Running without client

Hello,
is it possible to create ebj application that start some classes after succesful deploy to the j2ee server without client interaction?

You can also specify servlets to run on load (can't remember the descriptor tag at the moment), which means they'll fire off when fully loaded by the servlet container. (That also explains why you generally see app servers loading EAR files and getting the EJBs up first - that and the ClassLoader architecture.)

MRP run without one storage location

Dear All,
My client's requirement is they need to run MRP on plant level without considering one storage location stock
e.g if a material is having stock of 10 in unrestricted with storage location 1104. Now when mrp is run for 100 quantity planned order is created for 90 only planning strategy is 40....they want the MRP should not consider the stock in storage location 1104.....how this can be made possibe?

i saw a few discussion on web but nowhere the solution was provided.

Error when run without admin rights

I created a program that need to be run on a companies computers, the people who will run it can't have admin rights, however, if the program is run without admin rights all it does is create an error txt file, with the following:

Don't you think you should really contact Grauile ?
They wrote the software, including the native DLL libraries, and probably encountered this problem before on dual processor machines.

How do I build an application that will run without being installed?

I have seen some of the prior posts on trying to do this, but most of them were older, so I'll ask:
Using 7.1, how do I build an application that will run without having to install the runtime engine? I have a client that wants to run serial port monitoring VIs to watch some custom hardware we built for him. His IT dept. won't let him install anything. If I could make this VI run off of a USB thumb drive without needing anything installed on the system it would be ideal. Space is not a problem, so I could include any runtime files needed. Can anyone tell me how to do this?

Under what operating system was it running under back in the 90's when it was working?
I think that starting with NT platforms (applies to 2000 and XP, but not 9x) the hardware abstraction layer (HAL) prevented direct I/O to serial ports. Serial port related code that ran fine on 3.x and 9x would not run under NT platforms without modification.
Just some food for thought, do not know if it applies to your situation.

Corba error when running rich clients in 3-tier mode.

I am dealing with an Error when running Rich Clients (WebI and DeskI) with 3-tier ODBC connection to the server.
The client does come up and I'm able to create the query but when the data in refreshed I do get the error:
A database error occured. The database error text is: (CS) "CORBA Initialization failed". (WIS 10901).
I have a test server which I'm able to do this kind of connection without a problem but when I try to connect to the Prod server in 3-tier data connection mode throught the server I get this error.
My setup is:
BO XI R 3.1 FP. 2.1
Clients are also updated with FP 2.1
The data sources are Oracle and Teradata.

What do I need to make a JMF Application that runs without selecting a media file from a directrey.
I wish to have a folder of avi's that can be played the moment the player is activated. Auto play without selection from within the PC that it's running from. No applet.

Synergy isn't that flakey. It just doesn't get along well with one particularly old program I use that access an online database via FTP. When the FTP transfer is running, Synergy stops. As soon as the transfer is done, it comes back. Not even a minor annoyance for me.
Synergy is not a remote desktop sharing function. It is simply a keyboard and mouse sharing function like the old keyboard/mouse switch boxes.
I've two computers on my desk; a work laptop and a home desktop. Each has their own keyboards and screens. With Synergy, I can use one keyboard and mouse to control both machines. I simply move the mouse from one screen to another and control follows. It's just like moving a mouse between multiple monitors on a single machine, except that I'm actually switching between computers.
I thought Windows remote desktop functions are for just that - remote access to a machine where keyboard, mouse and screen are duplicated on the client. If I'm missing something, please educate. Also consider if it'll work with Windows7 Home Premium.
Synergy is also cross platform, so when I fire up a Linux machine I sometimes use, it too can share the same keyboard and mouse.

Sample production run without bom,routing

at our client place we have a scenario where we will run sample production (before real production run) without creating bom/routing for the material...
someone suggested we use finance internal order and then post the material documents in migo against that internal order and labor costs in kb21n..
is this the only easiest way for this kind of scenario? or do you have any other ideas?

You can create a production order without Routing and without BOM by creating a new order type.
To be able to create an order without Routing: Change the Config in OPL8 ( order type dependent parameters) as routing optional.
To be able to create the Order without the BOM you will need to:
- Configure a new BOM Application. This can be done in tcode OS30.
- Create a BOM ID in T-code OS31 with BOM Usage as Production.
- Assign this BOM ID in BOM Application.
- In the ID maintain a BOM alone without any items.
- Finally in OPL8, you need to assign the new BOM Application for your Order type.

It gets compiled successfully but when i run the report, i get 2 errors.
Error 1:
REP-1401: 'no_daysformula':Fatal PL/SQL error occurred.
ora-06503: PL/SQL : Function returned without value.
Error 2:
REP-0619: You cannot run without a layout.
Should i use only 1 return statement?
Can i use as many return statements as i want?
What is the exact mistake? Please let me know.

Let me clear you the first thing...
If you get any fatal errors while running the report (e.g., function returned without value,no value etc.,) the report will show
REP-0619: You cannot run without a layout.
So you just correct the function 'no_daysformula' .
First of all you run the report without that formula column.
If it works fine then , Check the return value of your formula column (Your formula column properties --> Return value --> value (It will be DATE as i think so).
As function will always return a single value, Check your formula 'no_daysformula' returns the same.
declare a return variable say for example..
DECLARE
V_DATE DATE;
BEGIN
--YOUR CODE---
RETURN V_DATE := (RETURN VALUE)
END;
Last but not least ... use Else condition to return (NULL or any value ) in your code and check..

But when I put client pgm on a different maching

I put ConverterApp.ear, ConverterAppClient.jar and ConverterClient.class on the machine and
set APPCPATH=ConverterAppClient.jar

I had the same problem but have solved it and it works.
I ran the client remotely from a win98 box.
Keep two things in mind
1> Deploy the applications to an ip address and not to the local host using the deploy too. Use the deploy tool Gui to add a new server and then deploy the application to this ip address.
2> I am running j2ee version 1.3 and jsdk 1.3
Use the following code but instead of using "java:comp/env/ejb/SimpleConverter" use the jndi name of the object: "MyConverter" as specified in the tutorial.

You need to do the following things.
1> After making changes to the code recompile using Ant and redeploy it.
2> Copy the j2ee.jar, ConverterAppClient.jar and ConverterClient.class file to the machine that u want to run the client from.
3> create a directory called "config" on the remote machine where you copied the files in step two.
4> Copy to this directory the files ejb.properties and security.properties from your j2ee_home\config\ directory.
For example you copied the files in step 2 on the remote machine in the c:\test directory. Create c:\test\config directory and copy the files from step 4 into this directory.
5> Run the following command from the directory where u copied the client files
java -Dorg.omg.CORBA.ORBInitialHost="host name" -classpath .\j2ee.jar;.;.\ConverterAppClient.jar ConverterClient

I am new to weblogic server 8.1. I sucessfully deployed session ejb Session Bean. I created sessionbean jar file and put it it classpath also.
and also i created sessiobeanclient jar file, it included in class path.
While running client program it throws exception like noclass def found exception
plz tell me the right way to run the session ejb program.

You have to follow the given steps before you are going to run the client program that invokes the session bean .
1)set the Weblogic Environment using the tool setWLSEnv
2)place the Session bean jar file in classpath
3)run the client program
Note:If the client has to execute on remote machine we need to copy client class,remote interface, home interface and other classes which are used as
parameters and return types.

Are you running the client on the same server? i.e., the code is called from a JSP or a servlet on the same server?
If not, you may use the REMOTE_CLIENT instead of the JAVA_CLIENT, in your call to WorkflowServiceClientFactory.getWorkflowServiceClient(). This forces the user information to be pickedup by the workflow service on the server.
