SAP LSO system to XI Integration

Hi Experts,
Currently i am working on SAP LSO system integration with External system(Skill soft) using PI.
Has anyone successfully used standard LSO XI services to integrate with external Learning vendors?Could you please give me the steps or let me know how you implemented the scenario( SAP LSO system--> XI -- > Web service).

I am working on a similar scenario of LSO integration with Skillsoft via PI. I have already referred the PDF XI Configuration for SkillSoft Integration.
The flow of interface in my scenario is
Portal(FrontEnd) <-> ECC(BSP Application at Backend) <-> PI <---> External Learning Vendor(SkillSoft).
1) Commnication is from SAP LSO System to Third Party(Skill Soft) through PI(XI).
2) It will be synchronous call.
3 ) From portal user should be able to register, book,Lauch, or Track the course and will get response back to SAP LSO system/portal from Skill Soft.
4) Portal is the frontend and backend is the BSP application(HCM_Learning).
Can you please let me know the details how to handle this scenario and pass the parameters like customerid, assetid,courseid etc to PI(XI). Also let me know what would be the best approach to follow in this scenario..Is there any BAPI / RFC available for this scenario.
Please guide me how to pass data(like customerid, learnerid...etc) to PI from Once the user clicks to register/book/launch the course

I am looking for some information on SAP LSO and PLATO Learning integration.
I would appreciate if some one could thro light on how to integrate SAP LSO with PLATO and what is the possibility of tracking the courses in LSO that are taken through PLATO.
For example if an employee of the company access a course on PLATO, then the tracking(Like what time the course is started, exited and duration of the course etc.) should be captured in LSO.

Here i am talking about a direct integration with PLATO using XI. The user of the LSO may be redirected to PLATO and does his/her course or the content from PLATO will be downloaded into LSO and played for the user.
In either case i want to know the possibility of tracking the complete course.

SAP LSO - Time Mgmt integration

Iu2019m working in a SAP environment where are managed companies in more countries and all companies are using SAP Learning Solution (ECC6.00 EhP4).
We are introducing a new country A, in which is managed company X, having 3 personnel subarea (PS1, PS2, PS3). In country A we are introducing SAP Time Management module too, to be integrated with SAP Learning Solution.
Since PS3 has a different mgmt in Time, we have defined 2 PS groupings, one for PS1 and PS2, and the other for PS3.
For the 2 PS groupings, we customized 2 attendance reasons for training:
0110 u2013 Training as attendee
0111 u2013 Training as instructor
Even if we have 2 different PS grouping, we need to maintain the same coding for absence and attendance reasons.
The integration SAP LSO and Time Mgmt has been activated and itu2019s perfectly working.
Unluckily, the requirement of the company X is to receive automatically attendance records from SAP LSO for the employees belonging to PS1 and PS2, but not to PS3, because all attendances and absences of employees in PS3 are coming via interface from an external system.
We canu2019t filter the 2 attendance reasons coming from this interface, because not all type of training is managed in SAP.
My questions are:
1. Do you know if it is possible to disable the SAP LSO integration for PS3? How can I do that?
2. There will be technical problem for countries not managing Time solution? Will SAP LSO try to send attendance records to Time also for these countries? How can I avoid that?

PI Integration between SAP ERP system and Cloud for Customer

Hi,
We have set up integration between Cloud for Customer tenant and our SAP ERP system via PI.
For performing initial load, when we try to activate change pointers for Message types in the SALE transaction, we don't find the MATMAS_CFS and DEBMAS_CFS in the ERP system(IDES ECC 6.0 EhP6).
CODERINT 600(SP1 &2) are installed and BC set COD_BYD_ERP_INT is activated in the system.
Could anyone let us know what are we missing here, so that we can get the message types.
Also we tried using Message type MATMAS for sending a message from ERP to Cloud for Customer. In PI message monitoring, the status shows as 'Processed successfully', however we do not find the message in Business Communication Monitoring in the Cloud system. neither do we see the Business Object created for that Material master.
Please let me know how to debug such a scenario.

Sender is IDOC so no need to take any communication channel & sender agreement in ID window.

SAP LSO: Validation of system (Pharma Industrie)

Good morning everyone,
I am currently implementing SAP LSO within a global template for a Pharma company. They want to validate the LSO part, but not the global template (PA, OM, etc.). Does anyone know if it would be acceptable from a validation perspective if we have LSO on a different system (validated) and connected via ALE to Core SAP HCM (not validated)? Does Core SAP HCM need to be then validated as well?

We are also in the process of validating LSO for compliance perspective. Our HR department is working with outside FDA compliance consultants and the direction we have got so far is , we need to only validate LMS, not core HR.
But, it is always a good idea to check with FDA consultants before going ahead.

Steps for Email integration in sap crm system?

Please guide me the steps for email integration so that the emails are in syn with the WEB UI Interaction centre.Settings at the backend GUI are already defined.Actually in my case the Development system is not integrated with Email sync in WEB UI.I need to test the email functionality in Development system as steps I have followed are as below:
1)TCode :- SBWP,then I have created a mail & send it to email address which is defined in the SO28
2)TCode :- SOST,there I have clicked on my test mail,select it & click on execute button,green light appears & shows the message that the email is successfully forwarded.
Now when I open Web Ui,select my business role & then I go to inbox in the Navigation Bar,select email & click on search.Then it does not appear anything & shows search result zero.
Kindly suggest me the steps so that I can see my test email in Dev system Web Ui business role .

SAP LSO Reports Using BI

Dear All,
We have already implemented SAP LSO on SAP EP 7.3. We have SAP R/3 ehp4 and SAP EP 7.3 on separate stack. Now we insalled BI Java components to SAP EP 7.3 and installed BI ABAP Separately.
So now we have 3 servers SAP R/3 Abap, SAP BI Abap and SAP ( EP+BI) Java.
We have all our master data, transaction data on SAP R/3 Abap. SAP R/3 Abap is integrated with SAP ( EPBI) Java. Also we created system in SAP ( EPBI) Java to access BI Abap data.
How to call BI Reports on SAP ( EP+BI) Java.?

We have implemented SAP LSO having SAP R/3 ABAP and SAP EP on separate stack. Now we added BI component to SAP EP and installed SAP BI ABAP separately. We established RFC connection between SAP R/3 ABAP (Client 300) and SAP BI ABAP (Client 350).
We have all our master and transaction data on SAP R/3 ABAP (Client 300) . Should we need to load all that in to SAP BI ABAP (Client 350).? If so, Can you please guide me through.
By the mean time, I will also refer some documents.

Basis: No service for system , client in Integration Directory??

Hi All,
IDocs from SAP QA are not being sent to PI QA. I see error in SM58 in SAP QA as: No service for system , client in Integration Directory. Please dont jump to asnwers by looking at above error. I could fix that, but thats not the real problem.
Because I have checked
1) SLD home page ---> Technical Landscape --> Select Web AS ABAP --> Select the technical system --> Clients ---> Click on the client used as Business system --> Here look for the logical system is defined (No Problem here, as logical systems is defined).
2) ID---> Click on Objects --> Service Without party/Party > Double click on business system>On the tright side--> Service --> Adapter specific Identifiers ---> Check IDoc Adpater, Logical System (No Problem here as I see Logical System).
But I can't find values R/3 System ID and Client under "IDoc Adapter and RFC Adapter". I think thats problem here, when I click on "Compare with SLD" in edit mode, values are not getting populated into R/3 System ID and Client. It makes think there is communication error from ID to SLD. How I do confirm if its the real problem?
3) Checked Note 940313 - IDoc adapter: Error messages in SM58, No problem here
4) Did SLDCHECK from PI QA, works fine, no problems here
Both PI DEV and PI QA pointing to the same SLD. When I send IDocs from SAP QA to PI DEV, everything works fine. I can't send IDoc from SAP QA to PI DEV (changed RFC des to point to PI QA, it shouldn't be a problem).
How do I find out if communication between PI QA - ID is workign fine with the SLD? Is there any other issue you can think of causing the above error?

*I have trobleshooted a similar issue. In my case also the tRFC failed with the error "No service for system SAP, client 400 in Integration Directory".There were 11 IDOCS associated with this tRFC and when I saw control record of first IDOC,in sender information ,the sender partner number was wrong.Instead of "SAPSID",it was found as just "SAP".Where as the remaining ten were maintained with correct sender partner number.remaining ten IDOCS were dependant on first one.

Data connection from SAP-R3 System to Xcelsius using Web Services

Hello Everybody,
Anyone tryed connecting data from SAP-R3 System to Xcelsius using Webservices? (created in ABAP function module)
SDN downloaded document says to Generate Webservice URL through ABAP (by creating function module) and import it in xcelsius
Data -> Add Web service connections
by giving the URL to import. After giving the web server login credentials, the error says 'Unable to load URL'
Any idea would be great help

As far as I am aware, that the type of web service required for integration it a 'normal' Netweaver Web app server web service.
There are limitations about the complexity of the WSDL - see Notes:
1653655 - Limitations in Web Service WSDL URL usage in Xcelsius 4.0
1703839 - Limitations of Web service usage in Xcelsius / Dashboard Design
also , changes between SAP versions requires reworking the WSDL
Note 1625091 - The WSDL URL for web service which generated in SAP Enterprise Central Component cannot be loaded into Xcelsius

I've created out BI system in our new Portal installation and tested the connection. Everything works fine. I added the certificate of the portal to STRUSTSSO2 in BI ABAP and assigned SAP_ALL and SAP_NEW to my Account.in BI. If I open the iView from the portal I get a BSP Exception with the message:
The used connection by the iView is to the ABAP-Stack of the BI-system not to the JAVA-Stack. Is that correct?

Proxy Activation - ECC 6.0 to SAP PI system

Our envirnonment -
1) SAP ECC 6.0 ( R/3 system)
2) SAP PI ( R/3 system)
To establish communicate between SAP ECC 6.0 to SAP PI ( R/3 system using proxies )-
we have setup following steps on ECC 6.0 system-
1) Created a HTTP connection in the business system of type H.
Please let me know what is the path prefix we need to set.
2) Configuration Business system as local Integration Engine.
3) Connection between Business System and System Landscape Directory
Create RFC destination (TCP/IP) LCRSAPRFC and SAPSLDAPI for the SLD connection.
I have developed a sample interface to send data from SAP ECC --->PI --> File system ( Proxy to file interface)
When i run the report to call the proxy it is pushing the data on the integration engine of the ECC system.
How can i debug what is the problem is ? why the data is not getting pushed on PI system using proxy ?
How can i debug this ? Please let me know if i am missing any thing in proxy activation between ECC to PI system.

I am able to create a interface proxy to File
SAP ECC R/3 system --- > SAP PI ---> File system
I have created a proxy on ECC R/3 system using SPROXY. when i trigger the proxy using a abap report the data is not getting pushed on to SAP PI system .
When i do a SXMB_MONI on ECC system it should call the integration server as out bound ... It is throwing a error message as mentioned below.

Switch over between two SAP PI systems for downtime minimization

Hello Colleagues,
with our interfaces over our SAP PI 7.31 (ABAP/Java) system we assume we will run in a 7x24 h runtime scenario in the future.
Regarding Business Continuity we have to think about solutions which help us to handle downtimes greater than 15 min. regarding Support Package upgrade, Kernel update, EHP, etc.
The first idea is to implement a second equal SAP PI productive system in parallel to the existing one.
On the sender side a switch over implementation like WebDispatcher, Load Balancer, etc.
For maintenance all Interface traffic can run over PI Nr. 1 and PI Nr. 2 can be updated.
Afterward all interfaces will switched to PI Nr. 2 and PI Nr. 1 can go in maintenance.
Could be this as suitable solution for SAP PI Business Continuity or do you know better solutions?

The nZDM Concept is already known to me but it doesn’t answer all our questions.
Please let me explain a little more in detail.
Not currently but in the near future we assume some new interface over our SAP PI System will come with the requirement max. downtime lower thank 10 to 15 min. only allowed.
To be prepared regarding this possible scenario, we start thinking about possible different solutions.
First step was the nZDM Concept, of course. But it didn’t meet all our requirements regarding interface downtime.
Some points are:
possible min. downtime is 30 min. and thus is over our requirements for interfaces
only for Update (and planed for Upgrade) the SAP PI application
all operating system and database related maintenance tasks are not covered by nZDM
all Hardware (Server, Storage, etc.) as well not covered by nZDM
Among others, because of these facts we start thinking about a second equal SAP PI system beside to existing productive one.
Than line 1 will take over the whole interface traffic and in the meantime the line 2 can go in maintenance. After finalizing the maintenance for SAP PI Nr. 2 we can switch the interface traffic to SAP PI Nr. 2 to get SAP PI Nr. 1 free for maintenance.
Regarding the topic “PI Federation” I found here in these documentation's several hints regarding this scenario (two SAP PI systems in an switch over scenario).

Regarding our hardware infrastructure prerequisites and downtime requirements, which solution(s) do you recommend? Is PI Federation still an option?

DMS Document Management from SAP LSO and IT1062

I need to use the Knowledge Link Infotype (IT 1062) for linking to documents in the DMS for use from within SAP LSO.
I can upload the documents using Tx OAOR, but how do I add the link to the document in IT 1062?
Is there another way of uploading the document which I should be trying?
What is the best / easiest way to upload a document to DMS and also link to it in IT 1062?

I`v done a research and i believe its better to do the standard way of managing contents for LSO.
Based on my finding its better to use Kpro(Knowledge provider) for this purpose. DMS and CMS Services both are Kpro Services when DMS uses(in standard way) for documents related to MM and CMS recommended for LSO.
CMS can link to KM(Knowledge management) and also using Authoring Environment you can manage all contents related to LSO.
AE allows you to use external Authoring Tools in order to provide eLearning. indeed you can use CMS repositories to store LSO Docs.
Since you may decide to give users an access to learning material it is a good idea to upload docs in a way that easily being accessible from web.
Integration between CMS and DMS is possible( refer to link below: Integration of CMS & DMS).

How to hide a field in WD ABAP in SAP LSO for privacy reasons?

For my current project, the business wants to implement SAP LSO (Learning).
They would like to have some small changes in the WebDynpro for ABAP iview "pcd:portal_content/com.sap.pct/specialist/com.sap.pct.erp.instructor.bp_folder/com.sap.pct.erp.instructor.iviews/com.sap.pct.erp.instructor.course_details".
For privacy reasons they want to make the field "Address of the participant" invisible via CTRL-rightmouse Click in Admin mode.
Various fields are done in the first screen, but when you click on the link "Participant XYZ", you get additional information of it.
I am not seeing any fields in Admin mode on that level. How can I make this happen for all users?
FYI: I can't find the "Address" field in the Element structure UI.
We can disable the link to the participant, but that's not what the business wants. Hopefully someone has the solution (without WD-developement actions please..)

What you can do is the following:
Start the application in a 'normal' way, so not in the preview mode. Select the course, and copy/paste the url that is generated in notepad. Please note the following string:
ASSIGNED_AS=Docent&OBJID=50000716&OTYPE=E&PLVAR=01 (Values will differ on your system).
These are the input parameters of the WD Abap that gets called, which is lso_mc_admn_course_dtls. (The iView that gets called is pcd:portal_content/com.sap.pct/specialist/com.sap.pct.erp.instructor.bp_folder/com.sap.pct.erp.instructor.iviews/com.sap.pct.erp.instructor.course_details).
Start the Web Dynpro ABAP (you can do this through the backend with transaction SE80, choose Comp/Intf Web Dynpro, enter LSO_MC_ADMN_COURSE_DTLS for the Web Dynpro ABAP, then click open the Web Dynpro Applications bit, double click on lso_mc_admn_course_dtls. Then, from the top menu, select Web Dynpro Application --> Test --> Execute in Administration mode.
Now add the string that has something like ASSIGNED_AS right until PLVAR=## (the string I pasted up here in this answer). You're now in admin mode with the correct parameters, and you can change the app. Don't forget to transport the changes you made!
