Run on a Windows 64-bit operating system either as a native application or under WOW64

I am using Visual Studio 2013 Professional, and need to compile my application in a way that it works with existing libraries on my system that are only 32 bit.
I read this someplace ....   "When you compile an application, you can specify that it should run on a Windows 64-bit operating system either as a native application or under WOW64 (Windows 32-bit on Windows 64-bit). WOW64 is a compatibility
environment that enables a 32-bit application to run on a 64-bit system. WOW64 is included in all 64-bit versions of the Windows operating system."
Can anyone tell me HOW I "specify that it should run on a Windows 64-bit operating system either as a native application or under WOW64 (Windows 32-bit on Windows 64-bit)."  ?

• Flash Player for Windows 32-bit operating system

I feel so stupid ....
and I am also exhausted after trying to find a solution (which is not too technical for me ... ) to my problem:
I use a Dell portable PC System 1555 with System 7  64-bit operation system. I need of many reasons Flash Player (my grandchild tried to play games on internet and only get a "red cross" upper left when pushing the Play-button...) and I understand that Flash Player s is not finished yet from Adobe coming to 64-bit systems.
Now I also tried to install a streaming music program but got message back that I need to install Adobe Flash Player...
I have not been able to find an "easy" way to get my PC working with the 32- bit Flash Player as I understand shall be one solution to my problems.
I am a retired person not too clever technically, and am just wondering if it is possible to get an relatively easy instruction how to solve my problem.
By phone did Dell Norway give me the advice to contact the Adobe User Forum as Dell could not help me.
Thanking you, my advisor, much in advance !

Thank you, all my good friends here at the forum, you have been very helpful.
I have read all the good advices and threads and have tried many things and the problem now seemed solved. The "trick" was probably to deactivate the ie64 bit browser and activate the ie32 bit.
Now I can again enjoy to open programs which need the Flash Player and I am able to enjoy a program providing streaming music to my portable Pc.
Again, thank you all!

• Can I install AMD Graphics Drivers In Windows 32-Bit Operating System...

Please Help Me And Advised me ..
How TO install Amd Graphis Drivers In 32-Bitt Windows 8 System???

Hi:
See if this works.  If it doesn't then you will need to install the supported operating system (W8.1 64 bit).
Download and run the W8.1 graphics driver from your model's support page...Close out of any error windows.
http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareDownloadIndex?softwareitem=ob-135683-1&cc=us&dlc=en&lc=e...
Go to the device manager and click to expand the Display Adapters category.  Click on the Standard VGA Adapter.  Click on the Driver tab.  Click on Update Driver.
Select the Browse my computer for driver software method and browse to the driver folder that was created when you ran the file.
That folder will be located in C:\SWSetup\sp67327.  Make sure the Include Subfolders box is checked and see if the driver installs that way.  Then reboot.

• Do you have Fire fox for windows 64 bit operating systems?

apparently some downloads look for windows 64 bit browsers which this one is load into programs (x86) 32 bit compatibility folder, could you guys create one that will load into the 64 bit folder? (like explorer)

There are no Win64 release builds yet and may not be for at least the first half of 2013.
Those unstable Nightly test builds mentioned above are not officially supported (tier 2 when most are tier 1) as they are more to catch breakage as it is possible to break Win64 without breaking Win32.
In fact the today win64 build of 20.0a1 is crash prone (will not stay open for more than a few seconds) to show it is a use at your own risk.

• Does Adobe Premiere 7 work ok and is it supported under Vista 64 bits operating system

Does Adobe Premiere 7 work ok and is it supported under Vista 64 bits operating system?

No, it's not supported under any 64-bit operating system.
But it seems to work in compatibility mode, which turns on automatically in Vista. It may occasionally suffer a hiccup, but it seems to work for many people.
Just make sure all of your firmware, RealTek drivers and Quicktime are up to date.

Hi claire.winteringham,
If you have a 64 bit machine then there shouldn't be any problem while installing any 32-bit software.
Try to download it with the below mentioned link :

• Can run .exe but cannot use .exe file with 64 bit operating system

I built an application in labview (32 bit) in xp. The exe file generated from the labview 2009 is able to function well in windows vista (32 bit). For this i installed run time engine and since my application requires vision tools so i also installed the vision run time engine 2009. The application reads values of a device (from microcontroller) from the virtual com port (through USB).
Now the problem is the .exe cannot response in Windows 7 (64 bit). For this i installed Run Time engine 2009 (for 32 bit) and also vision run time engine. The exe runs but does not read any value from the COM port and does not response any thing.
This is somehow related to 64 bit operating system.
Further to mention, the control input for 'VISA resource name' input of 'Visa Configure Serial Port' block generally detects the COM Port where the device is connected (e.g. COM1, COM2 etc)  and used to display the choices (on drop down menu) but with 64 bit operating system this is not happening.
What could be the possible problem? I would be happy to know if someone has come across this problem or if someone can help me to solve this problem.
Simply i would like to run an .exe application build in 32 bit to run in an operating system of 64 bit. This application has VISA and Vision motion tools.

NI VISA is a software abstraction layer for different physical interfaces (e.g. RS232).
I understood that your application is working with this in order to select and communicate with COM interfaces.
MAX (Measurement & Automation Explorer) is the tool to configure and test NI drivers, in this case VISA.
So if no COM shows up in MAX, you have a malfunction (or missing) installation of VISA.

• Only Pentium 3's do not support running 64 bit operating systems Or there are others processors as well

Hi,
I was told that 'Unfortunately Pentium 3's do not support running 64 bit operating systems.'
However, I really noticed many other people say that I should run a hardware reading program, such as 'SecurAble' to be sure that my processor will be capable to run 64Bit operating systems or not.
Thus, if only Pentium 3's do not support running 64 bit operating systems, then there is no need from running such a program(screen shot below).
I really run this program using Windows 7(64Bit) with HP Laptop Core i5. And this is the reslut:
64-Bit Processing Available
This processor does offer 64-bit modes of operation. This means that this system is able to run the significantly more secure 64-bit versions of Microsoft's Windows XP and Vista operating systems.
The biggest challenge for 64-bit Windows systems is the fact that existing 32-bit device drivers cannot be used by the 64-bit operating system kernel. So if you do plan to try switching to 64-bit Windows, you should be sure to have a means for reverting
to 32-bit operation if your system's hardware turns out to be incompatible with 64-bit operation. Many people have reverted to 32-bit operation after bravely giving 64-bits a try for a short time.
A man should convert his anger and sadness into strength to continue living in this life.

Pentium 4 CPU s may or may not be 64bit capable depending on the specific model.  Intel introduced 64bit versions after a number of 32bit only models. All mainstream later Intel CPU's are 64bit capable.  The Atom processor may be 32 or 64 bit capable.
There is similar path with AMD CPU's, e.g. early Athlons were 32bit only, with later models 64 bit capable.

• HP Laserjet p2015d auto duplex printing with Windows 7 64 bit operating system

I have used the HP Laserjet p2015d with Windows 7 32 bit operating system and have been able to use the AUTOMATIC DUPLEX feature of the printer without problems.
Now, however, I have installed the 64 bit version of Windows 7 operating system and the AUTO DUPLEX does not work and is not shown as being available on the PROPERTIES menu of the printer.
Is it possible to use the AUTO DUPLEX  feature of  the printer with Windows 7   64 bit  operating system.
All replies welcomed!   Aaron in Calif.

Hi Aaron,
Make sure the Automatic Duplexing option is enabled:
Enter Control Panel > Devices and Printers.
Right click the printer icon, then click Printer Properties.
Click the Device Settings tab.
Set the Automatic Two-Sided Duplex Accessory as installed and click OK to save the change.
Now Automatic Duplexing should become available.

• [SOLVED]Can I run a 64 bit operating system?

I want to know if I can run a 64 bit operating system on my laptop. the lshw command says I have a 64 bit processor, so does that mean I can run a 64 bit O.S. because  almost everything else says 32 bit. So, does all my hardware have to be 64 bit, or is it only the processor that matters? I have looked on the internet and it always seems to relate only to the processor, so I don't know if the other stuff matters. My laptop came with 32 bit vista, if that matters. Sorry if this is a stupid question. Thanks.
