Safari isn't working on a lot of websites, is it out of date?

Certain websites I visit won't work properly using Safari, some video on Yahoo won't work either have to use Mozilla, but don't like Mozilla, and i'm getting a message on some sites telling me my browser is out of date. When I check software updates it says I'm up to date so what gives?

Back up your data and check your applications for compatibility before upgrading. In particular, Mac OS X 10.7 and newer don't support PowerPC programs such as versions of Microsoft Office prior to 2008.

Safari isn't working properly, says it cannot find the Internet plug-in

After I installed Mozilla Firefox, Safari is not working properly. It says:
Safari cannot find the Internet plug-in
The page “Now Casting - The Best in Guides & Labels” has content of MIME type “application/x-shockwave-flash”. Because you don’t have a plug-in installed for this MIME type, this content can’t be displayed.
I tried to install the flasf player and a web page appears saying that it is installed but obviously isn't.
Please tell me what is wrong so I can use my Safari.

My safari isn't working

I've tried everything i possibly could to try to get my safari to work. It doesn't work at all. I've tried going in the setting it just gets stuck there and when I click on the safari icon nothing works, I can't click anywhere or get anything to load.

Try performing a reset on your device. Follow the steps outlined in Turn your iOS device on and off (restart) and reset.

I've searched the forums for days and there seems to be no solution to my problem. The Fast Browser Search plug-in won't load on Safari and it causes the program to stop responding. I couldn't find where the plug-in was on my computer in order to delete it and fix the problem so I ended up deleting all my plug-ins. Safari seemed to work fine for a couple of hours until I tried to watch some videos and they wouldn't load. I attempted to reinstall the flash plug-ins, but the download would just go on for hours without success saying 'preparing disk image'. Now the Fast Browser Search still won't load and is crashing safari and I can't do anything on the program except get on these forums. I've even tried to load firefox several times but it just says 'preparing disk image' for hours and never finished downloading. Please help.

Hi Victoria,
The Fast Browser plugin is not compatible with newer versions of Safari. You need to delete it.
Follow the paths here to locate the plugin.

The ~ (Tilde) character represents your Home folder.
If you can't find it, since Safari is crashing, post a crash report.
How to locate a crash log:
If Safari has just crashed, press the Report button on the CrashReporter dialog box to view the crash information.
Now *copy/paste the entire contents* of the Crash Reporter window into your reply here. If the crash report dialog does not appear or the crash is hard to reproduce, crash logs can be retrieved from the ~/Library/Logs/CrashReporter> folder.

Several pages of CC aren't working and all my apps including CC is out of date! Please help!

I have tried many solutions including chatting with a Adobe Support person and he couldn't fix it. Ive uninstalled everything using the cleaner several times and oh so much more. When i open Creative Cloud, the home page will not come up including the fonts page and behance and the apps page doens't have all the apps its supposed to have plus! their all out of date! i keeping getting the old verions. cs6. i have no option for CC. and even when i install them half of them don't work. the ones i wanted the most. since day one of purchasing creatice cloud ive been having errors and just a little bit ago the techinal support dude told me to click this link and go from there. the link was NO help at all!!!

Connected to internet, but safari isn't working

My Ipod touch 4th gen. is not allowing me to browse in Safari even though it displays that I am connected to a network. We have recently added a password to our wireless internet. This, however, has not blocked my access to the internet on my ipod until today. I am able to connect to our network and it displays that, but it wont connect, if that makes sense. I have reset my network settings and tried it again, but still did not work. I do have the most recent software on my ipod, and itunes on my computer.

Try turning your router off and then back on.
See if your iPod will now connect to the internet using Safari.
If that doesn't work then on the iPod go to:
Settings>General>Reset>Reset Network Settings
Let us know if the above works.

Yesterday I bought a second-hand iMac g4. I'm not too familiar with iMacs or computers in general, so my understanding is pretty basic. I brought it home, plugged
It in, and connected it to my wireless. It recognizes the wireless and connects to it, but when I open safari it says that it can't load the page because there is no Internet connection. It does sometimes work in different areas of my house (the kitchen, living room) but only for ten minutes at the max. The imac I have has 1.25GHz and I am assuming has an airport card because the Internet worked on it when I tested it out before I bought it. My wireless is on WPA/WPA2. How do I get the Internet to start working?

The machine is booting up so I wouldn't worry about the PRAM battery. I set my time off of the internet, since my pram battery is dead & I do not feel like changing it. click on time to get this panel.
The imac I have has 1.25GHz and I am assuming has an airport card because the Internet worked on it when I tested it out before I bought it.
To sort things out, I'd connect the machine via an ethernet cable to you router. Thus, if it works well via a cable you will have narrowed the problem down to the wifi card.
My wireless is on WPA/WPA2. How do I get the Internet to start working?
You sure the machine is connecting to your router not a neighbors? Set router to now encryption & see how things work. Just for testing.

Just upgraded my 2010 MacBook Pro to Yosemite. Everything seems to be working except for Safari. It would open fine (just very very very slowly). But when I try to navigate to a web site, any web site, it goes completely unresponsive. I have to force quit it. I deleted my cache. No change. Both of my other web browsers (Chrome and Firefox) work just fine. What's broken and how do I fix it?

Might be a cookies, cache, or extensions, issue.
From your Safari menu bar click Safari > Preferences then select the Privacy tab.
Click: Remove All Website Data
Then delete the cache one more time.
Open a Finder window. From the Finder menu bar click Go > Go to Folder
Type or copy paste the following
~/Library/Caches/com.apple.Safari/Cache.db
Click Go then move the Cache.db file to the Trash.
Quit and relaunch Safari to test.
If that doesn't help, troubleshoot Safari extensions.
From the Safari menu bar click Safari > Preferences then select the Extensions tab. Turn that OFF, quit and relaunch Safari to test.
If that helped, turn one extension on then quit and relaunch Safari to test until you find the incompatible extension then click uninstall.

Safari isn't working continuously after os x Yosemite upgrade

I am having hard time using Safari after upgrading to os x Yosemite. I have MBP retina early 2013 and what the problem seams to be is when I use the app, it works fine for some time and than it freezes and does not respond. At the same time I switch to Chrome and it works fine all the time. After 30 mins or so, if I go back to Safari it works fine again but for some time until it freezes again. All other apps are working just fine only Safari freezes several times a day. Also when I try to watch You Tube it lags every 5 sec. and it is practically impossible to watch. I tried to quit the app and than relaunch but without success. Any suggestions please?

Is there a reason why safari isn't working for windows anymore?? It's saying there's a problem and just wants to close. Help guys!

So i've been using safari for windows for a couple of year with no issues. A couple of days ago i tried to open safari and a pop came up saying that it isnt working properly. I checked for any updates and there wasnt any, i then uninstalled safari and installed it again. The same thing is happening.

Yeaaaaa that's a matter of opinion and I don't share it.
It's margianlly better than firefox and it burns CPU and ram like no tomorrow.

My safari isn't working correctly

I am having problem with safari in my mac, i think ist a trojan. I have already reset safari, i cleared the extensions and i am still having the same problems. The problems that i have are the following:
- my search engine is set up as google, and each time a search, it goes directly to the yahoo search
- when i am using netflix and fast forwoard, a new tab opens with publicity (media-fire.org)
- when i go to google.com, i get strange publicity and ads below the search bar.
