Same Data provider, different filter
Hi Expert,
I have a workbook contain 5 layout which is referred to 1 query.
(5 layout because is too wide, I have to separate it by material group)
I know it could be done by creating 5 data providers and I can filter each data providers.
But the problem is, it took long time to generate the workbook (6minutes), because the 5 data providers is executed sequentially,
although from the same query.
I want to know if it is possible to have 1 query, 1 data provider, but different filtering.
Thanks a lot.
Hi
It was not possible with one data provider, but you can directly give them the query with required view so that runtime he can change the values accordingly.

ravi.Hi Somendra,
Thanks for your response sir , i have provided the according to your provided information sir but it was not displaying the data first time also its giving message which i have provided ,my issues is if i provide data from time should display if i provide same data next time then only it should restrict the data and give a message.

Why does PSE 10 Organizer jumble up photos on the same date from different locations ?
I have PSE 10 installed on a PC with Windows 7. My camera is a Nikon D90 using a Sandisk 8 gb SD card. When I take photos at different locations on the same date and download them into the Organizer , instead of keeping the photos from the different locations together by location, it jumbles them all up. It does not keep them in order by time taken from first to last for that day , it just mixes them all up in random order. Why ?
Hi Lyndy,
When you use Albums and Keyword Tags, you aren't moving the images around (they stay in their folders) - you just look at them differently.
What you can try is this:-
1) select one of your folders in folder view so that it displays all of those images in filename order
2) click on the instant album button (to the top right of the thumbnails)
This will generate an album with the same name as the folder
3) Now switch to Thumbnail view
4) click on the new albumb name on the right side
Now, all the images should be in date/time order - you may have adjust the options
The real power of the Keywrd Tags is the many different ways you can look at the images.
If you have a Keyword Tag structure like this:-
Places
Scotland
Holyrood
Britania
Then if you assign the Holyrood and britania tags to the appropiate photos, there are various ways of viewing the photos.
Selecting just Holyrood would show only the Holyrood ones
Selecting Scotland would show both Holyrood and Britania ones.
The only limit seems to be your own imagination
I hope that gives you ideas rather than adding confusion

Hi all,
I'm very new to VBA and excel development, so please take that into consideration as you read on.
I'm trying to create a work form for a database that (should) collect various information in comboboxes, including the date, the weekday, and the month... Note: most of the time, the data will be inserted the day after it's been collected. So, I wanted to create
one combobox for the date, one for the weekday, and one for the month, because I want columns for each of these in the database (If this is not necessary/efficient, please help! :) ) .
Here's what I've got so far:
'worksheet setup
Dim ws As Worksheet
Set ws = Worksheets("LookupList")
'Date dropdown setup
Dim cDateToday As Range
For Each cDateToday In ws.Range("DateList")
With Me.cboDate
.AddItem cDateToday.Value
End With
Next cDateToday
'If today is Monday, then set date to last friday, if any other weekday, set it to day before that
If Weekday(Date - 1) <> 2 Then
Me.cboDate.Value = Format(DateAdd("D", -Weekday(Date) - 1, Date), "Medium Date")
Else
Me.cboDate.Value = Format(Date - 1, "Medium Date")
End If
Problem #1: Right now, I am getting the date values from the list
DateList in the worksheet LookupList...is there a better way of doing this?
Problem #2: When the user form is run, the correct date and format shows up. However, if I change the date, the dropdown list in the combobox starts from the initial date in given list...is there anyway to bring the list closer to the current
date? Think Calendar View
Problem #3: I want the weekday and month values to be directly correlated to the date value discussed above, so hypothetically when the user form is run the correct date, weekday, and month all show up (based on the same date value), then if
I change the date, the weekday and month automatically update. Is this possible, if so how?
The reason I want this functionality is so that on a Monday, I can run the work form and it will automatically have Friday's date, weekday, month info as it opens. When I'm done with Friday, I can run it again, switch the date to the Saturday's
date (weekday and month automatically update), then repeat for Sunday.
I have tried running the same code for the weekday and month as I have for the date, and they work
until the date is changed. Once the date is changed, I have to manually change the weekday, which leads to format change, and same for month, which all leads to :( and confusion
Again, I am very new to vba and don't know much about it all and appreciate any/all help!
Thanks in advance!
/AlexI can give you a little advice but I don't understand your comment "if I change the date, the weekday and month automatically update" Where do you want them to update?
I am assuming that your entire question is referring to a Userform with the Combobox. Is this correct?
The code can be much simpler to populate the combobox list. You already have a named range for the Dates so you can use that directly to populate the RowSource. (RowSource if the combox is on a Userform or ListFillRange for a combobox on a worksheet).
Then the WorksheetFunction Workday can be used to get the previous workday without weekend days. It also looks after the previous day when the actual date is mid week. Look up the function on the worksheet Help because you can also have a separate list
of holidays that will be excluded like weekend days.
If you are new to VBA then a tip about Help. You need to be on the worksheet and click Help to get worksheet help and in the VBA editor you click Help to call the VBA help. Don't just select Help off the taskbar when changing between the worksheet and VBA
because you will finish up with the incorrect Help file.
Example of code to assign a named range to the RowSource of a ComboBox. Named range needs to be Global and not scoped to a worksheet otherwise the worksheet name is also required.
Me.cboDate.RowSource = "DateList"
Example of code to assign the previous workday to the combobox value.
'Following line sets value to previous workday (Mon to Friday)
Me.cboDate.Value = WorksheetFunction.WorkDay(Date, -1)
Then there is another problem with ComboBoxes and dates. If the Dates are real dates on the worksheet (Not Text) then the dropdown list displays in the same format as the worksheet but when the date is selected, it displays as a serial number. This
can also be rectified with code but first I need to know what the format of the data is on the worksheet.
Can you upload a copy of your workbook because it is like a picture is worth a thousand words. Same goes for having a copy of the workbook. If it has sensitive data then create a copy and remove the sensitive data.

Problem wih analysis authorization for two scenarios on same data provider
Dear all,
I am looking for a solution on the following authorization scenario (using the new analysis authorization). Unfortunately everything that I tried did not work out as expected:
User A is allowed to manually access query 1 (based on cube A) with authorization on all sites A-Z
The same user A shall get an email distribution automatically (derivation of the filter in the query out of the authorization) for query 2, which is as well based on cube A, but this time the authorization shall be limited only to site A.
As both queries are based on the same infoobject (0PLANT) and the same infoprovider (0TCAIPROV) I always get the result for all sites A-Z. The 0TCAACTVT is in both cases 03 (display), so I have no chance to distinguish between reporting and email distribution.
Probably the only chance would be to derive the values for the email distribution scenario not from the authorization directly, but using a customer exit to fill the filter - but I would prefer a "standard" solution...
Any ideas??
Thanks,
AndreasDear Andreas,
Before give you an alternative for you problem, Iu2019d like to comment the combining authorization concept:
http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw70/helpdata/EN/46/98cd87f37d19ace10000000a11466f/frameset.htm
For this reason I suggest you which combing restriction through authorization and query filter. For query 2 try to use in 0PLANT characteristic the single value u201Csite Au201D, this restriction give you only authorization for see this value.
Otherwise, you have to use customer exit.
I hope that alternative help you to find a solution,

Collecting same data with different value into a table
Hi,
Can you people help me with this problem.
I have an internal table with different data e.g :
A 2
B 1
C 3
A 1
D 7
B 5
Now i want to put the values of A,B,C,D into another internal table with some other calculation done.
But when i am using READ Table with KEY my second internal table is getting filled with A=2 and the second A=2 as well instead of 1.I guess because it is reading the first record only as its finding A first.
How will i fix this one.
Kind Regards,>

Best way to show multiple copies of same data to different users
Hi,
I am new to configuring and using Oracle. I have an oracle db installed on a server machine and I loaded it with a set of data. I have multiple users who would all like to access the tables but they need to see unique copies of the data.
What is my best approach? Should I create a new database instance? If so what is the best way to copy data to the new instance?
Any help is greatly appreciated. Each developer should copy from the 'base' schema to his own the tables he requires to do his work. Give each developer select privileges on the 'base schema' tables so he cannot change them. This way, the developer can refresh his data as needed on his own. Public synonyms for the base schema tables will enable developers to only have to copy tables they wish to modify.
Creating a separate fully loaded schema for each developer is going to create a never ending load of work for you as developers will be constantly asking you to refresh their schemas. Alternatively, you could create an export of production on a schedule and let the developers do the import to their schema when they wish.
Basically, these folks are developers and, IMNSHO, should be managing their own development schemas. -
How to print the same data in different pages of different trys
Hi,
Part II: Check stub u2013
We need to print Vendor account # (REGUH-LIFNR), Vendor Name ((REGUH-NAME1), Payment doc # (REGUH-VBLNR), Check date (PAYR-ZALDT) and Check number (PAYR-CHECT) in the header portion and in the detail portion Invoice # (REGUP-XBLNR), Date (REGUP-BUDAT), Amount (REGUP-DMBTR), Amount, Discount and Net amount paid (REGUP-DMBTR).
Part III: Check stub u2013
We need to print Vendor account # (REGUH-LIFNR), Vendor Name ((REGUH-NAME1), Payment doc # (REGUH-VBLNR), Check date (PAYR-ZALDT) and Check number (PAYR-CHECT) in the header portion and in the detail portion Invoice # (REGUP-XBLNR), Date (REGUP-BUDAT), Amount (REGUP-DMBTR), Amount, Discount and Net amount paid (REGUP-DMBTR).
i am printing like the above and my question is as below.
Q) If the detail section of Part II and Part III spills beyond the available space then the remainder should be printed on a separate white paper picked from the next tray after printing all the checks. Ensure that this will not be printed on the following check.
Can anyone please answer this.Hi Swathi,
Where does that check box available, could please give your answer in details so that i can follow like that.
Thanks

Regarding transfering the data into different cubes
Hi all,
The relation between infosource and cube is one to many.So by applying update rules we can transfer the the data from infosource to different cubes. So please explain a scenario where in same data is stored in different cubes
thanks in advance
regards
karnaHi
First you wont get any scenario where you have to store the same data in different cubes. There is no point of storing same data in multiple cubes(Wasting DB space) . The one to many scenario could be applied as USERPV said, you have data from a single source system which contains multiple country sales info. Now you want to divide this data based on countries and store in respective cubes, you have to write ABAP code in transfer rule to do this. You can report individual cubes or you can report on all cubes once using multiprovider.
Hope this will clear your doubt.

Store data in different Languages
Hi,
I have to display the same data in different languages like if japans user then there will Japanese Language and if India then English language for the same data.
Is there any way for the same?
Thanx.. RatanRatan,
I dont think so , you have got that in a database ,rather the applications which your users should have the language compatibility.
i.e the interface which has options of selcting languages and displaying the same for them.

CBO generating different plans for the same data in similar Environments
Hi All
I have been trying to compare an SQL from 2 different but similar environments build of the same hardware specs .The issue I am facing is environment A, the query executes in less than 2 minutes with plan mostly showing full table scans and hash join whereas in environment B(problematic), it times out after 2 hours with an error of unable to extend table space . The statistics are up to date in both environments for both tables and indexes . System parameters are exactly similar(default oracle for except for multiblock_read_count ).
Both Environment have same db parameter for db_file_multiblock_read_count(16), optimizer(refer below),hash_area_size (131072),pga_aggregate_target(1G),db_block_size(8192) etc . SREADTIM, MREADTIM, CPUSPEED, MBRC are all null in aux_stats in both environment because workload was never collected i believe.
Attached is details about the SQL with table stats, SQL and index stats my main concern is CBO generating different plans for the similar data and statistics and same hardware and software specs. Is there any thing else I should consider .I generally see environment B being very slow and always plans tend to nested loops and index scan whereas what we really need is a sensible FTS in many cases. One of the very surprising thing is METER_CONFIG_HEADER below which has just 80 blocks of data is being asked for index scan.

I misread your question initially .The system stats are outdated in both ( same result as seen from aux_stats) .I am not a DBA and do not have access to gather system stats fresh.

OBIEE report based on same criteria but different view based on filter
Hi,
I am trying to create a report in OBIEE 11.1.1.5 where In the same report using the same criteria, I can have different views which applies different filter.
Suppose, I have a report criteria as
Dim1, Dim2, Measure1, Measure 2.
I want to create two pivot view based on the same data.
One view will be showing data Dim1="Value1". The other view is duplicate of this view but will show data Dim1="Value2".
Is it possible in OBIEE?
basically what I want is work on the same dataset but different representation and show them in the same report. Please share your opinion.
Regards,
Tanveer.Hi,
You create a new dim dummy column in criteria and in presentation level create new pivot table view use this dummy dimension column and filter with dim1=value2.
give updates on this.
Mark if Helpful/correct.
Thanks. -
How to filter the data in different sections (e.g. Report Footers)?
Hi,
I am using Crystal Reports 11 to generate cross-tables.
I plan to generate 3 cross-tabs, and each cross-table will be put in a section. For example, cross-tab1 in Report Footer a; cross-tab2 in Report Footer b; cross-tab3 in Report Footer c.
I know use "Select Expert" to filter data. But, it seems that "Select Expert" filters data for the whole report.
I want to filter the data for each cross-table separately. For example, filter cross-tab1 based on condition1; filter cross-tab2 based on condition2; filter cross-tab3 based on condition3.
How to filter the data in different sections (e.g. Report Footers)?
Thank you in advance.Hi,
Now that you've inserted the subreport just right-click the sub-report and click Edit. The Design page for sub-report should open up.
You can now insert the cross-tab on the Report Header and insert a record selection formula of your choice.
Also, suppress all the other sections of the subreport so the Main report only shows the crosstab without any spaces.
Do the same for all the subreports.

2 same surrogate keys with different filter conditions in one report
how do we put 2 same sr keys with different filter conditions in one single report??
for example, we have to get the 'count' for tm_sr_key:
1. count(tm_sr_key) where past_due_flag = Y
2. count(tm_sr_key) where past_due_flag = Y and N
to be displayed in one single report.
it happens that both sr_keys will display the same measure (which is the 1st filter conditions)
and the filter under criteria tab in anwer will show as :
tm_sr_key where {filter condition 1}
AND
tm_sr_key where {filter condition 2}
instead of :
tm_sr_key where {filter condition 1} for 1st measure
tm_sr_key where {filter condition 2} for 2nd measure
d only option i could think right now is to duplicate the tm_sr_key data in the same table but with different name say, tm_sr_key_2..
kindly pls help.
thanxi'm sorry, not really understand.
could you pls explain a bit more about the filter column? how do we do it? coz i'm really new in this tool.
r u talking about editing the filter located under the column on the right side of the OBIEE answers?
or is it by editing the 'edit column formula' for required column; that is by replacing the 'column formula' expression with this:
FILTER(EXPS_FACT.FAC_SR_KEY USING EXPS_FACT.PAST_DUE_FLAG = 'Y') <----if it is like this, i tried it already & its giving me an error message..
thanx.

Can we write data to different sheets in the same excel output file ?
Hi,
I am using XML publisher and generating output in the excel sheet format.
Is it possible to write the data to different sheets on the same excel file using XMLP?
Please let me know how to do this.
Thanks in advance,
Raj.Hi,
No, it's not possible with 5.6.2. Excel based templates are supposed to be coming but I don't know when the release date will be.
Thanks
