Runtime Optional Files

Just a quick question. What are the JRE optional files used for? Why would I need them?
Thanks,
Jared

>
If you go to "http:\\java.sun.com/javase/downloads/index.jsp", then follow the download button for JRE 6 update 14, you will find the optional files I am referring to.>Perhaps before rushing to the download button, you might avail yourself of the documentation linked from just below the Download button, to the README. The README has sections "Required vs. Optional Files" & "Optional Files and Directories" that seems to answer your question.

I want to set java runtime options(like -verbose,

way out?I don't think you can (at least not for the Sun JVM).
The command-line options for the JVM are used when the
JVM is created, which precedes the loading of the class
files representing your application. At that time it is too
late to set the start-up options for the JVM which is already
    up and running.

  • Crystal Report 11, List of Runtime DLLs, Runtime.hlp File

I am using Crystal Report 11 with my Delphi 7 application.
I need the list of runtime dlls which I will need to distribute with my application.
The Help file which comes with the Delphi 7 VCL Component (UCRPE32.hlp) says :
    QUOTE
    check RUNTIME.HLP in the Program Files\Seagate Software\Crystal Reports\Developer Files\Help folder
and make sure you have all the files.
    UNQUOTE
I could not find the RUNTIME.HLP file in any folder/subfolders on the machine  where Crystal Report 11 has been installed.
Can somebody tell me where I can find RUNTIME.HLP file or the list of runtime DLLs which is required to be distributed
along with my application(which is written in Delphi 7).
        Thanks in advance

    Hello Ramesh,
Business Objects does not support manual deployment of their runtime files.  This started with the release of CR XI (v11.0).  Please see [Business Objects Note 1218571|https://bcp.wdf.sap.corp/sap/sapnotes/display/0001218571] - How to distribute the Report Designer Component (RDC) in Crystal Reports XI for more information.
You may also want to review the RDC deployment article - [Creating an RDC Distribution Package|https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/go/portal/prtroot/docs/library/uuid/901c0761-cf1d-2b10-dea4-8e83937a9337] - that can be found on the SAP web site as well.
The RDC merge modules do not include the CRPE32.dll.  Since you're using the VCL you'll probably have to add that file manually to your deployment package.
The merge module links in these articles have probably changed.  Go to the [Business Objects Support Software Download|https://websmp230.sap-ag.de/sap(bD1lbiZjPTAwMQ==)/bc/bsp/spn/bobj_download/main.htm] page to find the RDC merge modules.
Change the Selection Criteria to this:
    Software Product: Crystal Reports
Product Version: XI, XI Release 1, or XI Release 2 (depending on your version of Crystal Reports)
    Software Type: Utility
You should also be aware of the fact that the VCL is not being updated any longer.  I think the XI (v11.0) version is the last one that will be available.  Additionally, the Report Designer Component (RDC) has been retired with the release of CR 2008.  Going forward you'll have to migrate to .NET SDK or the Crystal Report Java SDK.
    I hope this helps,
    Sincerely,
    Dan Kelleher

in dreamweaver site-wide query option file grayed out
Why won't this button option work, I cannot get the site-wide query to highlight, please help anyone, thanks.

You need to have a defined site in order for DW to correctly work with your files...

Once defined, you will always work from the Dreamweaver Files panel to ensure the program can manage your files correctly.

Hi, I'm En32, now trying to publish my first iBooks (epub).

This ePub file looks good because I can open it with my iPad - iBooks, however iTunes publisher always rejects this.
    Any solutions ?

I was getting that error when I used OSX's default compress feature. I found a little utility called ePub Zip and used it to compress (zip) my ePubs and that did the trick. They then passed the validation. I got it here:

  • Runtime engine files 8.2

    Hi,
Since most users of my written program are users with "restricted right" acounts under Windows XP I copied the Runtime engine files of LV7.11 manualy by copying the
"Program Files\National Instruments\LabVIEW 7.1\Shared\LabVIEW Run-Time\7.1" files to the harddisk and run a build executable from that directory. Since this application looks in its own directory for support-files this worked fine for LV7.1.
Last week I converted my program to the LV8.2 version. When I tried to copy the RTE8.2 file in the same way as I did before, the program would start-up. It asks for a NIINI32.DLL file. When I include this file it does not return any errors, but the program doesn't start. Can anyone tell me whether their is a different way to run a exe-file build by LV-application builder by copying files manual in stead of running the RTE-installer?
    Thanks in advance,

I know that NI did the run time engine to minimize space when installing multiple application. But i'm agree with you, we should have another way to build executable without the runtime engine. Some people dont know what it the runtime engine and uninstall it. afther that they just cant use the program anymore. The other reason, it that a VI use just some Kbyte and the run time engine that include almost everything, need some Mbyte.
If somebody know, please tell us......

  • Oracle forms/reports 6i runtime installation files

I need oracle forms/reports 6i runtime installation files.
Please help me to download runtime installation exe files.
    Thanks in advance.

    Dear Friend,
It is difficult to deploy all forms/reports as well as run-time executable in one click, but very much possible.
You need to invoke the Developer Suite 6i installation atleast twice (One for Forms and Net files, another for Reports).
However, you could bundle your forms/reports files by placing them within DevSuite6i folder and mentioning their path in the inventory file.
If you want a full silent installation in a single click, Use a third party package  compiler and invoke those two installation steps in silent mode

  • JSP Registry could not locate runtime property file

At runtime, my JSP is throwing an exception claiming to be not able to find the property
file. I have found the exact property file in the jar located on the server. I've
tried extracting it and placing it in different places and adding the file and directory
to the WebLogic classpath. I'm not sure what else to try.
              Here's the exception:
              Loading from CLASSPATH cat_test4_cat_pkg_Cat_pkgModule.properties
java.lang.RuntimeException: JSP Registry could not locate runtime property file:
              cat_test4_cat_pkg_Cat_pkgModule.properties

              at java.lang.Throwable.fillInStackTrace(Compiled Code)
              at java.lang.Throwable.<init>(Compiled Code)
              at java.lang.Exception.<init>(Compiled Code)
              Thanks.

When you generate a webapp or use the JSP element wizard , a property file is created for you that contains some startup parameters. This file needs to be available in the classpath. This errors comes up becuase the file is not avalable in the classpath.

  • Error publishing "Application with runtime embedded" file

I am trying to publish an "Application with runtime embedded" file out of Flash Pro CC. I am getting an error that I think indicates that certain necessary files that get packaged with the SWF to create the App are not able to be copied. The error message occurs at the end of the process after the SWF file has been published and after it has tried to gather the AIR files.

    Hi,
Please let us know, which Player Target you are trying to publish to : AIR for Desktop/AIR for Android.
Are you trying to use AIR3.6 or any other SDK using Manage AIR SDK?
If possible, provide the scenario file so that we can repro the issue.

  • Trouble with with CS4 "open with" and FOLDER OPTIONS FILE TYPES

I just installed CS4 MC and when I right click to use "OPEN WITH" CS4 is not listed. I use BROWSE and point to photoshop.exe in which is in the adobe/adobe photoshop cs4 folder as it should be. I click the .exe file then click OK and it takes me back to the OPEN WITH dialog box, but nothing has changed. There is no icon for Photoshop. It acts as if it didn't do anything. Same thing happens when I try to use FOLDER OPTIONS > FILE TYPES to change a file so that PS will open it. All was well with CS4. When I installed I did not use disk 5 (Windows Components) DVD to install. Once disk 4 was done and it said photoshop was installed, I stopped. What does disk 5 contain and is that the probably cause of why I can't use OPEN WITH? I am on XP with SP3. Photoshop works fine and I have no issues opening files thru photoshop, or from bridge into photoshop. Thanks in advance for any help.

I think that this is similar to something I've ran into before with Dreamweaver after I installed an upgrade.  It seems to be some kind of limitation in Windows, actually, that causes the problem. Basically, you can only have one application per file name registered for the Open With in Windows.
There are two options for you, I believe:
    1. Rename the "photoshop.exe" file in Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop CS4 to something else, like "ps.exe", then use the Open With > Browse option to select the newly-renamed file.
    2. Delete the "photoshop.exe" key in the Windows Registry. Don't delete just any key, the specific one (and only) key that you should delete, if you go this route, is in HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Applications. Then use Open With to set up the association.
    HTH
You can have only 1 defalult "Open With" but you can have many options of Open With.
Not a computer geek but seems like you options 1 and 2 are risky.  Would get a second opinion.

  • Where is the JavaFX runtime jar file in jdk7u4

So I find jdk 7u4 release notes:
The JavaFX SDK is installed with Java SE 7 update 4 for both the Windows and Mac OS X platforms. The JavaFX Runtime is installed with the JRE for the Windows platform. But I can't find the javafx runtime jar file, jfrt.jar? anybody can tell me where javafx runtime jar file locate.

It's a co-install. If you don't find the Oracle directory in Program Files or Program Files (x86), then you might have opted out of the JavaFX side of the install.
I had done this and had to uninstall Java7, then reinstall and opt-in the co-install.
Another thing which can trip you up is if you have installed a later version of JavaFX (2.2 beta). In that case, you may need to uninstall both java and javafx and then complete the co-install.
I'm really looking forward to the day when JavaFX is ubiquitous and part of Java proper, but for now, there is a little bit of pain.

  • I updated imovie and I Used to be able to save as Quicktime file, now not an option & files are so large when I save as mpeg4 and just rename them. Please help!

I updated imovie and I used to be able to save as Quicktime file, now not an option & files are so large when I save as mpeg4 and just rename them. Please help!

Actually it is easier than I thought. It is H264 but the wrapper is m4v. You can just change that in the finder to .mov and drop it into iDVD. iMovie will send it to iTunes so just right click on it in iTunes and select reveal in finder and then copy/paste to desktop and change to .mov. Then drag into iDVD. Really easy.

  • HT2905 Is there an update for the newest version of iTunes. This option File Display Duplicates no longer appears under file.

Is there an update for the newest version of iTunes. This option "File > Display Duplicates" no longer appears as an option under "File." I just got a new PC and copied my music files onto a portable drive from my old PC and pasted them into the iTunes folder on the new PC. It appears there are several duplicate files. Looking to delete my duplicate songs as simply as possible instead of single track by singe track. Any help would be appreciated.
