  • AT&T; sad but true

My family had been customers of AT&T for 10 years. We moved to a different town approximately one year ago. AT&T coverage in the new town was supposed to be acceptable but we constantly battled dropped calls, etc. We tried the booster that AT&T recommended which did not help much. We were forced to shop around for a different cell company that would provide coverage that my husband needed to run his business out of our home. Long story short, we did switch providers. We left AT&T in good standing. No outstanding balances, etc. We ended our service with AT&T 4 days into a new billing cycle. One of our five phone lines was still under contract for which we owed AT&T $400. I completely understand the $400 charge but they are also charging us for the whole 30 days of that new billing period even though we only had service for 4 of the 30 days. I attempted to talk to customer service who refused to look into prorating the monthly charge to reflect only those days that AT&T actually provided us service. I'm sure AT&T has a legal explanation but sometimes ethics in a situation is just as important as the legal aspect. It's really sad that a major corporation would run a business in this fashion. Be very careful if you cancel service with AT&T. If you cancel even one hour into the next billing cycle, you will be charge for the whole month.

Yes, it is in the terms of service that AT&T (and all the other providers) will not prorate the final month's service. Yes, it would be ethical if they would prorate the final month but I don't think that is going to happen.

  • Here's my story sad but true!

    Firstly my spec
    27-inch, Mid 2011
Processor  3.1 GHz Intel Core i5
    Memory  4 GB 1333 MHz DDR3
Graphics  AMD Radeon HD 6970M 1024 MB
    Software  OS X 10.8.3 (12D78)
I bought my imac in Nov 2011, not quite a year later I got the pink screen of death (I followed instructions to remedy) all seemed fine for a little while then when I played World of Warcraft it would crash. The mac would seem to be quite hot (top right of casing) anyway I took it back to the Apple shop, they looked it over told me there was nothing wrong. Seemed ok for a while but now my mac crashes even when not gaming. I have had every sort of crash I think possible, black screen, grey vertical pinstripe, black screen but can still hear everything I was watching ok, stuttering screen etc etc so I have to reboot to get back.
I did AHT, utility repairs, upgrade from lion to mountain lion erased & clean installed hoping that would fix it but no! tried smc fan fix but it won't let me get into that?
So I am guessing (I am a noob not an IT expert) that something major is wrong with the graphics.
I am also guessing a trip back to the apple store is imminent, at my expense (as I am now out of date for warrenty etc)
    Any ideas? Help?
Just call me Dr Graphic-berg (iceberg ahoy!)

I am also guessing a trip back to the apple store is imminent, at my expense (as I am now out of date for warrenty etc)
Worth a shot:  Since you are only 5 months out of warranty, call Apple Customer Relations.  Tell them exactly what you stated in your posting (politely).  If you have any receipts or paperwork documentation from your trips to the AS tell ACR.   See what they can do for you!
    GOOD LUCK!!!!

after 6 proud month of owning this board.........i must say my time with msi has almost ended. the board has given up on the most important part of her duty and thats the SATA connection..... when i first got the board there were 2 connectors. well 1 didnt work off the bat, so i had 1 working which was fine cuz i only had 1 drive. heres wut drove me oever the edge. just a few days ago the MOBO wont detect MY ONLY SATA maxtor 80gb , but after continuously pressing the power. it finally came up, it almost felt like winning the lottery.but days later it seems no matter how many times i press that power button. it just wont detect. i have gotten a new drive from the nice people at maxtor with the same result. and my delta doesnt have the sata connection...so my question is to u'll could it be the cable is bad or is it the mobo.

Read the blue link in my signature and then make your self one like mine.
The only way to answer your question is try replacing the cable and then if that does not work swap the motherboard, you could have a bad one, that does happen to everyone at some point, with EVERY manufacturer.
Try the latest BIOS for your motherboard lately?
Come back with the rest of the info we need to help you better.

  • Strange But True can anyone explain????

I have used a Time Capsule for sometime now as backup , shared drive and Network. and i have only ever been able to access it for my iphoto and itunes (300gb of photos and music) from the TC wifi network.
then tonight i have been able to access my TC fully through my BT Homehub and also use printers connected to that network get my iphoto file and also my itunes music , but not able to use my speakers on my airtunes network.
the only change i have made is adding an HP all-in-one printer , scanner etc to the BT network.
and if i change network to the TC i can not use the printer that is connected on the BT network.
and also i can not use or see the printer connected to the TC if i am on the BT network.
and light that you may be able to shed would be most apppreciated

Normally you would connect the Time Capsule wirelessly to your network as a wireless client. In that mode, anyone on the network would be able to use any of the Time Capsule services.
If you connect the Time Capsule via Ethernet to your existing network, you would need to configure the Time Capsule to act as a bridge (not sharing a single IP address) to get the same ability.

  • Strange but true - need help!

My project in iMovie is 19GB.(due to photos) Exported to Quicktime it is 2.5 GB but it you get movie info whilst open in Quicktime it is 4.97.
If I launch directly in iDVD it seems to be 0.4 (best quality). If I burn it, it quits about 90% of the way thro' and the DVD seems full.
I originally suspected a glich so I exported to QT then imported to iDVD (0.4 again). I am trying to loop it but either way it quits, the DVDs both play but finish at exactly to same frame (about 90%)
I preview it in iDVD it plays and loops. I have archived the project and it is 4.97GB. Yet the movie is only 12 minutes long.
Welcome any ideas or help. This is a Promotional School DVD that I am desperate to finish.

My project in iMovie is 19GB.(due to photos)
Exported to Quicktime it is 2.5 GB
What form of QuickTime file? What you want is
    'full-quality', DV video.
A 12 minute QuickTime movie in DV form should be
about 2.6 GB in size. When put on a DVD is Best
Performance mode, it should take about 1 GB when the
theme content is taken into account.
Yes, it is infact 2.49 GB according to preview. I exported it using full-quality as you suggest. I have been burning DVDs since at least Spring '02, so to produce two coasters on the run is a bit of a surprise! As I have burnt 60 minute DVDs of about 4GB I would expect about 1-1.5 Gb at most. I have checked the DVD in preview it runs OK. I am beginning to think it has something to do with the photos, their original size and final size on rendering. 19GB for a movie project also seems excessive.
    Still puzzled.
    Thanks, Geraint

  • Impossible but true startup problem/solution

My girlfriend's ibook G3, 700 mh processor, 384 ram, running 10.2.8 starting having problems. The ball would spin forever… one day while in the Mail program the ball spun and spun and she finally held down the power button till the thing shut down. When she tried to turn it back on, it gave the chime, greyscreen with apple and spinning gear… and never went past that mark. If you let it run for an hour or so, it would eventually go to the black Darwin screen and ask for a password. I started it up from the install disk, ran DU, it said all was well. Attempts to reboot resulted in the spinning gear forever and/or Darwin. I ran fsck numerous times; always told me the volume appeared to be OK. I attempted to start up from the install disk again -- wouldn't do it. I ran fsck some more. All OK. I tried starting up in safe mode -- it took a LONG time, but finally did. I backed up all the files onto an external HD. Restart: back to the spinning gear. After numerous repeats of all this, I managed to start up again from the install disk -- so I chose Archive and Install and clicked continue. It ran through it's whole cycle, restarted to the spinning gear. I restarted to the disk, this time it worked for awhile, then said it was examining the target disk and predicted 8 hours, then 10 hours, then 13 hours -- and then all of a sudden it ran through everything and finished and restarted. Got a nice blue screen and request to insert disk 2. Did so and it installed all the rest and then the HD and all the files and apps reappeared magically! Found a previous systems folder too, as predicted. But what I can't understand is this: the system returned to 10.2.1, which was what it was when she bought it. BUT -- all the non-Apple software she had is STILL THERE and STILL RUNS. Microsoft Office, airport (which didn't come on the original disks), some other apps. How is that possible? While Netgear, for example, appears as the airport connection, and works fine -- although the Netgear software is nowhere to be found!
It's been running now for several hours and seems more or less OK. But every so often it is quite SLOW, particularly in the mail program. VERY SLOW.
    Strange, huh?

Archive/install option doesn't wipe your disk. All your third party software should still be there. Here is a link to the FAQ "Installation Options and Their Meaning"

  • Gross but True - Mold on the Flat Surface Near the keyboard.

OK, yes, I may have slightly more sweaty then average hands, but still...
I can see these small blue splotches forming where my palms rest during typing, on the large flat areas below my keyboard.
I dont' want to use bleach on that surface, any suggestons on what to use to remove this?

Anodized aluminum is usually pretty inert, but there is the occasional person whose skin chemistry will actually start to react and leave permanent marks. There may not be any way to remove these if that is in fact what is happening. It may not be mold, but corrosion. If that's the case, you might have to spring for one of those (Marware I think) protection deals with the palm rest protector.
Alcohol may not be be capable of removing surface mold. You could also try something like a 409 wipe or even a bit of ammonia based cleaner or Lysol on a soft cloth. Do NOT use bleach as it would attack the aluminum. Do NOT use acetone as it would attack any painted or plastic parts.
But if there is actual corrosion and the spots are actually tiny pits, I don't know of anything that will make them go away. You might want to examine the surface closely under magnification and see if you can tell.
    Good luck!

  • Sad but starting to abandon Skype

I have been a long time Skype customer, but today, after around two or three years of constantly declining quality, I have finally cancelled my subscription. I'm sure people will tell me to check my network settings, etc, but I'm getting a lot better results using Viber for voice and Google Talk/ Face time for video calls under the same conditions (I am in a PC/Mac/Android/IOs/Linux household, so I have tested in multiple platforms).
It didn't use to be like this. Might be my imagination, but it seems to have started when Microsoft bought it. I've always loved Skype so I do hope they turn this product around. Just putting it out there so that Skype nows that the drop in quality is being noticed, and that other users with the same problems know that there are other options now. Thanks for listening!

  • STRANGE but TRUE! This is really happening...

I can't figure this one out. I hope someone can help. My iMac suddenly hates the internet with a passion. It started happening after I downloaded iTunes 5.0 with the albumn "yello - the eye".
First off, I have had to hold down the power button to shut down my frozen iMac 4 times in the past 2 days. When I reboot, the boot music is gone, my volume display is gone, it locks up with Safari, Firefox, Mail, etc. and I can't seem to run any software having to do with the internet as well as any other software. I can only open and use about 2 programs at a time (if I'm lucky) that have nothing to do with the internet such as Word & photoshop, but when those hang, force-quit won't even open and I can't shut the system down except for the power button.
Now get this, as soon as I unplug my cat5 cable from the back of my iMac, everything suddenly works fine, my volume display returns, other programs open up just fine, I can now force-quit, and when I reboot, the mac music/sound plays.
What in the world is going on??? Please help. Thanks

    Hello AgeMaker!
I don't know if anybody has asked you to do this, but try this. Go into your hard drive, click Applications, go to Utilities, and finally scroll down to Disk Utility. Open that and click on your hard drive under Disk Utility. At the bottom of the window, it will tell you if your hard drive is either "Verified" or "Failed". Verified is good and means that the problems you are experiening aren't with your hard drive, but if it is failed you hard drive is dying and you will need to back up all your data and contact AppleCare to get the drive replaced.

    Hi All
Below are the 2 exactly same code to send Email :
    CODE 1:_

    sender => '[email protected]'
    ,recipients => '[email protected]'
    ,subject => 'Testing email'
,message => 'HERE THERE is a PROBLEM'
    END;
When i change the "MESSAGE"i am getting the errror ORA-29279: SMTP permanent error: 550 5.7.1 Requested action not taken: message refused .
    What may be the reason.
    Regards,

Edited by: Mudassir on Mar 27, 2010 3:38 PM

    Hello Mudassir,
When i change the subject i am getting the errror ORA-29279:IN your code above i see the subject is the same.
Or are you saying when you change the Message you get that error, because the message in your 2 codes above is different.
Also is this the copy paste?
May be your server rejects with certain words in the message (Assuming the messga in the actual
mail you are sending is differne than given below)
    Case 2:
When you try next try this
Execute the second code first and then the first code.
If your first code fails, that means your SMTP expects some delay between messages sent from the same user or IP.
    Hope it helps.
    Kind Regards,

  • New Project - New Problems or The day the Reaper died

Ok, this is more like telling a story than a cry for help.
The story is about a new project, new (great) results and the disaster that followed.
Well story starts October 21st with me upgrading rig 1 with new parts. They came for my Opteron165 setup which oc'ed nicely but didn't make it far enough. So board, cpu and ram of rig 1 (sig) got replaced by the following parts:
    The new cpu is an Athlon X2 5200+ EE (TDP 65W), 2.6ghz, 2x 1024kb L2 cache, 90nm, F3 stepping.
The board is from MSI (of course), a K9N SLi Platinum. Very nice board and luckily it is PCB version 1.2 which features a heatpipe while the older version just had a very bad cooling, passive aluminium heat sink. The older version is the one still to be seen on MSI product site.
The new one looks therefor way better and stays cooler:
In addition I threw a pair of the finest ddr2 ram in it. A 2gb dual channel kit of OCZs new DDR2 PC2-6400 Reaper CL3 Edition. DDR2-800 with 3-4-4-15 (stock), guranteed to work with 2.3volts.
So suppositions for oc were great and I started:
First of all upgraded the bios from 1.8 to the latest 1.10. Then I thought why go step by step, why not starting big. So I set HT clock to 250mhz, resulting in a cpu clock of 3250mhz (multi 13), Hyper transport link set to 800mhz (x4), ram very relaxed (divider 667, 5-5-5-15 2T). It didn't post but I thought solution is easy, forgot to set extra voltage for cpu. Next try at 3250 mhz with 1.25v and set 0.1v extra in bios. It didn't post. I set voltage to maximum but no luck. Tried again but this time I lowered the HT link to 600mhz (x3). Now it posted even with 1v extra and it also booted XP but seemed to be not very stable. So set extra voltage to 0.15v which enhanced stability greatly.
After minor driver problems my old XP installation worked pretty perfectly with the new setup. Time had come to see if it was stable and I started Orthos. It seemed to be ok, 1hour no problems, 2hours, 3hours and bam... 3hours 40 minutes and that's it. I thought "Damn, but it will make it with more voltage". I added more voltage (0.2v extra) and started Orthos again but no way, at 4hours 32 minutes it stopped again.
I'm not easy to discourage and so I added 0.25v to the 1.25v vcore and tried another time. Still 250x13 = 3250mhz.
    And it worked!
Orthos now easiely worked six hours when I stopped it myself to see if it would also be stable with more intensed ram settings. I set ram divider to 800mhz (1:1) resulting in DDR2-929 and timings to 4-4-4-15 2T.
I started Orthos and left the machine alone... Outstanding 16 hours later it was still working!
After 17hours 5 minutes and 50 seconds of running Orthos I knew I had a stable beast!
It also worked with ram set to divider 667 (resulting in 406mhz or ddr2-812) and 3-4-4-15 2T. However 1T was a real killer, thats why I left command rate at 2T and were happy so far.
Performance was really good and I wanted to know if this would increase my 3dmark06 results which were already great with old setup because of nicely oc'ed 8800GTS 320. The opteron could do 9572 3dmarks with it.
The new setup easiely broke the 10.000 points by reaching 10306 points with cpu at 3250mhz, ram at ddr2-929 (4-4-4-15 2T), vga as seen in sig.
It really seemed to be finished. The rest would be just playing around and going for suicide clocks. At least that was what I thought at that time.
Before maxing it out I wanted to have the Vista 64 Ultimate installation also running with the new setup. I hadn't booted vista since upgrading to the am2 system, so I tried for the first time....
AND NOW EVERYTHING GOT F***** UP
Vista welcomed me with a blue screen instead of a logon screen. I was pi**** but aware it might not like changing from NForce4 SLi to NForce 570 SLI. Next step was trying safe mode but vista thought of blue mode and showed a screen of that colour. I thought "ok, maybe you dislike setup change" and so I went for a clean install. I even formated the partition and gave it a go. Installation was fine 'til first start. Well, it wasn't a start to be honest as vista told me it was not able to do this. Repair wasn't successful either.
Assumption was now system is not making the oc clocks although proved to be stable under XP. So I removed any oc and loaded fail-safe mode in bios. Relaxed ram timings to 5-5-5-18. I started installing vista again, thought I could oc again when it is installed.
Oh boy, how wrong I were...  The 2nd installation turned out to be as faulty as the first and I tried again and again... After installation failed nine times I were finally discouraged.
I just wanted to boot XP for now, forget about installing vista and maybe ask here if it this was a known issue.
Well, I didn't get to see XP. I was just informed about a missing file that also prevented to boot safe mode. I took my XP cd and started automatic repair. After this was nearly finished the first errors and notifications about unknown, missing or corrupted files appeared. Although XP made it to finish install and booted successfully. But this XP wasn't a real XP as many things didn't work. I couldn't install drivers because loads of errors and crc crap made working with it impossible. Clear install time! But no way, same issues like seen in vista.
Now I were pretty desperate and I urgently needed an idea.  I came to the solution maybe I could try with single channel, using just one mem stick. I removed one and tried installing XP again. It worked without any issue. Even driver installation and other software worked without a problem. Now I were even able to install Vista.
But still I didn't know what caused all the trouble. I had three suspects: Mobo, ram, cpu. I doubted in faulty board but cpu (failing to control dual channel) or the ram stick I removed were my favorites. As it was the easiest to try I put the other stick back in but used a slot combination that would cause single channel.  Booting Vista now turned out to be a disaster. Errors, corrupt files and so on. Same with XP.
Conclusion: Dual channel is not the problem. Added mem stick was now suspect no.1. I took the first one out and started memtest. Memtest didn't show errors after 8hours. I wondered and started Vista. Result was the same as seen before with two sticks. Errors and access violations. Replaced this stick with the other one and everything was fine again.
Next day I tried with a borrowed MDT 2gb dual channel kit which also worked without a problem.
Sad but true one of the Reapers is K.I.A. . Damn....
Now I'm sitting here with a borrowed kit of value ram which luckily allows me to let the cpu run at 3250mhz with mem divider at 667mhz (result: 406mhz) and which I can luckily keep 'til I get another kit of Reapers. I have to send my current Reapers back to vendor these days and wait for the rma process and wait and wait....
So what started greatly ended not so great. For now I'm sick and tired of seeing bios screens or installing windows and I'm also pretty pi**** because of all the data I lost. Some crucial ones among them.
Main problem remains: I have no idea WHY the Reaper died. I never set any higher vdimm than 2.3v what should be ok for it. It never felt hot and was directly in the main airflow. Also I have no clue why memtest didn't find any error with the faulty stick.

Be aware that you have to keep an eye on shader clocks when oc'ing the gpu. With common tools you're oc'ing gpu and shaders at the same time. Since I'm suspecting a misproportion of gpu/shader clocks to be one of the reasons for problems with factory oc'ed Geforce 8 you should try with different combinations. With the latest Riva Tuner you can change 'em seperately without having to mod the bios.
Memory is at it's end I suppose, that's the problem with most high end cards, no potential. Seems as you have to live with that.
That's true for HD2900 series I think but as far as I know 8800GTX needs it even for stable working.
Could be your psu is too weak, maybe really time for the new Corsair. On the other hand should be strong enough I guess.
You're ungrateful! That good old 3500+ oc'ed so well and was once a real performer and you call him crap.... bad boy.
"You're ungrateful! That good old 3500+ oc'ed so well and was once a real performer and you call him crap.... bad boy. "
yes you are right the CPU perform great, but its just old..(is not CPU fault in direct sense )
"Be aware that you have to keep an eye on shader clocks when oc'ing the gpu. With common tools you're oc'ing gpu and shaders at the same time. Yes im aware about it, but not this is the case.. i got instability even with 2Mhz on the GD more...SD remain @ stock 1350 and memory stock as well.. and go instability...
Reversed story if i put everythink is stock, but +2Mhz more on the memory i got the same instability....
"With the latest Riva Tuner you can change 'em separately without having to mod the bios."
hmm nope here, its locked increasing GD clock inscrease SD clock as well. they are locked and increased in parallel.(etc, both in same time)
"Memory is at it's end I suppose, that's the problem with most high end cards, no potential. Seems as you have to live with that."
mem. chips used are for 1000Mhz the VGA stock, MSI is not OCed them.. so they must have potencial.. also VGA is adverted with DOT... at least its designed to handle till 5-6% OC, i have done few review(don't trust much here, but anyway its an info) and user opinion no problem to OC till 2100Mhz(1050). So i doubt that is memory problem.
"Could be your psu is too weak, maybe really time for the new Corsair. On the other hand should be strong enough I guess."
Yes that is the only conclusion which i can stuck at the moment... Good news is that i have talked with distributor today and they ensured me that will delivered tomorow for me. So tomorow i will know more about that mistery when i install the more powerful(and hope so great) PSU.

  • Problems with dropped calls and no reception on Samsung Continuum

My mother and I both purchased a Samsung Continuum in late March 2011, and have experienced the same problems with the phone.  The device drops at least 2-3 calls per day, often on the same conversation; we have not found that location or time of day makes a difference.  The phone freezes up frequently, even if no apps are running in the background.  We lose our 3G network reception frequently, and cannot access our texts, emails, or the internet.  The screen saver kicks in even when we are actively dialing a number, or typing in a text message.  The overall performance of the phone is also poor, and it is quite slow much of the time.
We have raised this issue several times with a representative at one of the Verizon stores, but he states that he can find no problem with the phone, and that these issues may not be covered under our insurance plan.  None of my friends with non-Samsung phones are having the same problems with phone reception and performance.  I am aggravated enough with these issues that I am considering reactivating my old Blackberry, which worked like a charm.
I am not upset that my phone has not been updated to Android 2.2.  I just want the phone to perform as stated, and not fail at its primary function:  making and receiving phone calls.  I am not certain if these problems originate with the phone, Verizon, or Samsung, nor do I care.  I just want to resolve these issues as soon as possible, or I will have to look at other alternatives.
    Thank you.

If this doesn't work...now what??? I have a useless $400 plus piece of unreliable junk. My Motorola Razor was ions more reliable than this phone...very, very sad but true.
What carrier were you using with the Razor? AT&T? Same area?

How do I get iChat 3 working ? Upgrade hints:FAQ
    Trouble Shooting Revisited
Ok We will start with loading Tiger and iChat version 3.0
    From Panther
There are or were serveral Add-ons and applications avaiblable to Panther users of iChat that are not compatible with iChat 3.
These following need to be deleted.
iCAR - An Add-on that posts an Auto response Away message (produces a 1 fps result in a Video chat)
Virex for Panther - An Anti Virus app avialable to @mac account users (Produces the 1 fsp problem)
iChatUSBCam for Panther/iChat2.x - A Add-on utility for using iSight or USB cam with iChat2.x (Incompatible with Tiger/iChat 3)
iProfile - An Add-on for producing a profile on the AIM server that ichat 2.x could not do (not proven to be a problem but now not needed).
A clean install of Tiger (not Archive and Install) produces the best results.
But any install should also check these Tiger settings.
First, UPGRADE to 10.4.3 as this gets past many Connection issues that became apparent with the basic Tiger (10.4) and iChat 3.0 It updates iChat to version 3.1
    Check Settings
Don't be complacent that you have not set anything different.
There are several new things in Tiger that may trip you up.
    These are worth looking at:
Mac Firewall. Now includes the ability to Block all UDP traffic in the Advanced button (System Preferences > Sharing >Firewall tab then the Advanced Button).
Also can now open UDP protocol for ports where as the Panther one only did TCP (Check any old Panther settings you Added to the presets).
    The ports should be:
    TCP -5190
    UDP -5060, 5190, 5678, 16384-16403
There are more ports for Bonjour 5297, 5298, 5353 UDP and 5298 TCP and Jabber, 5220, 5222, 5223 on TCP)
    (Table View see 7th Sept)
QuickTime. This has a change in the name of the Connection Speed tab to Streaming (System Preferences > QuickTime) Check this is set to be equal to your connection speed (the download one if this is faster). See Apple Doc 301641 Dated 9th November 2005.
Date & Time. Not conclusively involved but worth eliminating. Set a Network Server and the correct Time Zone.
Apple Remote Desktop. If this is active in System Preferences > Sharing > Services tab it causes problems for iChat.
Next, test the actual speed you are getting from your ISP.
    http://www.dslreports.com/stest
There is a table here of the speeds you need:
    http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=301050
The one you get linked to in the Help menu is wrong.
    Other Known Problems
There are several other applications that iChat 3 does not seem to like.
folding@home This is a application that uses spare processor time to help find protein chains for a University.
PostgreSQL This is a data base application that can be reset to allow more processor time for iChat. See here http://www.murraywilliams.com/blog/archives/000046.html
Lotus Notes Some people have reported problems with this.
Make sure any Add-on Video cards or input PCI cards have up to date Firmware
IF you are still having problems I would do Routine Maintenance Tasks as laid out here.
Lastly, some routers/modems are SIP aware and give different results in iChat 3 compared to iChat 2.
This is due to the Operating System changing (like a new computer connecting to the modem) rather than iChat.
See My web pages: page4 at the SIP Text in a Box section.
Also for the above try some housekeeping particularly if you do not keep your Computer on 24/7 Gulliver, "kmosx3: Mac OS X 10.3/10.4: System maintenance"

i think apple needs to keep up with the jones here, so far i read at LOGIC PRO FORUMS many saying cubase and pro tools left logic in the dust, 1 year ago already, sad, but true
in anycase, trye starting one app before the other to see which combination works., other wise i think more apps will fall out of sync with old logic pro

i have used an example on the web to help me do this, so it may look familiar!!
It works fine when i run the program in debug mode but doesn't work when i run the jar file, i was wondering if anyone could help me understand why? or give me a clue as to where to look as i have had the strange realisation that i rarely compile my code up to be used by other people!!
sad but true! Also apologies if i haven't posted adequate information, this is the first time i have posted on the forum asking for help!
Anyway help would be most appreciated and thanks in advance

Sorry, by debug mode i mean running it using netbeans 5.5 and clicking on the "run main project" icon.
Once i have cleaned and built the main project all of the files are put into the jar file. Once i have done that i double click on the jar icon
is that ok? there doesn't seem to be any errors
