SAP as consumer for WebServices

Hi all,
we often use SAP-IDOCs to replicate master-data to other systems (SAP is the actor). It's simple, because a little bit of ALE-Customizing and IDOC-XML are transported to the foreign systems.
The questions I have are:
a) Is there any support to use the ALE-Change Pointer technology (or something like that) to automatically call WebServices?
b) Can I generate a "Proxy Object" and use it as ALE-Port (best would be TRFC Port-) )?
c) Where can I do the "Mapping" to the external WebService?
A possible solution for me is to use XI/PI/ESR... - but how in ERP 6.0?
Any hints for me?
Thanks,
Christian

Please make sure that all the services required for the server to start are running.
Please go to Control Panel -> Administrative Tools -> Services. Assuming your server is called CE1, the following services must be running:
SAPCE1_00
SAPCE1_01
MAXDB: CE1
XServer
If any of them are manual and not automatic, you would either have to set them to automatic or start them manually each time you bring up your server.

  • SAP PP: Consumables for BOM

    Dear PP experts,
    Good day to you all.
    A client has got one scenario.
    Its a discrete manufacturing company. They want to prepare a material BOM. Also it pertains consumables like WELDING RODS,  LPG GAS for cutting etc etc.
    For ex:
    A detail material list is maintained in BOM for Semi finished goods/Finished Goods and Work centers for the SFG/FG are let say Drilling, Welding, Cutting etc etc.
    When the Raw material goes for Cutting operation it requires LPG GAS and the same shall be WELDED (joined with welding process let say it requires TWO NOS welding rods) with the another cutting material for which it requires WELDING RODS.
    Can anyone let me know how to and where to give all the consumables in BOM to do the process.
    Rgds,
    VKUMAR A

    Hi
    It depends upon the value and the requirement, if you can segregate the total consumption of LPG and other consumables on the base qty of various SFG/FG like for producing 1 SFG, this much LPG and other consumables are required then you can assign in BOM, Also value wise it should be like so that it wont give error while executing the SCE.
    As Standard practice since we cannot pragmatically calculate the quantities of consumable per production then it should be issue to production cost center.

  • Consume a WebService that exists in SAP ECC 6.0

    Hello evrybody,
    I have a requirement that I've never done before, I have a webservice in transaction WSADMIN in a SAP ECC 6.0, and I need to consume it from PI but I don't know how, I've worked before with BAPI's and ABAP Proxies but never with WebServcies like this, do you know any documentation or maybe a blog on how to do this?, thanks in advance.
    Regards,
    Karla

    Thanks for your answers, I've used ABAP Proxies before, but in the way of generating an ABAP Proxy of a Inbound or Outbound interface from the IR, now I need to consume a WebService already created in SAP ECC 6.0, and I've never donde this before, I'm trying to understand that using SOAP Adapter I should get the WSDL File of the webservice and upload as an External Definition in the IR, but where could I get the URL to consume the webservice that exists in SAP ECC 6.0, thanks.

  • SAP to consume third party webservice that requires saml authentication

    Hi All,
    I am able to invoke our thirdparty webservice from soapUI, but it is a two step procedure, This is how it works in SoapUI:
    step 1) first send below predefined message, embeded with username and pwd in the header:
    <SOAP:Envelope xmlns:SOAP="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/envelope/">

    If we want to implement the same functionality using abap consumer proxy, do we need to invoke with two different requests,
    is there any efficient way, where we can specify the values of <wsse:Username> and <wsse:Password>, and invoke with original payload.
    is there any config in SOAMANAGER, to specify the saml releated settings, for the consumer proxy.
    what could be the simplest way to consume this webservice in sap.
    thanks in advance, BJagdishwar.

    Hi,
    Please create logical port using wsdl directly it will apply required settings in LP. You can also ask for client certificate which you can apply while calling 3rd party services. To me this seems X509 client certificate authentication.
    You can also create LP manually by giving SAP SAML authentication and save. Next time when you edit LP you will be able to see plenty of option to configure required settings.
    Please note that not all security methods are supported by SAP.

    do you connect to internet via proxy? if yes you have to either code proxy authentication or simply maintain it in transaction SICF.
    go to
    SICF->client->proxy settings
    go to http_log tab
    host name: proxyhost.domain.com
    port: <portno>
    user - > proxy user id
    pwd -> proxy pwd and save it .
    and this setting is per client , so you have to do that for all clients.
    Regards
    Raja
    I am working on getting the proxy settings completed and will update the post when i am through with all the findings.

    Hi,
    I am still having the same problem, however the scenario in which I am getting varies.
    I am getting this exception:
    "com.sap.engine.services.webservices.jaxm.soap.accessor.NestedSOAPException: IOError while working with the message."
    Some users when trying to login into the portal are getting blank screen and for some the portal launcher page is loading fine and could go to the Home Page.
    When I view the logs I am seeing the Nested Soap Exception.
    Any Ideas??? Starting the J2EE engine also did'nt help.
    Thanks in advance.

  • Consuming external webservice in an automated activity

    hi,
    i am consuming a bapi based webservice in an automated activity. i have checked this in wsnavigator using WSDL, it is working fine. when i consume this in my process dc , it asks me to create aService group. i have created one and now deployed dc to server. it doesn't work and in log error it shows that thsi service group is not assigned to any physical system.
    now i tried to create a business scenario communication, for this i created provider systems (it was created and pinged sucessfully, showed all the web services lying in its service registry). when i was creating business scenario, under first step credentials of service group and provider systems are provided. unser second step when i tried to add the services it didn't showed the services which it showed me while i pinged.
    please tell me how to sucessfully consume an external web service (bapi based). This is lying on SR but when i tried to access it through single service administration, it was not there. please guide me how can i sucessfully consume this webservice (using service group or logical destination).
    Thanks In Advance.

    Hi Rohit,
    try with Application Communication Configuration instead of Business Scenario (should be easier for single service). Make sure you have entered the correct credentials for the backend system (both for metadata retrieval and for runtime invocation).
    Instead of Service Registry you can also try with WSIL when creating the provider system. The WSIL URL for the ABAP system should look like this: http://host:port/sap/bc/srt/wsil.
    Please also check the SOA config guide by Alexander Zubev:

    Hope this helps,

  • Getting error in consuming google webservices from JspDynPage

    Hi All,

    An exception occurred while processing a request for :

    GoogleSearchResult result = googleService.doGoogleSearch("google", "SAP", 0, 10, false, "", false, "", "", "");
    ResultElement[] results = result.getResultElements();
    if(results != null) {
    response.write("<br> Search Result Size " +results.length );

    Hi,
    I am still having the same problem, however the scenario in which I am getting varies.

  • Consuming a WebService

    Hi All,
    Im following this help doc to build an application to consume a webservice.
    http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/81/12703e5da3e946e10000000a114084/frameset.htm
    What I want to understand is the following :
    In point no 7. What configuration do I need to do with the logical port.
    7. If necessary, configure the logical port.
    In point no 8. What is SEI and how do I program my application using the SEI.
    8.  Program your application using the service endpoint interface (SEI).
    What does the below mean? This is point no 8 continued.
    When programming a client application, you receive a stub that implements the service endpoint interface through the implementation class of the service interfaces.
    Transfer the Web Service Client API to the Java project class path that contains the client application. You can also add the Client API JAR file from the context menu of the Java Explorer in the Web Service perspective.

    Hi
    I have created a deployable proxy for this webservice. I have now created a EAR and have deployed this EAR on the JAVA WAS.
    Then I have added the JAR file of this JAVA Proxy into my project using->Project->Properties->Add Jars.
    The question is how do I use this proxy now.
    Thanks

  • Consuming MII WebService in Java WebDynpro

    Hello,
    We are facing a strange situation...
    We define a transaction in MII to be consumed as WebService in Java WebDynpro. This transaction is a simple query on a DB returning 4 fields :
    Shift code : SHIFT
    Shift description : DESCRIPTION
    Start time : START_TIME
    End time : END_TIME
    It works fine, we use the import adaptative web service wizzard in netweaver developper studio to use this WS...
    But if we to an update on the webservice, changing a field name for example (SHIFT -> SHIFTCODE), we start to have trouble...
    We got then the very helpful error message :
    Exception on execution of web service with WSDL URL '<sever>/WebServices/GetShift' with operation 'Xacute' in interface 'XacuteWSSoap'
    If I display the model info using wdContext.currentRequest_XacuteElement().modelObject().associatedModelClassInfo().getModelInfo().toString()
    I got the following (extract) :
    <ModelClassPropertyInfo name="SHIFT" dataType="com.sap.tc.webdynpro.model.webservice.types.string(java.lang.String)" readOnly="false" qName="SHIFT" required="true" backendType="null"/>
    As you can see, the model definition is NOT updated and we still have SHIFT as name instead of SHIFTCODE...
    If someboby has an idea, it will save us our life ;o)
    Thank you
    PS:it the same behaviour if we add a field...

    Oliver -
    Did you try to reimport the WS model ..? If yes and still doesn't work...Try  to delete the old proxy in webdynpro ( adoptive ws) and import again.
    To avoid code changes, you can give same old name while fresh import.
    Adoptive WS in webdynpro  is not really like Adoptive RFC .It has some limitations.
    Thanks
    Hari
