Runs in JDeveloper, not after deployment (as .jar) : NoClassDefFoundError

I created a web service proxy within JDeveloper (created from a wsdl file). I created a .java file to call the web service. It runs fine within JDeveloper. When I deploy it to a .jar file and try and run the jar file from the console (with "java -jar myProgram.jar") I get the exception: "Exception in thread "main" java.long.NoClassDefFoundError: javax/xml/rpc/ServiceFactory"
Any ideas?
Thanks!

I added the classpath to the command line "java -jar -cp C:\..... myProgram.jar" and got the same error when trying to run.
I also tried adding that classpath to the manifest.mf file included in my .jar -- I'm pretty sure I did something wrong though - because when I define the classpath in my .jar I get the error "NoClassDefFoundError: casswsdl/proxy/myProgram"
What do you think?

  • SWT Runs in Eclipse - Not after export (NOT executable JAR)

    I have been working on my first SWT application. It will run when using the Eclipse run command. However, when I export the project to a JAR file I can't get the module to run. I am NOT trying to run this as an executable JAR. I will eventually get to that, but for the moment I just want to be able to execute the module via the standard Java command.
    When I try to run the module via:
    java com.myproj.visual.SearchDisplay I get the following result:
    NoClassDefFoundError:  org/eclipse/swt/widgets/LayoutI have tried every variation of running this that I can find. I have the swt.jar as well as the jar containing my project files in the class path. I have extracted the DLL files from swt.jar and put them in the directory from which I am executing the module, i.e. I change directory to there before executing the Java command. I tried including the following in the Java command:
    -Djava.library.path=c:\projects\java\myproj\swt-win32-3139.dllI have also tried including the classpath at the Java command:
    -classpath .;c:\projects\java\myproj\swt.jar;c:\projects\java\myproj\mmstat.jarSo far nothing has helped. I get the same error regardless what I do. Yet this runs fine inside Eclipse.
    In my Eclipse environment I do have swt.jar imported. And have org.eclipse.swt in my Require Projects tab on the Build Path. I also have swt.jar and Standard Widget Toolkit identified in the Libraries tab of the Build Path. And on the Order and Export tab I have tried including all three (Standard Widget Toolkit, swt.jar and org.eclipse.swt) and then each one separately and then in combinations.
    It is obvious that I am not exporting correctly or I don't have the correct configuration at runtime. But I can not figure this out. I have been reading forums for days now. They mostly are concerned with excecutable JARs which is not yet my problem. I first need to get this working before worrying about packaging an executable.
    Can someone please help suggest some solutions for me?
    It would be GREATLY appreciated.

    Making a jar file from SWT project, in Eclipse:
    1. Create one manifest file in project with following contents:
         Manifest-Version: 1.0
         Class-path: swt.jar
         Main-class: package.MainClass
    2. Export jar file with this manifest file
    a) Right-click on project
    b) Selection Export
    c) Select Java and Jar file
    d) Select the project, classpath and file project
    e) In jar file textbox enter the name for jar file and select options: "Exports generated class files and resources" and "Compress the content of the jar file"
    f) Press Next button
    g) Press Next button
    h) Select "Use existing manifest from workspace" and select the manifest file which you has created
    i) Press Finish button
    3. Put togheter the jar file and swt.jar
    4. Run jar file

  • Applet- Servlet works fine in Jdeveloper, not when deployed to Tomcat 4

    Hey all, I have a real simple servlet that works withing Jdeveloper.
    An applet displays a button and when you click on the button it
    contacts the servlet and the servlet returns a string.. I put that
    string in a textarea widget.
    But if I create a deployment profile, deploy it to a jar file, put
    the jar file in the tomcat/webapps directory and start up tomcat it
    doesn't work. Applet works fine but the textarea widget doesn't get
    updated.
    (Note: to get it to work in jdeveloper I have to change the port to
    8992 but tomcat is running on 8080)
    Here's a clip of the code that contacts the servlet:
    String protocol = "http";
    String host = "localhost";
    int port = 8080;
    String urlSuffix = "/Applet1/servlet/";
    try {
    String loginServletURL = "my_package.TestServlet";
    URL dataURL = new URL(protocol, host, port, urlSuffix
    +loginServletURL);
    URLConnection connection = dataURL.openConnection();
    connection.setDoOutput(true);
    connection.setUseCaches(false);
    connection.setDoInput(true);
    connection.setRequestProperty("Content-Type",
    "application/x-java-serialized-object");
    ObjectInputStream in = new
    ObjectInputStream(connection.getInputStream());
    String test = (String) in.readObject();
    in.close();
    textArea.setText(test);
    Here's the servlet main code:
    public void doPost(HttpServletRequest request, HttpServletResponse
    response) throws ServletException, IOException
    String test= "TEST MESSAGE";
    ObjectOutputStream out = new
    ObjectOutputStream(response.getOutputStream());
    out.writeObject(test);
    out.flush();
    out.close();
    Like I said, this works fine in Jdeveloper. Its a pretty simple
    servlet.... I have created html pages that contact servlets without
    any issues. But for some reasons an applet is causing me a headache.
    Any ideas?? Any other information you may need let me know. Need the
    rest of the code and I can send you the entire workspace.
    Thanks

    Has no one encountered this before?

    I have tried to deploy my project to jar file using Developer deploy functionality.
    I added manifest.mf file with all dependences. It looks like this:
    Manifest-Version: 1.0
    Class-Path: lib/xmlparserv2.jar lib/ojdbc6.jar lib/xdb.jar lib/orai18n-mapping.jar
    After deployment in jar manifest.mf looks like this:

    -mapping.jar
    Main-Class: client.handingXML
    When I tried to run :
    java -jar archive1.jar

    Thanks in advance for reply.

    The JARs need to be in the lib directory relative to the location of archive1.jar.
    Not inside archive1.jar.

    What could be wrong? I have tried shutting down the J2EE engine and re-starting. I have also tried to bounce the server the J2EE is on. Still no luck. I see a ClassNotFoundException for com.eac.vendor.model.Viqmel, but Viqmel is not part of the package anyway?!?!?! What's really weird is that it was working fine a few hours ago! Please help!!
    Kunal.

    Hi Guys,
    Here's how I solved it, actually this was quite a random solution!
    1. I undeployed the application from SDM
    2. I shut down and restarted the J2EE Engine.
    3. I re-imported the Model.
    4. I rebuilt, recreated the archive and re-deployed the app.
    And to my surprise it started working again.
    Thanks to all of you that replied.

  • Not able to access javaFx charts from a remote system after using ext. jars

    We are facing following issue. Any recommendations to resolve these issues are highly appreciated.
    1. Not able to access javaFx charts from a remote system (More details at the end of mail).This is high priority requirement as we have a web based reporting application and users access it over our static IP address.
    We are using Java Fx charts in our web application where we built jnlp and jar files in a separate fx project and kept jar and jnlp’s inside our web project.
    It is working fine when we did not used any external jar files and remotely it is accessible. But when we used external jars our project is running on local
    system but remotely it is not working due to some path settings. We modified jnlp files where entry of jar files exists and modified the jar path as per our
    project. But still it did not work.
    Before using external jars inside our java fx project my jnlp looks like:
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
    <jnlp spec="1.0+" codebase="http://localhost:8083/servlet/org.netbeans.modules.javafx.project.JnlpDownloadServlet/F%3A/New+FX+Projects+08-12-

  • Get "404 Not Found" after deployment.  How to find out correct URL?

    To the experienced:
    In preparing to deploy my application, I am using JDeveloper 10.1.3.4 to deploy the application to the standalone oc4j server that is included in JDeveloper. After the deployment, I get the "404 Not Found" error when trying to invoke the application in a browser. The deployment looks OK, becasue the log window in JDeveloper showed no error when running deployment from inside JDeveloper. Therefore I guess the question is how to find out the correct URL to invoke the application. The steps I took in doing the deployment are as follows.
    I first installed the standalone oc4j by running the <jdev_home>\jdev\bin\start_oc4j .bat file. The installation is OK because I deployed the SRTutorial applcation and invoked it in a browser successfully.
    The WAR file was created by right-clicking the ViewController project and select to create a WAR file. To the application's Context Root its own name, I typed "ZB" in the box for the context root.
    Then in ViewController -> Resources, right_click the deployment file (ZBOV.deploy) and chose "Deploy to" the local_standalone_oc4j. The messages in JDeveloper's log window for the deployment are all clean without errors.
    I then used this url to invoke the deployed application in a browser:
    http://localhost:8888/ZB/faces/staff/login.jspx
    But I got an "404 Not Found" error. Right away I tried invoking the SRTutorial application, and it runs fine.
    login.jspx is one of the pages for the appllication. In the application navigator, it is located with other files in the ViewController/Web Content/staff folder, therefore I used /staff/login.jspx after ZB/faces.
    What could be wrong? If the deployment is actually successful, how to find out the correct url to invoke the application?
    Many thanks for your help!
    Newman

    Hi, Arun,
    Thank you for the suggestion. I tried it but got the same error.
    I tried it by first undeploying the application using the enterprise manager page (which is also part of the oc4j included in JDeveloper). I select the application and clicked the undeploy link, confirmed that I wanted to remove it. And it was removed.
    Then in JDeveloper, I right-clicked the ViewController, and in the properties of the probject selected "J2EE Application" and then selected "Use Custom Settings", then in the "J2EE Web Context Root" box I entered "ZB". Created the deployment profile again, overwriting the existing one, and then right-clicked the ZB.deploy node to deploy to the standalone oc4j on the localhost. And I used the url:
    http://localhost:8888/ZB/faces/staff/login.jspx
    And I got the same "404 Not Found" error.
    There was no error at the time of deployment using the ZB.deploy profile. On the enterprise manager page, the path of the deployed application is given as /C:/jdev10134/j2ee/home/applications/ZB.ear, and the folder of the deployed application is there. Question is: if the deployment is actually OK, can the correct URL be found in some file somewhere in the folder?
    All ideas and suggestions are very much appreciated!
    Newman

  • After deploy into weblogic server while running the application-404 Error

    Hi All,
    Created an ADF application and Deployed this application to Weblogic server.
    I am getting the below error After deploy into weblogic server while running the application
    I am able to run this application well in JDeveloper using the IntegratedWebLogicServer.
    The Application is successfully deployed to the Web Logic server.
    While creating the domain, I have extended the Oracle JRF classes.
    Error
    Error 404--Not Found
    From RFC 2068 Hypertext Transfer Protocol -- HTTP/1.1:
    10.4.5 404 Not Found
    The server has not found anything matching the Request-URI. No indication is given of whether the condition is temporary or permanent.
    If the server does not wish to make this information available to the client, the status code 403 (Forbidden) can be used instead. The 410 (Gone) status code SHOULD be used if the server knows, through some internally configurable mechanism, that an old resource is permanently unavailable and has no forwarding address.
    JDeveloper Version : 11.1.1.3.0
    Weblogic Version : 10.3.3.0
    Thanks
    Satish

    On the Deployments look for the Testing tab.. you will see your test link to check your deployment ..
    Some times.. for some reasons( which i dontKnow :( it doesnt identify with m/c name.. repalce it with IP address..and give a try.. if its on local /c u can try 127.0.0.1 /(or local host too)

  • SOA Composites not getting deployed after adding AppsLoggerService

    Hi
    I am trying to enable logging for mediator components. I followed this kix page (Fusion Logging and Error Handling for SOA[https://kix.oraclecorp.com/KIX/display.php?labelId=1918&articleId=200788]) to enable the logging.
    After adding the service to use AppsLoggerService I am not able to deploy the composites to the SOA server. However deployment of composites without this change goes fine. To enable mediator level logging I created a ADF-BC service and provided the AppsLoggerService WSDL and in the mplan I craeted a xsl for transformation. I am getting this error on deployment :

  • After deployment got "404 Not Found".  How to find the correct URL?

  • PROBLEM RUNNING BEAN AFTER DEPLOYMENT

    Dear Friends:
    I have developed a Stateless Session Bean using Visual Cafe 3.0 Enterprise
    Suite
    on Windows 98. We have installed Weblogic 5.1 on Windows 98 (same machine
    as the Visual Cafe).
    We have compiled, created JAR Files and deployed the Bean successfully.
    However, when we try to run the Bean using
    Project|Execute, we are unable to get the output. The animated Icon that
    shows the progress of activity on Weblogic server
    plays forever and no error messages are displayed.
    We wanted to know if we need to create a client program after deploying the
    Bean. What other steps are we supposed to follow
    after deploying the bean. The Bean we are trying to run is the so called
    "Hello World" Bean.
    We also want to know how to run the sample Beans that came along Visual
    Cafe.
    Can someone please let us know as to what we are supposed to do after the
    deployment.
    Can we use Weblogic on Windows 98?
    Regards
    Rao Amanchi

    Thanks for the response...but hope you don't mind cause I need to ask a few more questions here..
    first of all...my program is sort of made up of a lot of classes...so if I'm to add the -depreciation command...which class am I suppose to add it to for the compilation?? (sorry..i'm still pretty new in this Java thing..)
    secondly...I've been checking the program again and I realised that the internal things seem to be running find (e.g, the treenodes are created and added)..but it's just that it is not being displayed at all... when I run other functions to the program which eventually works to refresh this tree, it finally appears...
    third...I've some smaller modules working on the same concept of displaying the tree views as well and they too are not displaying anything on the JPanel when I run them...
    Is there some alteration to the codes in JTree or something in this newer version that is causing this weird behaviour???
    THanks again!

  • Applet works in JDeveloper, but not when deployed to OC4J

    I am working on an applet version of the BI Beans java client application. It works fine when running in JDeveloper (applet viewer), but fails when deployed to OC4J. The applet shows a red X, with a message in the status bar saying "Loading Java Applet Failed...". Contents of java console are as follows:

  • Ejb-ref-mapping in orion-ejb.jar missing location attribute after deployment

    I have noticed that on several of my entity beans that after deployment the <ebj-ref-mapping location="JNDIName" name="LocalName"/> is missing the location attribute. This causes any attempts to lookup the EJBHome for that EJB to fail because the path to the EJBHome in JNDI cannot be found (obviously!). The problem is that this causes me to manually edit the application-deployment/<app>/<ejb.jar>/orion-ejb.zml after each deployment via the admin.jar. This seems like a bug with OC4J and I am wondering if Oracle is aware/doing something to fix this?
    I have noticed that the same problem exists for session beans, however, for some strange reason the EJBHomes can still be resolved in JNDI. In all cases the location in JNDI is different then the <ejb-ref-name> I used in the client EJB.
    Example being I have an entity bean at com.foo.Foo and the session bean uses lookup("java:comp/env/ejb/Foo") it is still able to find the EJB even though the orion-ejb.xml looses the location attribute. If the case is an entity bean referencing another entity bean in the same fashion I get an error because the location attribute is missing.

    If the 'location' value is same as the 'name' value, then even though the location attribute is missing, it is ok and should work. If they are not the same, then you should have defined the ejb-link element in your ejb-jar.xml when defining this ejb-ref and that would make the location attribute appear in the generated orion-ejb-jar.xml.
    If the referenced bean is from a different application (EAR), then you should have used the -parent option when deploying the application.
