Safe to delete file ??

C:\Resource\Python25\python25.zip
Is it ok to delete the above file from the phone memory ? It is eating up about 1 mb of my precious internal memory.
I know that "Python for S60" is an important resource for the phone but this is a .zip file and probably a residue of the installation procedure.
Help appreciated.
Nokia C7 (RM-675)
Firmware: 013.016
Nokia C6 (RM-612)
Firmware: 20.0.042

the python app is only necessary if you want to develop and test python apps on your device and also install python apps too.
so if you dont do any of the above, am guessin its safe to remove it. you could just transfer it to your memory card just in case.

  • Safe to delete file from Time Machine hard drive?

Is it safe to delete a file from an external hard drive that's being used for Time Machine backups? The file is not a backup -- it's a .dmg from the manufacturer of the hard drive. Other than that one file, I don't use the drive for anything other than Time Machine.
I'm just concerned because I don't want deleting the file to affect Time Machine in any way.
    Thank you.

I have done it without issue.

  • Safe to delete files after Master Suite CS6 installation on Windows 7 , 64 bit system?

I installed Master Suite CS6 on a new Windows 7 , 64 bit system computer.
The computer has a small (120GB) SSD which has the operating system, and I'm trying to install the rest of my programs and data on larger, standard drives.
    I just noticed that under C:/Users/Robert/Adobe CS6, I have a 6,504,448 KB MasterCollection_CS6_LS16.7Z file (Type 7Z File) and a MasterCollection_CS6_LS16 1031KB Application file
Can I delete the 6.5 GB  7z file or is that needed for operation?
What about the smaler one - is that for launching the applications or was that just to launch the installers?
I also have an 8.16 GBAdobe CS6 Master Collection folder on my Desktop (which is actually a 1TB regular hard drive as opposed to C:)
Inside this folder are two directories: Fonts (211 MB with lots of fonts inside), and Adobe CS6 (with subdirectories deploy; packages; payloads; resources; and a Set-up application 2163 KB
DO I need to save that folder, or was that just for installing the Master Suite?
    Thanks for the help.

    Thank you Bob.
Just to clarify - in terms of backing up one set of these, would that just be so I had it on disk and didn't need to re-download from Adobe if the installation got corrupted somehow?  Or do I need a backup for some other reason?
    Thanks

  • Is it safe to delete the cache file folder from library

is it safe to delete the cache file folder from library ?

As I understand it Robo doesn't really 'do' third-party
source control. We use SourceGear Vault, but really only as a
repository for the files. We can't really work concurrently because
Robo needs exclusive access to the top level project files. But it
kind of works for us, because we're on opposite sides of the globe.
I see what you're saying on the 'local' versions of (say) the
cpd files conflicting. If anyone else has an informed view, I'm all
ears. We've set it up this way ourselves - I don't know of anyone
doing the same. If someone tells me this is a bad idea, I'm happy
    to think again.
    Cheers!

  • How can I delete the update installation files? Or which files are useless and safe to delete?

ThinkVantage System Update application will find the appropriate updates, download them and install them. This is convenient. But when it finishes the updates, it will not clean the installation files it has downloaded, which I think are not useful any more since the update installation is completed, right?
I think the update appliction stores the downloaded files in the folder: C:\Program Files\Lenovo\System Update\ ,   this folder of mine is over 1.32GB big now. But I just don't know which files and subfolders in it are safe to delete.
Or rather, the preload system occupies a large space on the disk. Which files are no longer used and safe to delete?
Would any experts help with this? Thank you very much!
    Norm

I've been experimenting. Now I figure it out. Automatic System Update downloads and stores files in C:\Program Files\Lenovo\System Update\ Sessions\, and in Sessions' subfolders, all files are not used once update is completed except those ending with .xml. Thus those unnacessary files are safe to delete.
This is what I find out so far.
    Continuing to experiment.

  • Is it safe to delete Render Data Files?

I was working my lower third in Motion and switch between
Motion and FCPX to see the results. My laptop told me it couldn't save any changes
because my HD run out of spaces.
What I found is FCPX keeps all the render data in my project folders. Some render folders
have several GB of data. I need to delete them to free up some spaces to keep my laptop
running. (still waiting my LaCie 1TB d2 Qurtra coming in stock, may consider 2TB right now)
If I delete all Render Data files, am I still able to run my projects?
Or, deleting render data files just make FCPX render my project files right from the beginning again?
This's something I consider to do before I get my new external desktop hard drive.
    Any suggestions?
    Thanks.

It's safe, but I'd suggest using the actual application to do it. In FCPX, go to the project view (command-zero). Select a project, then in the File menu there will be an option to Delete Project Render Files... You can either delete files that are no longer being used, or all render files.
Deleting all render files just means that next time you open the project, render files will be recreated.

  • Is it safe to delete driver zip files after driver udpate?

I have recently updated some drivers on my computer and I would like to know if it is safe to delete these zip files once the drivers have actually been installed. There are also some that are just files in the same update folder which are not compressed.

  • Is it safe to delete .fpj files?

In RH9, using Source Control 3.1.
Trying to bring in topics from several other projects. Somehow, we have managed to get all the files we want into the project as displayed in
    RoboSource
    Windows Explorer
But when each of us tries to open the project in RH9, none of us can see the topics we brought in from the other projects. Upon doing some research here in the forums, we opened a few fpj files in these folders and saw that they are scrambled.
There are dozens of these folders, we would prefer not to have to edit them manually.
So, long story long, is it safe to delete them - will they rebuild when the project is reopened?

    Hi there
When you create a folder in RoboHelp, the FPJ is part of the XML structure used by RoboHelp to manage and track topics. I would think RoboHelp will become awfully confused and project corruption will ensue if you start deleting FPJ files.
    Cheers... Rick

I have a 2 TB back-up drive for Time Machine back-ups. It is half full. Is it safe to delete some of the older files? If so, which ones? If the first back-up is a full back-up and not an incremental back-up, I would not want to delete it would I?

  • There are several 10-byte files with names like InstallTime20100707134218 in my Crash reports folder. Is it safe to delete them?

There are several files, each 10 bytes in size, in my Crash Reports folder. Each of these has a name which begins "InstallTime" and then consists of a bunch of numbers which appear to be a date and time. I think that each of them contains a number representing the Unix time of a crash.
Are they safe to delete? Some of them appear to be a good few years old by now.

Yes, you can remove those file. They are created each time a Firefox version is updated. I have a lot of nightly builds installed that get updated each day, so I clean out that folder every now and then and only leave the crashreporter.ini file.

  • What files are safe to delete to create more room on my hard drive?

I'm using my G-4 QuickSilver as my ProTools M-Box LE computer exclusively. What files can I safely delete to create more room on my hard drive for processing and speed?

Let me distill Limnos excellent but lengthy set of suggestions.

Be careful when deleting files. A lot of people have trashed their system when deleting things. Place things in trash. Reboot & run your applications. Empty trash.
    (1)
    Run
    OmniDiskSweeper
"The simple, fast way to save disk space"
    OmniDiskSweeper is now free!
    http://www.omnigroup.com/applications/omnidisksweeper/download/
This will give you a list of files and folders sorted by size. Go after things you know that are big.
    (2) Buy an external firewire harddrive.
    (3) This will save you a gig of space.
Monolingual is a program for removing unnecessary language resources from Mac OS X,in order to reclaim several hundred megabytes of disk space. It requires at least Mac OS X 10.3.9 (Panther) and also works on Mac OS X 10.4 (Tiger). It worked for me on 10.4

You need an external Firewire drive to boot a PowerPC Mac computer.
I recommend you do a google search on any external harddrive you are looking at.
I bought a low cost external drive enclosure. When I started having trouble with it, I did a google search and found a lot of complaints about the drive enclosure. I ended up buying a new drive enclosure. On my second go around, I decided to buy a drive enclosure with a good history of working with Macs. The chip set seems to be the key ingredient. The Oxford line of chips seems to be good. I got the Oxford 911.
The latest the hard drive enclosures support the newer serial ata drives. The drive and closure that I list supports only older parallel ata.
    Here is an external hd.
