Data passed from ABAP proxy not reaching PI...

Hi,
My scenario is
ECC ABAP Proxy --> PI --> legacy
In dev box, it is working fine, when data is sent from ECC dev, it reaches PI dev.
But when data is sent from ECC quality, data is not reaching PI quality.
This set up has already been in production and working fine.
I have done some minor mapping changes only in ESR and moved to PI quality. Nothing changed in the Integration builder side.
But a client copy was done from ECC prod to ECC quality (not PI systems). Will this have any impact on proxy ?
What can I check to make sure everything is in place ?

Hi,
In SLDAPICUST the SLD server host and port will be maintained. The ECC will use this to connec to SLD at runtime and get the business sytem details. This can be checked via transaction SLDCHECK.
Also what the transaction SPROXY says in the ECC system. Is it connecting your PI system and loading the ESR information?
There are a few more configuration that needs to be checked in ECC system for proxy communication, I think this blog can help you.

Viewset does not have data passed from GenIL

Hi All,
We have a custom component in which data is not getting passed from a ViewSet to the Overview page. The details of the issue are given below:
There is a detail view zsoEF and a table view zsoChild. These 2 views are housed in a viewset zsoVS. This view set has an event Eh_OnBack which requires the data from views zsoEF and zsoChild to be passed to overview view zsoOV.
We recently upgraded to CRM 7.0. After the upgrade, the values entered on the views zsoEF and zsoChild are processed in the ZGenIL. The context nodes and the custom controllers are filled correctly with the screen values and some auto added data based on validations..
When we click on the Back button, then Eh_OnBack does not have data in the Custom Controller. I am not able to pin point the reason for this missing data in the Back event. From the way i understand, when we do data binding in the views, we don't have to do that in ViewSet. Has there been any change in this design in CRM 7.0?
I would like to know if there is any workaround for this issue.

Hi Rini,
Did you try to bind the context nodes with the component controller. Can give it a try whether it resolves the problem. Any way it is difficult to say anything as we don't have an idea what exactly you did in the component. Lets take it forward. In the mean time have a look in the below link.

Tags dont appear in XI from ABAP Proxy!!

Hi,
I have an interface which receives the data from SAP to XI via ABAP proxy. There are some fields in the structure which are mandatory in XI and the values are not been passed from SAP. As a result, the tags dont appear when the message enter XI and this results in the message mapping failure.
As a workaround, we are checking for the existence of this field in the incoming message and assigning some constant value to it.
But is this, the only option? do we have any better approaches to tackle this?

Hi Vinayak,
There are some fields in the structure which are mandatory in XI
In XI, we make the fields mandatory based on the requirement and business rules of the sender side. If u r making it mandatory, that means the sender has requested u to do so. This implies that the sender should send the data according to the specifications it has provided to XI implementer.
So either request the sender to send data according to its specification or change the structure in XI.
If u couldnt do either, handling it in message mapping is good enough.

do we have any better approaches to tackle this?

XSD Data Type to ABAP Proxy Tech. Type

I am working with an ABAP development team who is creating PROXYs from the Service Interfaces I have setup in the ESR (PI 7.11). I have been asked to set the type of a numeric field by the ABAP developer as this:
"Yeah we can convert from string to currency but sap internally stores currency with 3 decimals so we may got to do some multiplications and divisions based on how many decimals sender passes. If you could create a numeric with 3 decimals that is ideal."
The XSD type as xsd:decimal, but in the proxy it seems to create Tech. Type = STRING.
I can apply formatting rules in the message mapping, but developer is convinced that the Service Interface can have the correct ABAP Tech. Type. I do not find any messages in this forum, so not sure what to do.

Internal ABAP types like packed or float cannot be created by ABAP proxy.
I recommend to use String for any type. Inside XML you will have a String representation anyway, but you will encounter less issues in converting from XML to ABAP internal types.
I work a lot with currency fields, it is no problem at all. Inside ABAP you mave currency field to string field, the decimals are correct.
If course, in mapping you have to create a decimal field, but this would not be any change, if you had a decimal type in ABAP.

CRVS2010 beta - Date field from database does not display in report

Hi there - can someone please help?!
I am getting a problem where a date field from the database does not display in the report viewer (It displays on my dev machine, but not on the client machines...details given below)
I upgraded to VS 2010
I am using the CRVS2010 Beta
My development machine is Windows 7 - and so is my fellow developer's
We are using Microsoft SQL Server 2000
We run the queries within VS and then we send the data table to VS using .SetDataSource
We have a few reports which display the date on our dev machines (whether we run the EXE or from within Visual Studio)
When we roll out to the client machines (running Windows XP SP3) then everything works, except that the date does not display (on quite a few reports)
This is the only real issue I have had - a show stopper for me
The rest works well - any input will be greatly appreciated

After much testing I have it all working now using CRDB_adoplus.dll as a data source ( XML )
Alter your Config file to look like this:

How to extract attachment from ABAP proxy and store in archive link....

Hi Experts,
I need to consume an incoming email attachment in the ABAP Proxy program (POP Mail --> PI --> ABAP Proxy) and then store this file in the IBM content management server through the Archvie Link connection.
Any idea how to implement this piece of code in ABAP?

You can get the files from Sender Mail adapter. In proxy implement the method of protocol IF_WSPROTOCOL_ATTACHMENTS as said above.
Archive Link supports HTTP, RFC etc depends on the system you are going to use for archiving. For your case you have IBM server i think you have to do HTTP synchronous. This will be like an interface again for you.
Why are you using ERP system in middle. I think you can directly dump data to IBM server.

Data Passing from ME21N to ME22N or ME23N

Hi,
I'm using screen exit to add some custom fields in PO Creation screen. I used the enhancement MM06E005. I have to add fields in Header hence, I added those in CI_EKKODB. Then, I designed 0101 screen of SAPMM06E.
Further I used EXIT_SAPMM06E_008 to Pass data from Subscreen to Structure for storage of data entered in customer-screen.
Till this point, it is working fine.
My issues are --
1). When I press Change button on the screen, customer-screen does not change its mode of display as with rest of the screen.
2). After saving data using ME21N, it is not being reflected in ME22N and ME23N; while other data from standarad screen are coming.
Can you please guide me what to do and which exit is to be used for the purpose..?

Reading from ABAP memory, not available in call stack

Hi,
I need to read a table from ABAP memory. It is not available from the call stack, so I cant use the standard assign approach. The internal table is listed under System areas -> Area ITABS-HEADS with the name \FUNCTION-POOL=MLSP\DATA=IY_ESLL[]
Is it even possible to read this table? Seems as though I have to access function-pool MLSP to find it.

Hi,
The main program of this function pool is SAPLMLSP. If you in any of theses includes can add a small form that returns the content of internal table ( IY_ESLL[] ) that should solve your problem.
In the program that need the data, write something like :
PERFORM Z_GET_MLSP_DATA(SAPLMLSP) using GT_ESLL.
This form can be created within any sub-include within the SAPLMLSP.
However, with a quick look at SAPLMLSP does not reveal any user modifiable includes, but I didn't check very carefully.
If you are on ECC 6.0, there are plenty of enhancement spots, which could be used for this purpose.

Data packets in abap proxy

Hi
I am sending a data from R/3 to XI using abap proxy. Here if the data packets are waiting in the queue for some time
am getting an error " Time Limit Exceeded" and user is cancelling the job for processing in R/3
pls advice me how do i find the queue name and solve this issue.

Hi,
These HTTP calls can sometimes be disrupted by timeout errors:
- ICM_HTTP_TIMEOUT
- ICM_HTTP_CONNECTION_FAILED.
How you can try to deal with those errors:
1. you can try increasing the HTTP_TIMEOUT of the Integration Engine:
a) go to TCODE - SXMB_ADM
b) Integration Engine Configuration
c) Change specific configuration
d) Increase the HTTP_TIMEOUT parameter value - this value depends on your specific needs.

Possible to set Dynamic Config from ABAP Proxy

Hi,
I know how to get and set Dynamic Config from Java/XSLT mappings and adapter modules. But I want to do this from an outbound ABAP Proxy Call (in the same way I can set the serialization context for EOIO), is that possible?
The scenario is: I have an interface; Proxy -> Xi -> ftp, with no mapping. It seems unnecessary to introduce a mapping just to set some dynamic config values for the receiving adapter which are already known at the outbound proxy call...

In the thread you mention it is shown that you can set Dynamic Config properties during an ABAP mapping. My question was if I can set these properties already in the proxy call? Or did I miss something?
Of-course I can introduce a dummy mapping in Java/XSLT/ABAP which copies the source message to the result message and sets the dynamic config properties, but I would rather not introduce a mapping if not neccessary...

Data passed from Java to a PL/SQL function

OK, I am at the beginner-to-intermediate level when it comes to PL/SQL...and a virtual novice when it comes to Java, so please forgive me if my question seems strange or naive.
We are developing a Java-based web app. Some of the screens are reminiscent of a spreadsheet-type layout--potentially LOTS of rows and LOTS of columns (actually, an open-ended # of rows/columns--the rows represent a particular 'thing' and the columns represent the dates on which that 'thing' occurred), where the user can check off any and all the cells that apply. We are also 'auditing' all database activity (who did what to the data, and when). The approach we have chosen is as follows: When the user clicks save, the first thing we do is 'inactivate' all of the existing active rows in the db for that screen, whether or not they have changed(i.e., there is an 'active' flag that we set to false & we also save the user id of the person making the change and the date time of the change). Then the Java code calls the database once per row/contiguous column unit. For instance, on a single row, if the user checks off columns 1-4 and 7-15 and column 21 the Java code will send three calls to the database for that row with info about the start/stop column for each unit.
OK--here is my concern...the majority of the time there will be a reasonably small #of 'units'. Occasionally there will be a moderate, and once in awhile a LARGE # of 'units'. So, let's take an extreme case and say that currently the db has 200 such row/contiguous column units for a given screen. The user goes into that screen and adds the 201st unit, then clicks Save. Java calls the db to first inactivate the 200 rows. Then one by one Java calls the db to add the rows back in, only on row #40, the internet connection is lost. The only way the user can tell what happened is to look at the entire screen and reverify ALL the data in order to tell what got saved/resaved and what didn't. Obviously this is a bad situation that we want to avoid.
I should add that the reason this approach was chosen is that the Java developers thought it would be way too complex in this situation to track the changes the user made on the screen, sort out what has been added/modified/deleted, and only call the db for changes.
So given this background, can anyone offer any suggestions/ideas on how we can prevent unintended data loss given the auditing constraints and concern about minimizing complexity on the Java side (redesigning the GUI screen is NOT an option, as the users are very attached to this design)?
Is there a way for Java to pass a multidimensional (& variable-sized) array to a PL/SQL function? Can Oracle's complex (row, table) data types be used in a function's parameter string, and if so...how?...Or else is there some way we can send a single call to the db on a screen like this one? We thought of calling the db once and sending one very large string packed with all the data (could get very big, not sure of Oracle's limatations on passed data--is it 32K for varchar2? )
Advice, ideas, even random thoughts would be greatly appreciated!

That would be "the only way" if the Java programmers had decided to totally bury the error â¦ what should happen here is the end-user should get a proper error message â¦ no need to re-verify at this point since all bets are off (in fact, nothing shouldâve been changed in the database).
Nonetheless, your concerns regarding the chosen approach are valid â¦ making multiple calls to the database after a Save makes controlling a business transaction rather complex (in an n-tier system) â¦ they should make one call only to the database passing in all the data to be saved â¦ one database transaction â¦ either all changes get applied or none.
The fact that lots of data may need to be passed in for one Save is of no relevance â¦ if you have to carry 500Kb of data for that screen then, well, you have to do it â¦ 1 bucket of 500Kb or 50 buckets of 10Kb? â¦ it doesnât really matter as far as the actual transport part is concerned.
As already answered, one can pass complex types in pl/sql â¦ so one database call per Save would be my first random thought. There are lots of suspect things in here â¦ some things you didnât mentioned at all â¦ like how is concurrency addressed? â¦ have you/they implemented some sort of optimistic locking mechanism? Of course the architecture of your system wonât be solved in a forum â¦ so, finding a good system/data/Oracle architect on site for the project would be my second random thought.
PS. One last random thought â¦ fight off that idea of packing and sending large strings (XML or not) â¦ if the data is structured then contemplate XML for no more than few seconds.

When I go to transaction SPROXY, it´s with not generate.
