SAP BPC - Dimension disappears during processing

For some reason my dimension file (the excel file in the adminapp folder) disappears from the server during processing.
I get this error:
The server was unable to process request. --> could not find file "installationdirectory\AdminApp\account.xls"
Why does this happen and how do I solve this?

Hi,
We had the same problem in BPC 5.1 SP2.
I'm not sure that I'm right but I think it has something to do with the Save to server.
Normally this takes only 1 or 2 seconds, but sometimes it's taking much longer and when you start processing your dimension when it's still saving the dimension, it's deleting the xls file on the server, I had it 3 times.
Now I wait long enough before I process my dimensions and I didn't had the problem anymore.
I didn't log the problem because it's almost impossible to simulate the problem.

  • SAP BPC 7.0 Installation : Processing of dimension

    Hi All,
i have installed the SAP BPC 7.0 M , after installation i am able to create application set , application , set security and full optimise the application.
but when i try to process dimesnionm i get the following error.
" there is no data in Mbr table : Processing fail".
but in the excel sheet we have dimesnionmembers

What if you have this issue on 7.0M SP4 and you're still on SQL Server 2005?
I'll be less than impressed if someone tells me to upgrade to 2008 as well.

  • SAP BPC installation - Errors during setup in the create database step

Hi! I have a real big problem installing SAP BPC. It's a Microsoft multi-server installation.
I've got two servers: 1) the database server with the SQL Database and Analysis Server 2) the application server with all the rest.
I log on and I installed everything on the servers with a specific domain user: this user is administrator on both servers and even on SQL Server.
My problem occours when I execute the "SAP BPC setup" on the application server: during the "create database" step I receive two errors:
    first error pop-up:
Error ([SQL-DMO]This cache contains no result sets, or the current result set contains no rows.)
    second error pop-up:
System.Data.SqlClient.SqlException: Cannot open database "ApShell" requested by the login. The login failed. Login failed for user MyDomain\MyUser
    After the SAP BPC setup:
    - in the SQL Database Engine the ApShell database was created
    - nothing for ApShell was created in Analysis Sever
    - in the Even Viewer of the database server I've got this error: Login failed for user 'MyDomain\MyUser'.
It's very strange because if from the application server, using "SQL Server Management Studio" (always with 'MyDomain\MyUser'), I connect to the database server: I can login, create and delete databases on the SQL Database Engine and even on Analysis Server without any sort of problem.
To complete my status, I can say you Analysis Sever is on the default port. I use SQL Server 2005 and I even tryed to reinstall it and SAP BPC but nothing change.
At this point I checked these two topics on this forum:
Mulit-Server Install - Installation fails while creating AppServer Database
    Problem during BPC installation
    1) At first I tryied this solution:
Into multiserver installation guide is specified that actually in case of multiserver environment you have to copy apshell.db9 file from installation kit into db server. Into a drive from where SQL server is able to read when you are doing restore with Management Studio.
During the installation you have to go into advance options and to specified the path (local path from db server where you did the copy of apshell.db9).
but nothing change: the "SAP BPC setup" problem I have still persists.
    2) Then I tryed this workaround:
If so, you can try a "restore appset" from server manager. Rename the Apshell.db9 file (or copy it) and name it Apshell.bak
During server manager restore, point only to the Apshell.bak file. Server Manager will tell you that webfolders and filedb files are missing, but it found the webfolders and filedb (again, only if the original bpc installation successfully created those folders)- and then it will try to restore Apshell.
That may work in spite of whatever problem is keeping the installation program from performing the same tasks.
but the "restore database" fails > I've got the error written in red: OLAP database - fail
What can I do to solve the problem? If it is necessary, I can reinstall SQL Server and SAP BPC but I need to know the way to solve the setup error.
Thanx very much in advance for your kindness if you can help me.

Thanx very much to everyone for the kind support. Unfortunatly, my problem persists.
    - SQL server is EE.
    - I installed SQL server (including SSAS) using MyDomain\MyUser.
    - MyDomain\MyUser is windows administrator on both servers.
    - MyDomain\MyUser is SQL Server and SSAS administrator.
    - SSAS service is running under the same service account than the SQL Service.
    - All my MSSQL services runs as Local System.
    - I'm installing SAP BPC using MyDomain\MyUser.
    - I also checked the SSAS service account specific rights to the SSAS data folders.
SAP BPC installation still fails exactly as above (popup errors during SAP BPC setup, no ApShell etc. etc).
In the database server, windows event viewer errors after the unsuccessful installation are:
    1) SOURCE: MSSQLSERVER
Failure Audit: Login failed for user MyDomain\MyUser
    2) SOURCE: MSSQLSERVER
BackupDiskFile::OpenMedia: Backup device 'MyPath' failed to open. Operating system error 5(Access is denied.).
As regard as point 1: The Failure Audit error into the event viewer happens only during SAP BPC installation. Otherwise it is always Success Audit.
Also, as I told you, if from the application server I connect with SQL Server console to SSAS, located on the database server, using MyDomain\MyUser: I can create delete SSAS dbs without any sort of problem.
    For point 2:
I tried 4 differents SAP BPC installations as follows:
    - to go into advance options and to specified the path (local path from db server where I did the copy of apshell.db9).
    - to go into advance options and to specified the path (local path from application server where is the copy of apshell.db9).
    - to go into advance options and to specified the path (network path of a share folder with apshell.db9 and permissions to everyone)
    - to don't go into advance options and to don't specify the path.
but every time nothing change: the "SAP BPC setup" problem I have during my initial post still persists. In the same way I written at the beginning of the topic.
I don't know how to solve it.

  • Everything I download to iPad via iTunes disappears during "Processing".  Restrictions disabled. Tried the Star Trek Into Darkness soundtrack and the Star Trek (2009) film. Same for each. Plenty of space available, the largest newest gen iPad.

I recently purchased the most recent iPad.  I bought the one with the most storage available, wifi only.  I'm unable to download any iTunes purchases as they just disappear during the "Processing" portion of the download.  I've tried this with the Star Trek Into Darkness soundtrack and the Star Trek (2009) film.  All files behave the same way.  Restrictions are currently not enabled.  I can't figure out why it's doing this.  Please help?

I have seen this on my iPad but it is usually with synced music. I know I have songs on the iPad but when I start tapping on the various tabs at the bottom of the app, I get the no Music message. Really quite annoying.
If I quit the Music app from the recents tray and restart the music usually shows up - because it's really ther and should show up! Not to be redundant, but did you try doing a spotlight search! Swipe to the right from your first home screen to get to the search feature. Or do you look in Settings>General>Storage>Usage and check to see if music is accounted for in there?
The only other thing that I can think of to try would be to reboot your router and see if that helps. Unplug it for about 30 seconds.

  • Formula in SAP BPC dimension with father

    Hi,
    I have a problem with dimension's formula.
    I have,for example, the DimName.h1.A1+DimName.h1.A2 formula, where A1 is a father member.
Do you konw how I can write this formula?
    Thanks
    Claudia

How many hierarchies do you have?
If the base member and parent member are in your H1 hierarchy, then your formula must look like this:
    Hir1([P_ACCT].[H1].[TEST])+Hir1([P_ACCT].[H1].[CE0001000])
Hir1 is a function referenced in the MDXLIB.LGL library file (located in ..\Webfolders\<APSET NAME>\SystemLibrary\Logic Library )
Make sure you have the MDXLIB.LGL defined in the OPTIONS worksheet of your account dimension
If you have 2 hierarchies, the Hir1 function should look like this:
    *Function Hir1(%Arg%)
         iif(AccountDim.H2.CurrentMember is [AccountDim].[H2].[All AccountDim.H2],%Arg%,Null)
    *endfunction
If you have 3 hierarchies, the Hir1 function should look like this:
    *Function Hir1(%Arg%)
         iif(AccountDim.H2.CurrentMember is [AccountDim].[H2].[All AccountDim.H2] and AccountDim.H3.CurrentMember is [AccountDim].[H3].[All AccountDim.H3],%Arg%,Null)
    *endfunction
    Thanks,

  • SAP BPC 7.5: Master Data and Hierachiy Load from InfoObject

    Hallo Forum Participants,
I am going to load Master Data from a "Clarity" Reporting Tool in BW to SAP BPC 7.5 via Process Chains (/CPMB/IMPORT_IOBJ_MASTER, /CPMB/IMPORT_IOBJ_HIER) delivered from SAP.
These Process Chains load the Master Data and Hierarchies from an InfoObject. To find out more about Ticking of BPC I have performed a following test. So, on BPC Admin Interface I have duplicated the Dimension u201CAu201D and called it as Dimension u201CBu201D (in BW site InfoObject u201CAu201D and u201CBu201D). In the Member Sheet of Dimension u201CBu201D I have implemented the several changes und tried to load Master Data from BW namely from infoObject u201CBu201D into BPC Dimension u201CAu201D. Therefor I created a transformation file and mapped one for one IDu2019s. The data Manager started these chains, but resulted nothing (Status: red X).
What are the features of BPC InfoObjects in Comparision with regular InfoObject?
How can I load Hierarchies into InfoObject?
What else I must take into account?
Why does not work this simple test?
    Regards.

    Hallo pkrishna,
so it is successed with master data load, but without hierachiies.
My Master Data Properties on Dimension Sheet are:
    -ID
    -EVDESCRIPTION
    -PARENTH1
    -CURRENCY
    I have mapped as below:
    ID=ID
    CURRENCY=/CPMB/CURR
/CPMB/CURR- my technical id in BW.
In the Note you advised transformation file has been mapped like below:
    -NODENAME=NODENAME
    -HIER_NAME=HIER_NAME
    -PARENT=PARENT
    -ORDER=ORDER
After executing of package i get whether rejected list or log file. No data can be retirieved from InfoObject.
    Have you any Idea?

  • SAP BPC doesnt process dimensions, but it shows that was successful

    Hello Experts,
We are using SAP BPC 7.0M SP7 with the StarterKit. When we try to process a dimension, it finishes in step 1 of 4, and software says that it was successful, but in BPC Excel we cant show the changes in our dimension, so its not processing anything. Also it doesnt show any info about the process. It also happens in the original IFRS (Application set of the StarterKit), not only in our customized application set.
Any idea about how we can solve it?
    Best Regards,
    Juan

    Hello,
You can take a look at mbrDimension Name within the database to see if it has been added. You can run a query for the member ID to verify that it's been added.
In any event, please let us know.

  • How to use the RateEntity dimension in SAP BPC?

    Hello everbody,
I am implementing a consolidation process using SAP BPC. I want to use the RateEntity dimension, to translate a same currency into different exchange rates depending on the company.
I want the company which ID is GFU (which is from Brazil) in LegalEntity dimension is converted using a special exchange rate. I have added a GFU member in RateEntity dimension, and I have entered the exchange rates for the member GFU and for the member Global in RateEntity dimension.
But the problem is that after I run the FX Restatement package, converted data for this company is not the proper one, because Global exchange rates have been used instead of GFU exchange rates. Does anybody know why? Do I have to do anything else?
Thank you very much for your time

  • Custom Process Types not working in SAP BPC 10.0

    Hi Experts,
We have migrated from SAP BPC 7.5 NW to SAP BPC 10.0 NW.
We have three Custom Process Types created in BPC 7.5NW using the super class CL_UJD_SIMPLE_ACTOR as super class.
It has been made Obsolete and Final class in BPC 10.0NW and the Custom Process types are not running as expected.
Can you please suggest if there is any alternative for using the existing custom process types? Or do we have any alternative for creating custom process types?
*Note: We have tried replacing the superclass with CL_UJD_ACTOR instead of CL_UJD_SIMPLE_ACTOR but of no use.

    Hi Inl,
The statement looks fine, just confirm:
Your CATEGORY dimension is named CATEGORY? Is it really has property COMPARISOIN?

  • Background process of SAP BPC 7.5 or 7.0 NetWeaver or MicroSoft version

    Hi Experts,
I am new to SAP BPC NetWeaver. I want to know u2026.
While creating a dimension or an application in BPC 7.5 or 7.0 NetWeaver or MicroSoft Version, what process is going on background, like what tables or what objects are created in SAP BI 7.0 or in MS SQL Server?
    Appreciate your help.
    Regards
    Raja

    Hi Experts,
I am new to SAP BPC NetWeaver. I want to know u2026.
While creating a Characteristic InfoObject for Master Data in SAP NetWeaver BW. It creates
    /BIC/P<InfoObject Name>          P table or Attribute Table
    /BIC/T<InfoObject Name>          Text Table
    /BIC/H<InfoObject Name>          Hierarchy Table
/BIC/M<InfoObject Name>          View of P Table or Attribute Table
    /BIC/S<InfoObject Name>          SID Table
    /BIC/K<InfoObject Name>
/BIC/I<InfoObject Name>          Maintain Parent Child relationship
    My query is:
Does this SAP BPC 10 or 7.5 or 7.0 NW dimension, which is equivalent to an InfoObject in SAP BW creates the same tables in the background in SAP BW.
An InfoCube of SAP BW is connected with the Dimension Table. This Dimension Table is connected with the SID Table. This SID Table is connected with the Characteristic, which is connected with Attribute Table, Text Table, and Hierarchy Table. Does this SAP BPC 10 or 7.5 or 7.0 NW cube follow the same structure.
    Appreciate your help.

  • ABAP  dump during workstatus chaning in SAP BPC 7.5

    Hi, Experts
We are working with SAP BPC 7.5 Ramp-up version. We faced a problem - during changing workstatus the system generates ABAP Dump.
We checked ST22 with ABAP Dumps. It contains the following:
    What happened?
Error in the ABAP Application Program
The current ABAP program "CL_UJW_WORK_STATUS_DAO========CP" had to be
         terminated because it has
come across a statement that unfortunately cannot be executed.
ABAP errors are created in the following code:
    FIELD-SYMBOLS:
            <fs_line> TYPE ANY.
      CREATE DATA lr_line TYPE (i_tabname).
      ASSIGN lr_line->* to <fs_line>.
      l_where = 'APPSET = i_appset'. "#EC NOTEXT
      LOOP AT it_dim_mem INTO ls_dim_mem.
        CONCATENATE
          l_where ' AND ' ls_dim_mem-dimension ' = ''' ls_dim_mem-member ''''
          INTO l_where RESPECTING BLANKS.
      ENDLOOP.
*SELECT SINGLE * INTO CORRESPONDING FIELDS OF es_lock_info FROM (i_tabname) WHERE (l_where).*
    *  fill lock information
      CLEAR ls_ujw_statcode.
      CALL METHOD me->read_status_code(
                   EXPORTING i_appset = i_appset
                             i_status = es_lock_info-status
                             i_spras  = 'E'
                   IMPORTING es_ujw_statcode =  ls_ujw_statcode ).
ABAP dump says that in "SELECT SINGLE * INTO CORRESPONDING FIELDS OF es_lock_info FROM (i_tabname) WHERE (l_where).*"  exist a dynamically specified column name which is unknown.
Does somebody have the same problems?
    Regards,
    Pavel

    Hi Pavel,
This is obviously a bug and it looks like from the code block you copied into the forum that there is an issue with the actual select statements dynamic where clause. I haven't specifically seen this bug but I recommend you do an SAP Note search on the following component EPM-BPC-NW-WS (for work status) in your search criteria put the class name that you found in the dump. This should help you find whether or not a correction has been created (i.e. an SAP note) that solves your issue.
    Cheers, Scott

  • Why not displayed new member in dimension sap bpc?

    Good day guys
    I have the following problem:
Add new members to a dimension but not displayed.
example: DIMENSION(inputcurrency) added MEMBER: MXN (Mexican Pesos); when I excel interface I can not see the new member, before this process the dimension and active AppSet.
    that could be?
    Use SAP BPC 7.5 SP8

    Hi Bish,
Without processing a dimension the data should no go to the database. If you modify the the dimension and you want those new members in report you have to process that dimension. And if you save that dimension after modification its save the members in application sever. while retrieving the data it pick up from the database layer not from application layer, So the on fly calculation are  stored in application layer( Like conversion files, Transformation files, script logics and Member formulas). So if you want the new members in report you have to process. Its by SAP design it self.
After modification of dimension no need to logoff and login every time. In order to avoid that option we have a anothe solution that is  Activate Metadata Cache option.
In order to use that go to EPM--> User OPtions---> Activate metadata Option
You can clear the metadata cache. When the cache is cleared, the structure of the data source you are connected to is synchronized with the structure copied locally; which means that the members of dimensions that have been added, modified or deleted in the data source are loaded.
For more details related to  Metadata option go to the EPM 10 Office Addin User Guide document which is available in google free of cost

  • SAP BPC 7.5 NW SP15 - Dimension member descriptions are missing

    Hi Expert,
We are using SAP BPC 7.5 NW SP 15, we use admin and client in spanish language see image attached
All users see through BPC CLIENT for Excel in spanish mode both ID and descriptions but when we added new user it can´t, just it can see ID member. We refresh Dim Cache member from client side but nothing happens.
We reprocess All dimensions through BPC Admin Client in spanish mode and doesn´t have any efect in dimension description?
is there any issue with this?
please give an advice to follow,
    Thanks for your answer.
    regards.

    Hi Roberto,
    thanks for your anwser
We checked though BW and saw it that long descriptions were set in Spanish language key which is the same language as BPC for Excel was openend.
As solution we checked at UJA3_USER_LANGU table, we notice that users in which descriptions are missing were registered in English language, therefore we deleted this user and its language and then was recreated those users through BPC ADMIN client.
    Thank you,
    Giovanni
