Rule Activity - Special characters

Hi all,
First of all, thanks for your answer. Here, my doubt concerning an implementation that I'm trying to do:
A Rule activity must be used to check if a specific value of a node is true or false. The thing is that such value contains the following information: /service/telco/gsm/telephony
As you can see, it starts with "/", being the rule condition: /ControlData/Functions/AssignNumberFunction/orderItem/orderItemRef/PermittedTypeCode = /service/telco/gsm/telephony
After some tries, our conclusion is that trying with "/service/telco/gsm/telephony" or '/service/telco/gsm/telephony' doesn't work.
Does anyone know if this can be done without using a plugin task that invokes a Java code and only using the Rule activity? It seems that the value "/" must be scaped somehow. We would like to configure only the properties of the condition rule.
Thanks in advance!!

I can't find any .plist files in
Home/Library/Preferences that refer to CharPalette,
Surely you must have one called
com.apple.CharPaletteServer.plist?
also how can I find files which start with a period
We're not talking about files that begin with a ., but rather files that end in .plist.

    Your can create a Check
    Constraint on this column and only allow Numbersand Alphabets to
    be inserted in this column, see below:
    Check Constraint to only Allow Numbers & Alphabets
    ALTER TABLE Table_Name

  • How to Handle Special Characters in PI7.1

    Hi Team,
    I need to handle some special characters like <,>,& etc.. from WS Adapter to CRM in PI 7.1.
    http://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/scn/weblogs?blog=/pub/wlg/9420 [original link is broken]
    By using the above blog i had implemented the Java Code as
    public void execute(InputStream in, OutputStream out){
    try{
    int read_data;
    while((read_data = in.read()) != -1){
    if (read_data == '&'){
    out.write("&amp;".getBytes());
    }else if (read_data == '>'){
    out.write("&gt;".getBytes());
    }else if (read_data == '<'){
    out.write("&lt;".getBytes());
    }else if (read_data == '/'){
    out.write("&frasl;".getBytes());
    }else if (read_data == '\''){
    out.write("&apos;".getBytes());
    else { out.write(read_data);
    out.flush();
    } catch (Exception e){}
    I had added this class file in Operational Mapping.
    It is working  if we have only one IF condition for & in while
    Any suggestion
    Thanks
    Sriram

    Hi Ramesh,
    Thanks for your inputs, I have tried your code but it is not working. The error message stays the same.
    Dear Stephane,
    To describe the error more, the requirement is the payload coming from source through WS Adapter consists of the special characters <, > , & which are basic sematics of XML syntax. I need PI to process this payload with special characters and successfully transfer it to target CRM system. I have created the Java class with code (ref: Blog 9420) as stated earlier and added this class to my existing Operation Mapping. I am expecting the java mapping to replace the special characters in payload like  < with "&gt;" . So as the case with the other characters >,&,'
    After activaton of my operation mapping, I triggered the test message with Soap UI client and I could able to get a successful mapping only When I put the logic for &ampersand symbol only. However when I am trying to add the logic for > or < or ' the mapping is failing . I am using UTF-8 encoding across the source and PI enviroments.

  • Error in PSA with special characters

    Hello,
    I'm having a problem with sprecial characters in PRD system.
    This happen with standard extractor for Confirmations in SRM module, 0BBP_TD_CONF_1.
    I have 5 records with error in PSA. The field that have the error is 0bbp_delref and it has the text: “GUIA ENTREGA Nº2”.
    The error message says that field OBBP_DELREF has special characters that are not supported by BW.
    The field is char 16 and in spro I have the characters:
    QWERTYUIOPASDFGHJKLǪNºZXCVBM/~^´`* '()"#$%&!?.-0123456789«»<>
    In QUA, I created confirmations with this text and it worked fine and the characters in SPRO are the same.
    Any idea?
    Thanks and best regards,
    Maria

    Hi Maria,
    There will be no issue with update rules as the issue is with Data..
    ALL_CAPITAL should resolve your issue, .otherwise try individually executing those spl characters in RSKC..
    have you tried in SPRO...
    Check in this table RSALLOWEDCHAR in SE11 and find what all characters allowed(permitted)  in PRD system...
    please go through the above mentioned blog once
    Thanks,
    Sudhakar.

  • Oracle BPM Studio 10g R3 cataloging Web Services strips special characters

    Hi folks,
    I have a Web Service that I'd like to invoke from an activity in my process.
    When I catalog the WSDL, BPM Studio creates the associated External Resource just fine except for one small problem, namely all Simple Types that have 'special characters' in their enumerated String values are stripped clean.
    Example 1:
    ADSL1
    ADSL2
    ADSL2+
    --&gt; The plus is stripped from ADSL2+, causing BPM Studio to flag two problems caused by duplicate 'ADSL' values
    Example 2:
    adsl1#foo/123
    --&gt; Everything to the left of 123 is stripped leaving only '123' as a value
    In fact in the BPM Studio's Editor, the only special character that is allowed is the underscore. Everything else e.g. \ # etc etc cannot be keyed in.
    Has anyone come across this before? Thanks for reading :-)
    cheers

  • Error during data load due to special characters in source data

    Hi Experts,
    We are trying to load Billing data into the BW using the billing item datasource. It seems that there are some special characters in the source data. When the record with these characters is encountered, the request turns red and the package is not loaded even into the PSA. The error we get in the monitor is something like
    'RECORD 5028: Contents from field ****  cannot be converted into type CURR',
    where the field **** is a key figure of type currency. We managed to identify the said record in RSA3 on the source system and found that one of the fields contains some invalid (special) characters that show up as squares in RSA3. The data in the rest of the fields, including the fields mentioned in the error  looks correct.
    Our source system is a non-unicode system wheras the BW system is unicode enabled. I figure that the data in the rest of the fields are getting misaligned due to the presence of the invalid characters in the above field. This was confirmed when we unassigned the field with the special characters from the transfer rules and removed the source field from the transfer structure. After doing this the data was loaded successfully and the request turned green.
    Can anyone suggest a way to either filter out such invalid characters from the source data or make some settings in the BW systems such that the special characters are no longer invalid in the BW system? We cannot write code in the transfer rules because the data package does not even come into the PSA. Is there any other method to solve this problem?
    Regards,
    Ted

    Hi Thad,
    I was wondering, if system is unicode or non unicode that should not matter the amount and currency field . As currencies are defined by SAP and it is in pure English at least a currency code part of 3 Chars.
    Could this because of some incosistency of data ??
    I would like to know for Which currency  had some special characters it it in that particular record ??
    Hope that helps.

  • Special characters in passwords

    Where can I get documentation for restrictions on passwords. Like what special characters can be used in
    passwords?
    Maximum length etc?

    Passwords follow the same rules as other identifiers in the database:
    http://download-west.oracle.com/docs/cd/B10501_01/server.920/a96540/sql_elements9a.htm#27566
    That means:
    - not case sensitive
    - 1 to 30 characters long
    - no Oracle reserved word
    - no quotation marks
    - must begin with an alphabetic character
    - only alphanumeric characters, underscore (_), dollar sign ($), pound sign (#)

    Wow, this is misleading.
    The confusion starts with saying "special", and then not define it...
    The KM UI uses display names, but this doesn't affect what you can or can't put into an identifier (the RID for resources, or the property name for properties).
    What RIDs can take depends on the repository manager. In the best case, it roughly allows everything that would be allowed in a Windows filename. In particular, some rules depend on position as well, such as no trailing whitespace.
    Property names by definition use the same rules as XML element names (thus no whitespace at all).

  • Handling special characters in XML

    Hi,
    I am using Oracle 10g 'XMLType' datatype to store XML files. Before storing I parse the XML document using Java Xerces Parser. If it parses successfuly, then I perform some business rule execution based on XML file which was parsed. So till this stage there is no problems. But when XML file contains some special characters like copy-paste of some description from MS-Word document into XML tags, then Xerces parser will parse such characters with out any exceptions, but while inserting XML document, Oracle database just throws exception saying unable to handle special characters.. So how to avoid such exceptions or silent such exceptions with any specific settings respect to XMLType datatype in 10g DB.
    Please advice!
    Arvind Patil - IN

    Monica--
    In XI 2.0, we've noticed a number of issues processing special characters, primarily caused by the version of JCO that we're running.  It sounds like SAP has spent some time in the past few months focusing on these errors, so make sure you're on the most recent patchlevels of all your middleware components, including any of the middleware libraries that BC uses. In XI, we had to update the 3 files that make up the RFC library and JCO library.  SDM couldn't update the libraries for us -- we had to manually move the files to the right place.
    Escaped XML characters like "&amp;" "&#34;" "&quot;" were fixed as of JCO 2.0.10 (the current patchlevel on AIX/UNIX), the special character "&apos;" is fixed in the next release, JCO 2.0.11, due out in a few weeks (hotfixes are available).  I don't know the equivalent versions on other platforms.  By default, XI 2.0 appears to have shipped with JCO 2.0.5.  I would expect many XI 3.0 users to also be affected.
    This may or may not apply to BC, because I don't know what BC uses to talk to SAP under the covers.

  • Adding users with special characters results in error

    Hi all,
    I know it is not best practice to implement a Active Directory with user names containing special characters.
    Unfortunately, we come across some sites that do have these special characters in their user names.
    So, maybe it is a reason to tell the customer to reevaluate their naming policy, but in some cases this is
    just not possible / desirable. What we see when you try to add a user in the Sun VDI portal (1801) with
    a special character in his or her name, the VDI Portal goes back to the main login screen of the portal and
    displays an error:
    Internal Error Occurred!
    You have been logged out because a consistent response could not be guaranteed.
    If the error continues to occur, contact your local technical support and provide .....
    Does anyone know a workaround / fix for this.
    We are running Sun VDI 3.1 Revenue Release.
    Kind regards,
    Sander

    Svanderpost
    Open a support call with Sun there is a fix for this issue.

  • Create / Alter user doesn't allow special characters in password

    When i try to change the password from say : vos1s05 to : vos1s05! i get the error message (missing or invalid option), i have used several special characters and all give the same error, is there a way to circumvent this, or will this be enabled in a new release ??

    A password is classified as an oracle identifier and must conform to the rules for indentifiers. To include special characters you need to enclose it in double quotes e.g. "vos1s05!"

  • How to replace XML special characters using Xpress e.g. ' = '

    Hellos
    I need to write some XML built from resource data.
    The resource data strings can contain anything e.g. & ' " < and > characters.
    How do I replace these characters with the strings & &apos; " etc.... from within Xpress?
    I try something like:-
    <set name='testchar'>
    <switch>
    <ref>thisLetter</ref>
    <case>
    <s>'</s>
    <s>&apos;</s>
    </case>
    <case>
    <s>"</s>
    <s>"</s>
    </case>
    <case default='true'>
    <ref>thisLetter</ref>
    </case>
    </switch>
    </set>
    But when saved the <s>&apos;</s> gets saved as <s>'</s>
    Is this impossible with Xpress forcing me to invoke my own Java class? (which is a pain to do because of internal politics re restarting of App Server).

    Hmmmm seems there is transformation in this set up too.
    What I am trying to do is to parse a string which may or may not contain XML special characters into an XML acceptable string.
    e.g. transform the surname O'Connor into O&apos ;Connor (with no embedded blank)
    I wish to write a rule which uses XPress language to achieve this.
    I want to convert the character ' into the string &apos ; (with no blank between apos and ;) and similar for the other XML specials.
    Is this possible?

  • SQL Injections and XSS - Escaping Special Characters

    Hi, hope someone can help in regards to security and SQL Injections and XSS.
    We are using APEX 4.0.2 on Oracle 11.2.0.2.
    1. It seems the special characters we have entered into normal 'Text Items' 'Text Areas' etc are not being escaped (ie <,>,&, '). If I enter them into the field (ie Surname) they are saved as is into session state and the database - no escaping. Am I missing something such as an environment setting as I thought the "smart" oracle escaping rules would cater for this.
    Surely I don't have to manually do each of then.
    Just to confirm, am I looking in the correct places to assess if the characters are escaped or not - ie should they show as '&amp;&lt;&gt;' in session state and/or the database ?
    2. Also, for the Oracle procedures such as '‘wwv_flow.accept’ , ‘wwv_flow.show’ , 'wwv_flow_utilities.show_as_popup_calendar' - do these escape special characters. If not, then they must be vulnerable to SQL Injections attacks.
    Thx

    Just to pitch in, escaping values internally (either in the database or session state) is extremely problematic. Data searches, string comparison, reporting and double escaping are all areas which suffer badly when you do this.
    Stripping characters on input can also cause problems if not considered within the context of the application. Names such as "O'Niel", statistical output such as "n < 300", fields containing deliberate HTML markup can be annoying to debug. In certain situations stripping is totally ineffective and may still lead to cross-site scripting.
    Apex applications that share the database with other applications will also be affected.
    The database should contain 'raw' unfettered data and output should be escaped properly, as Joel said, at render time. We are doing Tag Queries, and all is working well, except when there are special characters in the Tag Name (+, /, \) We have attempted to do the Encoding of the tag name, such as as is returned from the function xmlencodename and also tried URL Encoding.
    Here is our tag which returns nothing.
    82TK1INV.OCTANE_R+M/2
    We have also tried these encoded versions, still to no avail:
    82TK1INV.OCTANE_R%2BM%2F2
    82TK1INV.OCTANER_M_2
    Any help on how to return the values with special characters in the tag name would be very helpful!
    thanks,
    Paul Mazeika

    To Chianti's question of why can't/shouldn't MII work with those bizarre tag names...
    Actually, there are a number of reasons:
    1) It's a poor design practice to use characters like that in tag names, regardless of the underlying system.  That type of information is best assigned to the tag description, not the tag name.  I've even seen idiots put leading spaces on tag names...figure that one out!
    2) MII uses XML extensively, and XML's syntax rules dictate what is and is not acceptable for XML element and attribute names, and many of these special characters are not permitted.
    3) Usage of characters in tags that also represent mathematical operators greatly complicate the parsing and processing of expressions that involve tag names
    In general, it reminds of the story of the guy who walks into the doctor, bangs his fist against a specific spot on his head, and says "Doc, it hurts when I do this", to which the doctor responds, "so don't do that".
    So, Don't Do That.
