Runbook linked to Lotus Notes document?

Hi all -
Has anyone used a link in the runbook tab to open a Lotus Notes document?
In Internet Explorer, if you copy the Notes identifier into the address bar and hit enter, it will launch Lotus Notes and open the document.  If I place the same link in the runbook tab and choose to Load URL, I receive an Internet Explorer error message.
I wonder if anyone has tried this and made it work?
Here is an example identifier:
Notes://servername/85256DEA00522A59/BF25AB0F47BA5DD785256499006B15A4/BF9221E793A33B4D852579EC005CB651
Thanks!
Michelle

After more testing and some pointers from Brian Hayes, I have it working.  If the Tidal client is running via Citrix it won't work.  The Tidal client has to be installed locally on the same machine as Lotus Notes because the document will open in Lotus Notes, not as a web page.

  • Open a Lotus Notes Document as a SPRO HomePage URL resource in Portal

    Hello,
I have specified the link to a Lotus Notes document as a URL to Resource while defining a Service in the SPRO HomePage Framework. This service is called when the corresponding link is clicked from the area group page for ESS.
When I click on the corresponding link in the Area Page, the link is unable to open the certain content due to a security error being thrown. However, the left navigatiopn opens and when we click on the relevant link from the left navigation, the corresponding content is opened as required.
Is there any configuration which needs to be taken care of, to bypass the initial security error? I would really appreciate any available pointer on this scenario.
    Cheers!

  • Lotus Notes documents migration into Solution Manager

We have been using Lotus notes application for maintaining only documentation in our landscape. But now, the plan is to move all the documentation from Lotus notes to SAP Solution Manager and use it as a document management system from now....
Could anyone please answer the following queries:
    1) Does LSX environment help/enhance the migration ?. If not, are there any tools/accelerators/functions/automatic methods for mas uploading?
    2) This documentation is not project specific documentation. Where do you think this must go in Solution Manager?
In the custom area of BPR?. If yes, please do let me know the procedure for the same.
    3) Would it be possible to link the documents to functional domains/ business scenarios/ business processes in the BPR?
    4) Lotus notes provides access to all the versions (Draft/Approved/Reviewed) of a document. Would it be possible to have the same features even in Solution Manager?
    5) What all document types does Solution Manager recognize?.
I think the Lotus notes documents can be converted to 'Word' format and then put in Solution Manager. Besides this, is there any other common format which is recognized by both the tools?
    6) Standard SAP Solution manager does not provide indexed search. So, in order to retrieve a document later what indexing nomenclature/guidelines do you recommend?
Has anyone done/faced with this kind of requirement. The idea now is to use Solution manager as a document management system. The efforts/process/timelines information if already known would be of great help to start with for us....
Could you also provide the trade offs b/n Solution Manager and SAP knowledge warehouse (KW)?
    Hoping for some replies ...

we also had the same requirement to migration from LN to SolMan Documentation base but there is no such tool (yet?)
What you can do you can migrate from any ARIS like platform to SolMan:
    http://en.sap.info/ids-scheer-announces-migration-program-to-aris-platform/4058
You do have versioning in SolMan and you can upload any kind of document via SOLAR01
regarding the indexing you can either use SAP SES or connect TREX, this is documented in the customizing (SPRO)
TREX will also be the prerequisite to make use of KM in SolMan

  • Link in lotus notes to view SAP document

    Dear All,
I have implemented the Z workflows through which I am sending the notification to all the cost centers mentioned in the invoice through rule(Agent determination:Function to be executed). This will cause notification to be sent to SAP inbox as well as lotus notes. Now my requirement is to have a link in the lotus notes to view the FI document & the invoice attached which has cause the mail to be sent to user.
    How can this be achieved?
    Kindly advice.
    Thanks & Regards,
    Sangeeta

    Hello,
To solve this issue you have to make changes in the program RSWUWFMLEC. Please follow the below steps to solve this issue.
    1. Create a custom program by ZRSWUWFMLEC by copying the program RSWUWFMLEC.
    2. Find out the Language of the Appover set in the System.
    3. In the Mail sending function module you will get the language option. You have to set the language as the curent approver / mail recepiant's langue.
    4. Schedule a JOB using the report ZRSWUWFMLEC  and cancel the job which was running with the report RSWUWFMLEC.

Please suggest is anyway can we retrieve document notes url as mentioned above. I can retrieve "subject","bodycontent","from" etc... through IMAP
    Thanks

Just use Google to check if there are the Java API's available for that and make use of them. If it isn't available, then write it yourself.

  • Developing an Add-in for Adobe Reader to insert the PDF into Lotus Notes

    Hi
We currently have a document management solution in MS Word & Excel, where by you can open/create a document click a button that is linked to a macro and it brings a Document Management screen up and allows you to save the file into a new Lotus Notes Document.
We are now trying to get the same functionality into Adobe Reader, whereby a user can open a PDF they have on their PC and then go to a menu item and it will perform similar function to our macro/VB that we have setup in MS Word & Excel.
Does anyone know of anyone who has developed such an idea or could point me in the right direction of where to start developing as I have never developed any add-in/plug-ins for Adobe Reader.
This needs to be done really in Visual Basic, but any help would be great
    Thanks
    Ian

You start by downloading the Acrobat SDK.
In the SDK is information about developing a plugin for Reader, which will require you to obtain a license from Adobe.  Submit the necessary paperwork to see if you are approved.   It doesn’t make much sense to start development if you don’t get approval.
Once approved, you will want a copy of Adobe Acrobat for development as it’s easier than developing with Reader.
Plugins are developed in C/C++ and there are samples in the SDK.

  • SAP XI and Lotus Notes

    Hello,
Is there a best approach followed now to integrate XI and Lotus notes. We have a requirement to create a lotus notes document from SAP R3 using XI.
Any suggestions and successful implementations please...
    Thank you
    Thilothama

    Hello Thilothama,
if you apply SAP XI to connect to Lotus you may leverage the following adapters:
    - HTTP
    - SOAP
    - XINotes (partner adapter)
the choice depends on how much effort you want to spend on the Lotus side.
In case of HTTP you simply develop an agent that processes the request XML. This can be done fairly easy - however this is a proprietary solution since you kind of hard-code the formats.
In case of SOAP you need a little more work. If you use Lotus Domino R6 you also manually have to take case of SOAP request parsing (e.g. using the Microsoft SOAP toolkit or some java-based parser). If you use R7 this is easier since SOAP processing is implemented as part of Domino. Then, your interface is described using a WSDL and this can optionally also be published via a UDDI registry.
In case of XINotes you don't need any work on Lotus since the XINotes adapter is based on NCSO - this means the adapter directly understands notes forms and notes views.
Regarding the payload XML you process via HTTP or SOAP you may leverage DXL. DXL is easy to process on Domino since you can use the DXL Importer classes to directly create/update/modify notes documents within 2 codelines. On the other hand: if you use DXL the sender system should already prepare the DXL - so it needs lots of information regarding your notes DB (replica ID etc).
If you need more tangible experiences you may also contact me directly.

  • Integrating Lotus Notes with Guided Procedure Task

    Hi Experts,
Is it possible to see Guided Procedure Tasks in Lotus Notes. Is this integration possible?
We have UWL in portal to check the tasks.
Instead of going to the portal to open Actions, can we get the task link in Lotus Notes Inbox?
    Thanks,
    Runal

    Thanks George
Using GP APIs we can check tasks for processes through Lotus Notes, instead of going to the netweaver portal's UWL list.
But GP APIs does not support WD ABAP.
So integration of lotus notes with GP is only possible using WD JAVA.
    Thanks,

  • Lotus Notes browser

As a company, we're forced to use Lotus Notes. I have an issue on two out of five MAC computers, (meaning three are OK). The problem on two is that their browser setting for links in Lotus Notes to open to will not stay set. I have made sure their browser settings default to the correct one (one wants Safari, the other Firefox). (Of the three that work OK, two of us are using Firefox and one is using Safari, so either should work.) I've also gone into Mail (though we don't use it), and made sure its setting defaults to the browser of their choice.
Then, in Lotus Notes, I set and save the browser preference in locations and I go into their Lotus Notes address book and do the same there. All addresses related to their internet domain mimic what the OK computers have. These settings stay in place until these two computers are restarted, and then the Lotus Notes browser preferences have to be reset. I cannot figure out what is different on these two computers from the other three!
Another strange issue - on one of these computers, the Lotus Notes browser defaults to "2" whereas the other defaults to Internet Explorer (which is really strange, because IE has never been loaded on that computer!
For the record, all of us are on OS 10.6.3 and our Lotus Notes is 7.0.4. I don't know if this problem would go away if we moved up to Lotus Notes 8, but I understand until the rest of the company moves up to 8, we'd lose our instant messaging capability (with all the PC users). Besides, Lotus Notes 7.0.4 is working fine on three computers running OS 10.6.3. The three computers that are OK are two MacPro 2 x 2's and one MacPro Quad Core. The two computers with a problem are a new iMac 21 and a new Mini, both purchased last December.
Is there some other browser master default I'm overlooking (that I may have forgotten since I first set-up Lotus Notes 3 years ago)? I don't remember this problem earlier, though.
Any ideas to fix this pesky problem would be greatly appreciated. (I've not had any success finding an answer to this on the Lotus Notes forums!)

Ibm uses features not supported by the blackberry browser (and I don't think supported by any 3rd party blackberry browser either).

  • Address book is blank, email client is Lotus Notes

    Hi,
I have a blackberry curve with the OS 5...
my address book is blank, however when i type any alphabet to quick search contacts, i am able to access a Few contacts, Not All.
I tried taking a back up of the contacts, it keeps asking me to turn off the wireless sync:address book >options>wireless syn off.  that does not happen too. i deleted and undeleted the Desktop cical and sync options from the service book.
I have pulled the battery for reset (a couple times) and i end up losing more contacts from my quick search.
I have checked and unchecked all the filters
The contact information does not show for SMS
The contact information DOES show in the call log (and I can view their complete Contacts information from there) but when they call, the name does not appear, only the no. does!
Email client linked is Lotus Notes
the phone shows that i have 850 contacts, but my address book now shows one contacts no. 5 times. this is the only contact i see on my address book.
i am wondering if lotus notes is causing the problem. shall i uninstall it?
    Please help out!

It sounds as though you are using your phone with a BES server, it could be worth talking to your IT support to check everything is setup properly on the server.

  • Lotus Notes access from PL/SQL

    Hi,
I am using Oracle 9i on RedHat Linux AS, and would like to connect to Lotus Notes Domino server version 6.5 running on Microsoft Windows 2000.
I have checked out the jdbc-odbc-bridges from both Easysoft and Sun, but would like to avoid installing 3rd party software on the Lotus notes server.
Anyone have expriences with Lotus' interfaces java/corba, c or c++ ?? Or can link to information!
As far as I know, Oracle have not released a db-link for Lotus notes so I can access the notes databases directly from PL/SQL.
    Best regards,

    Yes it is,
You could use a java stored procedure

  • Object Link to DMS document - does not allow to link to docs not released

    Hi Folks,
I am trying to create an object link from cProjects 4.5 to a DMS document. When I select a document in DMS I am getting the message "26 223 Document <doc_number> has not been released". If I set the status of the DMS document to a released status I am allowed to create the object link.
My question is - why am I only allowed to object link to released DMS documents? I want link to a DMS document regardless of the status.
    Thanks,

    Hi Lashan,
Not sure whether this works, but do check in CFC01 and see "Document Type Dependent Data'
