  • Samsung Galaxy S III Text Messaging Problems

My problem started 3 days ago. All of a sudden one of my contacts does not receive my text messages and I don't receive his. No error in sending comes up on my phone when I send a message to him he just simply doesn't get it. Its so weird because I don't have a problems with text messaging sending or receiving with any other contact. He has an AT&T iphone ios7 and I have a Verizon Samsung Galaxy S III. We've both had these phones for months and never had a problem. We've tried turning our phones off and back on. We've both checked to see if one of us had blocked a number that wasn't the case. We've deleted each other as contacts and left the 1 at the beginning off or put it back in. He's reset his network settings and nothing! A few months ago when I switched from sprint to verizon I had a problem sending or receiving text messages from any one who didn't have verizon. The solution was turning my old and new phone off and then just turning on the new one. The problem was resolved. I was thinking this may be the problem but I hadn't ever had my old phone back on. So I tried the same thing anyway turning my old phone on and then both phones off and just turning the new one on. I still can't send and receiving text messages from him. I can call him and it works great. But this not being able to text him is getting really annoying! Any suggestions on how to fix this problem?

        reggie9789,
I am sorry to hear that you are having issues with text messages on your device with one individual. If you have a long thread of text messages with this individual I would erase the thread and try sending a brand new message, where you type in the number (not from the contact). Make sure that you have removed the battery out of your device and try again as well. I am confident this will help your texting issue.

  • Verizon Customer Service and Samsung Galaxy S III

A little over 3 weeks ago I purchased a Samsung Galaxy III phone from Verizon.
    The exact store is:
    224 North Weber Road,
    Bolingbrook, IL 60440
    (630) 226-4660
When I purchased the phone the person who sold me the phone told me that I had 30 days, If I was not completely satisfied with the phone I could return it and get my money back.  However, he assured me that I would LOVE my new phone.
I had just come off using a Blackberry for 4 years with no problems AT ALL!  I loved that phone, but I thought it would be nice to get up to the 21st century phone standards and get a touch screen phone.  Well, I went for the best…… or so I thought.
As soon as I got my new phone in the car, I started using the speaker phone hands free.  The speakerphone began to cut in and out and the person, my husband whom I most speak with could not understand what I was saying.  I used the speakerphone on my Blackberry without issue.  I did not think much of it because I was so happy to have my new phone.  I thought maybe I was just in a bad area etc… Well the issue persisted also when I called my bank, my husband’s mother, my mother and it did not matter where I was the speaker phone did not work properly.  Then my phone started to drop calls.  Again, I thought it may have been the area, but it started happening a lot.  So now I was really beginning to wonder.  Having though I was still under the 30 DAY warranty, I gave it a few more days.  I began having to take out the battery to reset the unit because apps where disappearing and when I went to re-install them the unit indicated that app was already on my phone and wanted to know if I would like to uninstall the app.  I had to once again take out the battery and have the unit restart.  Well, I could not take it anymore.  With all of the things going wrong only a couple of weeks after purchase, I had to go into the store and see what they could do for me.  I went in and explained my situation to the manger who was greeting people at the door, I think her name was Katie or something like that.  She put me in line on her IPad just like everyone else for someone to assist me.  I was assigned to a very pleasant associate who took the battery out of my phone and said try this to see if this works for you.  I, not knowing very much about the technology said ok and walked out of the store.  Well it kept on getting worse.  I went back to the store on Sunday, September 30th 2012 asking for my money back or a new replacement for the phone.   They would not assist me. I started with a regular associate and went up the chain finally getting Katie (the store manager) who repeated everything that everyone else said.  So, obviously, she has no managerial skills at all.   She stated that they would have to totally reset my phone to see if some apps where conflicting etc.  Isn’t that what you purchase a Smartphone for??? To put apps on it and calendars etc.  I just downloaded a calendar and Xfinity because that is what I have my e-mail on.  I don’t’ think that was the issue, but you could not tell Katie anything.
I wanted a new phone replacement or money back as I spent $300.00 dollars on this phone.  She would not have it.  She said we have to go through the proper trouble shooting because I was out of the 14 day return policy!!!!.   OMGsh 14 days????  I was told 30!  Had I known this, I would have gotten my money back the first time I took the phone in for the issues I was having.  At that time, I was still under the 14 day policy!  I proceeded to express my opinion to everyone in the store stating “Don’t buy a Samsung Galaxy III” They are pieces of **bleep**. Well, needless to say Katie did not like that and she set my phone down in front of me and said, if I am going to swear, she is not going to help me.  Ok, then I re-worded my statement to tell everyone in the store “Don’t buy a Samsung Galaxy III they are pieces of garbage”  I cleaned it up a little, but still got my point across.  I also told her that I would blog about it and send a letter to the corporate office of both Samsung and Verizon.  I don’t think that she believed me, but here I am taking my time for this stuff.  Time I don’t have much of, but I feel very strongly about this situation.  I was lied to and Katie had the nerve to tell me that if I get a replacement phone from them, it would be a refurbished unit even though I just purchased the unit 3 weeks earlier.  THAT is unacceptable by any standards!!!
Needless to say I left the store totally dissatisfied with Verizon’s customer service and the Samsung Galaxy III phone.  I have not put any unusual apps on my phone nor have I downloaded a new calendar to my phone and I am still having the same issues with dropped calls and bad speaker phone.  I will not put any time into this phone for them to tell me they need to reset the whole darn thing again!  I am not going to bother going back to that Verizon store, because I know that they will not lift a finger to do anything about it.
My husband wants an IPhone 5.  We will not be purchasing this from Verizon and I will probably eat the cancellation fee and go through AT&T so that my husband can get his IPhone.  I will never purchase another thing from Verizon, this is not the first time that that they have let me down.
I hope that this letter, blog, facebook, YouTube note will open some eyes with regard to Verizon customer service and the Samsung Galaxy III phone.  I don’t know if it will, but with social media as it is, I hope it DOES!
    Thanks for nothing Verizon!!!
    Sincerely
    Donna {edited for privacy}

  • Is it possible to use a Samsung Galaxy S III Mini with a prepaid plan?

My sister wants to switch to Verizon and the $60 prepaid plan seems the right fit for her. But she also has her eye on the S III Mini or the S 4 Mini.  Does anyone know if it's possible?  Thanks!

You cannot use a 4G device on Verizon Wireless prepaid.

  • I cannot get the ringback tones to work on my new Samsung Galaxy S III

I have a new Samsung Galaxy and I purchased some ring tones and ringback tones for specific contacts. The tones work fine but the ringback tones do not work at all. I am registered, I have taken the appropriate steps to purchase, attach and manage these songs. What is the problem?

Are you managing your ringback tones through your MyVerizon account online?

  • I have a samsung glaxy S III and I cannot send mms/picture message.

I cannot send MMS/picture message and I cannot send picture message through facebook too. Please help me I have check the use packet data from mobile network.

If you were trying to send them over Wifi, that may be the reason. For mms, you have to use the network data connection, it won't work on Wifi.

  • Cannot send an MMS with Samsung Galaxy III

    Highly frustrating.
I have turned on mobile data, turned on wi-fi, restarted it and it still doesn't want to send. The send circle just keeps going around and around, for hours! I have 2GB worth of data so it shouldn't be a problem. Can anyone tell me how to make it work because I really have no desire to drive up to Verizon, don't have the time. The phone is less than a week old. >.<

    No luck..>.<
Perhaps I was doing it wrong. I took out the battery and held down the power button for 10 seconds. Then figuring I read it wrong, I took out the battery, let it sit for 30 seconds, put it back in and held the power button. Just powered on like usual. I really want to be able to send picture messages...>.<

  • Lightroom crashes on import with Samsung Android Phone plugged in USB

I went to import some photos taken on a Samsung Galaxy S3 phone into Lightroom 5.5 via USB.  Plugging in the phone with import selected or selecting import with the phone already plugged in crashes Lightroom, every time.  Now, I can copy the pictures to the computer and then presumably import them, but Lightroom shouldn't crash when a smartphone is plugged in...

Funny I should find this post on my first web search - I just updated from v5.4 to v5.5 only 10 minutes ago and *BLAMMO*  . . . Lightroom crashes as soon as I hit the Import button when my Samsung Galaxy S III is attached via USB.  This is on Windows 7 64-bit.
Lightroom v5.4 has been happily importing files from the same phone all along, so something has regressed in v5.5, it seems.  Importing from a USB storage device should be relatively straightforward.
EDIT: I uninstalled v5.5 and reinstalled v5.4 - it imports without problems using the same scenario that crashed v5.5 above.
Little help, Adobe?  Please?  I'm willing to send logs, test various scenarios, etc.

  • Connect samsung phone to macbook

What app is available to connect a Samsung Galaxy S III with a MacPro?

Sadly none at all.   http://www.markspace.com/ is working on a solution, but it is partly problematic since Apple got rid of sync services in Mac OS X 10.9.

  • IPhone 4S vs. Galaxy Samsung Siii

I am not sure if I have this in the right forum - so if a mod needs to transfer it, I apologize.
I am trying to decide on the iPhone 4s or  the Samsung Siii.  Does anyone have any reviews on either or both from personal experience.   I presume the main difference is that the iPhone is 3g and the Samsung is 4g.     I like that the samsung is larger.  I  have a droid incredible right now and am not happy with it.
    Thanks!

        Hello EmsMom1999,
The iPhone 4S and the Samsung Galaxy S III are the two most popular phones right now! The specs on both devices are SUPER impressive and the designs on both devices are extremely elegant! I felt compelled to respond to this posting because I am a proud owner of both devices. I would like to share some information on both devices and I hope that it helps you with your decision.
For obvious reasons, I have owned the iPhone 4S longer. The style, feel, and build quality of the iPhone is by far the BEST I have ever had in a device. The functionality of the device has been focused on simplicity. All the icons are on one screen and the touch screen responsiveness is instantaneous! Since I am an international traveler, the iPhone is ideal as it’s a world phone! I like the size of the device as far as making calls but for web browsing and other media functions, this is an opportunity for the iPhone 4S. Also, the cost of ownership on the iPhone is more expensive as there are more apps that cost on the app store.
The Samsung Galaxy S III is a phone that does not need an introduction! It’s the latest in the Galaxy S line and its functionalities are nearly endless! With its 4.8 inch screen, 1.5 GHz processor, and a super AMOLED screen, it’s clear as to why I enjoy media and data functions on the Galaxy S III! Did I fail to mention its 4G LTE connectivity and the ability to talk and surf the web at the same time while on 4G? Yes, the S III is the future of wireless! Some of the opportunities that the S III is not global as of yet, which is important to me. Also, some people may consider a 4.8 inch screen too big!
So there you have it my friend! Keep in mind that the opinion listed above are mine as an owner of both devices, not that of my professional opinion. If you have any additional questions for me then I will be happy to engage.
    Thank you…

  • SAMSUNG GALXY SIII IN A NOT SO GOOD SITUATION!

I seen a this on Engadget Mobile an was Shocked at What i seen. New Owners might what to see this as well..
    http://www.engadget.com/2012/06/20/samsung-galaxy-s-iii-melts/

I'm guessing it was most likely a faulty third party accessory that the phone didn't like. Either that, or it was a circumstantial fault within the phone or extreme circumstances. Until I hear in the news about the outbreak of Galaxy S3 deaths across the country, I'll go ahead and say my S3 pre-order is still a go.
It could also be a last ditch effort from apple to try and discredit the phone, I really wouldn't put it past them. They've already proven how far they're willing to go to stay on top. << Comment removed to comply with Verizon Wireless Terms of Service >>

  • Samsung Galaxy s3 bluetooth text message

I have the new Samsung Galaxy S III and am not able to get the text messaging feature in my Ford Sync to work.  I previously had a Droid2 and had no problems.  I contacted Ford and they said that I needed to have the Message Access Protocol (MAP) active on my phone.  I can't find that anywhere!  When I turn message notification on in the car, I get a message that says "unsupported" - anyone else having this issue??

SYNC - Make sure MAP and message notification are both on.

    http://ford-life.com/2011/10/11/common-android-device-sync-issues/
If that does not work, try disconnecting and resetting the phone and/or SYNC. That did fix the problem for the Droid Razr Maxx, but sadly not for my S3.
