    hi,
KPI means key performance indicators. A project may contain some KPI's which need to be met. They can be in business logic for which the design and analysis part should be designed in a proper way to meet them. They can be related to queries, data loads or sometimes realted to business logic of the client.

How to create Dashboards in SAP BW-3.5?

  • Excel VBA - Automatically checkout and checkin documents from SAP R/3

    Hello,
I'm trying to implement some sort of automatic solution for checking out and in documents in SAP.
We have EasyDMS as Document Management System and need to reword about 10000 files which have a bug in their macro. For this purpose I created an Addin for Word and Excel that changes the macros automatically when opening a file. Due to security problems we cannot distribute this Addin to all Users (because you must deactivate macro security for enabling this Addin). So we thought about a possibility to automate the process and do the changes over weekend.
My idea was to write a makro in Excel that takes the information about the files (documentnumber, version...) form an Excel table and uses RFC to call a function that can checkout the files. On this machine the Addin would be enabled, of course.
I found the function "BAPI_DOCUMENT_CHECKOUTMODIFY2" and tried to implement the call via RFC, but I get an error.
The error says: Application-defined or object-defined error
I think the Problem is the data structure of the parameters.
Can someone figure out how I have to set up the parameters to get the function to work? I have no idea how this should be done, although I read some tutorials.
    Thanks for your help!

    Thomander

  • How to document your star-schemas and dashboards?

    Hello practitioners,
We are new to OBIEE and started some weeks ago. We are a two-men team. One guy doing all the data design and the other for everything around Answers.
So it happens regularly that the other guy has to ask the one guy, about the exact definition and meaning of data-fields, he wants to use in Answers.
Being a real programmer the one guy only needs a proper, self-explainary field name as documentation, of course (or so he thought).
    Question:
What tools and methods do you use to document the star-schemas and dashboards?
Being the other guy, it is important, that I pick the correct fields, while on the other hand I do not want to disect a dashboard I built a while back, everytime somebody wants something simular, just to figure out what I actually did, back then...
    Thank you for your help

    Hi Turalf,
Have you looked at the OBIEE Metadata Dictionary ? A method to allow answers users to gain access to column definitions, and you can view the mapping from Presentation, through BMM to Physical layer.
Im pretty sure you can expose comments from the RPD into this also.
    http://obiee101.blogspot.com/2008/12/obiee-metadata-dictionary.html
Maybe you could look at the ODI - OBIEE data lineage also, it provides "report to source" mapping info :

    Hope this helps.

  • Sharing and displaying Excel and pdf documents in SAP BO Mobile

    Hello all,
I have one quick question. Is it possible to share excel and pdf documents through SAP BO Mobile?
I tried it uploading documents to BO Launch pad and assigning them to Mobile category. I can't see them in my ipad. Is there another way to share these kind of files through SAP Mobile in mobile devices? and how?
    Thanks.

No that won't do it. Because my users have their own excels which are not related to BO or BW platforms. They are entering data manually to excel spreadsheets and reporting. We just want to upload them to BO platform and let them share those files with other users.
I know I could create a webi report on top of excel, but we don't want to spend redoing the reports in excel.
    Thanks though.

  • When will the SAP Mobile BI Android SDK to embed analytic views (Web Intelligence reports and Dashboards) in custom mobile Android App be supported/

    hi all,
SAP Mobile BI IOS SDK provides such SDK to embed analytic views (Web Intelligence reports and Dashboards) supported by the SAP BI application inside your own custom mobile applications, while Android SDK does not provide such sdk. I would like to know if there is any plan or roadmap to support this interface in Android SDK?

Thank you Vishwanath for your reply. We already developed an Android App, and just want to embed and open SAP BO report directly inside our own App, instead of launching SAP Mobile BI App.

  • Scorecards and Dashboards

    Scorecards and Dashboards
According to Harvard Business Review, Balanced Scorecard concept is the most influential management idea in the past 75 years.
The performance of an organization is tracked against four key perspectives such as Finance, Customers, Internal Processes and finally Learning, Innovation and Growth. These perspectives are divided into multiple sets of Key Performance Indicators ( KPIs ) and grouped against these perspectives and further broken from top level to the employee level KPIs. World over companies are moving towards implementing enterprise wide organizational Balanced Scorecard.
Simplicity, personalization and empowerment are the keys while building Agent Dashboards. These goals are achieved through the application of Business Intelligence ( BI ) concepts. A contact center performance is an aggregation of every agent performance.
An Agent should be able to customize and get the unified view of the aggregated metrics and track them on daily basis. How much he has achieved with respect to target? How his performance benchmarked with respect to overall call center performance. Is there performance improvement over a period of time? He can drill down and see which particular KPI is bringing his overall score down and he can see how he has or has not been able to improve his performance over a period of time.
A Supervisor should be able to see how agents under him are performing. His Dashboard should show an aggregated score of all his agents and simultaneously showing tabular information of comparative scores of all agents working under him. He can drill down on agent score who are not performing well. He can see individual KPIs of agents and study whether there are improvements over a period of time under the respective KPI.
Manager would like to see dashboards of aggregated scores of supervisors on weekly basis rather than daily basis. He can drill down till agent’s individual KPI level if he desires. A manager could also drill down against different channels and see the performance of different supervisors under different channels.
Call Center head would like to see the aggregated performance of his senior managers and across channels and will be interested to track performance against KPIs on monthly basis. He can drill down from manager level right up to the agent level and their individual KPIs to see where the actual pains are located.
Quality Managers would like to see how agents are performing against quality related KPIs. He would further like to analyze poor performing KPIs against type of service requests, type of channel and may be against important set of clients so that specific training programs could be designed for specific sets of agents rather than a plane blanket approach where every one is trained for everything.
In all the performance metrics could be analyzed against multiple dimensions such as channels customers, type of services, location etc. Users down the line are empowered to analyze the data and able to get operational and strategic insights. Hundreds of variants of Dashboards and Reports could be created from a simple single user friendly interactive interface
All above could be simply achieved through web browser and single user interactive interface. Every person in the organization can personalize the dashboard or reports from this single user interface. The power of analysis is coupled into the reporting and dashboard. It is this Business Intelligence capability that creates the unique customer experience in getting the insights of business.

  • How to external browse SolMan KPIs and get SolMan notifcations Externally

    Hello,
Is there away to do the following from SolMan via APIs or other to access the below SolMan information externally?
    1. 800 KPIs from Solman, API to browse list,  Select and item then import to get the KPI names, Metadata(name, value type, Associated SAP module)  There must be some ways to get the information via an API or other
    2. Also, ways to get the values associated the live data associated with the KPIs,changes to KPIs, alerts based on KPIs, KPI value changes etc.,   I would think there are API that allow that and from my understanding that is all kept in Solman.
The idea is to take those SAP KPIs and combine with KPIs in other parts of a customers environment that come from non-SAP sources to create an overall dashboard.
    Thanks

    Hi
Not sure for API available as standard from solution manager, but you can check out in Solution manager configuraition work center -> measurement platform setup
check here Working with the Continuous Improvement App - SAP Solution Manager - SAP Library
SAP itself provide well defined reporting with couple of services like  service level reporting and business process monitoring,
Try with these, whether would solve your requirement,
    Thanks

  • Purchase Order and GR document Output Determination and creating own logo o

Can anyone let me know the process of output determination of PO and GR documents.
Also let me know the way to incorporate my own logo on the documents

    Hi sudip
For the logo on documents, you have to take help of ABAP ppl.
    Output of Purchase Order
    1. Condition Table
SPRO > Material Management> Purchasing -> Message -> Output Control->Condition Tables->Define Condition Table for Purchase Order
    Select:
    Purchasing Doc. Type,
    Purch. Organization,
    Vendor
    2. Access Sequences
SPRO -> Material Management-> Purchasing -> Message -> Output Control->Access Sequences->Define Condition Table for Purchase Order
    3. Message Type
SPRO -> Material Management-> Purchasing -> Message -> Output Control->Message Types->Define Message Type for Purchase Order
    *4. Message Determination Schemas*
    4.1. Message Determination Schemas
SPRO -> Material Management-> Purchasing -> Message -> Output Control->Message Schema->Define Message Schema for Purchase Order-> Maintain Message Determination Schema
4.2. Assign Schema to Purchase Order
SPRO -> Material Management-> Purchasing -> Message -> Output Control->Message Schema->Define Message Schema for Purchase Order-> Assign Schema to Purchase Order
    5. Partner Roles per Message Type
SPRO -> Material Management-> Purchasing -> Message -> Output Control-> Partner Roles per Message Type ->Define Partner Role for Purchase Order
    6. Condition Record
    Navigation Path: SAP Menu-> Logistics -> Material Management -> Purchasing-> Master data->Messages-> Purchase Order-> MN04-> Create
Now you create PO (ME21N) and save it. Go to ME22N and print the PO by giving output type.
    Output of GR
After setting table, access sequence and output type for GR,run MB02 transaction, enter material document number. Double click one line item and select messages. Separate screen will be opened to configure outputs. Give the required fields and save the document.
Now Run MB90, you can take printout. Output Type: WE03 or WE01 or WE02

  • Old SD and MM documents shall be deleted on productive server

We have the situation that the same SD and MM documents sitting on two different productive servers. This is caused due to the migration from 4.0B to 4.7 some years ago. Some of our companies were kept on 4.0B with SD and MM enviroment on a separate server and the other companies were transfered to a new server. At that ttime the new server was build as copy from the old 4.0B server and then migrated.
For the migration to ERP6.0 we like to clean up the current productive server. During the preparation we noticed that the old SD and MM documents don't fit into the new management requirements. Therefore we woudl like to get rid of it. Problem is that we will not archive these documents. Furthermore there a lot of open purchase and sales orders that can't be closed.
Question: Does anybody have a solution how we can delete all of these SD and MM documents before we migrate the server to ERP6.0?
    Thanks

I would use the System Landscape Optimization service for that purpose, they can provide you with tools to do those "merging" of two systems.
