Safari rendering default text with condensed font?

Has anyone else experienced this in the last few days?
All of a sudden Safari is rendering default text with a different font, a light, condensed one.
The side-by-side shows the Wordpress Admin menu on my Macbook & on my iMac.
The Macbook is still rendering as always, the iMac now has this new font.
Aside from within the Wordpress Admin area, I'm seeing the same thing in various other places you'd expect to see a default font, for default text.
It's not the end of the world but considering I haven't done anything to cause the change I'm concerned it's something malicious causing it,
any insights anyone?
Thanks in advance.

Installled any third party fonts lately?

how to edit a text with same font in a image in photoshop 7

    Good day!
The question seems to provide insufficient information for a relevant answer.
    Do you have the font?
Is the text a (Type) Layer of its own or part of the image?
Could you please post a screenshot with the Layers Panel visible?

  • Texts with correct font are not printed

    Hi All,
I am printing the Adobe form with some header and item texts.
I have created a style in smartforms so that the texts in the layout would be printed accordingly.
In the context part, I have created the text and assigned the text module. I have also given the style name at the time of creation, checked 'Copy style from text module' also. But still in the layout the texts are not printing with correct font.
Currently the texts are prining with default font which i have declared in style.
Do we need to give the paragraph format or style name anywhere?
    Thanks and Regards,
    Karthik Ganti.

    Hello Karthik,
If font is uniform throughout the text, then no need to create the Smartstyle. You can do this with JavaScript.
    1. Click on the text field.
    2. Write the below JavaScript in the Initialize event.
    this.font.typeface = "Arial";
This will override the default font which you had selected at the design time.
If you want to change the weight, you can also do that as shown below.
    this.font.weight = "bold";
Here I have hard coded the font name and weight. If you want to do this dynamically, you can store the font name in a custom table and then assign it in the layout.

  • Correct dimensions for a text with embedded font

Can someone please tell me how can I find the  width, height and lineHeight for a text  that is inside a RichEditableText component if I'm useing  embedded fonts as cff?
I have a font that has  big loops on letters like f,j,g.  I
tried to get the infos from the richEditableText and richEditableText.textFlow. I even tried to compute the height of the text line by line with textFlow.flowComposer.getLineAt(i).height. But none of this got me a value big enought to cover the loops too.

Might be an issue with the font.  Try checking each of the children in the RichEditableText.  Some of them should be TextLines.  See what they report.

  • Safari Rendering Site Text Poorly

Hello- Thanks in advance for your thoughts.
I've created a site (in RapidWeaver) and lately, Safari is rending the text pretty poorly. I don't know if its the font I'm using or if its Safari. Looks nicer in Windows 7 and Firefox (can't believe I'm saying that).
Any thoughts? Is it OS X, Safari or Fonts I'm using?
    Thanks for the help.
    http://www.simdevgroup.com

    Mr. Bill--
If the site in question is on the link you gave, it read fine on my MacBook. It might be Safari, but having had some website building experience (and enough HTML to be considered dangerous), my guess is that it's your font. Keeping in mind that Arial, Time New Roman, and (for some bizarre reason) Courier are considered "standard" and renderable on all computers--and anything else may/may not be iffy--is why I'm thinking font.
OSX shouldn't be your culprit; the OS should have no bearing on what something looks like per se. It --might--be Safari...but like I said: the site in question is on the link you gave, it looked okay to me.
    Hope this helps--

  • Measuring of Text with Multiple Fonts in One Single Line

I am following a request to write C++ code for a label that contains several text elements in one single line, varying by font, size, color.... Ok, that can be done easily in GDI+ by measuring each element's width and then execute a DrawString
for each of the text elements starting at its calculated position.
    So far, I failed miserably.
The horizontal text positions did not appear to be correct. I reverted now to very simple text width measuring tests where the results are still puzzling.
Test 1 (GDI+): Use of MeasureString
With the same font, the width of the string "MM" does not match the double with of the string "M". This cannot be explained with eventual rounding problems.
Test 2 (GDI+): Use of MeasureCharacterRanges
Used the same font as for the first test. The width of "MM" is now exactly double of the width of "M". But: The width of the "M" ist lightyears away from the measurement result in the first test.
Test 3 (GDI): Use of GetCharABCWidthsFloat
Attempted to create a GDI font as close as possible to the GDI+ font in the previous tests. Unfortunately, this third test shows results which do not match the previous results at all.
I am appending the full example here; the results I found during the debug session have been added as comments:
    void ApplWindow_TextDrawTest(HDC hDC)
    Gdiplus::Graphics *G = new Gdiplus::Graphics(hDC);
    G->SetTextRenderingHint(TextRenderingHint::TextRenderingHintClearTypeGridFit);

  • Curved text with CFImage

    Hello,
Does anyone know if you can do curved text in CFImage? I know
there's ImageDrawText, but I'm not sure if it can do curves.
    Thanks,
    Peter

Here's what I came up with but the text appears jagged with
smaller fonts. I think it's because the arc falls in between two
coordinates sometimes, making it impossible to land on the correct
pixel each time. Or maybe there's another reason? Thanks to
cfsearching who came up with the font measurement technique. I
might end up going with some third party tool.

  • How to get LiveCycle Designer forms to ignore default text in fields when validating

    Hiya,
I'm testing out Designer ES4 to build a simple form that's submitted via email.
Everything is working except for my text boxes...  They are set up as required fields but because I've included default text with instructions, if you press submit without editing the fields they're not validating as empty and not throwing an error message.
I’ve been searching the forums all day for a fix, but I’m too new to understand where to put code etc.  I’ve tried adding
'text{!=placeholder}' in the validation pattern box but that doesn’t work…
All I have is LiveCycle Designer and I’m on windows 7.  Thanks for your help!

Thanks Bruce - this looks like exactly what I'm after!
I have a really noob question though - where do I go to enter code?!  Below is a screenshot of what I'm looking at - can you please talk me through how to make your suggested changes?
Do I do it on the 'xml code' tab or somewhere else?

  • Textfield which accepts multilingual characters with embedded fonts

    Hi all,
I have a textfield where I can paste text from different languages with device fonts. Now, I want to input multi-ligual text with embedded fonts.
I have embedded set of fonts, where I can input only english alphabets but not other languages.
Is there a way to input any language characters with embedded fonts?
    Thank you.

    Thanks for your reply.
I have embedded font as follows,
    [Embed(source="myfont.ttf", fontName='myfont', mimeType='application/x-font',embedAsCFF="false")]
With this, I was able to apply this font for english.
    I have tried to paste " मैं कौन हूँ? " on a textfield. But I have not shown मैं कौन हूँ? text.
And setting text programmatically did not work at all as
    textField.text = "मैं कौन हूँ?";
If I do this with device fonts, every thing work fine but not with embedded fonts.
Is there any thing wrong with my code while embedding font?

  • Rendering text with each individual letter outlined

I'm wondering if there's a (simple, inbuilt) way to render
text where each letter is outlined in a differnt colour.
If you don't know what I mean here is some
    Sample
    Text.
The Regular text is the font render in a solid colour. The
funky text is a font rendered in yellow but with a green outline
around it. Is there a way to format text programmatically like that
or will I have to render my alphabet to a bitmap and build up
strings with bitmaps if I want that effect.

You can try adding a glow filter to the textfield, setting the color to black, the Strength to a high percentage (like 1000), quality to Low, and Blur X and Y to suit your desired visual result

There are two articles on MacFixit about this.
    Fonts are implicated in both.

Clearing caches and booting to Safe Mode has helped the majority of people experiencing this problem; however, for a few people the problem returns after a while, indicating that either Safari itself or the system's font configuration may be actively corrupting the font cache.
    .... (example)
    - If this happens, then unfortunately the approach would be to systematically disable system fonts using Font Book until the problem goes away, and then remove the specific fonts that are contributing to the problem.
