was thinking of something like this
1) Create a .txt file name 'mysqlfile.txt' in desktop which contains the below statements
Create table A
Create table B
2) Create a .bat file name 'run.bat' and kept in desktop which contains the below statements ( syntax may not be correct though)
sqlplus -s <DBusername>/<pwd>@//<Hostname>:<port>/<SID>@<C:\Users\<username>\Desktop/mysqlfile.txt>
3) Double click 'run.bat'
Any thought?

-Learnsequelit can be made to work;
but it is a run ONCE file since errors get throw on second & subsequent runs

  • NullPointerException when opening a script in SQL Developer 4.0.0.12

    I recently upgraded to SQL Developer v.4.0.0.12 64 bit, and am running into some issues.
    I am running this on 64 bit Windows 7. I have a 64 bit Oracle 11, and in addition have the 32 bit oracle client installed.
    I made an association between the .sql file extension and sqldeveloper64W.exe.
    However I frequently get a nullpointerexception when clicking on a script in the file explorer.
    It seems to occur mostly if I loaded scripts into SQL Developer before.
    If I close all the windows before closing SQL Developer and then click on a script in the file manager, things work (startup is arguably slower than v.3).
    But in most cases either nothing happens, or I get the NullPointerException below.
    What am I doing wrong?

    Wim

  • How run Procedure in SQL Developer?

    I need run procedure in SQL Developer with parameter : 2009
    create or replace PROCEDURE "update_table" (ff_year in varchar2) AS
    CURSOR c_update IS
    select DISTINCT P.mafew name, u.frew nameone, t.greddf, .........
    I click green button RUN and have new window Run PL/SQL. Where in this script I need to print 2009?
    DECLARE

    BEGIN
    FF_YEAR := NULL;
    update_table(
    FF_YEAR => FF_YEAR

    I can run the procedure like 1 or 2 example? Is it right?
    1 like Run Script
    EXEC "UPDATE_TABLE" ('2009');
    2 click RUN on UPDATE_TABLE procedure
    DECLARE
    FF_YEAR VARCHAR2(200);
    BEGIN
    FF_YEAR := '2009';
    UPDATE_TABLE(
    FF_YEAR => FF_YEAR
    END;
    What is the name of the procedure?
    Is it update_tabe (all small letters)? If so, you must reference it as "update_table" (all small letters, inside double-quotes).
    Is it UPDATE_TABLE (all capital letters)? If so, you have the choice of referencing it as "UPDATE_TABLE" (all capital letters, inside double-quotes) or as update_table, or Update_Table, or UPDATE_TABLE, or uPdAtE_taBle, or ... (any kind of letters, without quotes).
    How about commit after?How about it?
    What is the question?
    If you want to commit, say COMMIT or click on the COMMIT icon.

  • Re: Probelems running queries in SQL Developer

    I used to be able to run queries in SQL developer without any problems but now I get the followin message whenever I try to run a query
    "Could not initialize class oracle.sql.CHAR"
    p.s. I also get this: "oracle.i18n.text.converter.CharacterConverterOGS.getInstance(I)Loracle/i18n/text/converter/CharacterConverter;"
    Edited by: user564155 on Jul 26, 2010 1:49 PM

    Might be corrupt settings; backup/delete the SQL Developer/systemXXX directory in the hidden Application Data under your Windows profile to reset your installation to defaults.
    Else, if you run from \sqldeveloper\bin\sqldeveloper.exe, what output do you get in the opened console when starting up and querying? This could help diagnosing the problem.
    Hope that helps,
    K.

  • SQL Developer install problems for Windows 7 Home edition

    Hi there,
    I understand Windows 7 64-bit is not supported for oracle 11gR2 but I installed it anyway.
    This is not my problem.
    I am trying to install SQL Developer and am getting this error when I click on the set up:
    Unable to launch the Java Virtual machine, located at path:
    C:\Program Files(x86)Java\jdk1.6.0_21\bin\msvcr71.dll
    When I check the version of my java it is correctly displaying 1.6.0_21 for my 64 bit.
    I read that you need the 32 bit one installed as well and I do. In my Program Files there is a java and a \jdk1.6.0_21 folder. In the bin directory it does not have this .dll:
    msvcr71.dll
    Is that the problem, because i have heard of other people getting sql developer working on their Windows 7 home laptops but they are old posts and I'm not getting any reply.
    I also changed the Environmental variable for the path, such as:
    C:\Program Files (x86)\Java\jdk1.6.0_21
    C:\Program Files (x86)\Java\jdk1.6.0_21\bin
    C:\Program Files (x86)\Java\jdk1.6.0_21 /bin
    and none of the 3 above worked for me either.
    Any suggestions are appreciated!

    I unzipped the sql developer download to C:\Windows and it unzipped fine. I went into my folder of sql developer, double clicked the sql developer.exe and it asked for the path for java. I clicked Browse and the default was C:\Program Files(x86)\Java\jdk1.6.0_21\bin so I chose the java from this folder. It accepted the argument, tried to start sql developer, and came up with the same error, so something is still not right that I am not understanding??

  • How to run a 10g report in quiet\batch mode

    Good Afternoon,
    Please advise if there is a way to run a 10g report from command line.
    We use 6i right now and our job scheduler runs reports using "D:\ORADEV6I\BIN\RWRUN60.EXE ..." executable in batch mode on a separate server. We plan to migrate to 10g Database, Forms, Reports. Is there a way to keep this functionality and create a "command" to request the report server to run a report?
    Thank you,
    Dmitri

    So the server (we will call it server1) you have "Redwood Cronacle 6.0.2" installed on has a C: drive and a D: drive. On the D: drive is installed Developer 6i (D:\ORADEV6I). You can install Developer Suite 10g also on the D: drive (D:\ORADEV10G for example). After that, setup Oracle iAS on server2. The good news is you have to change very little code. You can:
    Not use the iAS server at all and use the following command (similar to how you are doing it now) in Redwood:
    return 'D:\ORADEV10G\BIN\RWRUN.EXE'
    ||' userid=:USRPWD'
    ||' module='
    ||v_path||'\'||p_module
    ||' batch=yes paramform=no destype=file'
    ||' desformat=' || v_printer_driver
    ||' desname=:OUTFILE'
    ||' cmdfile=:CMDFILE errfile=:LOGFILE';If you want to use the iAS server, you have to consider where the report will physicall exist. You can have it exist on the reports server or you can have it brought back to the client. If you bring it back to the client you will lose the ability to run this asynchronously (or in batch mode). You will have to play with some of these parameters to get it to work perfectly, but this should be a good start. These are examples of have the report results saved locally on server1...not server2:
    1. Use rwclient to submit a report request
    return 'D:\ORADEV10G\BIN\RWCLIENT.EXE'
    ||' userid=:USRPWD'
    ||' module='
    ||v_path||'\'||p_module
    ||' paramform=no destype=localfile'
    ||' desformat=' || v_printer_driver
    ||' desname=:OUTFILE'
    ||' cmdfile=:CMDFILE errfile=:LOGFILE'
    ||' server=server2';2. Use rwservlet to submit a report request
    return 'D:\ORADEV10G\BIN\RWSERVLET.EXE'
    ||' userid=:USRPWD'
    ||' module='
    ||v_path||'\'||p_module
    ||' paramform=no destype=localfile'
    ||' desformat=' || v_printer_driver
    ||' desname=:OUTFILE'
    ||' cmdfile=:CMDFILE errfile=:LOGFILE'
    ||' server=server2';I would think that Cronacle 6.0.2 can submit a url as a job and wait for the results to be streamed back, so you could look into doing that also, in which case the url you would submit for the job would be something like:
    return 'http://server2:7777/reports/rwservlet?'
    ||' userid=:USRPWD'
    ||' module='
    ||v_path||'\'||p_module
    ||' paramform=no destype=cache'
    ||' desformat=' || v_printer_driver
    ||' desname=:OUTFILE'
    ||' cmdfile=:CMDFILE errfile=:LOGFILE'
    ||' server=server2';

  • HOW TO : Writing simple scripts in SQL Developer??

    Here is a simple script I run in SQL*Plus...
    the first SQL prints the QCSID, the second script prompts for a SID which is the QCSID from the first SQL... once provided it gives me the output I want...
    I just cannot do this in SQL DEVELOPER..... or Can I?
    select distinct qcsid from v$px_session;
    select sid,serial#,qcsid,qcserial#,degree,req_degree from v$px_session
    where qcsid in (select qcsid from v$px_session where sid='&sid');

    Ganesh,
    Simple substitution and defines work in SQL Developer scripts.
    I think the problem with running your script is that the first query results are not displayed before the window asking for the '&sid' value. That is the output to the 'screen output' tab is buffered and not synchronized with additional pop up (or dialog) windows. Is that correct?
    Currently:
    You can use substitution variables in the f5 'Run Script' but no bind variables.
    You can use bind variables in the f9 'Execute Statement' but no substitution statements.
    You can use anonymous PLSQL blocks, and packaged functions and procedures, so you can store per session state in PLSQL packages.

  • Default path for scripts within SQL Developer version 3.2.20.09.87

    I have SQL Developer version 3.2.20.09.87 and needed to know if the 'Set default path to look for scripts' be a UNC path?
    Thanks

    I hadn't tried it but now I did and it worked.
    I also tried setting the Utilities Export default file location to a UNC path and I was able to set it but when I try to go to it via the 'browse' button, it doesnt go to it. It does, however, use it when I export.
    Also when I do File > Open, I'm not able to navigate to UNC paths via the 'Home' or 'Desktop' buttons on the left hand side of the window and am not able to navigate to a network location from the 'Locations' box.
    Any ideas? I am on Windows 7.
    Thanks

  • Extracting Script from sql developer

    I have to extract the script of 25 tables from a database including all its objects.How can i do this using sql developer using any script

    You can try this : But you have to write DBMS_METADATA.get_ddl 25 times as cols and give alias to them
    SELECT DBMS_METADATA.get_ddl ('TABLE', 'TABLE_NAME') t1,
    DBMS_METADATA.get_ddl ('TABLE', 'TABLE_NAME') t2
    FROM DUAL;
    Lets see what others suggests .. But this will get your CREATE scripts as well as will get to know as which objects being used in tables.

  • Scripts in SQL Developer

    Dear budddies,
    I need to migrate a few hundred tables from SQL Server 2005 to Oracle 10g, both residing in different servers.
    My firms requirement is as such, that they should be able to redo the migration at any point in time, so they prefer using anything in a script form.
    If I use SQL Developer's script for DLL and the scripts to Move Data, would I be able to recreate them at any point in time in any database?
    I need only the tables and the data.
    Please advice.
    Nith

    Sure, I don't see why not. But best try it out yourself instead of relying always on forum posts.

    Looks like a straight permissions issue. Can you select from tables? Do you have Connect access? Can you paste that script into SQL*Plus as the same user and create the table there?

  • SQL Developer Problem: Connect Database Windows Wont Show

    Hi,
    I have Windows Vista Home Basic and I have installed Oracle XE 10g which works great. However, I need to install SQL Developer too but it wont work. I think it may be a compatibility issue, or else some problem with Java. The thing is that no matter how hard I've tried I couldn't beat all the problems I had with the interface. First of all, when I try to make a new Database connection, the option window won't show. Second, when I enter in Preferences, I cannot choose anything but the general option. Also, I don't know where is the connection window.
    I would appreciate all the help you can provide. Trying to start with my school project....
    Have a nice day. Thanks in advance.
    Mikywan.
    P.S.: Sorry about my english.

    I add these lines at <sqldeveloper>\ide\bin\ide.conf and worked.

  • Invalid file - SQL Developer 1.2 for Windows download

    I attempted to download the latest verion(1.2) for Windows with JDK and failed.
    Download process completes downloading the file, but it then complains that its not a valid ZIP file!
    cheers.
    Manod

    It's not a bug. There can be a number of reasons why, when you attempt to download a file, you do not get the full download. One of which is just that you lose the connection and that can depend on where and when you download, another is that there can be fire wall issues on the client site. There are times when the issue is on the Oracle side and this too can be as a result of different things. In this case, there is a specific OTN forum for site issues. I have not seen any such mention of a problem or a downtime or anything else in the past few weeks. All I meant is that if you have a problem with a download, you might try again later. We have had a few thousand SQL Developer downloads in the past few days, so there is no issue on our side.
