Run-time executable using outport

Using LabView 7.0
Using Tools > Build Application or Shared Library
Using OS - Win2000 Pro
Situation: Wrote a small vi which writes to the Data Registers and reads the status register. The vi is basically a modified version of the example from NI, called "Parallel Port Additional Data Register Inputs.vi"
Works GREAT on the development PC.
The Problem:
Created an executable using the "build application" feature of LabView. First installed the LV-RTE on a second PC. Then installed the newly created executable. It gives an error "25 - inport32.vi". The error means that the driver was not loaded. The driver is "cviVXDWrapper.dll".
Re-built the executable. This time using the build option "small target file with
external file for subVIs".
Same error message is obtained.
Copied the dll to \System32 folder. Still the same problem.
Decided to build the application once more, but this time I selected "Create installer".
Installed the whole thing. Installation works great!
But I always get the same error 25.
The target PC also has WIn2000. I tried various parallel port settings. Nothing worked.
How do I overcome the driver not being loaded?
Driver name: VXDWrapper.dll

When you create the installer, you need to click the advanced button and check the Port I/O Support box

  • How to increase RAM & Hard Disk a form at run time can use?

    Question: How to increase RAM & Hard Disk a form at run time can use?
    Explanation:
    I have a problem with a form at run-time. I guess this is due to shortage of RAM/Hard Disk. I want to increase these things so that the form can use more RAM/Hard Disk and it does not crash/cancel. The reason is that when I change/toggle TOOL --> Preferences --> Runtime, Buffer Records and Array Processing parameters, the problem is rectifies intermittantly. That is there is no fix combination of above-mentioned parameters to rectify the problem. After lot of attempts, it gets resolved but only temporarily. Next time I have to modify the form, I get the same problem.
    Please help.

    I am still waiting for an answer to the above question.
    May be Oracle Corp. or anyabody, please guide.

  • How to send data to labview code at run time while using with (or executing the sequence)the teststand

    Hello
    I am new to the Teststand.
    I am using labview8.0 with teststand 3.1
    I have developed some labview codemodules as vi's without using the teststand utility library pallete
    Now i have to run them in teststand.
    While executing them(as a sequence) in teststand,i need to enter the data to the labview code at run time.For this labview front panel should appear as GUI or popup (while executing).Is it possible to do this without using teststand pallete.
    or i need to change the code with teststand pallete(i think it is difficult now to change the code)
    Plz provide a solution to this problem
    Also one more,how and where to use the 'pass by reference' option
    Thanks and Regards

    Hi,
    see your other post http://forums.ni.com/ni/board/message?board.id=330&message.id=13914
    Also, you can, specify to display the front panel of your VI when you specify your VI in your sequence file.
    There are examples, for dialog panel using LabVIEW, in the examples folder of TestStand and on the NI Web Site.

  • Design issue with sharing LV2 style global between run-time executables

    Hi,
    Just when I though that I had everything figured out, I ran into this design issue.
    The application that I wrote is pretty much a client-server application where the server publishes data and the client subscribes data using data sockets. Once the client gets all the data in the mainClient.vi program, I use LV2 style (using shift registers) to make the data global to all the other sub-vi’s. So the LV2 is in initialize mode in the mainClient.vi program and then in the sub-vi’s the LV2 is in read mode. Also, I had built the run time menu for each sub-vi that when an item is selected from the menu, I would use the get menu selection to get the item tag which will be the file nam
    e of the sub-vi and open the selected sub-vi using vi server. This all worked great on my workstation where I have labVIEW 7.0 Express installed. But the final goal is to make exe’s for each of these sub-vi’s and install runtime on the PC’s that do not have labVIEW installed. Of course when I did that only the mainClient.exe program was getting the updated data from the server but the sub-vi’s were not getting the data from the mainClient.exe. I did realize that the reason for this is due to the fact that I had compiled all the sub-vi’s separately and so the LV2 vi is now local to each executable (i.e. all executables have their own memory location). Also, the run-time menu did not work because now I am trying to open an executable using vi server properties.
    To summarize, is there a way to share LV2 style global's between executables without compiling all of the sub-vi’s at one time? I tried using data-sockets (local-host) instead of LV2 st
    yle gloabls to communicate between the sub-vi’s but I ran into performance issues due to the large volume of data.
    I would really appreciate it if anyone can suggest a solution/alternative to this problem.
    Thanks
    Nish

    >
    If the LV2 global is loaded statically into your mainClient.vi, then any
    other application can connect to the exe and get a reference to the VI
    using the VI name. This gives you a VI reference you can use to call
    the VI. Ye
    s, the values will be copied between applications. That is
    why you need to add access operations to the global that returns just
    the info needed. If you need the average, do that in the global. If
    you need the array size, do that in the global. Returning the entire
    array shouldn't be a common operation on the LV2 style global anyway.

    Your app does need to watch both the amount of data being passed across
    the network, and the amount being shared between the apps. You might
    want to consider puttin
    g the VIs back into the main app. What is the
    reason you are breaking them apart for?

  • Run-Time errors using DAQmx and Borland C++ Builder 5.0

    I've written a simple program on MS Visual C++ 6.0 to test my PCI-6014 board and it works fine.
    I copied the code to Borland C++ builder 5.0 and had some linker problems with the .lib files that where solved with borland's "coff2omf".
    Now I've been getting run-time errors when I use the function DAQmxCreateAIVoltageChan()... The error code is -50251: "The specified software component is not available. The component was not loaded".
    But I'm sure that the code is right, since it works fine on MS Visual C++ 6.0!
    That the part of the code where I'm getting the error:
    iErro = DAQmxCreateTask("", &thTask);
    iErro = DAQmxCreateAIVoltageChan(thTask, "Dev1/ai0", "", DAQmx_Val_Diff, -10.0, 10.0, DAQmx_Val_Volts, NU
    LL);
    Thanks for the help,
    Marcelo

    Hello
    Borland enables certain types of exceptions by default which are initially disable in MSVC. You will need to refer to the documentation for Borland Builder on how to disable floating point exceptions. I believe you can do it by adding the following statement to your initialization code, but you should double check this:
    _control87(MCW_EM, MCW_EM);
    These exceptions get thrown because we are doing some floating point initialization underneath. This is not an indication of a bug or a problem of any sort. Apparently you have to this for alot of libraries to work correctly with Borland (OpenGL etc...)
    Hope this helps

  • Run Time error using create_popup_to_confirm in Post_Exit Method

    Hi,
    I am trying to use the create_popup_to_confirm method to display a popup box in order to create a simple confirmation popup box. The transaction is failing with an exception. Following is the Error analysis from ST22
    An exception occurred which is explained in detail below.
    The exception, which is assigned to class 'CX_WDR_RT_EXCEPTION', was not caught
    and therefore caused a runtime error.
    The reason for the exception is:
    Component ID_0001000300140017 Not Found
    Nothing I tried seem to work. I even copied the following code directly from SAP Help in order to try to get the popup box working:
    DATA: l_cmp_api TYPE REF TO if_wd_component,
          l_window_manager TYPE REF TO if_wd_window_manager,
          l_popup TYPE REF TO if_wd_window,
          l_text TYPE string_table.
    l_cmp_api = wd_this->wd_get_api( ).
    l_window_manager = l_cmp_api->get_window_manager( ).
    INSERT `Data where changed`   INTO TABLE l_text.        "#EC *
    INSERT `Do you want to save?` INTO TABLE l_text.        "#EC *
    l_popup = l_window_manager->create_popup_to_confirm(
              text            = l_text
              button_kind     = if_wd_window=>co_buttons_yesnocancel

              window_title    = 'Test: Popup to confirm'
              window_position = if_wd_window=>co_center ).
    l_popup->open( ).
    Now there is one thing that I am wondering that might be causing this, but I don't know for sure. I am executing this code from a Post_Exit method of a method in the COMPONENTCONTROLLER. Since enhancements are in their own container, I don't know if this may be confusing the Web Dynpro App. However the purpose of this enhancement is to show the end user a simple confirmation popup box so that they are informed that they did a particular action. Please let me know if you any ideas. Point will be awarded for helpful answers.

  • Combining package configuration and Execute SQL task at run time

    Hi everyone,
    I have an issue regarding setting values at run time
    I use package configuration to manage different enviroments scenarios (DEV, PROD):
    XML file to store the connections string of SSISConfigDB
    and the actual values of parameters in that SSISConfig DB tables Filtered by ConfigurationFilter column
    Now, one of my packages needs in addition setting at run time value of a flat file name
    i used an Execute SQL task - within the task i read into a variable the file name using command line
    then, the full path of Flat File Connection is set by expression concatenating the root folder and the variable
    the problem is that the variable stays empy! as if the Execute SQL task was never executed!
     Am i doing something incorrect? in the package configuration wizard the configured value are only XML file and the connection string of the DB.
    to summerize - how can i combine package configuration, default value, Execute SQL task and expression at runtime?

    1.EvaluateasExpression=TRUE (Full Path variable)
    2. Do you mean to invlole a ISNULL() function in the expression? if so, no
    3. Of course i recieve a valid value
    4. The Full path expression is evaluated to the root folder - without the portion of the file name
    here is the syntax in Execute SQL Task:
      truncate table OnErrorFlagTable
      Declare @Path varchar(128)
      Declare @FileName varchar(128)
      Declare @SenderID varchar(5)
      Declare @INST_COD varchar(5)
      Declare @Flag int = 0
     Declare @FileType varchar(2)='01'
      Truncate table TraumaRecords
    Select @Path = 'C:\RootFolder\'
     --***Insert into Temp table the file so we can take his name***--
    Create Table #Tmp(Txt Varchar(Max))
    Insert Into #Tmp(Txt)
    Exec master..xp_cmdshell 'Dir *.txt C:\RootFolder\/b'
    select top 1 @Filename = Txt From #Tmp
    Where ISNUMERIC(substring(Txt,1,1))=1
    order by Txt desc
    Insert into OnErrorFlagTable
    Select 2,@FileName
    Select @FileName as TraumaFileName,@FileType as FileType
    Then, in ResultSet TraumaFileName and FileType are mapped
    Expression of @TraumaFlatfileFullPath is
    @[User::TraumaFlatfilePath]+ @[User::TraumaFlatFileName]
    where the variable @[User::TraumaFlatfilePath] is evaluated in variable window (default value)
    and it's value is C:\RootFolder\
    and @[User::TraumaFlatFileName] is the ResultSet of the ExecuteSQLTask
    and for some reason when executed in SSIS return null while in SSMS return the expected value
    Can you try making this into a procedure with required parameters and call it from SQL task to see if you get return value correctly? Use OUTPUT parameters for getting back required values

  • Error -17600 when switching from LabVIEW Development System to LabVIEW Run-Time Engine in Adapter Configuration

    I receive an error message (code -17600) while loading my test sequence after switching from LabVIEW Development System (2009 f3) to LabVIEW Run-TIme Engine using the Adapter Configuration.
    ErrorCode: -17600,
    Failed to load a required step's associated module.
    LabVIEW Run-Time Engine version 9.0.1f3.
    When I switch back to the LV development system, everything is OK, and the sequence loads and runs perfectly.
    My TestStand Engine Version is 2012 f1 (5.0.0.262).
    I'd appreciate any help on this issue.
    Roman

    Hi Roman,
    There are a couple of things you can try:
    1) Determine if the LabVIEW RunTime Engine is corrupted in some way. Create a new simple VI with no sub-VIs, using the same LabVIEW Development system you used for mass-compiling the VIs. Create a TestStand step that calls this VI and ensure it runs correctly. Now switch your LabVIEW adapter to use the RuntimeEngine and choose the "Auto detect using VI version" option.
    Check if the simple VI is loadable and runs without errors in TestStand.
    If the step generates the same error, you should try a re-install of the LabVIEW development system.
    If not, its most likely that there is some VI you are using that is not loadable in the LabVIEW Runtime Engine because:
    1) Some sub-VI is still not saved in the right version or bitness. Open the VI heirarchy of the top-level VI that you are calling from TestStand and examine the paths of all the sub-VIs to check if they were in the folder you masscompiled and re-save any that are outside this directory.
    Also, when you try to close the top level VI, do you get a prompt to save any unsaved files? If so, they could be the sub-VIs that are not saved in the right version. Save all of them.
    Check if you are loading any VIs programatically and if these are compiled and saved in the right version as well.
    2) There is some feature you are using in your LabVIEW code that is not supported in the LabVIEW RunTime Engine. To check this, add your top-level VI to a LabVIEW project and create a new build specification and create a new executable from this VI.
        Right-click "Build Specifications" and choose "New->Application(EXE)".
        In the Application Properties window, select Source Files and choose the top level VI as the start-up VI.
        Save the properties.
        Right-click on the newly created build specification and choose Build.
    Run this executable (it will be run using the LabVIEW RunTime) and check if the VI has a broken arrow indicating that it cannot be loaded and run in the LabVIEW Runtime Engine.
    You might need to examine your code and find the feature which is not supported in the LabVIEW RunTime and find an alternative.
    Another thing i forgot to mention the last time around is if you are using 64-bit LabVIEW with 32-bit TestStand, then executing code using LabVIEW RTE from TestStand will not work since the 64-bit LabVIEW RTE dll cannot be loaded by the 32-bit TestStand process.
    If none of the above steps resolve the issue, consider sharing your LabVIEW code so i can take a look.

    TRJ

  • How to change the view criteria at run time for af:query

    Hi,
    I've a usecase where I need to change the view criteria of the af:query at run time.
    Use case:
    =======
    1) Consider a check box (Show Emps Under Dept 10) in the query panel when user selects and clicks 'Search' button should show the employees under dept 10. If user searches without selecting the check box, the results should show all the employees in all the departments.
    2) I need to have a check box always in the query panel. Its mandatory.
    The way I implemented:
    ==============
    1) Created a transient variable 'Show Emps Under Dept 10' in the EmployeeVO and also created a bind variable bind_DeptNo.
    2) Create a view criteria 'AllEmployees' which has only the transient attribute as the view criteria item and whose value set to 'false' by default.
    3) Created another view criteria 'EmpUnderDept' which has 'DepartmentId' as the view criteria item and whose value set to the bind variable 'bind_DeptNo'.
    4) Dropped the view criteria 'EmpUnderDept' as the 'af:query' panel in the jspx page.
    5) Overridden the queryListener as '#{EmpBean.empSearch}'
    6) Has the below code in the empSearch method as below. When user selects the check box, applying the other criteria 'EmpUnderDept' and setting the bind variable to '10'.
    public void empSearch(QueryEvent queryEvent) {
    // Add event code here...
    QueryDescriptor queryDesc = (QueryDescriptor) queryEvent.getDescriptor();
    ConjunctionCriterion conCrit = queryDesc.getConjunctionCriterion();
    List<Criterion> criterionList = conCrit.getCriterionList();
    List criterionValues = new ArrayList();
    Object criteriaValue = null;
    int criteriaNo = 0;
    DCBindingContainer bc = (DCBindingContainer)BindingContext.getCurrent().getCurrentBindingsEntry();
    FacesContext facesContext = FacesContext.getCurrentInstance();
    for (Criterion criterion : criterionList) {
    AttributeDescriptor attrDescriptor = ((AttributeCriterion)criterion).getAttribute();
    System.out.println("============== attrDescriptor.getName() =================== " + attrDescriptor.getName());
    criteriaValue = ((AttributeCriterion)criterion).getValues().get(0);
    if(criteriaNo==0) {
    Boolean val = (Boolean) ((AttributeCriterion)criterion).getValues().get(0);
    if (val.equals(true)) {
    OperationBinding method = (OperationBinding) ADFUtil.findOperation("ExecuteWithParams");
    if(method!=null) {
    Map params = method.getParamsMap();
    //params.put(key, value)
    method.getParamsMap().put("bind_DeptId", 10L);
    method.execute();
    ADFUtil.invokeMethodExpression( "#{bindings.EmpUnderDeptCriteiaQuery.processQuery}", queryEvent);
    } else {
    //ADFUtil.invokeEL("#{bindings.ExecuteWithParams.execute}");
    ADFUtil.invokeMethodExpression( "#{bindings.AllEmployeesCriteriaQuery.processQuery}", queryEvent);
    But this approach is not working and its always showing all the employees in all the departments.
    Please let me know if there is a way to change the view criteria at run time depending on the values set at run time for one of the view criteria items.
    JDev version am using is '11.1.1.5'
    Thanks,
    Lakshman

    Hi Shay,
    It worked for me without overriding the executeQuery() method in the ViewImpl.java.
    Instead of creating 2 view criteria, I created only one which has both transient variable and the DepartmentId = <bind_DeptId>. With the above code, it worked properly. Now I am using only one view criteria.
    Thank you.

  • Manage query - run time errors

    Hi,
    we have one user working at one desktop which receives error "run-time error 5" followed by "401 Automation error" when selecting the manage query wizard proceeding from the BPC Excel action pane.
    We only have this at one desktop. Any ideas?
    Dries

    Hi,
    You can check the query run time by using T code RSRT.
    1. Go to T code RSRT
    2. Give your query name.
    3. Click on the "Execute + Debug" tab
    4. Various check boxed for Debug options will appear on the screen
    5. Under the "Others" node you will find the check box for "Display Statics Data"
    6. Check this check box and click on continue.
    7. This will execute the query and provide you selection screen if any.
    8. Once the query is completely executed, click on "back" button or simply hit F3.
    9. This takes you to the "Statistic Data for Query Runtime screen"
    10. Here you can take the total of "Duration" column to get the total duration for query execution.

  • How to get the Title and Tcode of a Program during run time

    Hello,
    I am new to abap and I have this question please. Is the a way to get the title, Tcode and Author of a program during run time? I would like to get the name and title of a program or a view or an include during run time.
    Using table TADIR, you can only get the object_name and the author. Is the a way for me to get the Title of the repository object and any Tcode if any is available for the case of a program?
    I loop forward for your respond.
    Thank you.
    Sabina

    You can get it by accessing SYST.
    SY-TITLE for Title
    SY-TCODE for Tcode
    I don't think there is any field in SYST for the Author.
    To get the author name you can use the TRDIR table.

  • Setting FLVPlayback parameters at run time

    Hello,
    Is there a way to change the parameters on the FLVPlayback at
    run time? For example, I create a swf file to play the video
    "my_video", and I set the parameter "autoPlay" to false. I then
    embed the following code into a web page:
    <object
    classid="clsid:d27cdb6e-ae6d-11cf-96b8-444553540000" codebase="
    http://fpdownload.macromedia.com/pub/shockwave/cabs/flash/swflash.cab#version=8,0,0,0"
    width="326" height="266" id="my_video" align="middle">
    <param name="allowScriptAccess" value="sameDomain" />
    <param name="movie" value="my_video.swf" />
    <param name="quality" value="high" />
    <param name="bgcolor" value="#666666" />
    <embed src="my_video.swf" quality="high" bgcolor="#666666"
    width="326" height="266" name="my_video" align="middle"
    allowScriptAccess="sameDomain" type="application/x-shockwave-flash"
    pluginspage="

    </embed>
    </object>
    The video is embedded in the page, and the user can click the
    controls to play the video.
    What I'm wondering is ... can I change the parameters at run
    time by using the above code somehow? For example, can I change the
    autoStart parameter to true, so now the video would start
    automatically when the page is loaded. Or, could I change the
    contentPath parameter so the code would now play a different flv
    file?
    Thanks for any help.
    Bob

    Hi,
    Thanks for the quick response. Your suggestion works almost
    perfectly. I can now change the flv to any flv I want, and it plays
    the video I want. However, even though I am specifying
    autoPlay=false, it still plays automatically when the page loads.
    Here is my actionscript:
    flvPlayback.playPauseButton = myplayPause;
    flvPlayback.seekBar = mySeek;
    flvPlayback.muteButton = myMute;
    flvPlayback.contentPath = newPath;
    flvPlayback.autoPlay = autoStart;
    and here is my html:
    <object
    classid="clsid:d27cdb6e-ae6d-11cf-96b8-444553540000" codebase="

    width="326" height="266" id="xxx" align="middle">
    <param name="allowScriptAccess" value="sameDomain" />
    <param name="movie" value="pokflvplayer.swf">
    <param name="FlashVars"
    value="autoStart=false&newPath=holiday_message_2007.flv" />
    <param name="quality" value="high" />
    <param name="bgcolor" value="#666666" />
    <embed src="pokflvplayer.swf"

    pluginspage="
    http://www.macromedia.com/go/getflashplayer">
    </embed>
    </object>
    Any idea why it will not recognize the autoStart paramenter?
    By the way, I had to change your myFLV.autoStart - autoS to
    flvPlayback.autoPlay=autoStart. The actual name of the parmameter
    is autoPlay, not autoStart. My guess is that was just a typo on
    your part. Thanks again for your help.

  • Install Labview DSC Run Time without SQL Express

    Hi
    I have an application of DSC run time that I tested successfully but now must be installed on a server and my client does not allow install an instance of SQL Server Express because he are already using the Enterprise version. What should I do to not install the SQL Server Express incorporated in the DSC Run Time and use the SQL Server Enterprise already installed on the server?

    Hello Jdrendon
    Did you try to install your application on a PC with an instance of the Enterprise version?
    Maybe another instance of SQL will not be installed in this case, because you already have a later version installed.
    The second possibility is just uncheck the option to install the SQL Server Express when you are installing your application.
    Let me know if it is possible and if it solve your problem.

  • Inckuding run time engine in installer

    Hi,
    I 'd like to know if it is possible to include the LV run time engine using application builder under LV 7.1.1 in an installer file, and if it is where should I find  the options in the application builder parameters.
    Thanks
    olivier

    Hi olivier,
    yes, you can. In the app builder options, Installer Settings, click on the Advanced... button. The option to install the run-time engine should be on by default; you may select which additional components of the RTE should be installed (e.g. the Analyze Vis).

  • Run Time prompts

    Is there a way to input TEXT string in HBR run time prompts using Global Variable (type string) and to save them against accounts(data type text) in Planning 9.3.1?
    In BR the assignmnt is
    Account_Name=[Global_Variable];
    I think this is the issue as I am asigning a text to account using "=" operator.
    The entered text is not getting saved for me. Please help.

    Hi,
    Unfotunately that's not possible, not only in 9.3.1 but also in later versions. You can alternatively use smart lists but of course that's not the same thing.
    Cheers,
    Alp
