Runtime repository connects on remote system fails in connection

Hi,
I've created runtime repository and access users and target schema on linux server through owb server install. Sqlplus onnections from my window2k PC work OK for all 3 users.
I created a second runtime repository connection from my owb designer on windows2k system. When I bring up deployment manager and try to connect to the remote target through this connection, it fails with RTC-5260:failed to connect to runtime platform...,and ORA_01017:invalid username/password. Also, I notices a java thread on the remote linux server was created each time I tried the connection .
I have the connection alias under both OWB and OracleDB tnsnames. What's the problem?

  • Creating File System Repository for a remote system

    Hi Experts,
My requirement is that I need to create a KM repository in EP from where I need to upload documents into the BW system. Is File System Repository the right type of repository which I need to create for this purpose?
If yes, then in what format do I have to specify the value of the Root Directory property of the repository? I have a folder /data/docs created in the BW system within which I want to upload documents using this repository. But since this folder is located on the BW system which is a remote system for EP, I am not sure how I have to enter the path to this folder.
Can anyone give me any hints on this?
    Warm Regards,
    Saurabh

    Hello Saurabh,
I don't think an FS repository is what you are looking for in this scenario, you could instead use a BI Repository Manager, for more information see:

  • SQL from remote systems failes

    Hi All,
First of all, it may not be a database issue.
In brief, Not able to execute sql statements which returns more amount of data for ex: select * from v$session, select * from dict; I Could execute simple statements like select * from version / some user tables with less number of data by using “where” clause.
This is not an issue when I am in a remote system which are located in the same network as the database server (North America). Issue is from my local system (Asia) alone. I am sure that it has something to do with network side.

    SQL>
    SQL> select * from v$session;
It just stops there. Session won’t disconnect or any ORA-XXXX error.
    Done the following checks,
    - v$session shows that the above session in question is in status as “INACTIVE” and state as “WAITING”
    - tnsping from remote system and localsystem returns almost similar response time (600 msec - 670 msec)
    - Couldn’t find anything unusual in alert / trace also in listener log.
    - Since I am able to run some queries, no need to bother about firewall side.
    - Done some basic analysis using wireshark packet analyzer - couldn’t see any error. However could see that local system is getting “response data” from the database server.
    - MTU set to different size , 1500,1400,Defaul;t etc with no luck.
I am sure that many of you working on scattered environment might have faced similar issues. Your inputs will be very helpful for me.

  • Message error "Define an assignment set in the runtime repository"

    Hello Experts,
I'm creating a new component and when I'll assign the view created to be displayed in the screen the follow message appears "Define an assignment set in the runtime repository".
    Best regards,
    Caíque Escaler

    Hi,
I am sure that when you Click on your view in component workbench, this message must be flashing up.
Correct me if i am wrong.
Now first thing is its not an error but an info message.
There is nothing wrong in your developments. It just the fact that just creating a view does not mean we can use it. To use it, you must assign it to either a Window or a View Set or an Overview page in Runtime repository and thats why system tell you that you must do the view assignment.
Go to the runtime repositoy and assign the view. Now whether it to be assigned to a viewset, overviewpage or window, depends upon your requirement. If your view is Assignement Block, you will attach it to an overviewpage . If its a separate edit/display view then you may attach it in existing viewset or Main Window.
You can also create an empty window and attach your view to it..Ultimately view assignment completely depends upon what you want the view to be used as.
    Hope it solves your problem.
    Regards,
    Suchita

  • "Program terminated in remote system NONE: Logon failed" when adding a new table

    Hello,
I set up a replication flow from a SAP ERP 6.0 EHP7 with SAP ASE 16.0 source to SAP HANA 1.0 rev 82 target
I am using a standalone SLT system NetWeaver 7.0 with DMIS 2011_1_731 (with SP 1 to 7).
I have 100 tables to replicate.
I succeeded to set up replication for 57 tables. These tables are replicating properly.
Whenever I try to add a new one (with LTRC transaction, Data Provisioning -> Start Replication), the new table is marked as 'Failed' after a little while.
When I press 'Show Error Log' button I got an obscure error message:
"Program terminated in remote system NONE: Logon failed "
I do not understand this message. I checked both on SAP ASE source and SAP HANA target. I am still able to connect against both source and target.
Can you please tell how to troubleshoot this error.
    Thanks in advance,
    Christian

First thank you for answering my questions. I really appreciate your answers.
    I rechecked the documentation.
"Application Operations Guide SAP Landscape Transformation Replication Server Document Version: 2.3 – 2014-07-08"
    Page 29 - 30
    3.5.2.2 Data Transfer Jobs
This section explains the relationship between the number of data transfer jobs and the number of available background work process.
Data transfer and data transformation processing on SLT server system is accomplished by the background work processes of the underlying SAP NetWeaver ABAP application server. Each job occupies 1 background work process in the SAP LT Replication Server system. For each configuration, the parameter Data Transfer Jobs restricts the maximum number of data load job for each mass transfer ID (MT_ID). In total, a mass transfer ID (MT_ID) requires at least 4 background jobs to be available:
 One monitoring job (master job)
     One master controller job
 At least one data load job
 One additional job either for the migration objects definition, access plan calculation or to change configuration settings in the Configuration & Monitoring Dashboard
    Example
If you set the parameter Data Transfer Jobs to 04 in a configuration “SCHEMA1”, a mass transfer ID 001 is assigned. As a result, the following jobs should be in the system:
    1 Master controller job: /1LT/IUC_REP_CNTR_001
     At most 4 parallel jobs for MT_ID 001: /1LT/IUC_LOAD_MT_001_001/~002/~003/~004
When configuring your data load or replication scenario, consider the following:
 Do not define more data transfer jobs than the number of available application server background work processes. If all available background work processes are already occupied by jobs, any other job will have to wait until a free work process becomes available. This can lead to long wait times until a new activity (for example creating triggers) can start, and can also result in significantly increased latency times for data replication.
 The number of dialog work processes in the source system corresponds 1:1 with the number of data transfer jobs in the SAP LT Replication Server system.
 Besides the work processes allocated by the data transfer jobs you need to provide additional available work processes for controller and monitoring jobs, the migration objects definition, access plan calculation or to perform configuration changes, and so on.
Sizing for SAP LT Replication Server involves determining how many work processes are required to perform the initial load of data into the target system within an acceptable timeframe, and accomplish the change capturing and the transfer of data changes to the target system within expected latency times.
Ensure that you add enough additional work processes to allow other required SAP LT Replication Server jobs to run.
Finally, you map the number of required application server work processes to their system resource consumption (CPU, memory, disc space) using the formulas provided by the SLT Sizing Guide.
With the simple formula below, you can calculate the number of required application server work processes (WPs) on the SLT Server for each active SLT configuration.
The number of required work processes can be determined by adding
 The Number of required data transfer jobs ,
 plus one background work process for Central Master (Monitoring) Job (only one per system!),
 plus one background work process for Master Controller Job,
 plus 3-5 additional empty background work processes (recommended per configuration),
 plus approx. 3 dialog work processes (recommended for each configuration).
Note: A lack of available free application server work processes can negatively affect the data load or data replication processes.
To summarize everything, the number of 'Data Transfer Jobs' must be set depending of the number of source tables, it is not the actual number of tables.
Assume that for my 100 tables I use 10 'Data Transfer Jobs' :
    - The number of work processes on the SLT server would be 20. I took the simple formula of the documentation:
    10 data transfer jobs ,
+ 1 background work process for Central Master (Monitoring) Job (only one per system!),
+ 1 background work process for Master Controller Job,
+ 5 additional empty background work processes (recommended per configuration),
+ 3 dialog work processes (recommended for each configuration).
    - The number of dialog processes on the source server would be 10 ( equal to the number of 'Data Transfer Jobs')
    Am I correct ?
    Regards,
    Christian

  • "Configuration system failed to initialize" when trying to connect FM12 to Sharepoint

Adding a connection to Sharepoint using the FM12 CMS Connection Manager is failing with the error "Configuration system failed to initialize".  I can access all the sites and libraries in Sharepoint perfectly from IE on the same PC, but no matter what I try in the FM12 Connection Manager I get the above mentioned error.  The PC (which is actually a VM) is running Windows Server  2008 R2 (x64 with heaps of RAM and HDD free) with all updates applied.  FM12 is installed as part of Technical Comms Suite 5 subscription.
Does anyone have any ideas what may be causing this (or what it even means) and how I can fix it?

    Hi Steve,
    >>Error message is  "Configuration system failed to initialize". The popup window has the title "visual studio tools for office solution installer"
For this issue, I would recommend you try to uninstall/reinstall the VSTO runtime. The link below might be useful to you:
#Customization could not be loaded because the application domain could not be created.
    https://social.msdn.microsoft.com/Forums/sharepoint/en-US/d8204b2f-d5c7-42b3-b339-d2d37d43652d/customization-could-not-be-loaded-because-the-application-domain-could-not-be-created?forum=vsto
If the method above do not work, I will recommend you install the excel add-in in the developing machine with the USB to check whether it could work correctly.  If it could not install correctly, I assume that there might be something wrong when you
publish, and could you share us the steps you published? If it works correctly, I assume that it caused by the environment of another pc, it would be helpful if you could share us the screen shoot about details error message.

  • HTTP Response :500 unable to connect to remote system.

    Hi,
I am doing proxy-xi-file scenario, where i am getting this error in sxmb_moni in R/3.
The error reads with red flag:
HTTP Response :500 unable to connect to remote system.
Please  tell me what can be the reason.

    Snehal,
Error: The error message 503 Service unavailable Application stopped! is displayed.
Description: The server is currently unable to handle the request due to a temporary overloading or maintenance of the server. The implication is that this is a temporary condition which will be alleviated after some delay. If known, the length of the delay MAY be indicated in a Retry-After header. If no Retry-After is given, the client SHOULD handle the response as it would for a 500 response.
Note: The existence of the 503 status code does not imply that a server must use it when becoming overloaded. Some servers may wish to simply refuse the connection.
Possible Tips: Because of J2EE application com.sap.aii.af.ms.app not active
    • Try to (re)start the application using the Visual Administrator Choose Server --> Services --> Deploy --> View on Application or restart the J2EE engine
    • The problem is that not all J2EE services can be started by the J2EE. i.e Start the Visual Administrator and select Server->Services->Deploy in the tree on the left. On the right-hand side, choose the Runtime tab page. You see a tree in the right window with all applications if you select the APPLICATION radio button. Check if they are running, otherwise choose Start. Usually the J2EE engine starts all services automatically.

  • Query a List of Open WMI connections on a server from a remote system

We are monitoring a specific windows service on a server using Sitescope remote monitoring. The sitescope system uses a WMI method to Check if the service on a specific server is up or not. Initially it works like a charm but over time the WMI connections from
sitescope time out and we have been told that Sitescope is not closing the WMI connection it opens gracefully and the open connections pile up.
I am looking for a way to list open WMI connections to a specific service and/or server from a remote system and a way to kill those connections via a scheduled PowerShell (or batch/perl) script. I was able to list specific classes by -list parameter
    of the Get-WmiObject cmdlet
but am unable to determine which class will give me the information that I require and the method to kill those connections.

Sitescope is not closing the WMI connection it opens gracefully and the open connections pile up.
    1. It's not clear what "not closing the WMI connection it opens gracefully" means. WMI is a management technology that uses DCOM to connect to remote computers. (Is it really a question about DCOM?)
    2. It's not clear what specifically "open connections pile up" means and what problem(s) it causes.
    3. This is really a support question for that software's developer, not a question about WMI.

  • Runtime Repository Installation remotely

    HI,
Oracle database installed in Unix box at remotely (Eg. location A). Now from location B, I want to install a runtime repository (OWB 9.2) through windows OS in location A. Is it possible? If yes, then what is the procedure. Can anybody highlight on this.
    Thanks in advance.
    Liyakat

In OWB 9.2 you can't install a runtime repository remotely. You have to install OWB 9.2 on your unix box. Then you have to start $OWB-HOME/owb/bin/unix/runtimeinst.sh to install a runtime-repository.

  • Connecting MDM to Remote System

    Hello,
I was brought on-site to an MDM assignment that is connected to an SAP 4.7 system. The client is now upgrading to ECC 6.0 and I am going to be in charge of pointing the MDM system from 4.7 to 6.0.
I am not sure where to start or where to look to figure out how to create a new connection to a remote system. I have looked in the Console Ref. Guide, the MDM Master Guide, and a few other places.
Can anyone help me with what needs to be done and perhaps where there is documentation to walk me through this?
    Thanks experts!

Edited by: Nichole Smith on Jul 26, 2010 5:52 PM

    HI Nichole
the remote system defined in MDM is only the logical system and ports are defined pertaining to the remote system defined. This has in turn no dependencies on related landscape.
So no changes required at MDM side. (If you can continue with the existing system name for ECC).
If not change the remote system name in MDM first with the correct logical name.
In the PI system landscape  and also ECC we need to define the logical systems matching/pointing to MDM defined remote systems.
You can refer to below thread for step by step guidnace for establishing interface between MDM and ECC
    MDM-ECC Integration
    hope this helps-Ravi

  • Elom Java Console "Connect to remote host Fail"

    Hi,
I'm accessing an elom over the https interface, which works fine, however when trying to launch the Java console, the app starts but a dialogue box appears stating "Connect to remote host Fail!", and quits when I click ok. I'm using:
    Kubuntu 9.10
    Firefox 3.5.5
    Java 1.6.0_15
    Elom firmware version 2.70
I've also tried running against JRE 1.5, and tried saving the jnlp file and running that directly from javaws, all attempts produce the same result. I am able to connect to port 8890 from my machine. An strace seems to suggest that it sends and receives from port 8890 but then gets a Connection reset by peer.
Furthermore I've also tried running it through localhost using an ssh tunnel to the elom, again, same result.
I've now run out of ideas of what could be causing this issue, any help would be greatly appreciated.
    TIA
    Regards
    Craig

FYI, I downloaded the debian package of libstdc++5 from http://ftp.us.debian.org/debian/pool/main/g/gcc-3.3/libstdc++5_3.3.6-18_i386.deb
After installing that on Kubuntu, the console works fine.

  • Repository Connect Failed

    Hi Experts,
I am using MDM 7.1 version(build version 7.1.01.46) with MaxDb database. After creating the new repository I am trying to connect to repositiry with user "Admin" with blank password. But I getting error like "Repository Connect failed, Error:Account Locked". Please suggest me the solution If anyone faced same problem.
    Thanks,
    RDNPrasad

    Hi,
Just Check your mds.ini settings. and do unmount nad then mount the MDM server again.
Try to Monitor the Authentication for Particular repositry which you want to connect to your MDM 7.1 server.
    hope it helps.

  • Repository Connection failed

    Hi
I am on MDM Server 5.5 SP05 Patch 02. When I am trying to connect to repository its giving following error :
    Repository connect failed;please try again
    Error:Unhandled Exception.
I tried with both users Admin and Master. Also I am having 2 repositories on the same Server and for both repository, its giving same error. Can anyone help on this?

    Hi Sapbasis,
You need to stop and start your MDM Server .This should rectify your problem.
Try unmounting all your rep .
    Stop your mdm server
    restart it
    mount your rep again
If it does not work then check your datbase configuration as well
    hope it helped
    Thanks

  • When connecting to remote system, once again asking user & password details

    hi
I created one RFC in R/3 system, with the same logical system name of xi, giving all technical and logon details.
When I click on remote logon to enter into xi system,it is once again asking user logon details. After entering the details it is allowing into the xi system. Directly it is not entering into remote system when I click remote logon button.
I created both sides (in xi and R/3) and checked the same thing. Both sides I am getting the same problem. it is showing client name correctly but user and password name it is displaying the same server information. like if I am connecting from R/3 to XI means it is showing XI client number but R/3 user and password. Once after I change user and password and press enter it is going into remote system.
Could someone please help me on this?
Thanks in advance and best regards,

    hi lavanya
Provide the user with the corresponding authorization or avoid using the protected users DDIC and SAP*
    check below
    Trusting Transaction SMT2
The trusting transaction SMT2 (or SM59 ® RFC ® Trusting Systems) constructs a list of all trusting systems that have been established for this trusted system. Here, a logon and authorization check for the current user and client is performed, using the destination TRUSTING_SYSTEM@S00 that has been automatically created.
This basically corresponds to transaction SM51, if you use Remote Login to perform a logon on a different application server.
If problems occur while setting the destination TRUSTING_SYSTEM@S00 (such as host name or service information), you either have to create a new destination for your needs, and then enter the host name or service information using SAP router strings, or adjust the network settings of the server. To correct the problem in transaction SMT2, you have to adjust the network configuration of the server. As this transaction is only to be used for test purposes, in this case you could also choose to ignore the error.
To perform a logon as a different user or client, you have to create a new RFC destination with a trusted option set.
In this scenario, the following error text in SMT2 can be ignored:
No authorization to log on as a trusted system (Trusted RC=0)
If the host name contains the character '_' (as in "my_host"), then the generation of the related trusting system destination may lead to incorrect settings. This problem can be corrected by implementing Support Package SAPKB46D09 (see below). For earlier releases, the changes required to correct the problem can be made manually.
