  • Do we have solutions in SAP ERP addressing IFRIC 1?

    IFRIC 1 address the rules for decomissioning, restoration and similar liabilities. I was questioned quite a few times by our APJ customers whether SAP ERP Financial could address this requirement. Do we have a definite answer for this and what details in our solutions could address this requirement? Thank you very much!

    ECC 6 can adequatly address this requirement.
    All you need to do this is develop scenarios and for each scenarios you should come with a solution.
    In generic terms,Decomissioning, restoration and similar liabilities are the values that need to be added or subtracted from the Related assets.Here the liabilities should be discounted using risk adjusted rates;then reduce this amount from the Asset value.
    The solution:
    1] discount the liabilty.This is done outside SAP.
    2] Reduce this from the Asset value.Done in SAP.
    3] If you have already made a provision in the Balalnce sheet,then this should be transferred to the related asset.This is done in SAP.
    4] Appropriately adjust the depreciation.Done in SAP.

    Any idea how we can get the SAP business process maps for mySAP ECC6.0?  Is this imbedded in Solution Manager?

    I suppose you are looking for the solution maps for mySAP ERP (which contains SAP ECC as a component). These maps are not contained in the SAP Solution Manager, but they are delivered with the SAP Solution Composer, an offline PC tool which allows you to browse and pre-scope your own solution (evaluating your solution). The tool itself including the latest solution map content is always available for download at the SAP Service Marketplace:

  • Cook book / Solution Map for doing "VMI with APO" ?

    Hello experts,
    we are planning to implement VMI and want to use our SCM50. I'm looking for a little "cook book" or even an SAP solution map which sort of guides through the required settings in APO (and R3). Main focus is to plan replenishment to a customer location from our DC using SNP heuristic and run Deployment / TLB to create the replenishment customer orders in R3. The stock at customer side is non-consigned - so no consignment involved.
    One specific question is how would you create the location products for SNP at customer location side since such cannot be CIFed etc. Manually is no option in case of roughly 3000 products at 4 Customer locations.

    In general, the ERP master data objects plant, customer, vendor, shipping point, etc. are
    transferred as locations.  They differ from each other through their respective location types.
    In SAP R/3 Customizing you assign a node type to the plant, for example, a plant or
    distribution center. To do this, choose Production > Distribution Resource Planning (DRP) >
    Basic Settings > Maintain assignment of node type u2013 plant. By doing this you define the
    location type in SAP APO to which the plant defined in SAP R/3 corresponds.
    If you want to transfer a large number of customers, you create transportation zones in
    which you group multiple customers. The transportation zone is mapped as a location in
    SAP APO with the location type 1005 (transportation zone). You assign the customers
    to the transportation zone using a hierarchy.
    In CFM1, once your selection criteria are entered and upon execution, check whether
    the customer location is getting picked up.

  • Oracle 10g RAC installation on HP-UX 11.31 for SAP ERP 6.04

    Dear experts,
    We are trying to install SAP ERP 6.0 EHP4 with Oracle 10g RAC on HP-UX 11.31. Please note that, We are using VERITAS cluster filesystem (CFS) for this purpose and not HP-UX ServiceGuard ClusterFileSystem.
    *As per SAP procedure, we have installaed plain plain SAP system with single instance Oracle (ref: Configuration of SAP NetWeaver for Oracle Database 10gRAC guide). Now we are first trying to install Oracle Clusterware (CRS) and then we will install Oracle RAC software. Is this procedure right?*
    Which file (and its path) we have to use for CRS installation and its patch? Is it runInstaller under /oracle/stage/102_64/clusterware? With this file we can install CRS 10.2.0.1. Similarly for Oracle RAC, which files we are supposed to use, i.e for installation and patch upgrade?
    Also can we use clusterware package available from Oracle directly in the SAP environment?
    We tried to install CRS with runInstaller while running Configuration Assistant after root.sh script.
    The following commands are failing in Configuration Assistant:
    /oracle/CRS/102_64/bin/racgons add_config erpprdd1:4948 erpprdd2:4948
    /oracle/CRS/102_64/bin/oifcfg setif -global  lan1/20.20.20.0:cluster_interconnect lan0/192.168.3.0:public
    /oracle/CRS/102_64/bin/cluvfy stage -post crsinst -n erpprdd1,erpprdd2
    1st command does not give any output if run manually.
    2nd commands o/p: PRIF-12: failed to initialize cluster support services
    3rd commands fails in every check
    Please suggest the solution and expecting answers to the above mentioned questions.

    I am a FI consulant and now i would like to know the functionalities avialable in SAP ERP 6.0 EHP4 and SAP ERP 6.0 EHP5. So i request you to pleasae check and provide me answers to the below points for my understanding
    1. What are the new functionalities added in SAP ERP 6.0 EHP4 on SAP FI side.
    2. What are the new functionalities added in SAP ERP 6.0 EHP5 on SAP FI side.Finally what is difference between EHP4 and EHP5, i mean in the point of SAP FI functioanliy.
    In the meantime, please provide me the links where i can get complete information on the new functionalities added on FI side in these Enhancement Packages (ie 4/5).

    Enhancements packages contains tens to hunderds of new or changed functionalites (called business functions). After installing an enhancement package you can activate the business functions which can be usefull to you.
    To have an idea which business function can be usefull, you can use the business function prediction. Based on the (FI) transactions you use in the system, it gives an advice which business functions in an enhancement package should be activated.

  • Need suggestion on importing BC SET : UKM_DCD_CUST in SAP ERP system

    Dear Gurus,
    Client wants me to import BC SET : UKM_DCD_CUST into SAP ERP system. I have found BC SET : UKM_DCD_CUST in T code SCPR20.
    I have read most of the SCN discussion and got two way to import BC SET into ERP system as given below. But I need the appropriate way to do this. Can any one help me in this?
    1. SCPR20 -> Activate BC set -> create customizing request to import into another system as per link :Business Configuration Sets (BC Sets) and their use - Basis Corner - SCN Wiki
    2. Create TR in SE01 in 000 and import into required client  as per below proc:
    Usual procedure
    1) BC SETS will be attached to SAP note usually. Download it and unzip it , you will get a *.bcs file
    2) Call transaction SCPR20  BC set --> Upload In the dialog box that then appears, specify the files that you unpacked
    Import the set BC into a package that you have defined. activate it with the "Expert mode"
    3) You will also get a *.txt file with prog id , obj etc entries , then you have to go to SE09 and create a transport request in the source client of your Solution Manager system (client 000). Open the *.txt and copy the entries it contains into the transport request. Use transaction SCC1 to import the data in your Solution Manager client(s)

    2). Client copies bring the Customization data but not WorkBench . So you might have to do transport of copies from Old Dev to >New Dev.
    So you are saying that the system copy from Production will not bring Workbench data and I need to bring Workbench data by transports?
    *system copy from Production will bring Workbench data also, but when you do client copy from development system again on top of client which already has production customization, data and workbench requests, Production customization and data will be overwritten from development customization and data (it depends on the profile you choose for the client copy) *
    However  Development Workbench requests are more and also has ongoing development work which might not be available in production client and those (Ongoing development workbench requests) you need to import in new system as transport of copies after the client copy
    3). If you do system copy from Production and do client copy from dev...obviously Prod customization will be overwritten with Dev rite ?
    That's what I expect to happen,
    Ok, however, You might need to get Development Work too from the old dev system and don't forget about setting up of partner profiles in WE20.
    It's just a thought ,  Do you have testing client in Dev, if not,You can leave the production client in development system and use it as testing client.

  • Planning Disaster Recovery Site for SAP ERP ECC 6.0

    Dear All,
    I am planning for DR ( Disaster Recovery ) Site. Our current environment is
    Production Site
    OS        : AIX 5.3
    DB        : IBM DB2      version 8.2
    SAP      : SAP ERP 6.0 ECC 6
    Disaster Recovery Site
    OS        : AIX 6.1
    DB        : IBM DB2      version 9.5
    SAP      : SAP ERP 6.0 ECC 6
    I have following confusion in planning the solution.
    1 - If I export the data at db level from production site and import that data in DR Site ...  than DR Site will be equivalent to Production Site or not.
    2 - if answer of point 1 is yes then for SAP DR ...  HADR is the best solution or there is any other better solution exist.

    Hello Syed,
    If you export from the prod db and import into the disastor recover db then they will be the same provided that SAP environment is all the same. I would recommend that you update the prod side to the same db2 release and fixpack level as soon as possible though as 9.5 (or even better 9.7) has some advanced features that make administration alot easier and save much space.
    HADR would be the best setup for disaster recovery in db6 environment.

  • Logical Component SAP ERP lost

    Hello,
    after patching the Solution Manager EHP1 to SPS23, logical component SAP ERP is lost.
    in Transaktion smsy Landscape Component - Systems -> the Product SAP ERP is also lost.
    strange i can´t see any system that was registred under this component, but i can release patches for all my ERP System by using Transaktion Solution Manager.

    Hi,
    You may require Oracle Financial Server with a OPM - this will do serve both the purposes manufacturing and or will serve your financial needs as well. There could be customizations that may be required per your industry but that should not be much in case you do not want to have an interfacing between Oracle and other softwares that you may already be running.
    Please also invite Oracle to your company for a presentation so that you can sit back and see how gaps can be filled between Oracle and your current business process.
    You can opt for SAP as well but the cost is gonna play a major role when you will sit back and decide about the product.
    A suggestion:
    If you are implementing an ERP Solution please go ahead with a mindset that you also would be looking to bring process improvements in different business areas that you run. Investment on a large scale is a waste if it doesnt help you to improve your business processes and activities. Many companies do not plan this when they are implementing an ERP solution.
