Run FDM Report on Multiple Location

Hello,
We are on FDM 11.1.2.1. What I'm trying to do is design/change one of the can reports out of FDM so that it will run on multiple locations. I can get the report to run on the current location, a location selected by the user or can get it to run on all locations (takes way too long). What I would like to be able to do is set it up to run the report for all of the children under a control review location. Has anyone ever attempted this or do you have any insight into how to accomplish this? Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Some food for thought.
The easiest way to do this would be to have a stored procedure / SQL query that the report is going to hit that will give it exactly what it needs.
- If you are OK with hard coding values into locations, I agree that the Group Tag idea is good. You could retrieve all of the locations with a query like :
select * from tPOVPartition where PartNotes = 'GroupNameHere'or assuming it is going to be used in there where clause :
Select blah blah blah
from blah blah blah
where blah blah blah and (PartitionKey in (select PartitionKey from tPOVPartition where PartNotes = 'GroupNameHere'))
- If you are NOT OK with hard coding Group Tags and want to just let the natural hierarchy work, there is hope.
By using the tStructParitionLinks table, you can traverse the hierachy and get your list.
Assuming You have nothing deeper than 1 level, the follow SQL will work:
(NOTE: Start Location would be the parent and Endlocation would be the child)

                      tPOVPartition AS b ON a.EndLocationID = b.PartitionKey
where a.StartLocationID = <starting parent ID>The problem here is that if you have multiple nested levels, this query is not going to return all of the base items. If you need something to do that, than what you want to do is create a nested stored procedure. I'm not going to supply one as it would take me a bit to write it up.
The basic premise is :
- The stored procedure takes an input parameter, ParentID
- The stored procedure uses a temp table to hold results
- The stored procedure keeps track of it's recursive level and starts at one. (SQL Server handles this built in, assume oracle does as well)
- When you call the routine, it takes the ParentID, scans the Partition Link table and pulls all children that are tied directly to it.
- For each of the children, it adds an entry to the temp database table.
- Then it checks to see if that child record is also a parent in the table.
- If it is a parent, it calls another instance of itself (stored procedure) this time passing the child ID as the parent ID
- Eventually after you've exhausted all of the children/parents, you end up at the end of the initial call and at this point, you return the contents of the temp table.
- A third option, would be to use FDM script to accomplish this. In theory you could kick something off in a script, have it pull the list of children, and have it pass that info to the report and run it..... The following script will give you a listing of children for a parent :

  • URL to run a report file that is not located in $ORACLE_HOME/reports dir

    All,
    I know very little about configuring reports on the web.
    We have had a 10g App Server running for several years. All of our reports files so far have been located in the Middle Tier's $ORACLE_HOME/reports directory.
    We now have a need to create sub-directories under the reports directory and run reports out of those sub-directories.
    After poking around the documentation, I'm not seeing how to do this.
    For example:
    $ORACLE_HOME/reports (has some legacy reports files in it)
    $ORACLE_HOME/reports/EI22 (new directory where we want to put EI22 related reports)
    $ORACLE_HOME/reports/EI23 (new directory where we want to put EI32 related reports.....etc)
    Normally, to run my reports in the $OH/reports directory, I use an URL like the following:
    http://hostname.domainname/reports/rwservlet?report=reportfilename.rdf&userid=uname/pwd@dbname&desformat=html&destype=cache
    How would I run a report file that now resides in the EI22 or EI23 directory?

    As far as I know there is only one SourceDir property, you can assign multiple folders to it ... then at runtime you do not specify anything else in the URL, the reports server will look into each directory in the SourceDir (in order) for the report that you're trying to execute...
    If you have multiple versions of the same report located in the same server, then that's tricky because at runtime the reports server will execute the one from the directory where it finds it first.
    I personally prefer setting the REPORTS_PATH and having multiple ENVID sections that way in the URL I directly specify the ENVID which where the report is to be executed from...
    Here at work we used it for multiple applications with totally independent folders, so each application uses its own ENVID to invoke the reports.
    If you do not care/want this type of structure then use the SourceDir property that Andreas has mentioned and you do not need to add anything to your URL.

    REP-1924: Cannot locate the font file '<filename>'Cause:
    The font file specified in UIFONT.ALI is not found.
    Action:
    Make sure that the font file exists in REPORTS_PATH.
    So, it seems that you are using DESFORMAT=PDF and that subsetting has been configured in the file uifont.ali
    In this case, a file arial.ttf must exist in a directory of REPORTS_PATH

  • FDM integration script for multiple locations

    Hi,
    I have a slight problem with FDM integration script (SQL integration).
    From what I've understood and tested within one FDM-application (tablespace) I'm not able to have multiple integration scripts. This because the integration script needs to be named SQLIntegration.uss, otherwise there will be an error.
    I have multiple locations within one FDM-application where I would like to use an integration script. Due to the above mentioned naming "bug", I need to include all my locations' integration information in one script. As imagined this is not a solution that easy to maintain or easy to read.
    - Is there a workaround for the name-bug?
    - Can I call a function within the main function? I tried without any success, but maybe you would have a solution.
    Any input would be beneficial

  • Running SQL and Reports in Multiple LMS's

    We have an Oracle ilearning implementation that covers a number of subjects. The Ilearning system/database is partioned for each subject with each subject having the same schema and database objects. The only thing that is different is the data within the tables etc... I occasionally have to run SQL reports on all these partitioned databases. The only I can do this is to switch context from subject partition to subject partition. I was wondering if there is a quick way (one time SQL execution) to run the SQL report against all the partitions we have in total 18 subject partitions. Not having this ability means I have to run the same SQL multiple times which is a very time consuming exercise. I would preferably like to do this at the database end using SQL developer.

    Yes you are right I am referring to site. At the moment I have been created a 'user' that has access to the database objects in the ILEARN schema via synonyms. So this means having access to the ILEARN schema will allow me to use one single piece of SQL to report accross the 18 different sites we have and pull all the data into a single report. Currently, I have to report site by site and have 18 outputs for each SQL I run. We have to run 4 SQL statements and I'd rather have 4 outputs with all 18 site data in each of these outputs.

    We are using oracle database 11g R2
    Oracle Forms & reports : 11.1.2
    O.S : Windows & Professional
    We have install oracle database, Oracle forms & reports in server. Near about 25 users are accessing that database, forms & reports from server through browser.
    I have one problem, when users runs a report there report goes in queue and runs one by one in FIFO manner.
    If one user has a report that take long time other users has to wait for that time.
    Can it is possible to run reports in multitasking manner, i.e multiple report can be run simultaneously.

    Attempting to run crystal report through BI iView.

  • Running Scheduled Crystal Reports for Multiple Customers!

    Hi,
    We are trying to accomplish what we felt was a very common practice with reports.
    We have CR 2011, CR 2011 Enterprise, CR Server 2011.
    What we are trying to accomplish is very simple.
    Currently, I have a prompt in my report that prompts me with a dynamic list based on a small sql statement my report, it provides a list of individual customer and their id's. It takes that ID , puts it into another SQL statement in the command and generates just that customers data. it works perfectly!
    What we are trying to do is use crystal server 2011 to take that report in question, schedule it, and have it run for each of the dynamic customer id's that I previously used when it prompted the screen.
    The reports cannot use multiple values as we only want each customer data to be included in the report.
    We need to have the scheduler run this report for our 10 different customer idu2019s and send it to their individual email addresses at a scheduled time each day.
    Is this possible? This has to be a very common request of reporting tools.
    If SAP software cannot do it, is there a 3rd party software that will allow our reports to be ran in the way I am wanting?

    Within CR Server you can use the publication functionality to create a publication and schedule this to external customers - for this you would have to use a dynanic recipient list to map the customers email id's to a field in the source report.
    The workflow is described in the online Publication document, accessible at the SAP Support site.

  • How do I create a GL responsibility to access multiple ledgers (error trying to run Financial report submission)

    I created a new GL responsibility and used the same menu as an existing one but created a new data access set that has all the ledgers in it that we want to access.
    I left the following profile options with no value.  The reason being is this responsibility should not be tied to any org/ledger.
    MO: Operating Unit
    GL Ledger ID
    GL Ledger Name
    This all seems to be working fine except when the users try to access Financial Report Submission.  The error that appears when trying to choose a ledger when running the report.
    Error: Stale Data
    The requested page contains stale data. This error could have been caused through the use of the browser's navigation buttons (the browser Back button, for example).
    I have cleared the browser cache and cache was cleared by functional administrator.  In this case it really doesn't seem to be anything to do with the browser's back button being used (I didn't use it) since I can make this error go away by setting the value for GL Ledger Name.  But that is not what the users want since that will restrict them to a specific ledger but they should be able to run the report for any ledger.
    Any help would be much appreciated.

  • Problem while running report for Multiple Language

    Hi Friends,
    The set up for the apps is done for two languages 1. German 2. English.
    I’m printing Invoice Report. It is associated with MLS language function.
    It returns US or D (for German) according to the setup.
    When I run the report from English User, the report runs fine for MLS language function which returns 'US' and not working for ‘D’ as the template is not being picked up(it completed with status Normal and i'm able to see the output by running 'XML Report Publisher' program)
    Similarly when I run the report from German User, the report runs fine for MLS language function which return 'D' and not working for ‘US’.
    I have created two template for testing purpose.The setup for the template as follows.
    Language English Territory US.
    Language German Territory Germany.
    There is no effect on the combination of the language and territory.
    Please help me...

    When a report terminates with an error, REPORT_OBJECT_STATUS returns the value "TERMINATED_WITH_ERROR", which is 21 bytes of data, but rep_status is defined as 20 bytes. The 6502 error is due to the data not fitting the variable.
    I recommend wrapping the REPORT_OBJECT_STATUS function with a SUBSTR that limits the data returned to 20 bytes, which will ensure the results fit.
    For example:
    rep_status := SUBSTR(REPORT_OBJECT_STATUS(v_rep), 1, 20);

  • Long running report submitted multiple times in FMW 11.1.1.2.0

    We have migrated from App Server 10 to 11g (FMW).
    We have a number of reports that take > 5 minutes to run.
    We noticed that when a report takes > 5 minutes to run the reports server submits a duplicate of the job (i.e. we end up with two jobs running).
    We noticed that when a report takes > 10 minutes to run the reports server submits a second duplicate of the job.
    We noticed that when a report takes > 15 minutes to run the reports server submits a third duplicate of the job.
    In 10g only one job was submitted, irrespective of execution time.
    Can anyone tell me if this is expected behaviour in 11g? Is it possible to disable?

  • Error when running a report to Excel

    I receive an error when trying to run a report out of FDM in Excel. The report runs fine in PDF form but when running in excel it loses the formatting of the report and I get an error saying "excel found unreadable content". This report runs in all locations within FDM except for one. Has anyone ever come across this error? I am not sure why it would work for all other locations and just come up with an error for one location.

    Did you write that software, COTS package called Medgate?
    If not then ask that company for support. No one here would know how to fix it. They are using the CR RDC report engine.

  • FR Studio moving Cells Issue when running the report in Workspace

    I've created a complex, multi-grid FR report. There are 8 grids and 2 database connections in the report. When I run the report in Workspace for a smaller entity/unit, the report looks fine in PDF. When I run the report for a larger entity/unit, one of the cells in the grid duplicates itself and is shifted down into a second page on its own. The cell is an account cell with a label of "Salaries and Wages." The Salaries and Wages cell shows up in the correct location, but without a number. Then, there is a second page with the "Salaries and Wages" cell and the number that is at that intersection. I believe this only happens when the report is run on larger entities/units and when I view it in PDF, which is the format the users will be viewing this report.
    Also, something to note is that there is a gride to the right of this grid with the Salaries and Wages account, and I tried moving that out of the way and changing the row height and column width but none of those changes fixed the issue.
    Has anyone ever encountered something like this? Any ideas or comments would be greatly appreciated!!!

    Yes - consolidating 8 grids into 4 grids fixed the issue. I think having too many grids with multiple DB connections in each grid is too much for FR to handle. My current report has 4 grids with 2 of the grids having 2 database connections in them. The report is now working correctly.
