Safari stopped connecting on my Iphone 5
Safari won't connect to any sites on mi Iphone 5. It gives me a message thats it is a server problem. Chrome works fine. I'm running IOS 6.1.4 on a Verizon. Any one else having problems , started last night
Are you on wi-fi or cellular? I just tried Safari (I have Verizon, too) and websites are loading OK.

You can try resetting your iPad and iPhone by simultaneously pressing and holding the Home and Sleep/Wake buttons until you see the Apple Logo. This can take up to 15 seconds so be patient and don't release the buttons until the logo appears.

Safari stopped connecting to internet
Have used Safari for years. Stopped connecting to internet. Other browsers connect okay. I tried to get to the Network preference configure pane to change the proxy as I read here, but a dialog box pops up and blocks using the Network window. I click okay on it over and over, but it comes right back. It says"Your network settings have been changed by another application." I installed Safari again, but it didn't fix the problem. Firefox doesn't like my games. I want Safari back!
I'm having the same problem. Started sometime after I upgraded to Tiger (10.4.11). Tried upgrading Safari to 3.1.2 with no improvement. In trying to diagnose the problem, I've seen some weird things. e.g. I can always connect to secure sites (https). Sometimes Safari will work for a while after I've been using Firefox for some time. When I booted up using my old system, Safari worked just fine. But I can connect with Safari on my iBook while it is connected to my desktop (both use Tiger) going through the desktop's modem. I've already tried putting the DNS settings in but it didn't help. Only other thing I can think of that happened is that I stupidly joined Google checkout. Since them I've been inundated with spam and I'm afraid they put something on my computer and now it's messing me up. Am considering doing a complete system reinstall, but don't really want to since I'm not too hopeful that it will work.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. -
My safari stOp play videos on iPhone
I was able to play videos through my safari app on my iPhone 4. Ever since I updated my phone from 4.3.5 to iOS 5 the safari can't pay any videos now. I tried closing resetting the app JavaScript is turned on. I even restarted my phone and the problem is still there, how can I fix this problem?
You also might want to tell us:
1) Which Nokia phone model you are using?
2) Which app (name and version, if known) are you using when accessing YouTube (the default web browser in the phone, some other web browser, a dedicated YouTube app)? If it is "Opera", is it "Opera Mini" or "Opera Mobile" and which version (or at least check whether Opera has any updates available).
3) What kind of network connection you are using (GPRS, EDGE, 3G, WLAN/Wi-Fi)?
4) In which country are you in (in case you're in a country where YouTube access is restricted)?
5) If you use a specific app, does the access work better with some other app (e.g., if you use some web browser, does it also fail if you use another browser)? -
Safari stops connecting to secure sites
My son is using Panther 10.3.9 and in Philadelphia using ComCast cable internet services. Everything was ok about a week ago... and he has done no security updates since. He is now unable to connect to secure websites for banking, etc. using Safari 1.3.2. He was recently able to do this with no problem.
Also, when he try tries to use Mail to get his email, he gets a message that says something like "unable to establish secure connection... this may not be the server you are intending to contact." There was no problem up to a week ago.
He's checked his Keychain passwords, etc. and used AppleJack to clear caches, but nothing's worked.

1.25 GHz iMac Mac OS X (10.3.8)After much searching and reading, I have found an approach that solved this problem and another problem I was having connecting to the iTunes store.
It appears to be a problem for people running Mac OS 10.3.9.
The solution is to:
1. Open Finder
2. Choose your Hard Drive
3. Find the folder called Keychains in the Library folder of your hard drive
4. Drag this Keychains folder to your Trash
5. Restart computer.

Prior to trying this I did all the Keychain and Disk repair things that had been suggested, to no avail.

Citrix via Safari stopped connecting. Any thoughts?
I work from home often and connect to my work desktop on my Macbook Pro throught Safari via Citrix. Citrix began to fail to work to connect me to my work desktop. I called support and they took me through an exercise to reinstall citrix and then we did something to safari and it worked once then not again. Any thoughts?

If you are using Citrix Receiver with Safari and use secure access certificates installed in Keychain Access, you might try:
-Direct Safari to your secure desktop access URL
-If you get the Safari "page" with the compass and Safari can't connect to secure...
-Click on Safari on the menu bar, then Quit Safari (do not click the red close button)
-Click on Safai icon on the dock
For my use of access to a secure desktop that procedure works everytime. However, a coworker using the same version of Mac OS X (10.7.2) and Safari (5.1.2) and Citrix Receiver (11.4.3) cannot get the procedure to work so stays with Firefox. May be machine differences since I do that with a MacBook Pro and he uses a Mac Pro.
Give the procedure a try and see what happens. -
PE 11 stopped connecting with my iPhone
I've searched evewhere and not having any succes in finding a solution. When I manually select my iphone (running ISO7), it says it is connecting and then just freezes up. If I leave it alone for about an hour, it will give me a message that it could not connect. Someone please - how can I fix?

HT1976 iPhone 5 has suddenly stopped connecting to the internet away from home
My iPhone 5 has suddenly stopped connecting to the internet when away from home. It was fine last Wednesday, then on Thursday all I got was 'Safari is no longer connected to the internet'. I cannot use the Messaging, Find my Friends etc.
As far as I know I have not done anything to alter any settings, but I did change my password on Wednesday - which works, so I think that's OK.
Has anyone any idea what is happening?

Hi,
For no apparent reason my phone stopped working...so I did a reset and got the message 'Restore Needed'. I connected to iTunes and got this message: 'iTunes could not connect to the iPhone because it is locked with a passcode. You must enter your passcode on your iPhone before it can be used with iTunes'.
The problem is, I can't enter my passcode because I'm not given that option on the iPhone. All I seem to be able to do is make an emergency call.
It's been working fine otherwise. Any suggestions?
This is the SECOND replacement iPhone I've had this week and I'm getting a bit fed up.

If so reboot your iPhone and enter the passcode to get it operational. Launch Image Capture on the Mac and connect the iPhone. Now you should be able to download the video files to wherever you want on your hard drive.

If i understand what you are saying then you are seeing the WiFi indicator after connecting but Apps are saying that they are not connected to the internet?
Your router may not have given your iPod a valid IP address. Go to Settings > Wifi > your network name and touch the ">" to the right to see the network details. If the IP address starts with 169 or is blank then your router didn't provide an IP address and you won't be able to access the Internet.
Sometimes the fix can be to restart your router (remove power for 30 seconds and restart). Next, reset network settings on your iPod (Settings > General > Reset > Reset network settings) and then attempt to connect. In other cases it might be necessary to update the router's firmware with the latest from the manufacturer's support web pages.
If you need more help please give more details on your network, i.e., your router make, model and version, the wifi security being used (WEP, WPA, WPA2), etc. -
How do you get your iPhone to stop connecting to face time while on a voice call? And it also does this when I'm on the phone with someone who doesn't have an iPhone. I look down at my phone while on a call and it says connecting to face time

I've had a Samsung network extender for over a year and it's been great. About a week ago, my iPhone 5 stopped connecting to it. I've never had problems with this. All the lights on the extender are blue, so it seems it's working fine. Any suggestions?
Oh no! Lets ensure that you are connected. Have you tried to reset the Network Extender? Are other devices able to connect to the Extender? Is your Internet service up and running?

IPhone 5 WiFi Stopped connecting to Home WiFi
So as of a few months ago, my Iphone 5 stopped connected to many WiFi networks (hotels, Free WiFi etc). I thought this was a network load issue. As of about a week or so ago, it stopped connecting to my Home WiFi.
I have tried EVERYthing. Reset network settings. Reset router. Power cycled both several times. Hard wipe and restore. Static IP. Changed password of network. Changed SSID of network. Changed WiFi version. Changed Channel. Changed security settings of network (WPA/WPA2/WEP). Another iPad running older versions of the OS has no problem connecting to the network and neither does the MAC and a samsung galaxy.
It still does not work on SOME networks. It DOES WORK on enterprise networks and other places.
I went into the genius bar this am - RUDE customer service. Didnt understand the problem. Brought the manager over and he didnt have a solution either. I am hoping someone on the communities has an answer.
Thanks!!!I'm having the EXACT same problem! My iPhone 5 used to connect easily to our and every other network till about a month ago. Now it rarely connects and if it does, is showing speeds of 0.25/0.25 Mbps. There is another iPhone 5, two 5c's, an old iPad, and several computers at our house and NONE of them have a problem connecting. I read about this problem on another forum, tried all the suggested fixes and nothing helps. Genius bar is the next stop. I'll let you know what they say...

I'm on a PC receiving Mac Acrobat files. Sometimes they come over fine; often they come over and my Reader page only has a greyed-out box in it. The files are OK because other PC users are able to view them without any hitches. Any solution? Thanks.
