Safari 3 (Leopard), Proxy and CPANEL access = crash

Question

Just downright strange..
I host a few sites on a shared linux server with cpanel/whm as the site management platform...
Updated to Leopard and now if I access the cpanel through a proxy server, Safari Crashes.. If I access the same sites without going through the proxy server, it works fine...
One peculiarity... the Cpanel access gets turned into a "ported" URL (www.xxx:2082/) These are the ones that crash..
Access to any other hosted page works fine..
Just downright strange.. Anybody else seeing this??

10.5.1 did not fix the problem.
The problem seems ideed to be proxy-related ... at home without proxy there is no problem, here at work using a proxy PubSubAgent crashes about once every hour.
I tried both static proxy config and .pac file, made no difference.
