Safari 7.0.4 Flash in-app Ad issues

Safari 7.0.4 does not block the In-app flash ads... I tried Glimmberblocker, Safari extension, actually downloaded safari adblock from their site. Non of them works. Anyone know how to block the flash in-app ads??? I mean before you start a video there is stupid commerical ads playing. I dont want to use other browsers besides Safari. But Apple really need to fix this ASAP! or if anyone figured out please let me know!!! Thanks so much!

Basically look at the comparison between Safari 7.0.4 & Google Chrome. The in-app flash ad is blocked automatically when I use chrome browser, however safari 7.0.4 starts automatically with ad while adblocker is installed. It is not from extension, i actually tried the extension and it did the same thing. I went to their main site and downloaded, but the result is same. See pictures below.

y safari wont open it flashes closed whenever I try?  What did I do

Try clearing Safari's cache : Settings > Safari > Clear Cache (and Clear History)
If that doesn't work then try closing Safari completely and then re-open it : from the home screen (i.e. not with Safari 'open' on-screen) double-click the home button to bring up the taskbar, then press and hold any of the apps on the taskbar for a couple of seconds or so until they start shaking, then press the '-' in the top left of the Safari app to close it, and touch any part of the screen above the taskbar so as to stop the shaking and close the taskbar.
A third option is a reset : press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds (ignore the red slider), after which the Apple logo should appear - you won't lose any content, it's the iPad equivalent of a reboot.

So the site requires flash player? Sounds different than what you first asked.

  • ""Install Adobe Flash Player.app" can't be opened because... not downloaded from the Mac App Store"

I jsut upgraded to 10.9 and it is up to date and also my safari is up to date (no updates available for it). My safari is saying that my flash is out of date. when I follow the links it lets me download but when I double click to install it tell me "“Install Adobe Flash Player.app” can’t be opened because it was not downloaded from the Mac App Store.". When I install the flash UNinstaller and try to install that, it tells me the same. I ALSO found the exact same problem when I tried to install the acrobat installer (some tried to download a pdf and the page told me that my acrobat reader 'might' be out of date). Any thought?

You're running up against the GateKeeper.
Download the offline installer: Flash Player 12.0.0.44 (Mac OS X) by right clicking and choosing "Download Linked File As".
Mount the DMG and when it opens, right click the installer and choose "Open".
You'll see a warning. Click "Open" again.
    It will run from there.

  • Safari cannot play certain flash videos

After the latest update safari cannot play some flash videos, it can be a youtube video as well...
There's a hungarian site that has videos and my safari cannot play any of them. The site is www.indavideo.hu . On a MacBook Air the Outlook cannot open new mail and a Microsoft community site said that it is a problem caused by safari... What?
I've tried to delete flash, reinstall it, delete Java, reinstall it, but Java works fine.
I think I should reinstall Safari, but I don't want to reinstall the whole computer...
    Does anyone have any idea?
    Thanks,
    Csaba

For Flash issues, try this ...
Open System Preferences > Flash Player then select the Advanced tab.
Click Delete All under Browsing Data and Settings
Back to Safari. Press Command + Option + E to empty the Safari cache.
Quit and relaunch Safari, try a video.
If that doesn't help, you may have the YouTube HTML5 beta enabled.
    Opt out here >  YouTube
Keep in mind, Outlook is a Microsoft product, not Apple and therefore, you may experience problems. However, you may be able to setup your Outlook account in the Mac Mail app.
Open Mac Mail. From the menu bar click File >  Add Account
That way you won't have to use Safari (web based email) to access your Outlook acocunt.

  • Safari doesn't find Flash

    Hello,
I try to open a website (www.cousteau.org) but Safari tells me that I must install flash player. But when I watch installed plug-in for safari i saw that flash player has been installed. I don't understand why safari didn't find flash plug-in.
On this forum I found several solutions :
    - restaure disk autorizations
    - uninstall flash plug-in
the first one did't solve my problem and I am not able to uninstall flash (I am a new mac user and I don't know wher I can delete installed files).
    Help is welcome.

Welcome to Apple Discussions and Mac Computing
The problem is not with your system or browser. The problem lies with the web developer. Seems the site is not Mac friendly as it does not work on either Safari, Opera, Camino or Firefox on my system. The site message: This site makes use of Flash 5. To experience it the way we intended, you need Macromedia Flash Player 5, a plug-in for your Wed Browser that can play the content we've created. Strange, as Flash is now up to Version 9. Either, something is wrong with the site in general (all platforms are affected), or the coding does not recognize the Mac browsers.
To contact the web developer you will need to access the site on a Windows system. Perhaps, you may encourage them to move up from the ocean depths into the 21st century.

  • Help Please. OS 10.5, Safari 5.0.6, Flash and Java

    Hi.
I am very frustrated right now.  A few days ago, I upgraded my MacPro to OS 10.5 .  Everything seemed to be working fine until all of a sudden a fe days ago.
Now Flash and Java don't work.
I get an error message saying missing plug-in.  So I went to the adobe page to download the latest version.  The only thing that would happen on that page is the banner in the middle frame disappeared and nothing would download using Safari.  I opened Firefox and it was able to download it.  I  ran the uninstaller, then installed the newests version, 10.??? (Newest on allowed on my computer)
I rebooted the computer to be safe and opened Safari and still no flash, same message.  It works fine in Firefox and Seamonkey, just not safari.  I checked for  plug-ins and it doesn't show up.   It IS in the OS preference, but there is nothing I can see to do.
Flash makes way to many things work to just ignore it.  Please help.
I have repeated this step more than once to no avail.
Secondly, Java.  Java is not installed anymore.  It WAS and I was having a problem with the window opening and staying open.  I adjusted a setting not to open the window, then it stopped completely.   I backtracked and undid the do not open window and still doesn't work.
I found a Java testing page and this is what I was given - "The page “Java Tester - Is Java Enabled?” attempted to load Java content, but Java is unavailable or not installed."
I am now downloading Java again from the apple page, 1.6.0_33.  However, one poster said not to use it at all.  It's difficult to do many things with no Java at all.
    Please advise.
Thank you in advance for your help!

Now, follow my standard upgrading advice:
Get a bootable, external HD (preferably FireWire, since it's 40-50% faster than USB 2 and designed for data transfers), make a bootable backup/clone before updating/upgrading, and ensure that it's bootable and works like the original. That allows you to revert to the previous good state without having to reinstall or reset anything. See these for details:

    http://www.thexlab.com/faqs/installswupdates.html

If you only have a Time Machine backup, ensure that you can reliably restore it to another disk/volume/partition before updating/upgrading.

  • Apple's "FLASH KILLER" App

Will Apple (or someone) please make a Flash killer? Just as Final Cut Pro was a breathe of fresh air to the nonsense of Avid & Premiere, we need a simliar thing to happen to Adobe Flash.
    FLASH KILLER APP
    - A vector brush tool that's not like drawing with a tube of toothpaste. Professional content requires professional tools.
    - The ability both import and export between other applications & common formats seamlessly.
              - Ability to import and export layered files (PSD/TIF) between other apps, including layers within nested timelines.
Most workflows are circular with other apps, not linear.
    - HTML5 and SWF compatibility
    - An artist friendly interface (What pages was to MSword)
    - 3D compatibility
    - An artist friendly coding language (this is one of the only things Adobe Flash has gotten right).
    - Image Frame mode (option to see images in frames).
    - Storyboard Frames View mode (Ability to turn your timeline into a full screen storyboard. Can drag and drop frames where desired. Great for brainstorming and sketching something out beforehand, then stepping back to look at it during creation. Toggleable Timeline < > Storyboard Views. *Could add a slider to adjust how many frames it counts before making a new storyboard preview.
    - Smart Libary Pasting. In Flash you either get to keep the existing symbols, or replace them with new ones when pasting from one doc to another. In my experience, when you paste something you often want BOTH things in there. I'd definitely include that very basic option.
Anyone else? What do you wish Flash could do?

HTML5 support via iOS is extended yet again with an updated webkit in iOS 5.

    Here’s some updates.
I can not uninstall Flash (CS4) using "Adobe Creative Suite 4 Design Premium". It looks like Flash is not installed.
If I try to install it using the disk, it looks like Flash is not installed at all. So I go thrue the installation process, and follow the instructions, until it’s complete.
But if I go in my App folder, and look in the Adobe Flash CS4 folder the Flash.app icon has a circle with a bar in it. This is when I get the message.

  • Mac OS-X 10.6.8,  Safari 5.1.9, Flash Player 11.7.700.169 ,  all i get is "Blocked Plugin,

Mac OS-X 10.6.8,  Safari 5.1.9, Flash Player 11.7.700.169 ,  all i get is "Blocked Plugin, I have tried for 3 days to install.
Unable to watch any videos on youtube. Keep getting prompted to download, says install complete, but every time i click on a video all i get is "Blocked Plug in"
Can someone please provide a solution, by the look of the discussion board there are many many people with no flash player, and yet to see a single reply with any suggestions or solutions.

    Hi,
Flash Player 11.7.700.169 is extremely old and vulnerable to security attacks. What you're seeing is Apple blocking the old, out-dated, insecure version of Flash Player.  To avoid this, please install the latest version of Flash Player at https://get.adobe.com/flashplayer.

  • Inserting Metadata events in a live stream using non-flash client app

    Hi all,
I wish to insert captions into a live flash video stream.
    I found an example here : http://www.adobe.com/devnet/flashmediaserver/articles/metadata_video_streaming_print.html
but this example uses a Flash client app wich can invoke something like
    video_nc.call("sendDataEvent",null,inputfield_txt.text);
How can do this without any Flash client/environment ? (I of course still use an FMS 3.5)
I would like to use a python (or php...whatever) piece of code to extract caption from VBI in the incoming video stream and insert it in the flash stream.
    Any help / experience appreciated.
    Regards
    Michel

Well, I'll ask it a different way :
Is there any documentation on the protocol used between Flash client and FMSI so that I can  "fake" the flash client using php ?
Is there a way to call sendDataEvent function on the FMSI NOT using a Flash client ?
    Thanks
    Regards

  • Safari will not display flash sites

safari will not display flash sites?  Instead it will show a small box that says "flash" and once you click on it, it then displays the flash site!!
Any ideas as to why this is happening?
    I am running .....
    Vendor: Oracle Corporation
Version: Java SE 7 Update 25
    and
    Flash Player: 11.8.800.94

From the Safari menu bar, select
    Safari ▹ Preferences ▹ Extensions
Turn all extensions OFF and test. If the problem is resolved, turn extensions back ON and then disable them one or a few at a time until you find the culprit.
If you wish, you may be able to salvage the malfunctioning extension by uninstalling and reinstalling it. Its settings will revert to their defaults. If the extension still causes a problem, remove it permanently or refer to its developer for support.

  • Safari 2.0.2 - Flash Issues

I've got a bit of a problem here. You see, I just had Comcast High Speed Internet installed in my house. It's a secured network and only my laptop and my mom's laptop can use the signal, so it's not a lack of bandwidth. While the guy was here installing it and explaining how to use the new DVR my mom bought from them I decided to see how fast flash animations load now that I got the high speed connection. Only to my disbelief... nothing. Anything flash doesn't load at all on my laptop. I decided to start a little experiment and picked up my mom's 14" iBook. I opened Safari and Bam... Flash worked for her. "Alright, what the heck's going on?" I said. I then opened the about window for Safari to see if it was a version issue and viola, I believe that's the culprit. She has Safari 2.0 and I have 2.0.2. I thought, "Alright, I'll just download version 2.0 from Apple's website and see if the downgrade helps. I run into another problem, it says that it can't be installed on my Hard drive because I don't meet the system requirements. We both have Tiger (10.4.3) and she's got an iBook and I've got a 17" PowerBook and mine doesn't meet the system requirements? Alright... I went to see what these system requirements were. They were OS X 10.3 - 10.3.8. She's got Tiger... that's 10.4.3! A full 0.0.5 versions newer than what it says it supports, but it runs on her laptop and flash works fine for her. Also, I had no problems when I used Dial-Up.
Anyone know what the heck's going on with my computer?
*Flash works fine in both Internet Explorer and Firefox (Yeah, I don't get it either)* I also tried redownloading the Flash player from Macromedia... did it 3 times and still... no result.
Also, it's my first post here, so if I'm missing some well needed information, sorry. Let me know and I'll try to remember to elaborate more in my posts.
    17" PowerBook G4   Mac OS X (10.4.3)   1.5 GHZ G4 | 512 MB RAM | 80 GB HD

I figured it out. The guy that installed the internet turned off Plug-Ins in Safari. I feel so stupid for not looking at the preferences earlier.

  • Safari does not recognize flash plug-in and will not play flash video

I use Safari as my go-to browser for web sites that would otherwise require me to turn off my several ad-block/flash-block plugIns for Firefox.  I do have it set to ask for permission ('Trust this site?') for every time I use flash on a new site (since I reset Safari regularly and clear all cookies every time I close it this means every time, every site, it asks).  New problem started sometime in the past week:  Safari is returning a 'download flash' icon on some videos on some web sites--but on others it correctly goes through the 'trust this site to use flash?' routine and when I click 'trust now' it plays the video normally.  Trying to figure out if this is a Safari problem, flash problem, or web site problem.  How can Safari both recognize that flash is being asked for (that's why it shows me the 'download flash now' icon, right?) and not recognize that it has flash installed?
    Safari Version 7.0.4 (9537.76.4)

If you're sure you've installed the latest version of Flash, take each of the following steps that you haven't already tried. After each step, relaunch Safari and test. For a "missing plug-in" error, start with Step 8. Back up all data before making any changes.
    Step 1
You might have to log out or restart the computer before a Flash update takes effect.
    Step 2
From the Safari menu bar, select
Safari ▹ Preferences... ▹ Privacy ▹ Remove All Website Data...
and confirm. Close the window. Then select
     ▹ System Preferences… ▹ Flash Player ▹ Advanced
and click Delete All. Close the preference pane.
    Step 3
If you're only having trouble with YouTube videos, log in to YouTube and load this page. You may see a link with the text "Leave the HTML5 Trial." If so, click that link.
    Step 4
If you get a warning of a "blocked" or "outdated" plug-in, then from the menu bar select
     ▹ System Preferences… ▹ Flash Player ▹ Advanced
and click Check Now. Quit and relaunch the browser.
If the warning persists, triple-click anywhere in the line below on this page to select it:
    /System/Library/CoreServices/CoreTypes.bundle/Contents/Resources
Right-click or control-click the highlighted text and select
    Services ▹ Open
from the contextual menu.* A folder should open. Inside it, there should be a file named "XProtect.meta.plist". If that file is missing and you know why it's missing, restore it from a backup or copy it from another Mac running the same version of OS X. Otherwise, reinstall OS X.
*If you don't see the contextual menu item, copy the selected text to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination command-C. In the Finder, select
    Go ▹ Go to Folder...
from the menu bar and paste into the box that opens by pressing command-V. You won't see what you pasted because a line break is included. Press return.
    Step 5
In the Safari preferences window, select the Advanced tab and uncheck the box marked
    Stop plug-ins to save power
    Step 6
Open this folder as in Step 4:
    /Library/Internet Plug-Ins
Delete the following item, or anything with a similar name, if present:
    Flash Player (failing).plugin
You may be prompted for your login password.
    Step 7
Re-download and reinstall Flash. Download it from the domain "get.adobe.com". Don't click a link from any other website, including this one, because you can't trust links. They may be an attempt to trick you into installing malware masquerading as Flash. Type the address into the browser window. Never download a Flash update from anywhere else.
    Step 8
If you get a "missing plug-in" error, select
    Safari ▹ Preferences... ▹ Security
from the Safari menu bar and check the box marked
    Allow (or Enable) plug-ins
    Then click the button marked
    Manage Website Settings...
if present and make sure that the website is not blocked for Flash.
    Step 9
    Select
    Safari ▹ Preferences... ▹ Extensions
from the Safari menu bar. If any extensions are installed, disable them.
