Reg first JSF page deployment

hi,
when I try to run my firstjsf application it says the following error;
org.apache.jasper.JasperException: null(-1,-1) This absolute uri (http://java.sun.com/jsf/html) cannot be resolved in either web.xml or the jar files deployed with this application
I think, this error means that there is no mapping for the <tag-uri> to the "tld" file in web.xml, so
I copy the "html_basic.tld" and "jsf_core.tld" into my application path and map it in web.xml
still the same error occures... how to resolve this?
More question;
- I found that no uri mapping in web.xml file in the sample jsf pages provided by jsf-1.1 specification? Is this mapping is necessary one or not?
regards,
arun.

I have resolved myself what i have asked before in this forum...
Actually the URL mapping to the TLD file is set in jsf-api.jar and jsf-impl.jar files, So no need to set the taglib mapping tags in "web.xml".
And I have tested my sample application both in Tomcat 4.1.x and Tomcat 5.0.x, it's works fine...
Any way thanks to this forum to expose various ways to identify the bugs when deploying JSF web application into the server.
- Arun.

  • First OAF page deployment - many questions

I am trying deploy my first OAF Page (HelloWorldPG). However, I am getting lost trying to understand the directory
structure. I tried to read through older posts from other users....but parts of their directory structure is different
    from mine.
    Development Steps:
    1) Created new OA component page using the default package "oracle.apps.ak.hello"
The Physical location of the page is C:\JDEV\jdevhome\jdev\myprojects\oracle\apps\ak\hello\webui
I notice that it is also located under C:\JDEV\jdevhome\jdev\myclasses\oracle\apps\ak\hello\webui. why does it get created in both myprojects and myclasses?
    2) Created and attached the controller class (HelloWorldMainCO.class) as suggested in the dev guide
Physical location of the class file is C:\JDEV\jdevhome\jdev\myclasses\oracle\apps\ak\hello\webui
    3) Build and run the page. Page runs with out any errors
Deployment steps(This is where I feel like I am running in circles...)
    1) I manually created a directory structure "/hello/webui" under $JAVA_TOP/oracle/apps/ak since I thought that it should match what I had on my PC. Is this step of creating the directory structure manually even needed?
    2) Then I migrated:
    a)"HelloWorldPG.xml" into $JAVA_TOP/oracle/apps/ak/hello/webui from C:\JDEV\jdevhome\jdev\myprojects\oracle\apps\ak\hello\webui
as ASCII after ftp'ing into in my UNIX via command prompt
    b) "HelloWorldMainCO.class" into $JAVA_TOP/oracle/apps/ak/hello/webui from C:\JDEV\jdevhome\jdev\myclasses\oracle\apps\ak\hello\webui
as Binary after ftp'ing into in my UNIX via command prompt
    3) I tried to import the page/region in to the DB using the following command in the command prompt from C:\JDEV\jdevbin\jdev\bin
    import C:\JDEV\jdevhome\jdev\myprojects\oracle\apps\ak\hello\webui\HelloWorldPG.xml -username apps -password <password> -rootdir C:\JDEV\jdevhome\jdev\myprojects\ -dbconnection "(DESCRIPTION=(ADDRESS=(PROTOCOL=tcp)(HOST=172.xx.x.xxx)(PORT=1521))(CONNECT_DATA=(SID=<xxxxxx>)))" -rootPackage /oracle/apps/ak/hello
Import seems to have completed successfully without any errors. However, I am not sure if I gave the correct rootpackage or not.
JDR_% tables seem to be updated. I can vouch for only the JDR_PATHS table as only that seems to have the creation date.
PS: In the above import statement, I masked (only for this post) the password, ip address and the SID for security reasons. I am confident that what I used when importing is accurate.
    4) At this point should I be able to run procedure shown below?
    Begin
    jdr_utils.PrintDocument('/oracle/apps/ak/hello/webui/HelloWorldPG');
    End;
or should I first create the AOL function/attach it to the menu and then run the above?
I tried running it, with out creating the AOL Function and attaching the menu. It comes back with the message "Error: Could not find document /oracle/apps/ak/hello/webui/HelloWorldPG".
    5) Then I created the form function called "TOOLBOX_HELLO" with following:
    Type = SSWA jsp function
    HTML Call = "OA.jsp?page=/oracle/apps/ak/hello/webui/HelloWorldPG"
Now I don't know which menu to add the AOL Function.
As I mentioned earlier, I tried to read through several other older posts....however, I am getting confused.
There are multiple places in the above steps where I need guidance. Could any one pls. suggest/correct my steps in deployment?
    Thanks

    Hi there,
    1) Created new OA component page using the default package "oracle.apps.ak.hello"
The folder myclasses holds the .class compiled object files you deploy, the myprojects folder holds the .java source files.

Yes. This allows your code to be separate from seeded code so it isn't overwritten on patches.
    2) Then I migrated:
    a)"HelloWorldPG.xml" into $JAVA_TOP/oracle/apps/ak/hello/webui from C:\JDEV\jdevhome\jdev\myprojects\oracle\apps\ak\hello\webui

    Begin
    jdr_utils.PrintDocument('/oracle/apps/ak/hello/webui/HelloWorldPG');
    End;
Yes, that will show you that it was loaded into mds. This is only for diagnostic purposes, not always required.
or should I first create the AOL function/attach it to the menu and then run the above?
You can now to do the AOL function.
I tried running it, with out creating the AOL Function and attaching the menu. It comes back with the message "Error: Could not find document /oracle/apps/ak/hello/webui/HelloWorldPG".
    5) Then I created the form function called "TOOLBOX_HELLO" with following:

You need to bounce the apache server on the middle tier to get it to work.
    Hope this helps.

  • Run first JSF page on Jdeveloper11.1.2.1.0

    Hi every body
Just I installed the jdeveloper 11.1.2.1.0 and I created the first JSF then I press on Run button. On the message-log shows:-
"#### Server Instance IntegratedWebLogicServer could not be started: Server Instance was terminated."
    And on the Runing:IntegratedWebLogicServer-Log:-
    "*** Using HTTP port 7101 ***
    *** Using SSL port 7102 ***
    C:\Users\Hasan\AppData\Roaming\JDeveloper\system11.1.2.1.38.60.81\DefaultDomain\bin\startWebLogic.cmd
[waiting for the server to complete its initialization...]
\Java\jre6\lib\ext\QTJava.zip was unexpected at this time.
    Process exited."
Please to help me on this Problem.
    Thank you,

Check your classspath environment variable if you find QTJava.zip on it. If yes remove it from the classpath and try to start the server again...

  • Problem with Non JSF Request to JSF Page

    Hi All,
I am working on dynamic controls generation based on the request come from non jsf page
For the first request, pageworks perfectly. but when we go for second request, it is not rendering and I am getting same old page.
What I have identified is if I have 2 pages as JSF, application is not giving any problem.
For this I have written small test application contains both JSF pages only.
    page1 contains 3 submit buttons.
When submit buttons are clicked based on the request, I get, am able to see the dynamic controls.
SO there is no problem with JSF PAGE to JSF Page Communication
Now I have done some changes in First JSF page. Instead of submitting directly I am submitting the page through JavaScript which is nonb JSF request. There I am facing the problem and based on requested qaction I am not able to see correct rendered page based on the requested action.
Any Idea why it is giving problem for non JSF requests??
    Thanks
    Sudhakar

For Your Convenience in understanding the problem
I am pasting entire test code

  • How to call jsf page which is in a seperate project

    hi,
I am using JDEV 11.1.2.2.0 verrsion.
how can i call jsf page which is inside the seperate project.

    Hi,
How is the jsf page deployed? As a separate application or as part of the same application? If it is separate app, you can use the goLink method suggested by Suresh. If it is in the same app, you can create a taskflow and drop the page as view activity. Then, create an ADF Library out of the project and use it in your project where you want to call it.

  • How to display a JSF page inside center part of panel of another page?

How can I display a second JSF page inside my center part of Stretch layout in my First page on click of a commandImageLink of First JSF page? Can anyone help me in this with some example?

Here is a tutorial that will introduce you to the concepts of taskflows, page fragments and regions - http://www.oracle.com/technology/obe/obe11jdev/ps1/boundedtaskflow/bounded_task_flow.html

but, when I push Design button.... only next message appears on window:
form2: Expected a child component type of UISelecItem/UISelectItems for component type javax.faces.SelectOne(dropdown1). Found null.
    Thanks in advance.

    That's true, sorry.
I'm sure the problem is generated by IDE. I'm working with Netbeans 6.1. I forgot to say it in my first post.
It's important to say too I'm developing (trying) with Visual Web JavaServer Faces.
    Thank you

  • How to deploy portalized JSF page to WLS_portlet managed server

    Hi,
I'm a newbie in webcenter development and I'd like to ask what are the proper steps in deploying a portalized JSF page. Here are the steps I did
    1. Create a WebCenter application using WebCenter template
    2. Create JSF page
    3. Create Web Service Data Control (the page should invoke a webservice or BPEL process)
    4. Drag and Drop the data control onto the page as an ADF Parameter form
    5. Create Portlet Entry. Save All. Run the page in JDeveloper -> it's working fine. the service/process is being called successfully
    6. I created the necessary JAR,WAR and EAR files.
    7. Started WLS and Managed Servers (WLS_Portlet and WLS_Spaces)
    8. Deploy the custom application using Fusion Middleware Control to WLS_Portlet
    9. Bounce POrtlet managed server
    10. Register the portlet producer using Fusion Middleware Control
    11. Login to WebCenter Spaces
    12. Create New page and add Component - my new portlet
Now, the page loads my portlet, but when I click the button that will supposedly call the service, I either receive SOAP version mismatch error (for the webservice connection) or nothing happens/no response (for the BPEL process).
Did I miss anything? Do have to configure other things in order to make it work?
    Please advise.
    Thanks!
    Rian

Sorry, this seems to be working now. I just have to close all applications in order for the memory to call the actual BPEL process

  • Deploying simple website made up of JSF pages

    Hi all,
I have made a simple website containig only JSF pages.
But I could not able to deploy it on the oracle app server 10.1.3.0.
At the time of deploying it is not showing any error message.
But the website is not showing when I enter the given URL.
Can you plesase help me out.
Can you tell me any propper user guide to deploy JSF pages on oracle app server 10.1.3.0.
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi,
Except for specifying deployment plan, the procedure to deploy from JDev is the same. So, if your JSF application is running fine on the Embedded OC4J, then try deploying from JDev to App Server.
Check if the JSPX files are extracted properly in the applications folder of the OC4J home.
    Check http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/B31017_01/core.1013/b28764/deploy_em.htm#CACJCCEJ for more info

  • JSF page & Sqlserver DB - gave 'Use the sqljdbc4' class error !

    Hello,
I created an JSF page with business components and data controls generated from a connected sqlserver database.
The driver class used is 'sqljdbc4.jar' and works for all generaled VIEW LINKS by the AppModule.
However, on running the created JSF page, I get the following error - although the 'sqljdbc4.jar class (NOT sqljdbc.jar) is used for the DB connection, and the only reference in the application.
    The error message is:
Could not create pool connection. The DBMS driver exception was: Java Runtime Environment (JRE) version 1.6 is not supported by this driver. Use the sqljdbc4.jar class library, which provides support for JDBC 4.0.
QUESTION: Does that mean that I need to locate another sqlserver driver that supports JRE version 1.6 - although I understood from the documentation that 'sqljdbc4.jar' should work with JRE version 1.6?
see full message log below - when trying to deploy the JSF page:

No, you already have the needed driver in sqljdbc4.jar. The problem is that your classpath first points to sqljdbc.jar
    >
    ...;C:\KEEP\A_SOA_ActiveVOS\SQLserverjdbc_Driver\sqljdbc_2.0\enu\sqljdbc.jar
    >
so this dirver is loaded instead of the sqljdbc4.jar.
Remove the old jar from the class path and try again.

  • JDev 1013, Webservice as Data Control in JSF page returns error

    Hello,
For a client we are starting a project with Java Server Faces in combination with web services. In order to do some testing we created a web service in PLSQL (with a empno input field and a record output) and deployed this web service on an OC4J container. We then created a (new) JSF project, used the PLSQL web service as a Data Source, and used this Data Source in a JSF page.
When this JSF page is started an error occurs validation -
DCA-40007: The value for parameter "empNo" cannot be null..
The webservice can however be called in the page, the output is shown but the error stays in the page.
Communication with support gave me a temporary solution
I've put in the page definition for both the methodIterator (getEmpIter) and the accessIterator (ReturnIterator) the Refresh="Deferred". Now the error doesn't show in the page at startup of the page. Data is presented correctly after pushing the button, though still in the Jdeveloper Embedded OC4J Server Log shows a list of
ERROR Value for parameter : 'empNo' cannot be null.
In a multi row Webservice (created by JDeveloper) however i still get this error.
    (1) What caused this error?
    (2) When is the next version of JDeveloper due?
    (3) I am looking for documentation on the following subjects
(3.1) How a JSF page is rendered by the Oracle JSF implementation
(3.2) How to read and adjust the JSF page definition, for example the <executables> part
(3.3) Problem with the extra abstraction layer is that is very hard to find where an error occurs. Is a mechanism/documentation available to find in which JSF fase an error occurs and how to bypass it?
    Regards Leon Smiers

    (1) I think what is happening is that your page calls out to the Web service when you first run it without any parameter. This is why you get the error and also the reason that deffer works to solve this.
I think a solution would be to have your Web service handle the case of receiving an empty parameter.
    (2) When it is ready :-)
(3.2) right click the jsf page and choose "go to page defenition" you can then edit it using the structure pane and the property inspector.
(3.3) you can run in debug mode, the code for ADF will be available when we go production, and with it a lot of more documentation.

  • First JSF Test fails

    Hi,
I'm new to JSF and was just about testing a first simple test.
I'm using Tomcat (for WSDP), WSDP and Eclipse with the sysdeo-tomcat-plugin.
I followed a tutorial in a book ("Java Server Faces" by Andi Bosch, Addison-Wesley) so I'm sure that my code should work.
When I try to start the Tomcat, I get the following messages and my JSF pages are not accessable after that.
    Tomcat Messages:

  • Action method calls when refreshing the JSF page

I have a test application which contains a JSF page. The page contains a command button. Button's action attribute is mapped with action method in managed bean.Inside action method I am not doing anything and just redirecting to the same page using navigation-rule configured in faces-config.xml. I deployed the application and tested the page.
    This is what I observed.
    scenario 1:
    ===========
    1) Run the page.
    2) Refresh the page.
    Observation:
    Action method not called.
    scenario 2:
    ===========
    1) Run the page.
    2) Click the command button.
    2) Refresh the page any number of times.
    Observation:
For each and every time the page is refreshed Action method is called.
Can anybody tell me why it is happening?
