RV042(G) Email LOG feature

I was happy beacuse new feature of v4.2.3.03 firmware, the Email LOG feature.
After testing this feature I recongnized, sending Email work in a way where RV first try to ping (ICMP ECHO) Mail Server if it is not respond, then  break sending email.
In a real word to save resources ping response feature of mail server always disabled. Therefore RV's Email feature cannot work in a real word.
Anybody has idea how possible to workaround this problem?

It is an important feature to protect the privacy of members, but I agree that there are times where a private contact is much more appropriate.
A message option is a normal feature of forum software and I am sure that Lithium contains this functionality. All that is needed is a good argument for it and Molly can throw some switch.
Such a contact needs to be strictly one-way such that the recipient can completely ignore it. There must be mechanisms in place that it cannot be abused by spammers using some automated means. (It could only be available to registered users and the e-mail must then have the registered e-mail of the senders profile as from: and reply to: address.) The body of the e-mail must contain the IP from where the request has been made.
I don't mind at all to be contacted in private by select other users, but in the forum posts I insist on total privacy.
(btw: the privacy options in the profile are poorly worded. It does not seem very logical that privacy=none is "full privacy", and privacy=all is "no privacy". Very confusing.... )
It would be nice if the privacy options were more gradual. I would not mind if my profile is fully visible to members above a certain level (e.g. veterans), while it should be hidden to newbies and unregistered users.

    We have an RV042 with issues emailing logs.
    For nearly a year after I originally installed this router, I could not get the email log feature to work.  Then out of the blue, this past July, it started working all by itself.
    On August 6, it stopped working again, with a message on the System Summary page: "E-mail cannot be sent out, probably use incorrect settings."
    No router settings were changed between August 5 (when it was working) and August 6 (when it stopped working).  The router did not reboot, and no settings on our email server changed, etc.
    I've seen other forum posts regarding the email log setting not working, so this appears to be a bug?
    Can anyone shed light on this for me?  It would be great to get this feature working reliably, since we are a small business and we should have access to all router logs.

    I finally decided to try rebooting the router and lo and behold, it started spitting out email logs again.  Hopefully this does not become a regular occurance.  At least I know what to do now if it happens again and hopefully it helps someone else out with a similar problem.

  • Is the CALL LOG feature GONE???!?!?!?!?!?

    Someone PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE tell me that BB did not remove the CALL LOG feature (that was on the Torch)!  This is HORRIBLE!!!  If I wanted a phone that did not allow me to be productive, I would have activated my iPhone!!! PLEASE BRING THE CALL LOG FEATURE BACK!!!  I might officially HATE the Q10!

    On previous BBs there was a call log feature which enabled users to access call logs and forward the call details including whether it was outgoing or incoming call, the telephone number called or calling in, the time of the call, and the duration of the call.   Users were able to add call notes directly into the history of the call (including during the call) and email it or save it.  Unfortunately, it appears that BB has gotten rid of this feature. Why they would do  that is beyond me.     That feature was one of the BEST features for people like myself who need to maintain a written record of calls and contacts.    he proposed workaround that I have found is the Call Notes App which is virtually useless.    
    I'm going back to the BB Torch.  This Q10 is the PITS!.

    We would like to use the logging features of j2se 1.4 in our ejb.
    Can this be done ?
    How do I install and use j2se 1.4 a long side of j2ee 1.3 ?
    Is this a recognised configuration ?

    If it is.... How do we do it ?Just install it in different directory - the installer will do this for you by default anyway.

    mistakenly using the classes provided with j2se 1.4 ?Thats what PATH and CLASSPATH environment variables are for. Read the tutorials on the left there for more information.

    j2ee 1.3 and one a j2se 1.4 ?You end up with as many as you run.
    Every time you run java (java.exe on windows, just plain java on UNIX) you run the version of the VM that's on your PATH.
    It's quite normal to have (on the same machine) a 1.3 VM running Weblogic and a number of 1.4 VM's as clients of that Weblogic installation.
    I think I'm right in saying that 1.4 VM's are (in some cases) regarded by BEA as supported clients of a Weblogic server running in a 1.3 VM, but you'd have to check their e-docs site for exact details.

    Hi,
    I am a bit ashamed to post this query but I am having a job to come to terms with the new BT set-up which was changed in respect to Yahoo.
    I have got over losing my much loved original BT/Yahoo page and it's news feeds and various other minor problems but having to log in every time I want to check my emails is driving me nuts.
    Yes I do try to keep a tab open with the email page displayed but because I am so busy on line during the day I keep accidently viewing a new webpage over the email page and clicking the return to last page just goes back to the BT email log in.
    With the original BT system, it was possible to select to log in for longer periods= the longest was two weeks. This was fine but I can not find this facility on the new set up.
    Can any one advise me if there is a way to stay logged on for a day at least or preferably longer.
    Any advice welcomed,

    When you go the BIS account on the PC, is this the place you were told to go by your service provider? My own has my carriers' logo on the page and they provided me with the login details whilst I was on the phone to them. It is THEIR responsibility to set up your BIS and to assist you.
    Whether you try OTA or on the PC, you must have access to your BIS and when you finally get it, setting up the email couldn't be easier.
    I cannot see why upgrading to OS 6 would affect email set-up but as you suggest, the option to put email server details in may have been removed. They are not necessary with BIS.

    I am trying to setup logging on my router. I want to use my gmail account / gmail SMTP server to send emails.
    Has anyone got this working? Does the router support TLS for SMTP?
    Oh - and I also get the "critical error" page. I get it when I try to un-check the send logs checkbox in the remote logging management page.

    Yes, I am emailing logs from the server to SMTP port 25.  They aren't very useful however, since they really don't record anything useful. Either I have it set up wrong (but I don't think so) or the email logging is missing all most all of the significant events.  Also, the log entries really don't any detail of source/destination ip's and ports.  Here is an example...

    This one is in the firmware release notes :-(  At least it is a known bug.

  • Enable Log feature on WRTP54G

    I have the Linksys WRTP54G (Firmware Version: 5.01.04) and Vonage VOIP service. I just want to enable the Log feature on the router available under the Administration tab, but everytime I specify an ip to push log messages to, I get a prompt for a Username and Password that is different than the admin username and password credentials that I have. Does anyone know the default username and password or has this been locked down by Vonage? I did purchase the router through them when I ordered their service.

    This is one of the irritating things about this router.  Many of the features of this router are "owned" by Vonage, including router firmware upgrades.
    To enable logging, you must call Vonage and get the password for the ID "Admin", (yes, it is an upper case "a").
    This password changes every 5 min and you must contact Vonage to get it, then if you want to change the IP, you must call them back and get the new password.  As such, it is best to set the IP to *.*.*.255 (IE; 192.168.1.255).  This will broadcast the logging data to all addresses in your network so you don't have issues with DHCP or chagning the destination in the future.

  • Email printing feature confusing

    we have a problem with the email printing feature of GroupWise 2012 and we aren't able to fix it or even to find out what the reason actually is why it is behaving like that. Maybe someone of you already had that problem and is able to help us here :-)
    A GroupWise user wants to print some emails. Depending(?) on the mail, it opens one of two different printing dialogs when clicking on "Print" (its always the same dialog per mail, but trying to print multiple mails, there are different dialogs):
    1. The "standard" print dialog where I can choose the printer, which pages I want to print and how many of them.
    2. A GroupWise print dialog where I can only choose what I want to print, but not which page for example (sometimes we just want to print the first page). There is a list of options to choose from. That list contains entries like the mail itself and all its attachments. But clicking on the mail itself in the list gives us only the option to print the whole mail and not just one oder two pages of it.
    Is there any possibility to print mails always with the standard dialog? Or to choose the number of pages in the second dialog?

    oh, I thought I checked that already but that really is it - we need to be in the HTML mode to print via the "first dialog" I mentioned in my initial post! Thank you so far!
    But if I send a plain text email to another person, this person isn't able to change the mode to "HTML", thus it isn't possible to print single pages (the "default layout" is already on HTML, but if we open a plain text mail, it is displayed in plain text and the HTML button is grayed out).
    Is there any way to change the view from plain text to HTML for plain text mails?

    ...I'm a bit frustrated.  I posted originally to the Verizon Direct forum on DSLr.  Usually I get great responses but this time I got a lame two liner, spelling errors included, from "Tonya C" telling me to post here.  Totally not used to getting bad tech support from Verizon.
    We have Verizon's Actiontec MI424-WR Router, rev C.
    I want the router to email its logs to me periodically. Below is what I've set, but so far I'm getting nothing - not even anything that would indicate it's even trying, in its own logs.
    In Advanced > Users > Administrator, I gave it our main account email address and set both 'tify pop-ups to "Information". Then I hit the "configure notification mail server" link and set:
    Outgoing Mail Server: outgoing.verizon.net
    From Email Address: <our main account name>@verizon.net
    Port: 587
    (checked) Server Requires Authentication
    User Name: <our main account name>
    Password: <the password>
    First, I tried using the standard port. Then google led me here:

    If it is truncating the password, this is the first I've heard of it but its possible as DSLR reports tests an awful lot of products that we don't always hear about.I would suggest contacting Verizon and have them test this in the engineering lab to confirm or deny that the issue is as they state.To my knowledge the feature should be working and from what you've described, it sounds like you've configured it correctly.

  • Email log in issues for over a week!

    I cannot log in to my email via the BT.com page. If I or anyone in my household tries to login to email via this page https://signin1.bt.com/login/emailloginform  then it goes nowhere, does not load and we have had this problem for over a week now - Hurry up BT and please sort this out !!!

    I'd be interested to know is you're now going via us yahoo not uk. I had the btyahoomail login page saved as bookmark and always signed in this way. My probs, enter address and password, press enter, the boxes went blank again, no error message etc, this happened for a few attempts. The new service box came up and I clicked yes, thinking it was the new bt mail thing. I then noticed my mail was going via us yahoo so went to my primary email, tried to log in,, same thing happened, this time I clicked no on the new service box, thinking I had done something wrong last time, as I don't know very much about IT. I then tried to access my yahoo account via my primary, to delete sub account and make new one but it won't let me. I click account info and get a yahoo sign in, click this and get the new bt home page, round and round we go. Spoke to tec support 2 days running for hours, they took control of my machine, nothing solved, said we'll pass it on and you'll hear in a couple of days, that was 14 jan, still waiting. So now my primary is uk yahoo and my sub is us yahoo. I'm not too bothered about the prob now, ( except for the annoying us ads) I'm sure it'll get sorted once bt get there act together and switch properly. It was the usyahoo not uk that worried me, I know very little about how these things work and was concerned my mail had been hacked.
