Safari not processing local  PHP

I am editing some php pages and checking them in Safari....4.0.3. On my local machine all I get is code. The page doesn't draw. If I log onto the site the page loads and draws fine. Why won't it work locally?

This procedure is a diagnostic test. It’s unlikely to solve your problem. Don’t be disappointed when you find that nothing has changed after you complete it.
The purpose of the test is to determine whether the problem is caused by third-party software that loads automatically at startup or login, by a peripheral device, by a font conflict, or by corruption of the file system or of certain system caches.
Disconnect all wired peripherals except those needed for the test, and remove all aftermarket expansion cards, if applicable. Start up in safe mode and log in to the account with the problem. You must hold down the shift key twice: once when you turn on the computer, and again when you log in.
Note: If FileVault is enabled in OS X 10.9 or earlier, or if a firmware password is set, or if the startup volume is a software RAID, you can’t do this. Ask for further instructions.
Safe mode is much slower to start up and run than normal, with limited graphics performance, and some things won’t work at all, including sound output and Wi-Fi on certain models. The next normal startup may also be somewhat slow.
The login screen appears even if you usually login automatically. You must know your login password in order to log in. If you’ve forgotten the password, you will need to reset it before you begin.
Test while in safe mode. Same problem?
After testing, restart as usual (not in safe mode) and verify that you still have the problem. Post the results of the test.

  • Safari not processing iTunes links

Not only iTunes but all links from mail pulling up respective pages always pulls up blank page in Safari with folders of past pages history.  When I make Chrome the default browser, it opens then opens iTunes to the appropriate link -- in this case a book.  What's wrong with Safari?

  • Safari not playing  local flash movie

    Hello All,
Below is a piece of html code I am using to view an embeded flash movie. As you can see the file is located on my hard drive - this (the .swf file on the hard drive) is being used to simulate content that will eventually be placed on a CD. Also the code is an html page that is part of a Java program that uses "continue"servlets to advance to other pages.
I know the Flash plugin (8) works because I can view flash files from other sites and I can also view my file by navigating to it through Safari using file open.
The Problem is when I try get the flash movie to play by advancing from one web page to the one below that has the file embeded - Nothing happens.
Any Help is very appreciated. Thank you

Strange things tend to happen in Cyber world. I've seen, albeit infrequently, where my Safari Preferences were reset to default values while surfing. Haven't figured out why that happens, but I have my suspicions. Yet, because it's a rare event, it's not in the top 5 of things to do.

  • Render local PHP files... any fix yet?

So, I read numerous posts on this topic - but they all have been "archived" and cannot be replied to?? I think it is still very important and wonder, does that mean it is dealt with or still a know, ongoing issue I just missed the answer to??
This thread most similarly matches my issue and themost detailed: http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?messageID=978104
I use Dreamweaver 8 and Safari 2.0.1 on a 10.4.2 System. As others have noted, when I go to drop a PHP file onto Safari, it just renders the source code. But, if I drop it on IE or Opera or FF it renders as expected.
Yes, I have turned on Web Sharing in the System Preferences. Yes, I have turned on PHP (using this simple article http://www.phpmac.com/articles.php?view=225) and verified it by puttng a php file into my "Sites" folder and it renders fine in Safari that way. But, neither have been a solution. Nor is using other lesser supported browsers and what-not as I need to develope for Safari and have 30 or so sites I manage with a local system already in place that worked just fine in 10.3 and Safari from 10.3 - so moving all my stuff to my "Sites" is a no go. And, I believe I read it still is an issue in 10.4.7 - so updating the system is not the answer either.
It is very bothersome to not be able to view my PHP files locally on Safari and have to have to put them on the server to view/test them as that was not the case under Safari under 10.3. The only other way to view them in Safari I have found is by using the Preview feature in Dreamweaver 8 (which no one else mentioned in other threads), BUT if there is a text link (like a 'click here' navigation link) in the page to another PHP file and you click said link, you jut get the source code for that next page as if you dropped the file on Safari. That is weird in itself that through Dreamweaver 8 it makes a Temp file of the PHP file and loads that in Safari just fine!!!! but to actually drop or load the actual PHP file (not the created Temp file).... nothing but source code.
So, any status on this? Still a lingering issue? I wondered if the stop in posting to the topic means people just accepted the bug (I find that hard to believe), or it was fixed (by a hack or by Apple) and I missed it someplace? It does not seem to be a PHP issue (as some reports said initially) as othr browsers on the same system can render the files when dropped on them, but an actual issue with how Safari deals with PHP files now - when it handeled them just fine in 10.3.

Please read the link to the previous closed thread in my first post as it explains it pretty clearly. It is all about a file with extension .php versus .html.
but I will recap again here:
I am very clear that Safari cannot run server side script locally. That is not the issue as that is a given.
"What I am expecting Safari to do" - and what all developers are expecting Safari to do when it encounters a local PHP file (a file with extension .php versus .html) is to render the HTML and display the page - not the source code. who wants to see the source code when trying to preview the layout and look and feel of a page.
again, in old 10.3 if you dropped a PHP file (file with .php extension) onto Safari, the file would display the HTML portion just fine and show the resulting webpage - and not process the PHP within the code naturally as it cannot being local and not off a server - but now in 10.4 if you drop a PHP file (file with .php extension) onto Safari it just shows you the source code. IF you chnage that exact files extension to .html it renders fine, chnage it back to .php and nothing but source code.
this is a know glitch and covered in the first linked thread in depth..... I am more looking at this point to see if anyone is aware of a fix yet??

  • Safari doesn't display php page, Firefox does

Is there a known issue with Safari not displaying certain php content? My college uses a php database to show schedules and grades. Safari doesn't display anything other than the URL in the page window when the page loads. Firefox displays the content and allows all form completion functionality.
The school's product is Jenzabar's Poise (PX) Aacademic database.
It has been this way for the last few updates - I keep hoping that a Safari update will repair the issue but alas, that doesn't seem to happen.
I'd prefer Safari because compared to it Firefox is dog slow.

Please contact or have your IT dept contact Tom at ESP to provide more information related to your problem. ESP provides support for the Jenzabar PX product in Texas. Thanks - Tom

  • Proxy messages not processed in PI 7.1 pipeline coming from local client

    Dear experts,
We have recently installed a PI7.1 system with two clients:
    200 - Integration Server
    250 - Local Integration Engine
Now, when we send proxy messages from the 250 client to the 200 client,
the messages are not processed in the integration server. The message
does arrive as we can see in SXMB_MONI, but there is no receiver determination
or what-so-ever executed. In SXMB_MONI we can see that only the SENDER
    pipeline is executed.
Proxy messages from 6.20 and 7.0 systems to IS are properly processed.
Ofcourse the 250 client is defined as an application system in the integation engine
    configuration (SXMB_ADM).
    regards,
    Jeroen

In SXMB_MONI we can see that only the SENDER pipeline is executed.
Yes. Even if no receivers are configured the data from sender to XI should be visible in sxmb_moni.
Check smq1 at XI. There could be some problem with the technical system for client 250.
    Regards,
    Prateek

  • Lync 2013 client not processing history spooler folder (conversation history)

We have been using Lync 2013 fully patched up to latest & greatest, along with Exchange 2013 for about 6 months now & everything is working
great. (I did a AD migration from our old parent company in the UK as well as migrated exchange from 2010 to 2013, all that without a hitch for the most part.)
the issue that seems to be popping up intermittently is conversation history. I manged to work around some of them for the most part & getting
them to process; with the exception of 1 user.
If he logs into another PC his conversation history works fine.
However on his PC it does not seem to want to process the history spooler folder in "C:\Users\User\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Office\15.0\Lync\[email protected]m",
there are 737 files in there (all of his convo history)
Now what i did & it seems to sort of work is,Signed out of Lync, I deleted the users Sip folder after backing up the history spooler folder, logged
back into Lync which recreated the sip_user folder; logged back out of Lync , copied the History Spooler folder back to the SIP folder, & signed into Lync.
This took 10 files out of the history spooler folder, & then appeared in the convo history; both on Lync client & Outlook; but did not bring
all of them in. I did some testing and if you log out, then back in, it processes a few more. but not all.
EWS & MAPI settings & all other Lync configuration information settings match a users with no convo history issues.
    So now the questions.
1)What could possibly cause what ever mechanism that processes the History spooler folder to stop/only process a few items during sign in? Also what
    is the mechanism?
2)Is there any way through powershell to force the synchronization of the history spooler folder?
    Thank you

so in some more testing i had check the history spooler folder, & there were about 700+ files.
as a note* (Upon deleting the users sip folder & logging back in thus re-creating the folder new convo's where saving. So i did "fix" the issue with no new convo's during my initial work prior to opening this thread.)
I then removed a good chunk of the *.hist files & only left convo's from this month. signed out then back in, 10 files processed. then did it again, another 10. did it again, & it did 4 then stopped. I noticed there were some files over 1 mb. &
remember coming across this post (Lync
not processing files over 1mb) so i removed the 1mb files & then logged out then back in. processed 10 more.
i then added all the files to the history spooler file with the exception of the files over 1 mb, & logged in & out about 70 times to process the whole folder. Now all of the convos are in Lync & outlook as well as new convo's being saved. However
i have a folder now with 130 files that are over 1mb that will not process at all..
so now i am trying to find some validity on the statement in the link above
"We did open a case with Microsoft and they confirmed it is a bug in the Exchange EWS HTTP stack. It
is supposedly under review by the Dev team, but my guess is that it won't be fix soon. The magic size is exactly 1MB or 1048576 bytes."
If that is actually true it sucks & is some B.S as it is nearly 2 months later & this is obviously
a major problem & not even a CU or PU has been released to address the issue.

  • Could not process file 'Input 110110b.txt': com.sap.aii.adapter.file.

I have a FILE Adapter using FTP as a transport that is generating a very odd error.
The FTP sender channel is giving the following error is set up to retreive all files (*) from a specific directory.  If you look at the error, it indicates an error processing the file 'Input 110110b.txt' as a file -- the only way this filename woudl be visible is if the adapater interrogated the directory, or the filename was hard-coded in the file mask.  But the error indicates it can't change to the directory.  The only way it would have come up with the file is if it had already CD'd t that directory.
1/7/11 8:12:01 AM   Retry interval started. Length: 60.0 seconds
1/7/11 8:12:01 AM   Could not process file 'Input 110110b.txt': com.sap.aii.adapter.file.ftp.FTPEx: 550 Failed to change directory.
    1/7/11 8:12:00 AM   Processing started
My first thought was a simple permission issue, so I opened a connection to server with FileZilla (an FTP client) and was able to retrieve the file without a problem.  I was also able to drop a file in the directory.  There is no permissions problem.

    Hi
Please check the below points before processing any file
    a) check the File placing by a Local Plant FTP owner is using the same authentification credentials It means both PI and source team needs to use same FTP User ID and login credentials otherwise if suppose if source team is placing with one User and PI cannot able to pick that file as this User cannot have permissions in this case also u will get 550 error
    b) I know what ur telling is u manualy palced one file and able retrive...but do one thing u can login with same PI FTP login server credentials and then place the file with different name also I suggest lets test the channel by simply keeping
. not simply * if you keep simply * then u cna use in receiver chanel while using dynamic connfiguration.
Else give *.txt and then activate the channel and also please check the CACHE as well

  • Firefox 3.6.8 won't open local php files. It opens the save as text dialog box instead.

When I try to open a local php file on my MAC hard drive with FF 3.6.8, the save file dialog box opens instead. It says: You have chosen to open index.php which is a TextEdit.app Document. I do not have this problem with Firefox 3.5.11.
    I have tried:
opening the file directly from Firefox as well as
double clicking the file (which is the most common way).
I have also tried changing the file "open with" preference to "open with Firefox." That did not work either.
Any help on this would be appreciated.
    I'm on a MAC OS 10.5.8
    Thnx, Nick

    You have to delete mimeTypes.rdf.
You can find it here (Windows XP): C:\Documents and Settings\Username\Aplication Data\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\xxxxxxxx.default.

  • Safari not responding when HTTPS connections are unavailable

I'm using a 13" MBP with 10.7.2 installed, which is setup to sync calendar, address and bookmarks with iCloud. Since last week I've constantly encounter a problem that my Safari 5.1.1 would keep crashing, and I had to delete the ~/Library/Safari/extensions folder to get it back to work.
This situation happened whenever I've switch to wireless connection. In my office we've setup a limited wireless environment that all HTTP/HTTPS connections will be redirected through a proxy. Since last week the proxy server was malfunctioned. All HTTP connections are proceeded normally, but all HTTPS connections will be suspended. I'm not sure but I suspect it's the main reason for the crashing problem.
    The syndromes are:
    1. When I left Safari open, unplug the ethernet, and turn-on WiFi, everythings goes on normally, until I open an HTTPS web page, for example, https://www.icloud.com. Of course that HTTPS URL will not load, since our proxy is broken; but the connection itself will NOT timeout. I've tried to leave it connecting for 10 minuntes, and it's still there.
    2. The statement above may due to a glitch in our proxy server and I can understand that. But the problem is: after I tried to open an HTTPS connection, the Safari will refuse to open any other URLs, including normal HTTP connections. It will just keep "connecting". Meanwhile the FireFox and Chrome can load these HTTP pages normally.
    3. If I quit Safari in this situation, Safari will not be able to re-launce: the icon will keep bumping on the dock. I have to force quit Safari and delete extensions folder, so that it can be launched again. But even after Safari re-launced, it still refused to load HTTP pages.
    4. Neither reconnecting WiFi, relogin, or switching back to ethernet can fix the problem. I have to restart the whole system to get it back to normal.
It seemed to me that some Safari-related process will keep in the system after Safari is quited. And that process may keep the inactivated HTTPS connections alive in its TCP pool, and blocked all sequence connections, including the iCloud synchronization. And while I force-quit Safari, the extensions.plist file is damaged. That's the only plausible explanation to this situation.
I'm sure this situation is introduced after 10.7.2: it's not the first time our proxy server breakdown, but I've never have this problem before.

I've done some detailed test and now I can give a conclusion:
    1. It's confirmed that sequence HTTPS connection will be blocked in Safari and Google Chrome after a failure HTTPS connection (due to proxy). And rebooting is the only way to recover connections.
    2. My previous observation is wrong: this is NOT a system wide problem. FireFox is not affected. FireFox will return to normal and all sequence HTTPS connection can be proceeded without any problem when I reconnect to a valid network connection (i.e. ethernet), while the Safari and Google Chrome remained being blocked. And DropBox is NOT affected as well.
    3. None of the solutions mentioned in other threads can solve this problem. Checking the "Auto proxy discovery" does not help. Delete ~/Library/Preferences/com.apple.security.revocation.plistfile does not help. Clean Keychain does not help either. I've created another account for testing.
    4. It's apparently something related to some system built-in network services. Since the FireFox and DropBox both gets its' own Proxy implementation, while Safari and Google Chrome will take the system settings. It's also worth noting that the POP3-SSL connection in Mail.app is also blocked after a failure HTTPS connection.
Currently the ONLY valid solution is using FireFox instead.

  • Safari web process - memory leak?

Mac Pro seemed to have slowed to a crawl.
    Safari 5.1.2 on SL 10.6.8
Activity Monitor showed I was low on memory - over 7GB was being used by 'safari web process' - slowly close all open pages until only left with two - one was simply the 'bing' home page, the other a page that had failed to load.
Anyone else had this kind of thing recently?

Safari has a known memory leak. Open teh Activity Monitor, sort the list of apps by Real Memory column. You will find one called Safari Web Content. This is the cause. If you are running an safari extensions, they use SWafari Web Content to run, you can try turning off your extensions to see if that helps. About the only know fix now, is to close safari regularly. 5.1.2 was suppose to close some leaks but has not. There are reports you can run safari in 32bit mode but I haven't confirmed if this helps or not.

  • How to see all songs NOT stored locally on device?

    Hello,
I am looking for a way to view songs that need to be downloaded on my iPod Touch FROM the device. The only way I see is to scroll through my songs (in the thousands) to look for songs with the cloud icon and tap it to start downloading.
Is there a way to create a smart playlist that shows only the songs that are not stored locally on the device? Or something similar?
As I am updating my library on the desktop (updating / deleting / adding / ripping / etc) I would like to have the updates loaded to the device as i am going through the long updating process (lots of CDs to go through).
any insight would be greatly appreciated.

[Suggestion only, I haven't done this myself.]
Create a Smart Playlist, and sync it to your iPod Touch so you can use it there. Make the rule "iCloud Status" "is not" "Local Only."
p.s.: you do know that you don't HAVE to store all of your songs on your iPod Touch, right? I'd never be able to get all of my songs on my 16 Gb iPhone. In fact, I frequently remove all locally stored music from it, and just stream from the cloud... And metadata updates appear to occur automatically, when you're using wi-fi.
