Running OpenScript tests in OTM
Hi,
I added an OpenScript forms functional script in OTM, and when I click on "Run this test", and I see no action. In the Run History, OTM shows in the "Results" column that the test is "Running", although more than hour has passed since starting the test run.
I've tried : System manager from OTM (Tools-> Systems) and enterd my Windows account password, but
it still doesn't work.
Can somebody advise a solution?
Lea
Ok, Lea. Try running the agent service as a console app instead:
OATS Application service - run as a user with local admin rights
helper service - local system
OATS agent service - set to manual
Then, run the agent service as a console app -
1. run a cmd prompt
2. run c:\> C:\OracleATS\agentmanager\bin\AgentManagerService.exe -c C:\OracleATS\agentmanager\bin
AgentManagerService.conf
3. Execute the script from OTM
What version of OTM are you running?
Cheers,
Jamie

Running OpenScript tests in OTM does not work
Hi,
I added an OpenScript functional script (for Siebel) in OTM, and when I click on "Run this test", and I see no action. In the Run History, OTM shows in the "Results" column that the test is "Running", although more than hour has passed since starting the test run.
Are there any settings/configurations I should do to get this to work?
Another questions, could I use OTM to run a group of OpenScript functional scripts as batch testing? If not, how could I run batch OpenScript testing?
Thanks,
ShadiHi again,
I have solved the issue of openscript tests running with OTM. I opened the System manager from OTM (Tools-> Systems) and enterd my Windows account password and clicked "Test", then went back and ran my openscript test and it satarted to work. I wonder why this was not mentioned in any of the documentation files.
I also face the common issue that OTM ignores the think() statement, and don't know how efficient using the delay() statement is and if it actually works.
ISSUE1 Is there a way to force OTM to perform the think() statement? It would be great if we have it as an option.
Regarding batch testing, I created a Schedule Task in OTM, and selected some tests to run as a batch, and it worked. The issue I have here is when I want to clone the Task I ran previously by clicking on the "Clone", it does not include the list of tests I selected in the cloned Task.
ISSUE2 For example, if I have ceated a Task and added 10 tests to it, and later after it was run I want to clone it in order to run it again, the 10 tests are not inculded and I will have to select them manually.
ISSUE3 Is this the only way to run batch testing for openscript (using Task)?
I will try to find a work around for this issue, but hope you guys could help.
Thanks,
Shadi -
Running a OpenScript test from OTM is not lauching the browser
I'm trying to launch OpenScript test from OTM but it's not launching the browser. All it does in background, unable to see whats happening when running the test.
Can anyone let me know what setting I need to correct in OTM to make the browser visible while running the test.Hi,
Stop the OATS Agent service. Open a command prompt and run the agent as a console app using the following command:
C:\OracleATS\agentmanager\bin\AgentManagerService.exe -c C:\OracleATS\agentmanager\bin\\AgentManagerService.conf
Then execute your test from OTM and you should see the browser and script execution,

Hi
I want to add an script from OpenScript into OTM. I know that its possible. i read it in the Document: "OTMTestManagerUsersGuide.pdf" on page 55 (6.1. Adding functional tests).
I want to choose "Oracle OpenScript" from the Type-Field. But it isnt available.
Thanks for HelpHI
OTM started supporting OpenScript in version 9.0, if you are using an earlier version it will not have support for OpenScript.
You can download 9.0 from OTN
PS, there is a version 9.01 out before the end of the year, if you are upgrading may be a good idea to wait for this one.

Unable to run OpenScript Functional Scripts from OTM
Hi,
I am unable to run OpenScript Functional Scripts from OTM, but the same script is running successfully on OpenScript.
I have a script which has all my functions (say Script A) and I am calling these functions from a different script (Script B) and even this script (Script B) uses couple of Databanks.
Added both the scripts to OTM and when I run the script (Script B) which is calling the functions on OTM, I see the below error message.
Error Message: Child script with alias "Proceure_ To_Pay_Functions" not found. Add to the script "Proceure_To_Pay" a script asset with alias "Proceure_ To_Pay_Functions"
But the child script (Script A) with functions is added as a script asset in OpenScript to the calling script (Script B) and this script is running fine from OpenScript.
Can anyone please help me in resolving this issue.
Thanks,
SatyaHi Deepu,
It worked and able to run the scripts developed in OpenScript from OTM. Thanks for your help!!
But I see another problem where when I try to run the script from OTM, I see a window Interactive Services Detection with a Message
"A program running on this computer is trying to display a message" "The Program might need information from you or your permission to complete a task." with Two Options
-> View The Message
-> Ask me Later
When I click on View the Message, I can see my application running by script but my desktop is not visible.
There is another window with Return to Desktop option, when I click on this I can see my Desktop.
Can I not see both my Desktop and application running on the same screen?
Please help!!
Thanks,

I have done a recording in Oracle Applications and I have sucessfully imported into OTM.
Whenever I run that script from OTM, it is showing some error called JIT Debugger error.

Authentication to agent workstation failed when trying to run a test in Oracle Test Manager
I have the complete version of OATS installed on my local machine. I have the OracleATSHelper, OracleATSServer and OracleATSAgent services running.
In OTM when I go to run an openscript test I select the system, type the version number and hit run and get a "Authentication to agent workstation failed" error in the summary field.
It worked before but I cant figure out why it isnt working anymore.
Can anyone help?ATS Version: 12.3.0.1.0 build 376
I am getting the same error when trying to execute a script from OTM - "Authentication to agent workstation failed".
I have the OTM server on a remote (server) machine and the Oracle Agent is running on my laptop / workstation. I've tried all I have seen on this thread, but no progress. The manager is now in manual mode and the console only provides the following output:
D:\OracleATS\agentmanager\bin>d:\OracleATS\agentmanager\bin\AgentManagerService.exe -c AgentManagerService.conf
wrapper | --> Wrapper Started as Console
wrapper | Launching a JVM...
jvm 1 | Wrapper (Version 3.0.3)
jvm 1 |
One different thing, maybe, I see is that the agentmanager_auth.log is empty always.
Also, on the server, I've added this SYSTEM successfully, i.e.the Testing of the SYSTEM added in OTM always gives the success message "The system specified can be successfully accessed by the Oracle Test Manager server." . In fact it does this even when I provide an incorrect password! -
Running OpenScript Application doesn't load the forms
Hi,
I'm new using OpenScript and I'm facing a problem.
I need to create scripts to test a site that implement some Oracle Forms, I can open IE and use the site without problems, BUT when I run OpenScript to create the script, the application doesn't load the forms!!!
After many attempts I found that someone changed the jvm.dll file of the JInitiator, I changed it again to the installation one, and I was able to see the form and recording the script, but when I play the script doesn't load the form!!!!
If I take a look to the screenshots, I can see the forms I recorded.
Now the change I did on the JInitiator only works from time to time!
Finally when I'm using the site and it doesn't load the forms I see this error on the bottom of the page: "error: java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: Activator"
Anyone have an idea of what is happen and how to fix it?
These are the versions I'm using:
OpenScrip: 9.2.0.0 Production - Build ID: 2.5.0.0370
JInitiator: 1.3.1.29
IE: 7.0.5730.131C
Edited by: Zyko on Jan 24, 2011 7:13 AMA screen shot from Mission Control might be enlightening. If you can see the application window in Mission Control, what happens if you move it from one desktop to another? Or what happens if you eliminate one of the desktops?

Remotely trigger tests in OTM?
Hi there,
All my searching is just returning results regarding database triggers, so I'll just ask here... Is it possible to remotely trigger test execution in Oracle Test Manager? I know I can schedule tests for a specific time/dates/etc., but I was hoping to get a step further. For example, we will have an automated process in Hudson that builds the product and then deploys it after there's new code pushed into Mercurial, is it possible to have tests get triggered or kicked off in OTM other than manually or time-based?
Thanks,
-TroyGetting the test to run from the command line was really simple with Appendix A, and it created results saved results to disk... But those results aren't showing up in OTM. Is there a way to import results into OTM? The end goal is to be able to run the tests housed in OTM to take advantage of the reporting capabilities built-in, whenever there is a successful build of our product.
Thanks,
-Troy -

SrinivasHi,
You got these errors because runInstaller can not start the GUI. There are 2 solutions, you can choose one:
1. logout Gnome/Kde, login as oracle user, and run runInstaller again.
2.open a new root terminal,
a) run "xhost +" as root.
b) run "su - oracle" switch to oracle
c) run "export DISPLAY=:0.0"
d) then run "./runInstaller" again.
cheers.
