Run first JSF page on Jdeveloper11.1.2.1.0

Hi every body
Just I installed the jdeveloper 11.1.2.1.0 and I created the first JSF then I press on Run button. On the message-log shows:-
"#### Server Instance IntegratedWebLogicServer could not be started: Server Instance was terminated."
And on the Runing:IntegratedWebLogicServer-Log:-

Please to help me on this Problem.

Check your classspath environment variable if you find QTJava.zip on it. If yes remove it from the classpath and try to start the server again...

Trying to run a JSF page whose output i am getting from a Web Service

Hi
I am trying to run a JSF page containing a simple button and a outputText. On clicking the button ,the outputText field is populated with a value from a web service.
This page sometimes it runs fine else, on pressing the button nothing happens. In the message log it gives the following error:

Can somebody help me?
I am using port 8888. Actually in one of the demos , it is mentioned to use 8988. But using that it was giving the above error previously. But using 8888 it works sometimes , but sometimes it is not working.

I have two jsp pages (inputName.jsp and greeting.jsp) as I mentioned earlier in the path /WebContent/jsp
and one index.jsp in the path jsfHello/
The index.jsp just forwards the control to the page inputName.jsp
the code snippet: <jsp:forward page="/jsp/inputName.jsf" />
When I try to access the application as below I can see the corresponding pages and it corresponding navigation:
http://localhost:8080/jsfHello/jsp/inputName.jsf ( When I input name and continue it navigated to the greeting page)
http://localhost:8080/jsfHello/jsp/greeting.jsf
When I try to access the application as below it doesn't work:
http://localhost:8080/jsfHello
http://localhost:8080/jsfHello/index.jsf
http://localhost:8080/jsfHello/jsp/inputName.jsp
Can you please let me know why and what is to be done to make my application work when I access the url as http://localhost:8080/jsfHello

Unable to get the output when i run any jsf page in adf

Hi,
I have created one jsf page to access the business components which i had created earlier after that when i drop the another panel splitter into the second facet of the initial panel splitter we created , I was unable to see in the workspace (.jpx) window.can you suggest me on this.
after done all the steps if I tried to run that page it starts the WLS servier and createda URL but the url is taking long time approx more that two hour and still not getting the required output only the loading window I can see.
Please suggest me on this.

Hi,
the panelSplitter should at least show in the Structure Window. So check if it is there. The runtime issue can be caused by the proxy settings. Go to Tools / Preferences --> Browser and Proxy and add localhost to the list of exclusion

Reg first JSF page deployment

hi,
when I try to run my firstjsf application it says the following error;
org.apache.jasper.JasperException: null(-1,-1) This absolute uri (http://java.sun.com/jsf/html) cannot be resolved in either web.xml or the jar files deployed with this application
I think, this error means that there is no mapping for the <tag-uri> to the "tld" file in web.xml, so
I copy the "html_basic.tld" and "jsf_core.tld" into my application path and map it in web.xml
still the same error occures... how to resolve this?
More question;
- I found that no uri mapping in web.xml file in the sample jsf pages provided by jsf-1.1 specification? Is this mapping is necessary one or not?

I have resolved myself what i have asked before in this forum...
Actually the URL mapping to the TLD file is set in jsf-api.jar and jsf-impl.jar files, So no need to set the taglib mapping tags in "web.xml".
And I have tested my sample application both in Tomcat 4.1.x and Tomcat 5.0.x, it's works fine...
Any way thanks to this forum to expose various ways to identify the bugs when deploying JSF web application into the server.

Hi, I am new to JSF . Can anybody help me that how can i access a JSF page from Bea Weblogic 8.1. How can deploy. What libraries and files are needed and where to put these required .jar or library files. I just wrote a single page and now i am not able to run it . You need to package your application into the standard .war format. Make sure jsf-api.jar and jsf-impl.jar are placed in WEB-INF/lib, your faces-config.xml is in WEB-INF, and your tld files are defined appropriately. Once you have your .war file, deploy it to your servers applications directory or use the console for deployment.
You should not have any problems if everything is packaged correctly. I am successfully using WebLogic Server 8.1 with my JSF-based web app.

NoClassDefFoundError running jsf page rendering datacontrol return value

Hi all,
For a fusion web application, I have created a java file and converted it to a data control .The file has the code to establish the connection to an external SES endpoint and fetching the results.Dragged the return value to a jsf page part of a bounded task flow. The project has the Oracle SOAP jar in the classpath.Still when I run the jsf page ,I get the java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: oracle/soap/transport/http/OracleSOAPHTTPConnection exception in the console.Any ideas.

I guess I wondering whether issue lies with
1. a "com.sun.faces.util.DebugUtil" that doesn't perform correctly...
OR,
2. a "rule" that says the component tree will not support multiple panelGrids on the same page.
[For whatever reason, in the above example, "DebugUtil" does not appear to "see" the "id's" of the last panelGrid (i.e., id="panelGrid3"), component or its nested component (i.e., id="panelGroup3" )]
NOTE: I have neither been successful in referencing "panelGrid3" and "panelGroup3" using "FacesContext.getCurrentInstance().findComponet("panelGrid3") and "FacesContext.getCurrentInstance().findComponet("panelGroup3"), respectively.
Could someone let me know? (My apologies if the answer is obvious ... I admit I am relatively new to JSF.)

Fault when Design window of a JSF page

My first JSF page works fine when run application and it shows correctly selectitems at dropdown1 component (show next a piece of page)

JSF page not rendered in Design View (JDev 11.1.2.1.0)

Recently strange behavior in JDeveloper 11.1.2.1.0) begins: JSF pages in some projects are not rendered anymore. We enabled "Show Design time Messages in log" in JDev Tools/Preferences/JSP and HTML Visual editor and message
WARNING: A problem was encountered executing the page. Using fallback rendering is shown in log. This is visible on this snapshot:

What is common to all of the projects with this issue is that we run "Remove ADF Security Configuration" which was enabled before and we implemented our custom security using phase-listener.
Any idea what is wrong here?

It's a limitation, if you will, of the way JDeveloper works. It essentially runs your JSF page in order to get the rendering. At design time, the phase listener is obviously messing things up since you're not in a proper secured environment - hence the workaround to bypass your phase listener at design time.

it says that i have a problem in the line where the first jsf-tag appears : <f:fiew> , but i don�t get it what should be wrong with this?!
i think theres a kind of config problem with my tomcat or something else, but i dont know where to look after it, the book i�ve read didn�t say much about those things, unfortunately..

Problem with Non JSF Request to JSF Page

Hi All,
I am working on dynamic controls generation based on the request come from non jsf page
For the first request, pageworks perfectly. but when we go for second request, it is not rendering and I am getting same old page.
What I have identified is if I have 2 pages as JSF, application is not giving any problem.
For this I have written small test application contains both JSF pages only.
page1 contains 3 submit buttons.
When submit buttons are clicked based on the request, I get, am able to see the dynamic controls.
SO there is no problem with JSF PAGE to JSF Page Communication
Now I have done some changes in First JSF page. Instead of submitting directly I am submitting the page through JavaScript which is nonb JSF request. There I am facing the problem and based on requested qaction I am not able to see correct rendered page based on the requested action.
Any Idea why it is giving problem for non JSF requests??

Skimming the templates in the Template Chooser shows you all of the pages available in the template once you open it. You can insert the one(s) you want, even more than one of any of them. Most users don't want or need all of the different pages, especially when they start the document.

How to reset report to first pagination page each time it runs?

On a report with paging...heres the scenario:
Go to page 2 and run a report.
The report has 100 rows which page by 15 rows at a time.
I go to the 3rd pagination page which has rows 45-60.
I then navigate to page 300 in the application and do whatever.
When I return to page 2, it is still on the 3rd pagination page.
but I want it to return to the 1st pagination page.
How do I make sure every query returns to its first pagination page rather to the page I was last on?

You can also create a process on Page 2 that resets the pagination based on whether or not the current request is a next/prev page.
Create a pagination reset process on page 2, then condition it with a PL/SQL expression of
(:REQUEST IS NULL) OR (:REQUEST NOT LIKE 'pg_R_%')
This is based on Vikas' recommendation at Re: How to reset pagination
