Runtime updation from two programs running simultaneously

Hi Experts,
Need inputs for the situation described below:
We have two programs prog A and prog B. These are independent executable programs and have no dependency on each other. I want to restrict execution of prog B if prog A is running in any session by any user. Is there any system/basis table which stores runtime status of all the programs? There should be some table where all the currently executing programs get stored and once program is completed, entry is cleared from the table.
One way can be:
When prog A has started execution, add an entry in any Z table and at the time of finishing delete the particular entry. In prog B check that the table has any entry for prog A. If yes that means prog A is still running.
Issue with this approach is, if program A has some error or cancelled while execution, it will not delete its own entry and hence even if prog A is finished, prog B will find entry in Ztable.
Any other way to achieve this functionality?
This is very urgent.Please help!

Your above posted system details show multiple Java Console extensions.
You can uninstall (remove) the Java Console extensions and disable the Java Quick Starter extension as you do not need them to run Java applets.

Execute Unix command from Java program running on windows

Hello,
I need to write a java program that fetches file count in a particular unix machine directory. But java program will be running on windows machine.
The program should execute unix list command and fetch the output of that command.

I had a similiar problem, though years ago. It was to have a java program execute any other. Lately, I've had to have a java program running on a unix machine execute a shell script. Entirely two different scenarios. I'm not sure what you will need for your app, but look into this:
Java Native Interface for executing C/C++ code.
C/C++ Code for launching the program you need to run.
java.lang.Runtime(?).exec(....)
With a combination of that stuff, you can make a launcher for any os that has Java running on it, and with Runtime, you can exec() pretty near any sort of unix shell or app command you'd like.

Two players running simultaneously

Hi,
I'm new to JavaME and am having a difficult time trying to get two players to work.
Basically, my midlet implements runnable and when the midlet starts it spawns a new thread which runs a video player (video only, no audio). no problem.
However, I have a control button that when pressed, should play an audio file. The problem is that I don;t hear the audio if the video is playing.
If I comment out the video thread at the beginning, then the audio plays fine when the button is pressed.
I tried putting the audio player in it's own thread but that didn;t help.

I don't know about mixing audio and video, but if you want to play 2 audio files, you have to check if the device supports it, checking the System.getProperty("supports.mixing") propierty.

The message "restore previous settings" (or somethinglike that) comes up when mozilla is launched. Are there two programs running at the same time.

Frequently there are two mozilla programs launched when the icon is hit. Often the "restore previous settings" message is displayed. I also often loose my connection to the internet which I suspect is somehow connected to the dual mozilla problem. How can I eliminate this situation? Can I uninstall mozilla and then download it again via explorer?

Updates from HP agent ... always runs at start up and slows down computer

HP Pavilion a1222n, Win XP Home
When we first turn on the computer it is slowed down by "Updates from HP agent running" checked through the task manager.
I would like to disable the automatic running of this and run it when I want to run HP Updates. I read in another post to go to the Start > All programs> setting > select never which would allow you to chose when to run the HP update agent. I can not seem to find it on this machine, the post I read was for another model.

Hi Ron,
Try the following.
Hold down the Windows key and press R. Into the Run box, type msconfig and hit enter. In the System Configuration window, select the Startup tab and remove the tick next to the HP Update agent. Click Apply and Ok to save the change and then restart the PC for this change to take effect.

I have consistently seen Firmware updates available.. Up to V.300.x.xx now, however everytime I enter my Product code, it says my version is the only one avaialble...

Are you on 3 (phone model no 0569999)?
Locked phones can only upgrade to branded firmware and 3 have simply not bothered to work on any firmware release since 100.07.76, so all their E71s are stuck with old firmware and riddled with bugs.
A post on the thread below suggests they are working on it though and that if you call them they will then notify you when an upgrade is possible.

Frankly it is long overdue and unacceptable for phones of this type to go so long without new firmware.
I only got the E71 because T-Mobile wouldn't upgrade me to a BB last year. Wish I'd gone elsewhere now, this phone has been nothing but trouble - patchy coverage, intermittent (at best) internet needing constant phone reboots, and terrible battery life. All issues that could be (and probably have been by everyone else) improved in firmware.
If you're not on 3 it would be interesting to hear who else is so lazy?

I can't find my question and don't understand why you moved it. This is my fist day in the community. No one on Amazon knows if the licenses are tied together or not. I don't see what the cloud community has to do with video editing.

Interaction Between programs running on 2 JVM

I need to send certain data (primitive/objects) from a program running on one JVM to another program running on a different JVM. And need to get a response back from the program running on second JVM. This process needs to be synchronous.
Is it possible to achieve this by deploying a servlet on second JVM? If yes how?
And is there any better method to achieve this?

Without knowing your exact problem i'll bet it can be solved with RMI (Remote Method Invocation).
RMI uses protocol so was designed for communication between Java programs on seperate machines, but is just as effective when both programs are running on one host.

If the Office updates have to be run through Win in Parallels, there's not really a section here that covers that , because Neither Office or Parallels are Apple products. There is only a small chance that you'll find someone with BOTH your conditions who just happend to look into a forum on older iMacs.

I think I downloaded a fake Firefox update from supportfirefox.perl.sh - ever since I have had I/E popups and now audio playing with no programs running. What do I do?

How a variable in C++ gets updated from calling a labview dll running in a loop?

Hi,
I have created a dll which is called from a C++ program. The dll has been created from a vi which continuously runs in a loop (this is necessary because I need to control some hardware in real-time). When I call the function from C++ I can see the front panel of the vi working properly, i.e. all variables are updated in real time on the labview panel (which I will set as not visible once i get this problem sorted out).
However, I can't get the variables' values getting updated in my C++ program and I need these values to change in which way the hardware should behave ... is there any example somewhere in which something similar has been done? I have seen some examples where a dll is called from C++ with a vi function but not running in a loop. In these examples, the vi function passes the datum to the C++ software once is finished ...

I have already an inter-process communication, where there are two threads running in parallel. In one thread the C++ code is running while in the other the LabVIEW code is running. The labview function is passing the "output" variables as pointers too.

Although I don't understand why you need to serialized two programs
that have no dependency on each other, maybe the following code can help provided the programs are executed using specific tcodes.
DATA: BEGIN OF USR_TABL OCCURS 10.
INCLUDE STRUCTURE UINFO.
DATA: END OF USR_TABL.
CONSTANTS: OPCODE_LIST LIKE TH_OPCODE VALUE 2.
refresh USR_TABL.
CALL 'ThUsrInfo' ID 'OPCODE' field OPCODE_LIST
ID 'TAB' FIELD USR_TABL-SYS.
sort usr_tabl by mandt bname.
You can check wheter the other program(tcode) is being run from itab USR_TABL, good luck.

Office 365 x64 Click-to-Run Not Automatically Updating from Network Share

We are piloting Office 365 x64 and pointing the clients to a network share (see config file below) for updates. When we subsequently download the updates to the share the clients will not automatically install them. If we manually do so from
within an app (File > Account > Update Options > Update Now) it works fine. The ACL and Sharing permissions allow Everyone and Domain Computers read-only access (in addition to some other ancillary accounts). I've tried manually running
the Office Automatic Updates from Task Scheduler and left the box running overnight. I've rebooted, logged back on, closed and opened the app several times. Nothing happens, just always sits at the current version.
Anyone have any ideas?

It seems when the install finished it added an extra Office\Data to the path. My path should be \\hsbswpush02\GPsoftware\o365\Office\Data\15.0.4551.1005
but it shows
\\hsbswpush02\GPsoftware\o365\Office\Data\Office\Data15.0.4551.1005
If I edit the path and delete the extra Office\Data Office 365 ProPlus updates from my network location. I cannot figure out why it is adding the extra Office\Data to the path.
My config file looks like this:
 <Updates Enabled="TRUE" UpdatePath="\\hsbswpush02\GPsoftware\o365\Office\Data" />
have you tried omitting the \Office\Data element, from the Updates element ?
