Runtime listener error - Forms 10g on XP

Hi,
I've managed to create a tabular forms on scott.emp.
using scott/tiger to connect without instance string from Forms Builder.
Then I started OC4J instance and tried running the module.
I was asked to install JInitiator and did it. Now I can see JInitiator as ActiveX in Internet Explorer.
Then I see the browser window and a message "Loading JApplet"
I'm asked to connect to the databse, so I tried scott/tiger/orcl and got invalid connection string error,
If I try scott/tiger alone I get a Listener error.
Otoh I have no problem connecting to EM as normal and use isqlplus as multiline block in the browser
IS there a new connexion parameters set to add to tnsnames.ora?
Many thanks.

Hi,
Frank, I've just cut and pasted from one tnsnames.ora to the other and everything went fine.
Only now to execute query in the block it's not F8 but Ctrl F11 :-)
I suppose keys assignments are customizable in some config file.
The default block looks pretty good in the browser.
It's the long way from AWT and SWING !
Many many thanks

  • Strange runtime result on forms 10g

    Hi,
    I am using forms 10G. Db is 10G.
    When I run the simple Scott’s emp table
    It runs on internet explorer and instead of giving emp table information it shown something like that:
    <html> <head> ORACLE FORMS.</head>
    <body onload="document.pform.submit();" >
    <form name="pform" action="http://lalo:8889/forms90/f90servlet" method="POST">
    <input type="hidden" name="form" value="I:\test\emp.fmx">
    <input type="hidden" name="userid" value="SCOTT/TIGER@orcl">
    <input type="hidden" name="obr" value="yes">
    <input type="hidden" name="array" value="YES">
    </form> </body></html>
    what is this?
    How should we get the forms simple screen on runtime?
    Where should we get entry so on it runs independently?
    Though is running well on 6i.

  • Error while importing java class into oracle forms 10g

    Hi
    I have generated a web service client using jdeveloper 10g. It consists of complex type methods. I am trying to import the class files using java importer in oracle form 10g. I am able import all of them successfully except one. That one is the main method. Please see the error and suggest me how to overcome this error.
    Exception occurred: java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: oracle/jdeveloper/webservices/runtime/WrappedDocLiteralStub
    Thanks in advance

    Do you see oracle/jdeveloper listed in "Import Java Classes" when you try to import?
    If not, make sure you add C:\DevSuiteHome_1\jdev\lib\jdev.jar to FORMS_BUILDER_CLASSPATH in registry
    Also excetion indicates: oracle/jdeveloper/webservices/runtime/WrappedDocLiteralStub
    If you typing it - type: oracle.jdeveloper.webservices.runtime.WrappedDocLiteralStub

    Thank for your reply Bernd
    I need to achieve the same functionaliy in 6i, the scenario is like this,
    i have a madatory item and i will set the runtime compatibility mode 4.5 then at runtime i can able to leave the filed empty if i press the SHIFT+TAB key, if i press tab or enter key alone the error message should be displayed "Field must be entered" , this is functionality is working fine in 6i forms if you set the Runtime Compatibility Mode is 4.5.
    but this is not heppening in 10g forms, because we have the same source in 6i whenever there is a need we will compile it with 10g template and give to the customer, now its not working so its creating big trouble.
    i have seen something in meta link but that is not feesible. pls do the need ful
    Thanks

  • Error while calling BI Publisher from Forms 10g using Webservice - Urgent !

    Hi,
    I am calling a BI Publisher(10.1.3.4.1) webservice from the Forms 10g (10.1.2.0.2). I developed a jar file which works fine when I run from the Jdeveloper. I have successfully attached jar file to the Forms 10g but when I am calling from the when-button-pressed trigger I am getting beow error
    Exception: java.lang.Exception: java.lang.NoSuchMethodError: oracle.j2ee.ws.saaj.client.p2p.HttpSOAPConnection.setPreemptiveBasicAuth(Z)V
    Thanks in advance

    What steps did you follow to successfully attached jar file to the Forms 10g? To me, it sounds like you don't have your .jar file configured with Forms Builder and/or your App Server. Your .jar file needs to be added to the FORMS_CLASS_PATH in the default.env and the FORMS_CLASS_PATH registry entry. You will likely need to modify the formsweb.cfg also to include your .jar in the archive= or archive_jini= variables (depending on your JRE [Jinitiator or Sun JRE respectively]).
    It could also be a dependency on an additional Java library. Is "setPreemptiveBasicAuth" a method that you created or it is a dependent method from an additional library?
    Let us know this; as well as which Java version you're using.
    By the way, with respects to your "Urgent!" request. You have to understand that forum contributers are purely voluntary - this is not our full-time job. If your issue is truely urgent, it is always best to open a Service Request (SR) with Oracle Support than to rely on the forum for an urgent reply! ;-)
    Hope this helps,

    This tells me you are using a 3rd party or locally developed Java Bean to perform some type of print function. Is this correct?
    java.lang.ClassNotFoundException: java.io.IOException: open HTTP connection failed.Does your printtext.jar Java Bean need to open an HTTP connection in order to print?

  • Import java classes Exception Error in Forms 10g

    Hi,
    I have created a jar file using JDeveloper and need to import it in my Forms 10g to be able to call web services. In my forms builder, after I click on Program - Import Classes and give the name of the stub I created, it gives me the following error :
    Exception occurred: java.lang.ClassNotFoundException:
    I am following the step by step instructions of OTN
    http://www.oracle.com/technology/obe/obe_as_10g/deploy/callws_fromforms/forms_webservice.htm
    In the above documentation, where it says "Call the Stub from a Forms Application", point no. 1, it tells to go to control panel - system - advanced - environment variables and edit CLASSPATH. The problem is that in my variable, I cannot see CLASSPATH, it has PATH. I had added my jar file in there. Is it because of this that I'm getting the error.
    After that I have added the jar file in default.env in CLASSPATH.
    I would appreciate your urgent help in this matter.
    Thanks in advance.

    Well you can create a new variable called CLASSPATH - however, if you are actually seeing the JAR file in the Java Importer then that would assume you are infact seeing the JAR file.
    DO you get this problem if you JAR up a simple "Hello world" - if could be that you are not importing all the classes needed . What Jdeveloper version are you using - if its 10.1.3.1 and JAXRPC web services you may need to add an additional JAR to the class.
    Luckily for you ...check out...

  • Forms 10g - Oracle 11g DB - Date Format Error - Urgent

    Hi All,
    We are migrating forms 6i to forms 10g.Data Base is 9i to 11g Migration.
    In 10g forms pre-form trigger ,i have statement
    :head.yr_st_dt := to_date(sc.get_property('ps.yr_st_dt'),'MON DD YYYY HH:MI:SSPM');
    In 6i ,it is working fine,the :head.yr_st_dt=22-SEP-09.
    In 1og forms with 11g Database, I am getting the below error
    frm-40735:PRE-FORM trigger raised unhandled exception ORA-01843
    It seems invalid month.
    In 9i ,the NLS_DATE_FORMAT is DD-MON-RR.In 11g also same.
    Thanks in Advance,
    Regards,
    Shan

    user642745: In the list of forum topics, the fourth topic down is this:
        Before posting on this forum please read.   Within that post there is a recommendation:   "Also read the 10 Commandments on OTN forum posting." with this link:   http://blogs.oracle.com/shay/2007/03/02
    Please read and follow step 6, "Get a name".
    You now have 101 posts to your "user642745" name. When you write, it is difficult to distinguish between your post and the original poster's since you both have a similar number as your names.
    user648338: It is clear you do not understand how Oracle handles dates. Depending on the NLS_DATE_FORMAT and NLS_LANG for the session you are running, you will get different results when you display your sc.get_property('ps.yr_st_dt') output.
    The fact that you are even trying to execute the command:
    select to_date('01-MAY-09','MON DD YYYY HH:MI:SSPM') from dual;shows that you do not understand standard date processing.
    Internally, Oracle stores ALL dates in a 7-byte format that includes both date AND time.
    The fact that you are getting results like 01-MAY-09 just means that your session is running with NLS_DATE_FORMAT set to DD-MON-YY. It does NOT mean that the date is stored that way.
    Your entire problem is caused by the fact that the system on which your old Oracle 9i -- Forms 6i environment has its NLS_DATE_FORMAT (and possibly NLS_LANG) set differently than on your Oracle 11g -- Forms 10g environment.
    If you can set your new environment the same as the old, your trouble will go away. Here is how you determine what the values of those environment variables are. Run this in SQL Plus:
    select * from nls_session_parameters
      where parameter in('NLS_LANGUAGE','NLS_TERRITORY',
                         'NLS_DATE_FORMAT','NLS_DATE_LANGUAGE');Be aware, though, that it is possible for your Forms environment to change the settings only for the Forms sessions, so what you get from SQL Plus may not be the same.

    Please always mention 4 digit version numbers (e.g. 10.1.2.0.2) as well as Operation System, Browser and Java Versions.
    Just taking a lucky guess here, but if you are using the default config of forms 10.1.2 on a nowadays OS you have a combo of JInit and IE8 which isn't supposed to work and most likely to crash. If this is the case then use a current Sun JPI instead: http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/developer-tools/forms/documentation/forms-jre-131772.pdf
    If this is not the case then...well...you might give us a more deeper insight in what you do so we can get an idea what's going wrong.
    cheers

  • Forms 10g: error FRM-92101: There was a failure in the Forms Server during

    AS10g (9.0.4.1) on windows 2000 with 2 GB of ram
    We have an application with 10 - 15 users. Sometimes,when users exit from forms with the command exit_form, in a randomic way the form hangs with the error FRM-92101: There was a failure in the Forms Server during startup.....
    After the users have to close the browser and open another sessione of explorer.
    In the same time other users work fine.
    The problem happens more then 10 times a day.
    Is there a solution ?

    I have also run into similar problem.
    In my case, this problem has been carried over from Forms 6i to Forms 10g. In forms 6i it wrote an error file in the same folder where *.fmx file was stored.
    For 10gAS, look into <ORACLE_HOME midtier>\forms90\trace folder for a file *.trc. Open it up in notepad. It will tell you which trigger was being executed when the form failed.
    Put any comment in the PL/SQL of that trigger, recompile the form and the problem will go away.
    I usually put something like:
    dummy statement for FRM-92101.
    I do not know why it works but in my case it has.
    Good luck !!!
    Would like to know if it works for you.
