Running calculation on the global variable

Hello All,
I'm facing some requirement with OBIEE answers. I'll try to explain.
I have following table:
Name,    Amount,
Beer,     1500,
Car,       2400
Laptop,  2000
During the draw above table, there is one calculation work on Amount field. For example:
if(Amount < 1500 )
     GLOBAL_VARIABLE = GLOBAL_VARIABLE + 1;
if else (Amount >= 1500 and Amount < 2000)
     GLOBAL_VARIABLE = GLOBAL_VARIABLE + 2;
if else (Amount >= 2000 and Amount < 2400)
     GLOBAL_VARIABLE = GLOBAL_VARIABLE + 3;
else
     GLOBAL_VARIABLE = GLOBAL_VARIABLE + 4; etc...
After we need to show GLOBAL_VARIABLE on the analysis.
BR,
Eba

case when Amount < 1500 then
     GLOBAL_VARIABLE + 1
when Amount >= 1500 and Amount < 2000
then     GLOBAL_VARIABLE + 2
when Amount >= 2000 and Amount < 2400
then     GLOBAL_VARIABLE + 3
else
     GLOBAL_VARIABLE + 4
end
other way also can do
GLOBAL_VARIABLE+ case statement and just 1, 2, 3. instead of adding to GLOBAL_VARIABLE

  • Running Business Rules with global Variables in Composite Forms

    Hi,
    I am having trouble running Business Rules, that include Global Variables, in composite forms.
    I have two forms in the composite form, both have entity in Page dimension set to 'local'. one includes entities at level 3 and the other has entities at level 0. I need to pass this level 0 entity to the business rule, from the form.
    When i try to run the rule, it gives me the following error:
    "This rule cannot be launched because it has hidden rtp variables without default values "
    I get this error even when i set the default value for the global variable.
    This rule runs perfectly when run from the individual form (which is part of the composite form).
    Please help.
    Thanks.

    Known Issue: 9900514
    The Use Members on Data Form and Hide Prompt options for business rules attached to composite data forms apply only for runtime prompt values from the globally shared pages and POVs of a composite data form. In other words, this will only use members that are shared across all component data forms. If users want a business rule to take context from a single component data form, they should attach the business rule to that component data form and include the business rules for that component data form at the composite data form level (<Business rules for componentX>).
    Please let me know if this is not what we are talking about.
    Thank you,
    Todd Rebner

    how can we deinitialize the global variable........?

    It would possibly be more performant to...
    DBMS_SESSION.MODIFY_PACKAGE_STATE (DBMS_SESSION.REINITIALIZE);
    Bearing in mind that reinitialize is not exactly the same thing as deinitialize ;-)

  • How to get the value of the global variable of test stand in labview User interface?

    Hi.
     Can anyone Please share examples and tell me to how access the test stand global variable using labview user interface.
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

    I'm not surprised that what you are doing doesn't work.  The Start Execution UI Message is triggered when the user clicks a button to start an execution.  Realize that most executions go through a process model.  So you could be looking at the sequence context of the process model and not your client sequence file.
    I recommend reading that link I posted above.  UI Messages are your best bet but you cannot just piggy back on an existing UI Message like this.  They may not be getting sent at the time you need them to be.  The only way to ensure you get what you want is to trigger one yourself at the right time.

  • How to pass the global variable in enter_query mode

    Dear Friends
    I am calling the form and in enter_query mode ,but my global variable is not pass to the form when it is in enter_query mode , me be the field is clear after the enter_query is called ,in which triger do I have to keep my variable
    :H_DOC_CODE := :global.offer_no ; so that it will be assign to the field
    :H_DOC_CODE this my script is keept in
    WHEN-NEW-FORM-INSTANCE.
    waiting for your valuable answer.
    best regards
    Jamil Alshaibani
    -- this my script
    DECLARE
         V_STATUS NUMBER;
    BEGIN
         :system.MEssage_level := 25;
         :GLOBAL.V_STATUS := 0;
         CLEAR_FORM(NO_VALIDATE);
         enter_query ;
    :H_DOC_CODE := :global.offer_no ;
    END;

    I'm not quite sure what you mean with
    But the document number is not pass to the called form field and : H_DOC_CODE is a field in the called form.Do you want that the form is in ENTER-QUERY-mode and the field H_DOC_CODE contains the field of the GLOBAL?
    Or do you want to automatically execute a query with that H_DOC_CODE.
    For the first, you have to assign the global in the WHEN-NEW-RECORD-INSTANCE-trigger instead of the PRE-QUERY:
    IF :SYSTEM.MODE='ENTER-QUERY' THEN
      :H_DOC_CODE :=:global.offer_no ;
    END IF;For doing an automatic query the suggested solution with the PRE-QUERY-trigger is right, but you would have to issue an EXECUTE_QUERY in the WHEN-NEW-FORM-INSTANCE instead of an ENTER-QUERY.

  • The global variable panel has a menu item under OPERATE called REINITIALIZE ALL TO DEFAULT. How can all global variables be reinitialized at to their default values at program startup?

    Each time I restart my application, I would like all global variables to be reset to their default values without having to reset each one individually. Can I do this? If so, how?

    Sure you can do it. Enclosed is a VI which checks all VIs in memory and reinitializes any that are of type Global VI.

  • Tables to get the hierarchy used for the global Variable

    Hello,
    we are using a characteristic Reporting Unit "ZCS_RDRUN" with a input ready variable "ZCS_RV_MM_REPUNITHIER_RDM".
    The reporting unit is a hierarchy characteristic and the variable is a hierarchical variable of type Hierarchy node variables fixed to a hierarchy we are using for this query. We do have selected a hierarchy for the input ready variable e.g. Total Group. My question would be is it possible to read out the selected hierarchy of the input ready variable from a table? If YES, from which table? I know that we could read out all input ready variables but i dont know how to read out the hierarchy selected for the input ready variable of type "Hierarchy node variable".
    I would be very thankful for all your help
    Thanks and kind regards,
    Muri

    You check the query run times and other details in the work load analysis (ST03) or using the table RSDDSTAT .
    inorder to check the information using the above two methods -make sure the Bi stats are maintained in your system

  • Creating global variables

    Hi,
    I am searching for the best way to create global variables so that the script can work on all adobe reader versions . I tried gobal.varibaleName at the initialize event of the form, but it is only working in the earlier versions of designer. I tried using script variables, but it always initializes the variable to string value. I have wrote some functions on the script object, and every time any functions fails, a  global variable count gets incremented. At the potsave event of the form if the count value is greater then 0 , a simple warning message is displayed . Now how to declare and initialize and increment this count variable so that the script can work on all the versions of adobe reader ?

    You need to change your code little bit..
    First,
    All Global Variables are String Type. If you use a "+" sign to add a number it will treat the value as string and append at the end.
    So if you want to do numerical calculations on the global variables first you need to convert them to the right type.
    In the below code I am parsing the value to an Integer type first before I increment it.
    Second,
    You have created a variable of name "count" which could be a reserved name. Try to avoid the reserved names for variables. So I created a variable "intCount".
    Third,
    After incrementing  value if you want to assign the value back to a Global variable you need to conver it to String type. (the opposite way like you did earlier in step 1 by converting String type to Integer)
    var a = parseInt(intCount.value) + 1 ; //Step 1
    intCount.value = a.toString();   //Step 2
    var b = parseInt(intCount.value) + 1;  //Step 3
    intCount.value = b.toString();  //Step 4
    Thanks

  • How can I run two different vi's in same project which are accessing same global variable with out effecting the speed of the execution of both the vi's

    Hi
    I have build an Labview project with FPGA target .  I have configured an FPGA VI and an host Vi to acquire data and logged the data to a file and stored the latest data in a global variable simultanously. I have configured one more VI in the same project  to access the global variable.  I have build a dll to access both the VI as functions in LabWindows/CVI code.  My task in CVI is to update configured GUI with latest data periodically and run the  host VI continously for a long time and log the data to a file. GUI should update for every one second with latest data for this I am using the second VI in which I am accessing the global varibale in which the latest data has been stored in host VI.

  • How does a global variable affect the runtime of optimisation-function fminsearch?

    Hi,
    my function "fmintest" needs 254s ~ 4min to finish calculation in Mathscript, while Matlab needs
    3s!!! I need the sorfware for data processing in a real time measuring system, where the calculation have to be done within 5 seconds.
    In the Mathscript-help I found the following (global -> details):
    If you call this function from a MathScript Node, LabVIEW operates with slower
    run-time performance for the MathScript Node. To optimize the performance of the
    MathScript Node, remove this function from scripts.
    How can I remove needed global variables in the fminsearch function handle? Is the system faster if I would/can remove the global variables?
    How can I avoid Mathscript-breakdown after saving changes to m-files and restarting them again?

    Hi,
    can you provid a VI and not only your m-files? It will be easier to help you!
    Can the customer provide a VI that demonstrates this behavior, rather than just providing the m files?
    Also, the Help file says fminsearch is not supported by the
    LabVIEW Run Time engine, so please take that in mind. If you want to build an application you cant use this function.

  • Use of global variables like g_cnt_transactions_transferred in the LSMW

    Hi SapAll.
    when i had a look at the some of the LSMW's whic use IDOC as the object of uploading data into SAP from external Files i have found in the coding under the step "Maintain Field Mapping and Conversion Rules" that they use some of the global variables like below
    .if p_trfcpt = yes or sy-saprl >= '46A'.
      EDI_DC40-DOCNUM = g_cnt_transactions_transferred + 1.
    endif.
    .EDI_DC40-CIMTYP = g_cimtyp.
    .EDI_DC40-MESTYP = g_mestyp.
    .EDI_DC40-MESCOD = g_mescod.
    .if p_filept = yes.
      EDI_DC40-SNDPOR = g_fileport.
    elseif p_trfcpt = yes.
      EDI_DC40-SNDPOR = g_trfcport.
    endif.
    my doubt is where i can find these variables 'g_cnt_transactions_transferred ','g_cimtyp','g_mescod','g_fileport','g_trfcport' in the LSMW and what is the use of the variable  'g_cnt_transactions_transferred ' in the LSMW.
    I have treid to find out the above listed variables looking in step 'Maintain Field Mapping and Conversion Rules' under global variabels list and the other lists also but i couldnt found.
    can any one help me in this ?
    regards.
    Seetha.

    Hi Seetha,
               In the LSMW Workbench go to the option user menu.  And check the option display conversion program.
    Now when you execute with the radio button on dislplay conversion program, you ll see the code that got generated in the background while you built your LSMW.
    The global variables that you have mentioned are bound to be there in this program generated in the background..
    You can put a break point here and see for yourself what the value of these global variables are at runtime.
    File port, TRFC port , no. of transactions executed by one run of the LMSW Idoc program , message type are some of the fields that you have asked for .

    Arun

  • Can LabVIEW global variables be shared between UUT sequence steps in the parallel sequence model?

    Sorry for this simple question,  I'm having a hard time finding this answer.
    If I launch a sequence to run on two UUTs in the parallel sequence module,   can I get both UUTs to run LabVIEW vis that use global variables such that :
    1) UUT 0  executes 20 LabVIEW Vi  steps asynchronously,  5 of which access data from LabVIEW global variables A, B, C (Strings)
    2) UUT 0 executes the same 20 LabVIEW based steps asynchronously  5 of which access data from then same LabVIEW global variables A, B, C (Strings)
    I am a little worried that using file globals may have some delays or more of a race condition than using native LabVIEW global variables like in a single labview application perform.
    QUESTION 2:  Are file globals actually written to the hard drive and shared between parallel sequences through file transfer?  OR  are they in memory?
    Brad Whaley
    LabVIEW Certified Engineer

    Hi bdwhaley,
    Are your parallel sequences only reading from the global variable? Or are they writing to the variable as well? If it is just reading, then you should be okay. File globals are read from memory. Every time they are read, a copy of the data is made in memory.

  • Setting the value of an Application Item (setting a global variable);

    In APEX 3.2.0.00.27, I need to initialize a global variable to 0 to implement a variable for testing to see if anything on the page has changed. Will update to 1 when certain select lists on the page are changed. Have read through some similar questions and replies within the forum as well as other blogs and sites. So, I believe what I am doing is the way to go about this. Unfortunately, my initialization of an application item/global isn't happening yet. here's a rundown of what has been implemented:
    1) created an application item, G_CLASSIFICATION_ID_NEW in the shared components;
    2) created Javascript (JS) function called by addLoadEvent in the page html header region so when the page loads, the G_CLASSIFICATION_ID_NEW global/application item should get set to 0 with the following JS and using AJAX and htmldb_GET:
    <script type="text/javascript">
    function initVars()
    alert("before get initvars");
    var get = new htmldb_Get(null,$x('pFlowId').value,null,22);
    get.add('G_CLASSIFICATION_ID_NEW', 0);
    gReturn = get.get();
    if(gReturn){
    alert(gReturn.value);
    get = null;
    alert("after get initvars");
    alert("before call to initpage");
    addLoadEvent(initVars());
    </script>
    I've used the htmldb_Get with success for populating other global variables and running On Demand Processes with onchange JS calls in the html form element attributes within select lists on the page. Afterwards, I can check the globals via the Session window and searching on Application Items. Unfortunately, I'm missing something because my G_CLASSIFICATION_ID_NEW never gets populated when I load the page. The alerts all popup when the page is loaded, so I know the script is being executed when the page loads. the alert(gReturn.value) comes back undefined. And, needless to say, the G_CLASSIFICATION_ID_NEW to 0 is not occurring.
    I've tried the htmldb_Get with it calling an application process and without (set to null). From what I've read, you shouldn't need to call an on demand process to have the get.add set the global variable. Then again, this could be where I'm going wrong. however, as I've mentioned, this works for other functions called from an onchange to populate an application item, but the page has already loaded when the onchange(s) get executed. They may work because the page is already loaded when the onchange is called. My point here is that my other On demand processes are NOT setting or changing the global variables at all. The globals are getting set with the get.add(<app item>, <value>) portion of my other JS functions within the HTML Header region. So, I'm inclined to believe that I don't need the 'application_process=<some_odp>' parameter set, but if that's not true, please let me know. if so, what would need to be in the on demand process--ie, what would be the purpose of the get.add(<application item>, <value>) if I set the global variable in the on demand process because that's the only thing I could think of doing within an on demand process for this?
    If somebody can point out what I'm not understanding or failing to do here, that would be great. I'm doing fine with APEX, but wouldn't consider myself a guru with it just yet. I'm definitely not a JS/AJAX guru, and when things like this go astray, I get bogged down because I'm not sure of the problem. So, I'm hoping you gurus who monitor this forum can get me going in the right direction.
    thanks,
    bob

    Hi Jari,
    Does that javascript work if you place it some of region footer on page 22 ?Yes. I cut it out of the html header of the page, and put it in the footer of the first region on the page. It initializes the variable. Putting it into the footer of the first region on the page should work for me instead of having an extra region on the page that's being picked up from page 0.
    Is your page 22 authentication public ?No. This particular page is set for an ADMINISTRATOR only. That said, I am logged in as an administrator. So, I cannot see why setting authentication should make a difference as long as I have that authentication/authorization. Also, there will be other pages where I want to use this script or a similar script, but again, those pages will not be open to the public. the authentication will be "role" based where a user will not necessarily have to be an administrator, but they will have to have a certain role to access the page. Is there a known problem or something that precludes a html header JS script from doing an addloadevent when authentication is NOT public?
    thank you,
    bob

  • Can I Access the Value of a Global Variable in a Trigger

    I'm using a Global variable in a Package which i use in the BIU Trigger to populate a column. After assigning the value for that global variable, I run an INSERT in the same package. But I find only the default value of the Global variable populated in the column. Can I use a Global Variable in a Trigger? Is there any way to put in a common value across all the tables in an application for all DMLs of a particular session?

    Helios,
    I'm already having the same setup mentioned in the thread. And I'm doing exactly whats given there. But the issue seems to be something different. I'm assigning the value to the Global Variable in the Package through Apex. Here's the Package Code:
    CREATE OR REPLACE PACKAGE Schema1.SPMS_SECURITY_PKG
    AS
    X_app_user_id NUMBER DEFAULT -1;
    FUNCTION USER_ID RETURN NUMBER;
    END SPMS_SECURITY_PKG;
    CREATE OR REPLACE PACKAGE BODY Schema1.spms_security_pkg
    AS
    FUNCTION user_id
    RETURN NUMBER
    IS
    BEGIN
    -- RAISE_APPLICATION_ERROR(-20001,'USER ID'||'*'||X_app_user_id);
    RETURN NVL (x_app_user_id, -1);
    -- RETURN NVL (sys_context('USERENV', 'CURRENT_USER'), -1);
    EXCEPTION
    WHEN OTHERS
    THEN
    RETURN -1;
    END;
    And Here is the Trigger Code:
    CREATE OR REPLACE TRIGGER Schema1."USER_DETAILS_TRIGGER"
    BEFORE INSERT OR UPDATE
    ON PMS_SICAL.SPMS_USER_DETAILS REFERENCING NEW AS NEW OLD AS OLD
    FOR EACH ROW
    BEGIN
    IF INSERTING
    THEN
    :NEW.created_by := spms_security_pkg.user_id;
    :NEW.created_date := SYSDATE;
    :NEW.START_DATE := SYSDATE;
    ELSIF UPDATING
    THEN
    :NEW.updated_by := SPMS_SECURITY_PKG.X_app_user_id;--spms_security_pkg.user_id;
    :NEW.updated_date := SYSDATE;
    END IF;
    END;
    But I always get -1 in the both in the table after the DMLs.
