Running FireFox 7 on Ubuntu, I can't access any java chat rooms - it pretends to load then just stops. any suggestions?
When I try to access any chatroom using FireFox depending on the website it either pretends to load that application but nothing displays OR it tells me that connection is refused on Port 843 and I get a java access security error.
Initially it did work for about 15 seconds when I originally installed Ubuntu and all the apps; but that was weeks ago :-(
And yes I am a bit of a newbie with Ubuntu.
I guess but that was what I was on earlier but it wasn't of much help.
I need to chat with an apple person but don't know how if I don't have a phone accessible.
Is there a way to connect thru a laptop or something?

Something that came to mind after rereading you post relates to the particulars of a "hard" reset on the Snow.
A “hard” reset removes current setting from the base station. You must then connect to the base station using the AirPort Admin Utility and upload AirPort 2.0 or later software to return the base station to its default settings. A base station in a hard reset is only accessible through the LAN port, not via wireless connections ... so attempting to access with the AAU, via a wireless client, will not work.

Adobe no longer supports the installation and use of Acrobat 6 as it is a very old version which is not compatible with Windows 7.
I would suggest you to please use the latest version of Acrobat i.e. 11.0.10 which is fully compatible with your OS with its enhanced features and functions.

Try this:
Go to command prompt (in windows XP, START/All Programs/Accessories/Command Prompt)
Type in following:
Netsh winsock reset
Hit "Enter" key. Restart computer.
Now check & see if iTunes stores is back to normal.
If not, try temporary uninstall your Security software & see if it works. -
After two days of not being able to open Firefox, I found an article on this website which suggested that I create a new profile. I followed the instructions (which never stated that I should first backup Firefox or my old profile) After creating the new profile, Firefox is once again working fine but, I am unable to access important data such as bookmarks and history.
I have followed several suggestion on this website but, I am still unable to find my old profile content.As long as you did not uninstall Firefox and remove personal data, your old profile still should be in the same location. Depending on how messed up it was, here are two options:
'''(1) Use the profile manager to start Firefox up in your old profile and create a fresh bookmarks backup.''' If it didn't run, this won't be useful.
To start in a different profile, Exit out of Firefox and start it up from the Start menu, search box, using
firefox.exe -P
Your old profile may have a name like default.
Then you can create a fresh backup or export of your bookmarks (or both) to a neutral location (e.g., the Documents folder). These articles have the steps for creating these files:
* [[Restore bookmarks from backup or move them to another computer]]
* [[Export Firefox bookmarks to an HTML file to back up or transfer bookmarks]] (note: does not preserve tags you have assigned to bookmarks, if any)

How can I access a dormant chat history without logging onto Skype which will delete the data?
I am posting this question here because many of you will have more technical knowldege about how this works compared to any other thread. I need to access my own Skype IM convos for legal reasons. I have only just realised that I do not have a complete history of chats from the begining of time. It's extremely frustrating that Skype only keeps 6mo worth of chat since Microsoft took over. This happened without any notification from MS that I can recall and it is a major problem for me now. Plan B: I have a Vista machine that I have not used for ages. If I can access the Skype IM chat history on it that will cover at least some of the period I need to access. My problem is, to view the IM chats I need to go online and log into Skype BUT that will wipe the info I need to see when it updates the history and goes back 6mo. It's a catch 22 situation. The info is there but i just don't know how to see it. As an additional complication, I stopped using the machine because there was a strong reason to believe it had a security breach/Trojan on it that antivirus program's could not detect. So I want to avoid going online with that Vista machine but it is possible. How can I view and extract my Skype IM convos without logging onto Skype itself and losing the data I want access? Obviously I know my passwords, so it's not a spying situation that I need to get around. It's very important that I view these old chats and fast. I have Internet access through other machines at the moment and I am not a techie. Can anyone help? You are my last chance.
Thanks Tamim. I had seen that app but was reluctant to try it. Following your post, I tried it and YES it does work. It is a bit cumbersome and will take a lot of work to sift through the CSV file that has every single chat convo combined into one file and not into separate conversations. There are tens of thousands of lines to search through. I am very grateful that the history is retrievable at all . It's just going to take a long time to sift through the data in an efficient and useable way. Unfortunately, with deadlines looming, I have very little time to do it in. Tamim, or anyone else for that matter, do you know of a way that the information can be viewed as a complete conversation between 2 people only?

Can't see/access newly created chat rooms
We have an issue where users can create chat rooms but are unable to see/access them after they're created. Does anyone have any experience with this and knows why this happens and how to fix? Thanks.

Are there any API's exposed for SCVMM 2012 which can be accessed via Java?
I want to monitor the states of VM created using Hyper-V/SCVMM using the Java code.
I have read that for Hyper-V i need to use J-Interop to acess the API of Hyper-V.
Does SCVMM also provides API to get the basic information of VM ? If yes then is there any documentation to access it via Java.

Unless you want to also install Service Provider Foundation (SPF) in front for a web service.

Good signal throughout house but can only access internet in same room
I have a weird problem with my AE. My signal is pretty strong throughout my house. However I am only able to access the internet when I bring my computer in the same room as the AE unit. Accessing from other rooms just leaves me spinning despite the fact that I have a strong signal.
I've tried playing around with interference robustness and channels but there doesn't appear to be anything wrong with my signal strength, just the traffic going over it.
Anybody experience anything similar?A strong signal won't matter if there a significant amount of "noise" as well.
Might it be possible that you may have some form of Wi-Fi interference in the area outside of the room that your able to connect successfully?
I suggest you perform a simple site survey, using utilities like MacStumbler, or iStumbler to determine potential areas of interference...and either, eliminate them or attempt to significantly reduce them. -
Firefox crashes when I attempt t enter a SPCN chat room
Firefox immediately crashes when I attempt to enter a SPCN Chat Room. This forces me to use MS Internet Explorer which i hate to do.
I am told there there is a plug in that solves this problem, but cannot find it.You can uninstall (remove) the Java Console extensions and disable the Java Quick Starter extension, you do not need them to run Java applets.

Create a new profile as a test to check if your current profile is causing the problems.

There may be extensions and plugins installed by default in a new profile, so check that in "Tools > Add-ons > Extensions & Plugins"
If that new profile works then you can transfer some files from the old profile to that new profile (be careful not to copy corrupted files)
