                try
                    nativeApplication.startAtLogin=true;
                catch(e:Error)
                trace('error =' + e.message.toString());
is there any need to call this function in init()  of my app ?
right now i m not calling it in init()..js created a seperate function without calling it in any other function..any it launches the app whn i restart my pc..

  • Run Flex App in Frame?

    1. Can I run a flex app in a frame? Like a nav bar at the top
    of an html page for example.
    2. Can the flex app register mouse clicks from an html frame
    that it is not running in?
    3. Can anyone point me to references on these subjects?
    Thank you very much.

    Yes you should be able to. I've personally run it in an
    iframe.
    You can use javascript and ExternalInterface to possibly have
    some message from the html frame passed to the navbar. However,
    ExternalInterface has issues with having your page open in multiple
    tabs/windows, so you may need to randomize the id of the navbar if
    that is a concern.
    Just google ExternalInterface, for the most part.

  • Could not run flex app in debug mode

    All of a sudden I am having issue running my flex app on debug mode that was running fine before. When ever I launch my app on debug mode, I get a popup information that says,
    "This file you chose is not inside a project, so many Flex Builder features will be disabled."
    I asks me to create a new flex project. I have tried to close the FB and relaunch it, restarted my machine couple of times, cleared the browser cache. nothing seem to work?
    What is the issue with this? I have never come across this issue before. Any help will be highly appreciated. Thanks.

  • Running Flex app in Linux

    Hi all,
    I've got a strange problem on Linux (Ubuntu 8 running in
    VMware): I've got a quite complex Flex application running in FP
    10.0.12.36 where (in both Opera and Firefox)
    - the "Settings" link in the FP context menu is greyed out
    - the Settings popup does not appear when the Flex app tries
    to save more data in a SharedObject than currently allowed for this
    domain
    - the Settings popup window does not appear when deliberately
    triggered (via Security.showSettings)
    With another simple Flex test application running in the same
    OS as the same user in the same browsers, all these problems don't
    appear. The only difference which I can see at the moment (apart
    from the complexity of the application which of course shouldn't
    play a role) is that the complex application is compiled from an
    Ant task whereas the simple app is created and compiled inside Flex
    builder.
    I did not deliberately set anything in the Ant task which
    could avoid the "settings" issue to work properly. In the Flex
    compiler options I also can't see anything related to these
    settings.
    Does anyone have had a similar problem? Any clues or
    suggestions?
    btw: here is the Ant task:
    <target name="compile_annex_flex_files"
    depends="checkFlexHome">
    <echo>Compile: start</echo>
    <echo>FLEX_HOME: ${FLEX_HOME}</echo>
    <mxmlc file="${ANNEX_SOURCES_DIR}/AnnexInterface.mxml"
    output="${ANNEX_OUTPUT_DIR}/AnnexInterface.swf"
    locale="en_US" debug="false" use-network="true"
    static-rsls="false">
    <load-config
    filename="${FLEX_HOME}/frameworks/flex-config.xml"/>
    <runtime-shared-library-path
    path-element="${FLEX_HOME}/frameworks/libs/framework.swc">
    <url
    rsl-url="${SERVER_PATH}/framework_${FLEX_BUILD}.swz"/>
    <url
    rsl-url="${SERVER_PATH}/framework_${FLEX_BUILD}.swf"/>
    </runtime-shared-library-path>
    <compiler.source-path path-element="src"/>
    <compiler.library-path dir="${basedir}" append="true">
    <include name="lib/scrollbar.swc"/>
    </compiler.library-path>
    </mxmlc>
    <echo>Compile: end</echo>
    </target>
    Thanks,
    Thomas

    You must use the 3.4.1 SDK that is provided on LiveCycle DVD or from an installation of Workbench (See the Customizing LiveCycle Workspace ES2 at at  http://help.adobe.com/en_US/livecycle/9.0/customizeworkspaceui.pdf or the Creating Flex applications enabled for LiveCycle Workspace ES2 guide http://help.adobe.com/en_US/livecycle/9.0/createflexapps.pdf guide).
    There are functions in the SwfConnector component that allows you to communicate with the IFrame but as far as I know, there are no APIs that are exposed.
    I'll defer to others if they know about it.
    Hope that helps!

  • Snow Leopard 10.6.2 can't run 'X11.app' (with system log)

    Hello everyone, English is not my mother tongue so may not be exactly correct, sorry about that.
    Background:
    I have a MacBook White (13-inch, Mid 2009) that isn't unibody, and was running Leopard 10.5.
    I am the only one that will use the Mac and my user account is as the 'admin'.
    When I was using 10.5, I could open the 'X11.app'.
    But few days ago, I did a clean installation of 10.6.2 Snow Leopard from the USD$29 disc.
    After that I installed the iLife '09 (the gray disc bundled with the MacBook),
    and I cloned the drive to my ext. FireWire HD immediately after the installation of SL and iLife'09 by using the CCC (Carbon Copy Cloner).
    After that, of course, I was going to install the apps I need, and update the software.
    _But the problem appears:_
    When I try to open the 'X11.app', the X11 icon begins jumping on the Dock, but nothing happens.
    Jumping and jumping... finally, it doesn't jump any more, with just the X11 icon on the dock.
    What's more, there is no white dot under the icon, which means the app isn't running at the moment.
    I right-clicked the icon, it shows me 'application not responding'.
    So, I open the *Activity Monitor*, and I can see there are two apps related to X11 are running:
    (1) X11
    (2) X11.bin
    Please see below for the system log (around 1min. log, starting with the time when I open the X11)

    But after that, it seems that the processes are stilling running:

    As I've said, I have a clone of 10.6.2 on my ext. FireWire HD.
    So I've tried to boot the MacBook with the key 'option' pressed in order to boot from the clone.
    What surprises me is that I can open the X11 without any problem.
    And I've tried to open a new user account to test.
    Even if the account isn't 'admin', the X11 can be opened too.
    What this phenomenon tells me is that maybe there is an app(s) that I installed will make the X11 not open.
    I've Googled the problem and tried the following methods:
    (1) Reinstall the X11 from the Snow Leopard disc.
    (2) Log in as the 'root' user, go to *System Preferences* to create a temporary account (e.g. named 'test') so that I can delete my current account (e.g. named 'User') (I copied the UUID and pasted it into TextEdit, saving it on my different partition of ext. FireWire HD.). Then I open a new account with the same username (named 'User') and paste the UUID I previously saved to the newly created account (named 'User'), and then redirect the home folder path to the original home folder (the account named 'User' that I deleted).
    (3) Create an account for testing (e.g. named 'test'), set it as admin. Then log in as the 'root' user, to use 'ditto' command in Terminal to copy my home folder to the account named 'test'. After that, I make the account for testing (account name 'test') have the permission to read and write the files by pressing 'command + I' the home folder, and then set the user 'test' having the permission to read and write and apply this to all the enclosed folder.
    NONE of the above has worked.
    So what can I do in order to make my X11.app work again?
    Thanks in advance!!

    But you have it running in the other account. With X11 problems, this is as easy as it gets.
    I hope this problem can be solved soon...
    Unfortunately, I'm pretty sure you are going to have to use the Terminal.
    I see, thanks for the info.! (I am new to the Mac since 2009 )
    The only one that would cause any problem by being removed is ".Trash". You don't have any of the other files that Bob is talking about. It would be annoying for any heavy Terminal user to lose those dot files, but perfectly safe.
    There is no need to even attempt to backup anything in /tmp.
    Thanks for the info.!
    Try this. In System Preferences, select Sharing and enable "Remote Login". Login to that Standard user who can run X11 with no problem. Then, just as a test, run "ssh <mainuser>@localhost". Verify that you are in the home directory of the user with the X11 problems. Don't do anything yet. Just type 'exit' to logout.
    Reboot your machine. Login as the Standard User. Run "ssh <mainuser>@localhost" again. This time, run the "rm .<somefile>" on all those dot files (except for .Trash and maybe .CFUserEncoding). This time they should all stay deleted. Follow Bob's advice too and do "rm Library/Preferences/org.x.X11.plist". Type "cd /tmp" and delete everything you can find in there. You can't do any damage there. Type "exit" to quit the ssh session.
    Now logout of the standard user and log back in to your primary user and try it again.
    I am now at the standard account called 'test' and browse this web page using Safari through Wi-Fi.
    4 things:
    .bash_history
    .DS_Store
    .fontconfig
    .Xauthority
    ==========
    With the '.fontconfig', I can't delete it from the Terminal:
    +Michael-Leungs-MacBook:~ Michael$ rm .fontconfig+
    _+rm: .fontconfig: is a directory+_
    (At this moment, I Googled the 'rm' command and found these web pages:

    I did a clean installation and now Snow Leopard 10.6.2, with iLife, iWork, and many many apps.
    I am the only one who will use the Mac and my user account is as the 'admin'.
    I previously had a problem concerning X11 too:
    http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=2343732
    *What I've done:*
    (1) rename my HD to 'Michaels_Home' under 'Get Info' from Finder (I can't rename in Disk Utility though)
    (2) press return (enter)
    (3) change my home folder path to the '/Volumes/Michaels_Home/Users/Michael' (http://eshop.macsales.com/Reviews/Framework.cfm?page=Tips/relocate3/relocate3.ht ml)
    (4) restart
    (5) log in and open X11
    (6) problem solved!!
    ==========
    *BUT NOW* I have a problem after:
    (1) log in as the root user, and use command +ditto -V xyz xyz+ to copy my home folder from '/Volumes/Michaels_Home/Users/Michael' to '/Users>Michael'
    (2) change my home folder path to the '/Users/Michael' (http://eshop.macsales.com/Reviews/Framework.cfm?page=Tips/relocate3/relocate3.ht ml)
    (3) use the Mac OS X Snow Leopard USD$29 disc to boot my Mac up
    (4) delete the 'Michaels_Home' partition (I had 3 partitions: (1) Macintosh HD (2) Michaels_Home (3) Windows XP Professional)
    (5) resize the 'Macintosh HD' partition
    (6) boot from Macintosh HD
    (7) find that there's a problem about X11
    _The problem:_
    it takes a *long time* for X11 to start.
    So, I open the *Activity Monitor*, and I can see there are 3 apps related to X11 are running:
    (1) X11
    (2) X11.bin
    (3) xauth
    *At the moment now, if you would wait for about 1.5 min., X11 will open.*
    Please see below for the system log (from 'FREEZING' to 'WORKING')

    So what actually causes this problem?
    Thanks in advance!

    It turns out that there's something wrong about permissions.
    Here's the fix:
    (1) log in as the +root user+
    (2) type +chown -R Michael:staff ~Michael+
    (3) log out the +root user+
    (4) log in your account
    (5) done!
    Hope this thread will help those who encounter the same problem as me!

  • Xfce runs some apps twice at startup

    Usually Xfce runs conky and keepassx twice during the startup. I tried cleaning ~/.cache/sessions while unlogged, but it didn't work.
    These apps figure only once in xfce4-sessions-settings and these are my settings.

    I had this problem in XFCE, ages ago, worked around by auto-starting a bash script, rather than the apps themselves, then having a bit of checking in the bash script - snippets:
    #!/bin/bash

  • Can't run java apps with System.out.println on any builder.

    Hello,
    I'm currently using Vista RC2, which is the immediate problem.
    Classes with System.out.println won't launch the console window. As I'm a student and practicing on these steps, I do have quite a problem on my hands. I click on run, build succesfull, nothing happens.
    I have tried Netbeans and Jcreator, and gave up on trying different builds, as I reckon I'll have to find some other way to counter this; any way to get println messages working in vista?

    It is run as a desktop app, and other runs with commands such as JOptionPane do function, only the println windows don't appear at all. So I think JRE is installed and working.
    I did notice there was one command for input where I'd be able to enter it at the bottom of Netbeans.
    Like just now I clicked build and run for the following code
    import java.util.*;
    public class FirstProgram
        public static void main(String[] args)
            System.out.println("Hello out there.");
            System.out.println("I will add two numbers for you.");
            System.out.println("Enter two whole numbers on a line:");
            int n1, n2;
            Scanner keyboard = new Scanner(System.in);
            n1=keyboard.nextInt();
            n2=keyboard.nextInt();
            System.out.println("The sum of those two numbers is");
            System.out.println(n1+n2)
    }Resulting in a brief flash of "input" in the output window (which is below the coding window) and it dissapears. But this also occurs when I don't include system scanner code.
    Using commands in cmd
    java -jar "C:\Users\Alegis\Netb\MyApp\dist\MyApp.jar"
    Does not yield desired results either. Nothing happens.

  • How can i run java application at system startup just liks as services

    How we can run java application at the time of system
    starts up just like as services.

    Hi,
    At first you have to create an exe of the class file.
    for that go to the site www.duckware.com/java2exe.html
    Click on the j2exe23c.exe(75k) download it and install in ur system. convert the class file to windows exe.
    The put the exe in the startup folder in windows.
    If ur not able to find that folder search for it and put that exe in that folder.

  • What is necessary for a web host in order to run Flex apps? How to configure?

    I did find a few past postings on the forum but none seemed
    to address the problem.
    Can somebody who had hands on experience share his/her
    knowledge about a migrating a Flex application to production
    environment? Do I need to modify any settings? When I transfer the
    bin folder contents the UI works fine but the data connection
    throws errors.
    Does the web host need to have any specific software
    installed? More specifically, my host has CF 7 but do not have Flex
    data services installed. All I use is RemoteObject so I guess this
    can be done without Flex data services. Is this correct?
    Finally, if you can refer me to a configuration guide that
    the web host would need to follow, it would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks for your time in advance.
    Emre

    Thanks for the response, here is the error message that I am
    getting.
    (mx.rpc::Fault)#0
    errorID = 0
    faultCode = "Server.Processing"
    faultDetail = (null)
    faultString = "Permission denied"
    message = "faultCode:Server.Processing
    faultString:'Permission denied' faultDetail:'null'"
    name = "Error"
    rootCause = (Object)#1
    cause = (null)
    localizedMessage = "Permission denied"
    message = "Permission denied"
    Obviously some data connection is failing due to permissions.
    My host, however, does not know what permisson is causing it and
    what the fix would be. Thanks for the input in advance

  • I was wondring if there is any top free app for cleaning up  the computer and make it run faster while booting, on startup and while surfing web. I am using a macbookpro  with IOS10.8.5, under chrome,safari,firefox net environment. thanks on yourhelp

    I was wondering if there is any top free app for cleaning up  the computer from malware, phinishing apps, adware, and othere malicious softwares and make it run faster while booting, on startup and while surfing web. I am using a Macbook pro  with IOS10.8.5, under chrome,safari,firefox net environment. thanks on your help

    I was wondering if there is any top free app for cleaning up ...
    There is no such thing, since the problems you are describing can have various causes. Seeking anything claiming to "clean" your Mac is asking for trouble, since all of those products are scams, whether they are "free" or not.
    If you are having trouble with your Mac, describe what it is. Be as specific as possible. For general recommendations read below.
    There will always be threats to your information security associated with using any Internet - connected communications tool:
    You can mitigate those threats by following commonsense practices
    Delegating that responsibility to software is an ineffective defense
    Assuming that any product will protect you from those threats is a hazardous attitude that is likely to result in neglecting point #1 above.
    OS X already includes everything it needs to protect itself from viruses and malware. Keep it that way with software updates from Apple.
    A much better question is "how should I protect my Mac":
    Never install any product that claims to "clean up", "speed up", "optimize", "boost" or "accelerate" your Mac; to "wash" it, "tune" it, or to make it "shiny". Those claims are absurd.Such products are very aggressively marketed. They are all scams.
    Never install pirated or "cracked" software, software obtained from dubious websites, or other questionable sources.
    Illegally obtained software is almost certain to contain malware.
    "Questionable sources" include but are not limited to spontaneously appearing web pages or popups, download hosting sites such as C net dot com, Softonic dot com, Soft pedia dot com, Download dot com, Mac Update dot com, or any other site whose revenue is primarily derived from junk product advertisements.
    If you need to install software that isn't available from the Mac App Store, obtain it only from legitimate sources authorized by the software's developer.
    Don’t supply your password in response to a popup window requesting it, unless you know what it is and the reason your credentials are required.
    Don’t open email attachments from email addresses that you do not recognize, or click links contained in an email:
    Most of these are scams that direct you to fraudulent sites that attempt to convince you to disclose personal information.
    Such "phishing" attempts are the 21st century equivalent of a social exploit that has existed since the dawn of civilization. Don’t fall for it.
    Apple will never ask you to reveal personal information in an email. If you receive an unexpected email from Apple saying your account will be closed unless you take immediate action, just ignore it. If your iCloud, iTunes, or App Store account becomes disabled for valid reasons, you will know when you try to buy something or log in to this support site, and are unable to.
    Don’t install browser extensions unless you understand their purpose:Go to the Safari menu > Preferences > Extensions. If you see any extensions that you do not recognize or understand, simply click the Uninstall button and they will be gone.
    Don’t install Java unless you are certain that you need it:
    Java, a non-Apple product, is a potential vector for malware. If you are required to use Java, be mindful of that possibility.
    Java can be disabled in System Preferences.
    Despite its name JavaScript is unrelated to Java. No malware can infect your Mac through JavaScript. It’s OK to leave it enabled.
    The same precaution applies to Adobe Flash Player. Newly discovered Flash vulnerabilities appear almost weekly.
    Beware spontaneous popups: Safari menu > Preferences > Security > check "Block popup windows".
    Popup windows are useful and required for some websites, but unsolicited popups are commonly used to deceive people into installing unwanted software they would never intentionally install.
    Popups themselves cannot infect your Mac, but many contain resource-hungry code that will slow down Internet browsing.
    If you ever receive a popup window indicating that your Mac is infected with some ick or that you won some prize, it is 100% fraudulent. Ignore it.
    The same goes for a spontaneously appearing dialog insisting that you upgrade your video player right this instant. Such popups are frequently associated with sites that promise to deliver "free" movies or other copyrighted content that is not normally "free".
    The more insistent it is that you upgrade or install something, the more likely it is to be a scam. Close the window or tab and forget it.
    Ignore hyperventilating popular media outlets that thrive by promoting fear and discord with entertainment products arrogantly presented as "news". Learn what real threats actually exist and how to arm yourself against them:
    The most serious threat to your data security is phishing. Most of these attempts are pathetic and are easily recognized, but that hasn't stopped prominent public figures from recently succumbing to this age-old scam.
    OS X viruses do not exist, but intentionally malicious or poorly written code, created by either nefarious or inept individuals, is nothing new.
    Never install something without first knowing what it is, what it does, how it works, and how to get rid of it when you don’t want it any more.
    If you elect to use "anti-virus" software, familiarize yourself with its limitations and potential to cause adverse effects, and apply the principle immediately preceding this one.
    Most such utilities will only slow down and destabilize your Mac while they look for viruses that do not exist, conveying no benefit whatsoever - other than to make you "feel good" about security, when you should actually be exercising sound judgment, derived from accurate knowledge, based on verifiable facts.
    Do install updates from Apple as they become available. No one knows more about Macs and how to protect them than the company that builds them.
    Summary: Use common sense and caution when you use your Mac, just like you would in any social context. There is no product, utility, or magic talisman that can protect you from all the evils of mankind.

  • I have a production mobile Flex app that uses RemoteObject calls for all data access, and it's working well, except for a new remote call I just added that only fails when running with a release build.  The same call works fine when running on the device

    I have a production mobile Flex app that uses RemoteObject calls for all data access, and it's working well, except for a new remote call I just added that only fails when running with a release build. The same call works fine when running on the device (iPhone) using debug build. When running with a release build, the result handler is never called (nor is the fault handler called). Viewing the BlazeDS logs in debug mode, the call is received and send back with data. I've narrowed it down to what seems to be a data size issue.
    I have targeted one specific data call that returns in the String value a string length of 44kb, which fails in the release build (result or fault handler never called), but the result handler is called as expected in debug build. When I do not populate the String value (in server side Java code) on the object (just set it empty string), the result handler is then called, and the object is returned (release build).
    The custom object being returned in the call is a very a simple object, with getters/setters for simple types boolean, int, String, and one org.23c.dom.Document type. This same object type is used on other other RemoteObject calls (different data) and works fine (release and debug builds). I originally was returning as a Document, but, just to make sure this wasn't the problem, changed the value to be returned to a String, just to rule out XML/Dom issues in serialization.
    I don't understand 1) why the release build vs. debug build behavior is different for a RemoteObject call, 2) why the calls work in debug build when sending over a somewhat large (but, not unreasonable) amount of data in a String object, but not in release build.
    I have't tried to find out exactly where the failure point in size is, but, not sure that's even relevant, since 44kb isn't an unreasonable size to expect.
    By turning on the Debug mode in BlazeDS, I can see the object and it's attributes being serialized and everything looks good there. The calls are received and processed appropriately in BlazeDS for both debug and release build testing.
    Anyone have an idea on other things to try to debug/resolve this?
    Platform testing is BlazeDS 4, Flashbuilder 4.7, Websphere 8 server, iPhone (iOS 7.1.2). Tried using multiple Flex SDK's 4.12 to the latest 4.13, with no change in behavior.
    Thanks!

    After a week's worth of debugging, I found the issue.
    The Java type returned from the call was defined as ArrayList.  Changing it to List resolved the problem.
    I'm not sure why ArrayList isn't a valid return type, I've been looking at the Adobe docs, and still can't see why this isn't valid.  And, why it works in Debug mode and not in Release build is even stranger.  Maybe someone can shed some light on the logic here to me.

  • Running a Flex App using Coldfusion Flash Remoting Services gives me a blank SWF file but no errors

    I cannot get flex to compile to display anything. even if its
    just a single panel and some text. If I use the wizard and choose
    "Basic" or whatever, I get a flex app. But i am using cfcs so I
    selected "Coldfusion Flash Remoting Services" and when I select
    run, the browser pops up with a nice big blank screen. No loading
    progress bar, no errors, nothing.
    I am running cf8 as a standalone (developers edition)
    under project properites --> server
    root folder: C:\ColdFusion8\wwwroot
    root url
    http://localhost:8500/
    context: (blank)
    I have messed with context and webroot.
    I doesn't matter if I use a remoteObject or not. Nothing
    happens
    i through in a crossdomain.xml into the root to open it up,
    just to be sure.
    I am really stumped. I had this working fine on a previous pc
    (running cf7)
    any ideas anyone???

    I tried with some of the AS3 files from Adobe samples (http://www.adobe.com/devnet/actionscript/samples.html), for eg., the Drawing API. There are slider components in the flash app that don't show up either. Does that give anyone a clue as to what might be wrong? Thanks, Ramesh

  • Run out other tools directly from a Flex app

    Hi all.
    I develop a flex app and I want to integrate it with another tool.
    More specifically, I would like to click a button at my interface, and automatic and transparently to the user, a file with name and address pre-defined be written at the HD (without to use the FileReference object) and after, that an interpreter automatically run this file.
    I had saw this is possible with the AIR technology, but the web nature of my project doesn't allow me a platform change.
    So, I woudl like to ask you if my demand could be accomplished using the flex technology.
    Thanks in advance,
    Péricles

    Probably not.  Otherwise lots of great malware would be delivered via Flash.
