Safari force reloads tabs, works slow, half opens webpages, unclickable links

I am running Safari Version 6.0.5 (8536.30.1) on OSX 10.8.5. Then out of a blue pages in Safari started loading eternally slow. Either the blue line over the webpage address would start running and freeze with a simple site site loading minutes, or a site would load actually more or less ok but after scrolling down:
- many links would become unclickable as if there were any
- the webpage would load, but after scrolling back and forth part of it would turn white and not scroll down any more, although it did show the whole page just moment ago
- part of the page loads and other part is displaid as white space.
Resetting Safari, clearing Web site data and cookies, CleanMyMac-ing, all these to no avail. At some point playing around and trying to load different web sites in Safari I got the following message:
Webpages are not responding. To visit the selected webpage, all webpages in other tabs and windows must be force reloaded. Do you want to visit this page? Force reloading might lose information you've entered.
with CANCEL or VISIT PAGE to react. Clicking on either did not resolve the problem.
I have neither installed any software nor Safari extensions. Except maybe the most recent OSX update yesterday which was necessary for iTunes getting iRadio. Google, Opera, Firefox are all running perfectly just like Safari has been doing until today.
Any idea what is wrong?

Please read this whole message before doing anything.
This procedure is a test, not a solution. Don’t be disappointed when you find that nothing has changed after you complete it.
Step 1
The purpose of this step is to determine whether the problem is localized to your user account.
Enable guest logins* and log in as Guest. Don't use the Safari-only “Guest User” login created by “Find My Mac.”
While logged in as Guest, you won’t have access to any of your personal files or settings. Applications will behave as if you were running them for the first time. Don’t be alarmed by this; it’s normal. If you need any passwords or other personal data in order to complete the test, memorize, print, or write them down before you begin.
Test while logged in as Guest. Same problem?
After testing, log out of the guest account and, in your own account, disable it if you wish. Any files you created in the guest account will be deleted automatically when you log out of it.
*Note: If you’ve activated “Find My Mac” or FileVault, then you can’t enable the Guest account. The “Guest User” login created by “Find My Mac” is not the same. Create a new account in which to test, and delete it, including its home folder, after testing.
Step 2
The purpose of this step is to determine whether the problem is caused by third-party system modifications that load automatically at startup or login, by a peripheral device, or by corruption of certain system caches.
Disconnect all wired peripherals except those needed for the test, and remove all aftermarket expansion cards. Boot in safe mode and log in to the account with the problem. Note: If FileVault is enabled on some models, or if a firmware password is set, or if the boot volume is a software RAID, you can’t do this. Ask for further instructions.
Safe mode is much slower to boot and run than normal, and some things won’t work at all, including sound output and Wi-Fi on certain iMacs. The next normal boot may also be somewhat slow.
The login screen appears even if you usually log in automatically. You must know your login password in order to log in. If you’ve forgotten the password, you will need to reset it before you begin.
Test while in safe mode. Same problem?
After testing, reboot as usual (i.e., not in safe mode) and verify that you still have the problem. Post the results of steps 1 and 2.

Try troubleshooting Safari extensions and third party plugins.
From the Safari menu bar click Safari > Preferences then select the Extensions tab. Turn that OFF, quit and relaunch Safari to test. If that helped, turn one extension on then quit and relaunch Safari to test until you find the incompatible extension then click uninstall.
If it's not an extensions issue, try troubleshooting third party plug-ins.
Back to Safari > Preferences. This time select the Security tab. Deselect: Allow all other plug-ins. Quit and relaunch Safari to test.
If that made a difference, instructions for troubleshooting plugins here.

Firefox sent an email to me to confirm that I had asked the above question. The email had a link to click. When I clicked it from Firefox, nothing happened. Then I opened IE, signed into Comcast, opened the email, clicked the link, and it brought me here.

• Safari force reload/visit page

I like the force reload all tabs/visit page,it allows me to keep all my windows and tabs open without consuming ram or processing, how do I manually activate this?

It's not a specific thing, just that when you upgrade to a whole new operating system there are always tweaks and issues that arise, usually as many problems as there are improvements, at least until you get all the kinks worked out.
Also, if you read all the posts of those who upgraded, they've reported certain things that don't work anymore, or at least not the same. To be honest, I haven't read anything that sounds good enough to upgrade, but I have read a lot of things that don't appeal to me. There are many examples, from the User Library being hidden to not being able to use AppleWorks (yes it's old, but I still love it and it runs solidly) or anything running Rosetta again, etc. I learned long ago when you reach a stable place that offers all you need stay with it as long as everything works and there's nothing vital you need in the upgrade (in other words, "if it ain't broke, don't fix it"). This is more true now than ten years ago, when they were still making considerable and necessary improvements to OS X. When everything you use and depend on works perfectly and you upgrade and pay more money just because you feel you need "the latest and greatest" you're often asking for trouble. I rely on my computer for too many things personal and business-related to spend several weeks trying to figure out why this or that doesn't work nor or to have a certain app no longer usable. Just my 2¢.

• Why Safari force me to see the previously opened sites?

It's happen many times I open Safari in OS X Lion, he force me to see the previously opened sites, sometimes even open 3 or 4 pages.
That's really annoying cause when I quit Safari, the most of times I already found what I was looking for so why have to visit that pages again?
Have no sense and really annoying!
Disappointed!

Go to System Preferences > General and uncheck the item "Restore windows when quitting and re-opening apps"; it's located at the bottom of the "Number of recent items" section.

• Safari 3.1.2 verrrry slow to open

Any ideas why Safari is very, i do mean very slow to open on Windows XP? I have a very fast laptop with 4GB RAM. There really shouldn't be a problem

Safari is not your normal browser. It requires much, much more RAM than any of the other browsers.
So it's like starting a video game for the first time. It takes awhile to load, but if you close it and restart it again, it should open faster the 2nd time around, since the RAM it cleared the first time is still available.
What other applications are you running? The only annoying thing I have found about Safari is that the WinAmp scrolling text shows thru Safari sometimes. But that's because of the way WinAmp programmed their scrolling text...

• Safari Slow to Open Webpages

For some reason Safari has started to become really slow at opening web pages. I have a PC connected via Ethernet to a broadband router/hub (via ethernet over mains) and the Mac is connected via ethernet straight into the same broadand router /hub.
If I type a URL into the PC and hit return it loads MUCH quicker than if I type the same URL into Safari on my iMAC.
I have downloaded all of the updates, cleared out history and cache (for both PC and MAc to make sure they are the same) and I have uninstalled Little Snitch just in case.
Is there anything else I can try - I am new to Mac's and so finding may round some of the settings will need some newbie explanations please!
Thanks

I have uninstalled Little Snitch just in case.
Don't uninstall LittleSnitch; it has nothing to do with this at all. Try these steps, instead:
1. Go to Home/Library/Cookies and delete the Cookies.plist file.
2. Go to Home/Library/Caches/com.apple.Safari and delete the contents of that folder.
3. Go to Home/Library/Caches/com.apple.Safari/Web Page Previews and delete the contents of that folder.
4. If you don't want to use the Top Sites or Cover Flow features, open Terminal and paste in this command:
defaults write com.apple.Safari DebugSnapshotsUpdatePolicy -int 2
then press Enter or Return and quit Terminal
5. Go to Home/Library/Caches/Metadata/Safari and delete the contents of that folder.
6. Go to Home/Library/Caches/Safari and delete the contents of that folder.
7. Go to Home/Library/Safari and delete these files (if you have them):
Downloads.plist
History.plist
Form Values
LastSession.plist
WebpageIcons.db
Then Repair Permissions, restart Safari and see if the speed is improved.

• Firefox 7 is very slow in opening webpages as compared o firefox6

As compared to firefox6, this version, ff ver # 7.0.1 is very slow in opening the webpages. It takes a long time to show the webpage. I have tried to disable add ons and did everything i could, but there seems to be a no solution.

The default of the pref network.http.max-connections has been increased from 30 to 256 in Firefox 6+ versions.
Try to decrease the value of the pref network.http.max-connections from 256 to 30 as used in Firefox 3 versions.

• Safari browser reloads every time on visiting any webpage

It has been encountered that the safari browser ver 5.7.1 reloads/refreshes every time on visiting any webpage. Tried a fresh install either but the issue is persistent.

Greetings,
Your problem is probably one or more items that are incompatible with Safari 4.0.3 and Snow Leopard:
QGetIMBundle, located at: /Library/InputManagers/QGetIMBundle
1Password, located at: /Library/InputManagers/1PasswdIM (this is clearly incompatible)
You should update 1Password to a current version that is compatible with Safari 4.0.3 and Snow Leopard, and
remove the other item for now (don't delete it). Then restart Safari and test it to see if the crashing continues.

• Firefox wont open webpage when linked from another program

When linking from other programs, a new firefox window will open, but displaying a blank page instead of loading the page. I checked for firefox being the default web browser, but I cant figure out what other options may be important. It actually started happening when upgrading to Ubuntu Natty, did not happen when using ff 4.0.1 on maverick. Any Ideas? Thanks for the help.

First and foremost, please update Firefox to '''3.6.17''' by clicking '''Help'''| '''Check For Updates'''.
The reason for this is because there was a security breach at Comodo which is an SSL certificate provider recently whereby a number of fraudulent certificates were inadvertently issued. These allow a hacker to impersonate any site including online banking and the Firefox version you're running at the moment will not warn you that the site is a fake. The fraudulent certificates were blacklisted in v3.6.17 and beyond.

• I "upgraded" to FF4, now it doesnt work properly, wont open pages, will open blank tabs when i click on a link, tried to go back to the older one but that doesnt work now either, have tested it with Safari and it opens everything fine. Any ideas?

After upgrading to firefox 4 im now having a lot of problems using the browser.
if i try an open a link in a new tab it will just open up a blank tab, if i click on links or even type in the google search bar at the top it doesnt do anything, it just says "done" and the circle thing stops as if im on the page already, have tested it with Safari doing the same things and Safari works fine. I'd swap but all my bookmarks and passwords are in Firefox so id rather stay with that.
I tried going back to the older version of firefox (3.5 or something) but seems the bugs are here to stay now.......so.......any ideas? because its really annoying, shouldn't have "upgraded".
Is there a new patch coming out anytime soon or should i start getting used to Safari?
Thanks for your help.

I would copy over the entire thing if you have room. With iTunes 10.4 though, you can download any previous iTunes purchases you have made in the past with your current iTunes account. While in iTunes, look at the left hand side of your screen and select "Purchases" and look at the bottom right corner of the screen and select "Download Previous Purchases". If you have an iPhone, iPod and/or iPad...you can do the same thing from each device. Nice new feature...just remember that those ripped CDs need a back-up!!! Enjoy...

Can you check system update? I think I did a system Update 1st, a day before installing OSX Lion and there is a Safari update. If not try logging in iCloud.

Nope. You can always reverse that if you choose.
