RTF [XML] reports - Secondary header prob

Question

Hi al,
We have a requirement in .rtf reports. We are generating delivery bill in this. We are generating 3 copies of same bill in the .rtf file. If 1 copy extends to more than 1 page then obviously for other copies also it will print the same. So, the requirement is we have to place different header from 2nd page for each copies.
for eg:
Header with logo
body
Page - 1
Bill Header[Dispatch No etc..]
Contents
Page - 2
Bill Header[Dispatch No etc..]
Contents
Page - 3
Bill Header[Dispatch No etc..]
Contents
The above mentioned is structure of rtf.
So, In the above eg. if the contents in page 1 increases to next page, i have to keep 'bill header' as header instead of main header with logo in the extended page.
Could anyone please suggest how to proceed with this?

Hi,
I assume that you are giving the header information in the same report template. If that is the case you can use the following approach:
a) Create seperate RTF template just for the header as follows:
<?template:XX_HEADER_001?>
<?end:template?>
put the company logo, name etc. between those commands
b) Create a seperate template for Header and attach the above template (XML Publisher Administrator -> Home - Data Templates)
Lets say you name it as 'XX_HEADER' (short name)
c) Add a new field (just as a normal report field) in the main report template
d) Double click on the field -> Add Help Text -> Startus bar
Please put the following command
<?import:xdo://XX.XX_HEADER.en.GB/?>
in this 'XX' stands for the Application short name,
'XX_HEADER' is the short name of the header template
'en' is the language short name
'GB' is the country short name
Please change these code according to your header template definiton.
e) create another field below the field and give the following command in the status bar
<?call-template:XX_HEADER_001?>
Using this approach you can import the header to any reports. Also the same logic can be used for Footers as well
