Running on Windows 7, iTunes 11.1 message "a required component is not installed. Please repair or reinstall iTunes. (-45075)" I have done both several times as well as restarted my computer. Any suggestions?
also, when I connect my iPhone 5, running on iOS 7 another mesesage pops up claiming I haven't downloaded the 64-bit version of iTunes, I have tried everything, so any new suggestions would help a lot! thanks
I got exactly the same messages. I have an ASUS A54C, 4GB RAM, i3, Win7 Premium.
I remove, reinstall, erase and everything.

If you are still having issues with that error message, you may need to entirely remove iTunes, then reinstall it. You may find the following article helpful:

Note:
iTunes Store purchases or songs imported from CDs are saved in your My Music folder by default and aren't deleted by removing iTunes. When I started up itunes on my PC I get this error: a required itunes component is not installed. please repair or reinstall ituens (-42404). How can I fixed this? I uninstalled it at least 6 times. Not exactly sure what I'm suppose to repair either. It also says it is syncing my ipod but when I go to disconnect/eject my ipod it says that it is unable to disconnect because files are being used in a program. When it finally disconnects there is no music on my ipod. The gym just ***** with out my ipod. Makes it eiser to not go! Someone please help me!
Use the instructions here to completely remove/uinstall all iTunes/Apple software and componenets and then start from scratch.

Just in case the component being referenced is not part of iTunes but is rather part of one of the other related programs, it might be worth trying a complete uninstall/reinstall of iTunes and related componentry, as per the following troubleshooting document:

Keep getting error message "The registry settings used by the iTunes drivers for importing and burning CDs ....please reinstall iTunes." I have done this several times but it doesn't help.

I can not burn a cd in itnes. When I open itunes it tells me the dirvers for importing and burning cds & dvds are missing. It tells me to reinstall itunes. I have done this and it does not help. How can I solve this problem?

i have taken itunes completely off my computer and redownloaded it several times and keep getting the same messege and not i am getting a messege that itunes needs a repair and i click yes for the repair and nothing happens,
Could you post your diagnostics for us please?
In iTunes, go "Help > Run Diagnostics". Uncheck the boxes other than DVD/CD tests, as per the following screenshot:
... and click "Next".
When you get through to the final screen:
... click the "Copy to Clipboard" button and paste the diagnostics into a reply here. (Use your Ctrl-V keyboard shortcut to paste.) -

I have had itunes for years, but up until 2 months ago the quick time will not initialize to run it.
Try using the Windows Installer Cleanup Utility and delete the iTunes installer. Then try installing iTunes again

Every time I plug my Ipod Nano or Ipad 2 into my computer I get the same error message. Download iTunes 11 from the Apple site and reinstall. The error message was quite plain in telling you what to do to resolve the error.

I restored my iphone but now it will not power on fully. The Itunes plugin appears. I plug it in and restore as requested but the phone never restarts like it says it will. I have done this several times now but nothing. Suggestions?

Try assigning Queen as the Album Artist on the compilations in iTunes on your computer.
