Run Form 10g through Form 9i

Hi
I want to run a form which is created by form developer 10g through form 9i, but there is a error that means not matching a version!
Any solution?
Thanks

I want to run a form which is created by form developer 10g through form 9i, You mean, form builder 10gR2 and deployed from OAS 9?
If that is true, the answer is:
Builder and deployed nust be same version, and I add, (may be ??) also patching must be same release( e.g Forms [32 Bit] Version 10.1.2.0.2 (Production) must be = OAS 10.1.2.0.2 Forms services)

    Same issue here... Been trying to get this working since a week now. I tried all the solutions like memory heap and all but no luck.
    One thing that I would like to know is that, in some threads the resolution was to recompile the INS_FORMS.MK file under /forms/lib32 but with my installation I don't have that "lib32" folder under /forms/ and I can not even find that file anywhere in my entire installation.
    I am using 12.1.1 on Windows Server 2008.
    Any help or guidelines is greatly appreciated.

  • Can't run form from Form Builder 10g - Port configuration problem?

    Hi,
    I have installed the Database (10.2.0.1.0) and the Developer Suite (10.1.2.0.2) on two Linux machines (Red Hat Enterprise Linux ES 4 Basic).
    If I enter the frmservlet-URL manually everything seems to be fine.
    In one case I enter http://127.0.0.1:8890/forms/frmservlet, in the other http://127.0.0.1:8889/forms/frmservlet; in BOTH cases I get eventually a dark square and the status bar says "Applet oracle.forms.engine.Main started".
    HOWEVER, if I create a simple form with Form Builder and click on the Button with the green traffic light ("Run Form"), the form runs only on the machine where frmservlet listens on port 8890.
    On the other machine (frmservlet configured to listen on port 8889) Firefox pops up, the URL "http://127.0.0.1:32979/6dOrpwghCqnp8PhMT7KVT533m3IaArqFbPqPBOztZXWYSsNy" gets called, and nothing else happens. The screen displays the string "ORACLE FORMS." and the status bar says "Waiting for 127.0.0.1...", and it stays like this forever.
    I assume this is a port configuration problem, but I don't have a clue where to start.
    Any suggestions how I should proceed are greatly appreciated.
    Thank you very much in advance!

    Hi Frank,
    Thank you for your reply.
    I doublechecked my configuration.
    In the dialog Edit --> Preferences --> Runtime the Application Server URL is set to "127.0.0.1:8889/forms/frmservlet".
    However, when I attempt to run the form, the URL "http://127.0.0.1:33140/W2dwbV9eXS2fPkuKlxNhCxFWdEihwDviat2uV7ycrSotqwDN" gets called.
    The screen displays the string "ORACLE FORMS." and the status bar says "Waiting for 127.0.0.1...", and that's it.
    I wonder how the port number 33140 got selected. Interestingly, this time it is a different number; last time it was port 32979. In fact, the port number seems to change each time; I tried again and now it is 33189.
    I will now try to set the port number for the frmservlet to 8890.
    I choose Edit --> Preferences --> Runtime and set the application server URL to "127.0.0.1:8890/forms/frmservlet".
    I stop the container, open /home/oracle/OraHome_1/j2ee/DevSuite/config/default-web-site.xml and change the port number to 8890:
    <?xml version="1.0" standalone='yes'?>
    <!DOCTYPE web-site PUBLIC "Oracle Application Server 10g XML Web-site" "http://xmlns.oracle.com/ias/dtds/web-site.dtd">
    <!-- change the host name below to your own host name. Localhost will -->
    <!-- not work with clustering -->
    <!-- also add cluster-island attribute as below
    <web-site host="localhost" port="0" protocol="ajp13"
    display-name="Default Oracle Application Server 10g Java WebSite" cluster-island="1" >
    -->
    <web-site port="8890" protocol="http"
    display-name="Oracle Developer Suite 10g instance of Oracle Containers for J2EE Web Site">
    <!-- Uncomment the following line when using clustering -->
         <!-- <frontend host="your_host_name" port="80" /> -->
         <!-- The default web-app for this site, bound to the root -->
         <default-web-app application="default" name="defaultWebApp" root="/j2ee" />
    <!-- Do not delete this line. -->
    <web-app application="forms" name="formsweb" root="/forms" />
    <!-- -->
    <!-- <web-app application="forms" name="formsweb" root="/forms" /> -->
    <web-app application ="reports" name="web" root="/reports" />
    <web-app application = "reports" name="demo" root="/repdemo" />
         <!-- Access Log, where requests are logged to -->
         <access-log path="../log/default-web-access.log" />
    </web-site>
    I restart the container, start Form Builder, connect to the database, and open my test form.
    When attempting to run the form, the URL "http://127.0.0.1:33437/Pl0n3ky9vmU5z37A7ScBnQhsGwq3jwuzJpgTAKWPMOYIzT8K" gets called (again a new port number, apparently picked radomly within a certain range) and nothing happens: "Waiting for 127.0.0.1...".
    However, when I enter the URL http://127.0.0.1:8890/forms/frmservlet I do (eventually, after confirming that I trust the certificate etc.) get a darc rectangle and the status message "Applet oracle.forms.engine.Main started", which tells me that my setup can't be that far off target.

  • Mapping a database formely in 9i to run in 10g

    I have migrated my database from 9i to 10g, have also compiled forms in 10g and configured my formwebs and tnsnames which I suspect am not getting right.
    how do I point my migrated database in from 9i to run in 10g and still using the former URL that was being used by users in 9i without moving all over the place changing URL?

    I didn't read your other threads, but the behaviour you're describing is not normal, so I'm guessing you have export file size problems. You could try re-exporting your 9i DB using filesize option :
    C:\> exp \"/ as sysdba\" file=orcl1.dmp,orcl2.dmp,orcl3.dmp,orcl4.dmp,orcl5.dmp,orcl6.dmp,orcl7.dmp full=y filesize=2000M log=orcl,log

  • Unable to run forms in oracle forms developer 10g

    I am using oracle forms developer 10g on oracle application Release 12.
    When i run form i am getting error that weblistener is not running on default port 8888. Then i changed it to 8000. But still i am not able to run the forms.

    Nivas,
    In addition to running OC4J, you must also have your browser configured to use a Java Runtime Environment. The easiest - and preferred - method is to install the Oracle JInitiator as there is not configuration needed other than the installation. You can also use Sun's JRE, but you would have to research how to configure your PC correctly. The other option is to change your FormsWeb.cfg file to use the Browser Native JRE. Edit the formsweb.cfg file and find the IE= directive. The Default is IE=jinitiator. Change this to IE=Native, save your changes and you are done. This is not the preferred solution, but it does work.

    I just installed Developer suite 10g and Database 10g on my pc (10.1.2.0.2) when I run report in Report builder with paper parameter form (I selected only one system parameter : Destination type) I got the message
    Reports Error Page
    Fri Apr 07 09:06:01 GMT+07:00 2006
    javax.servlet.jsp.JspException: REP-56092: No class defined for destination type Screen
    How to solve it? Please give me the instruction or Oracle link that I can get the documents. If someone has the white paper .pdf please give me.
    Hope with help
    Thanks & Best regards,

    Thanks for the tip.
    Correct me if I am wrong but you have set up SLED SP1 connecting to an OS like (RHEL 4/OEL 4,SuSE 9) using VMWare Server. What OS is SLED?
    I chose SUSE 10.3 as its free and I want to set up apps server for purely training purposes. Do you know of a free linux OS that is certified to run AS 10g 10.1.2.0.2?
    Thanks
    Jon

  • Running Forms on oracle Application 10g(9.0.4) on terminal Server

    oracle application Server Installation guide for windows states that
    Oracle Application Server is not supported on Windows operating systems that
    include Terminal Services (for example, Windows NT Terminal Server Edition and
    Windows 2000 with Terminal Services are not supported).
    My Remarks : It means Oracle Application server cannot be installed on the Windows server on which Windows Terminal Services are on.
    Please consider the following deployment scenario
    Server 1
    OS : Windows 2000
    Software Installed : Oracle Database 10g
    Server 2
    OS : Windows 2000
    Software Installed : Oracle Application Server 10g(9.0.4) on which Forms and Reports are deployed
    Server 3
    OS : Windows 2000 as Terminal Server
    Software Installed : IE 6.0 , that will act as Client Machine.
    I have following Queries
    1. Oracle does not allow OAS installed on Terminal Server, will it allow Terminal Server( Server 3) to act as Client and to run web base forms and reports on it.
    2.
    In case It allow to run forms and reports on Terminal Server ( Server 3) does it means thin client machines connected to Terminal Sever can access Forms and Reports.
    Thanks and Regards,
    Ankur Diwan

    The bottom line is that we don't certify running Forms using the features of a terminal server to serve up any part of those Forms. That doesn't mean it does not work, but its not certified or supported.

  • Error running forms 10g on OC4J

    Hi everyone,
    I installed Oracle DB 10g and Developer Suite 10g (did not install Ap. Server) at the same machine (different homes), everything seemed to be OK, I use sqlplus with no problems, then I did this:
    1) Created a table with just one field
    2) Created a test form with Forms 10g using wizard with just that table and that field (I connect to oracle with no problems on forms builder)
    3) Started OC4J Instance (but i have to leave the command prompt opened to run well)
    4) When I run the form, it opens Internet explorer then shows Oracle application server forms service, but with this message ORA-12560 TNS: Protocol Adapter error, I click OK and ask me for a user and password, but the same error!!
    IS there any configuration that I have to do on OC4J?? Why I can connect to oracle from sqlplus, enterprise manager and so, but it fails running forms, specifically when open OC4J???
    Thanks in advance

    Is it .../forms/registry.dat or .../forms/registry/Registry.dat?
    Let's go back to this post. I asked you to try a URL to your form in a browser window, not Forms Builder. The 2nd part of your answer, you said...
    But if the OC4J instance is NOT running I have
    message says FRM-92120: Registry file
    http://walaa:8889/forms/java/oracle/forms/registry.dat
    is missing."If your OC4J is not running and you try a URL from a browser, you should be getting a "Cannot find server or DNS Error", not an Oracle error. The only way I could reproduce your error above was to run from Forms Builder with OC4J started and having manually renamed my Registry.dat.
    If you didn't edit your Registry.dat (and possible hose it), then someting just went wrong during the install. You could check you installation log. Mine is at C:\Program Files\Oracle\Inventory\logs\installActions2006-03-11_03-50-02PM.log and has a single line containing "Registry.dat" showing the target location.
    Is this Forms10g R2 on Windows? You could uninstall ODS and reinstall in probably 30 mins to an hour. Maybe you want to consider that.

    Did you save the form before running it, in the context of the builder? there is a known bug in this area.
    Patrick.

  • Run form through web

    when i click on the image web run form

    version forms6i, reports6i.

    Hi,
    Your config-file fragments look okay. Removing the userid from formsweb.cfg will not make any difference. Chandra, please tell us what is happening on the remote machine and web browser when you call your webforms application.
    This is a wild guess, but on the remote PC, when you call webforms for the 1st time, you are prompted to download JInitiator. Is this happening?
    Also, did you check that JInitiator is installed properly in: "Start menu -- Control Panel -- JInitiator 1.3.x.x." If it is not there you might be a restricted user on the remote (client) PC. You must be at least local administrator to install JInitiator.
    Question: Did you add the config to the URL?
    Something like: http://<server-machineIP:port>/forms/frmservlet?config=myapp (from the FORMS_PATH I expect that you are running 10g rel. 2). Or are you running 10g rel 1 (version 9.0.4)? In that case use FORMS90_PATH instead.
    Question: Is the default configuration working? (http://<server-machineIP:port>/forms/frmservlet)
    Hope it helps,
    Kind regards.

  • Running forms 6i on a 10g database

    We are encountering problems running forms 6i on a 10g database. the forms keep dropping and we get ifrun files with access_voilation c0000005 error. Has anyone encountered this problem

    Some breaking news - we are planning to certify 6i against 10g - but as Frank points out - you will be required to patch up - we are targetting Patch 17.
