Running a winbatch processing using webutil_host.host
In 6i form, this is not a problem of clicking a button which run 2 procedures -creating a temp .txt file and bringing up a word document by executing a winbatch .exe file. After converting this 6i form to 10g form. Somehow, the winbatch .exe file is coming up too fast to complete the process. It idles. To solve this problem a message is added after temp .txt file is closed. Although a message with no_acknowledge option is preferred, but does not work!
-- OS: window 2000, Server: linux red hat, Developer 10g.
out_file := client_text_io.fopen(in_file, 'w');
client_text_io.putf(out_file, data_string);
client_text_io.fclose(out_file);
message('winbatch processing... click OK to proceed.');
-- launch winbatch procedure using out_file data:
webutil_host.host(winbatch parameters...)
Any other suggestions? Thanks.
Problem solved. Use SYNCHRONIZE instead of message.

any idea?Try to send some valid data in COMP_CODE.
It seems that SAP is returning some reply which is not fitting your response Schema.
SAP Call is made and problem is in generating response document.
Use the design console to test the view again. and try to see the XML resquest document and response document. Compare your request xml with that in design console. -
How to kill Forms Runaway Process using 95% CPU and running for 2 hours.
We had a situation at E-Business Suite customer (using Oracle VM server) where some of Form processes were not being cleared by form timeout settings automatically.
Also when user exits the form session from front end, the linux form process (PID) and DB session did not exit properly, so they got hung.
They were spiking CPU and memory usage and causing e-business suite to perform slowely and ultimately causing VM host to reboot the production VM guest (running on Linux).
We could see the form processes (PIDs) using almost 100% cpu with "top" command and running for a long time.
Also we verified those Form Sessions did not exist in the application itself.
ie. Using from Grid Control -> OAM-> Site Map -> Monitoring (tab) -> "Form Sessions".
It means that we could safely kill that form process from Linux using "kill -9 <PID>" command.
But that required a continuous monitoring and manual DBA intervention as customer is 24x7 customer.
So, I wrote a shell script to do the following;
• Cron job runs every half an hour 7 days a week which calls this shell script.
• Shell script runs and tries to find "top two" f60webmx processes (form sessions) using over 95% cpu with 2 minutes interval.
• If no process is found or CPU% is less than 95%, it exits and does nothing.
• If top process is found, it searches for its DB session using apps login (with hidden apps password file - /home/applmgr/.pwd).
a. If DB session is NOT found (which means form process is hung), it kills the process from unix and emails results to <[email protected]>
b. If DB session is found, it waits for 2 hours so that form process times automatically via form session timeout setting.
It also emails the SQL to check the DB session for that form process.
c. If DB session is found and it does not timeout after 2 hours,
it kills the process from unix (which in turn kills the DB session). Output is emailed.
This are the files required for this;
1. Cron job which calls the shell script looks like this;
# Kill form runaway process, using over 95% cpu having no DB session or DB session for > 2hrs
00,30 * * * * /home/applmgr/forms_runaway.sh 2>&1
2. SQL that this script calls is /home/applmgr/frm_runaway.sql and looks like;
set head off
set verify off
set feedback off
set pagesize 0
define form_client_PID = &1
select count(*) from v$session s , v$process p, FND_FORM_SESSIONS_V f where S.AUDSID=f.audsid and p.addr=s.paddr and s.process='&form_client_PID';
3. Actual shell script is /home/applmgr/forms_runaway.sh and looks like;
# Author : Amandeep Singh
# Description : Kills runaway form processes using more than 95% cpu
# and Form Session with no DB session or DB session > 2hrs

If you have the same problem with some other unix and DB processes, the script can be easily modified and used.
But use this with thorough testing first (by commenting out <kill -9 $PID1> lines.
Good luck.

Syslogd process uses all available cpu & console app won't run.
I have a Mac Mini (G4 power PC) running 10.5.5. Just recently after several minutes the system never wakes. It just shows the SBBOD. All I can do is hold down the power button and reboot. When the system reboots, using the activity monitor, I see that the process named syslogd uses all available cpu. I can still do things, but the cpu is saturated.
I took a snapshot of the syslogd process, and I can post it here if anyone thinks it might help.
If I activate the console application, the window comes up then hangs with the SBBOD.
The syslogd process uses all available cpu right after reboot, and does so regardless of which user (including root) is logged in. Attempting to kill the syslogd process with the activity monitor does nothingThanks! It took a long time for the disk utility to fix the permissions, but as soon as it did, the logger process calmed down. Looking at the log file now, I see it was my McAfee virus scan causing the logger to flip-out.
I'm now looking for a new MAC anti-virus program. -
I am running WinXP Pro, SP3. I uninstalled and re-installed Firefox and the problem didn't go away. This problem started about 2 months ago. Firefox always worked fine before that. This happens very frequently -- If I have been using Firefox previously, and I closed the program, when I try to re-launch it, about 50% of the time, I need to use Task Manager to stop a persistently running firefox.exe process.
See the "hangs at exit" section of the [[Firefox hangs]] article.

Thanks,
SaravanaIn 10.1.2.0.2 you need to create your own build.xml
I have found an example, it may be of some help. This does call a property file

Run commands on remote Hyper-V host in different domain/network with powershell
Hi experts,
My Setup: Windows Server 2012 R2 / SCVMM 2012 managing localhost and other Hyper-V hosts
I need to run a script on the remote Hyper-V Host which is in different domain/workgroup using powershell.
I have tried
Invoke-SCScriptcommand cmdlet. But I am getting the below error
Error (2917)
Virtual Machine Manager cannot process the request because an error occurred while authenticating MY-PC-15.mydomain.local. Possible causes are:
1) The specified user name or password are not valid.
2) The Service Principal Name (SPN) for the remote computer name and port does not exist.
3) The client and remote computers are in different domains and there is not a two-way full trust between the two domains.
The network path was not found (0x80070035)
I tried the 'Run Script Command' option in the Host tab in VMM. But getting the same error.
Checked that it uses the 'Invoke-ScScriptcommand' PS cmdlet.
Could someone explain how to run scripts on remote Hyper-V host in different Domain/Perimeter network ?
Regards,
SaleemHi Saleem,
Please try to follow the article below to regarding using command "enter-pssession" across domains :

(I tested it in my lab )

Can't run any program that uses Adobe Air
I have updated Adobe air to the latest. Now when I run a program that uses Air the Adobe Air Updater launches and that is as far as I get. I then have to force quit the Updater and the program I ran (ie SVBuilder Pro).
Here is the log.

Webutil_host.host problems (bugs???)
Hi,
I'm using the webutil_host.host(commandline) command to execute batchfiles on a client pc. These batch files are also echoing messages to the screen. In the client server version, when I use the host command, the messages appear in my ms-dos box. With webutil they don't.
The same goes for the pause command in a batch file. When there is a pause command in the batch file to give the user the possibility to read the messages on the screen and wait for user interaction, the ms-dos box doesn't respond on my key-stroke. I have to close the ms-dos window by clicking on the upperrightcorner cross.
imo this is unwanted.... Is there a workaround? Or do I have to live with the fact that webutil_host.host != hosti'm using the webutil host command to execute batch files on the client pc. One function of these batch files is to start SQL*loader to read data-files on the client-pc. This is the core of the application, since the data in the datafiles is the base of the rest of the process.
Because this is such an important part it is decided to give outputs to the ms-dos console and put pauses in the batchfile, so the process of reading the data-files can be evaluated.
Since this is a migration traject (moving from c/s to web) my customer doesn't want any functional changes (like outputs to logfiles instead of ms-dos window). -
Communication between thread in the same process using file interface.
Hi,
I am developing driver and i need to communicate between two thread.
>can anyone guide me on implementing communication between two thread in the same process using File Interface. First thread will be driver and second will be application.I need to send IOCTL like commands using File interface ie is WriteFile(),ReadFile()
from Host process to driver through file-interface(which run's in driver context).Host process should not be blocked for the duration of the driver to process the command.
>File-interface will run in driver context and it will be responsible to receive command from application and pass it to the driver.
what are the complexity introduced?
>Can anyone also give me the link/reference to get more information on this topic?
>How to replace IOCTL command's for instance baud _rate change command with a file interface for example with IRP.Here is the detailed query:
Hardware Abstraction Layer will interact with Driver(Both will be running in complete different process) .there is a IOCTL for command and File interface for read and write.
My requirement is:
Both should run in the same process so HAL will run as one thread and driver as another thread in the same process .I don't want HAL to wait for completion of request and also i don't want driver to be blocked .
We are planning to use a File Interface for communication between Hardware abstraction layer and Driver
HAL will send the command or read/write operation to a file interface and driver will get the command or read/write request from the File interface
There is a flexibility to change Hardware Abstraction layer and also the Driver
Is it possible to use IOCTL between two thread under same process? if not what other options do we have.
Can we use File interface to send command (like IOCTL) between two thread? -
Oracle EM Grid Control Error: Failed to run command in process
I am trying to change "Backup Settings". After entering the Host Credentials, when I click the OK button, I receive the following error message.
Validation Error
Examine and correct the following errors, then retry the operation:
Error - Connection to host as user <user> failed.ERROR: Failed to run command in process
Any Suggestions? Thanks in advance!Hi,
If you are using linux/windows the hostname credentials should be the user who has installed the oracle 10g database software, if Windosw the user you are using need to be member of the ora_dba group and have Local Security privilege 'Log on as a batch job'.
What you need to do is go to start----> Programs----> admin tools----> Local security policy --->local policies ---> user rights assignments
In the list to your right, look for 'Log on as a batch job', double click and add the same OS local user you using to access OEM web to the group.
I hope this will solve your problem.
Cheers,
Francisco Munoz Alvarez

RequestTimeoutException error while invoking a BPEL process using RMI
Hi,
I am getting RequestTimeoutException error while invoking a BPEL process using this code:
Locator locator = LocatorFactory.createLocator(jndiProps);
String compositeDN = "default/"+processName+"!1.0";
Composite composite = locator.lookupComposite(compositeDN);
String serviceName = "client";
Service deliveryService = composite.getService(serviceName);
NormalizedMessage nm = new NormalizedMessageImpl();
nm.getPayload().put("payload", requestXml);
NormalizedMessage res = deliveryService.request("process", nm);
responseMap = res.getPayload();
The error stack trace is

at com.gss.common.bo.BpelUtil.invokeBPELProcess(BpelUtil.java:81)
To add to it the BPEL process is executing successfuly and RMI call timeout is happening.
Can I know how to increase the related timeout value?Have got the same problem. Scenario at my end is little different though.
I am trying to invoke a BPEL process from an ESB Service.
I am trying to look into it..
However, would be grateful, if someone can give some insight into this since many are running into this issue without being able to fix.

When MRP run through background process in MDBT open PR and PO not comming?
Hi,
When MRP run through backgroung process in MDBT open PR and PO not coming in MDBT result.
Pls advise accordingaly.
Regards
rkRam,
Either I am totally misunderstanding your statements, or your business people are misinformed.
The output of MD01 (MRP total run in foreground) and the output of MDBT (MRP total Run in Background) ARE IDENTICAL, provided you have selected the same parameters.
Neither output contains a discrete listing of open Purchase orders and Purchase requisitions.
Standard output of both MD01 and MDBT are:
1. List of materials processed, with exception messages
2. Statistics
In addition, both of these programs also write MRP records to the MRP databases, provided that the "Display Material List" parameter is set. In this case, both of these programs will produce data that can be further reviewed and managed in MD05 and MD06. MD06 is the tool that most planners use to process the MRP database info.
If you wish to see a listing of the entire MRP results (either MD01 or MDBT), then execute transaction MDLD. This will produce either a spoolfile or a printed document.
For the PO or PR listings, review my earlier suggestions.
Rgds,
DB49
