SAP xMII Log/ SQL transaction Log

We have an application where we are inserting data from a PLC to the SQL Server using the xMII.
The SQL server no. of times gives the Transaction Log Full error.
This causes the error any data insertion or deletion in SQL
In tern the xMII logs error, the log file for a day (in the Lighthammer\Logs\cms.log)is seen as large as 15 GB.
We are not able to open such a huge file...
Moreover we are unable to know if there are anyu other errors other than due to the SQL logged by xMII
How can we see the Log created by xMII, this will help us in troubleshooting .

I have resolved the issue of transaction log by archiving the Log at increased frequency.

We are required to have the PLC data in SQL as the Customer wants to have that and they do not have any other database, SCADA etc.
The SQL server logs (consolidates) not only the PLC data but data from some other devices as well
Moreover this is data then used for confirming the production to SAP and maintaining the status of the confirmation. This also involves queuing of the data in SQL if the data is not confirmed to SAP for any reason.
We are not logging the data every minute, The data is logged depending on a batch completion, shift completion etc.

Intermittently users get the following error when logging into the application which is built upon xmii:
com.microsoft.sqlserver.jdbc.SQLServerResource
At this point in the application it is trying to read information which is stored in a SQLServer database.
We see the following errors in trace files:
application [XMII] Processing HTTP request to servlet [Illuminator] finished with error.
The error is: com.sap.xmii.Illuminator.logging.LHException: com.sap.xmii.Illuminator.logging.LHException: java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: com.microsoft.sqlserver.jdbc.SQLServerResource

This is running on a NW JavaAs 7.0 SP18, MII 12.0 SP8.
We've replaced the JDBC driver with one which SAP support told us would work, but that did not fix the problem either.
We can get the problem to go away for a period of time by simply disabling and then re-enabling the Data Server connection. It is using the IDBC Connector with a SQL connector type. STATUS shows No. Connections Used 0, No. Connections Available 1, Max No. Connections Used 2. Max. Wait Time 0.0.
Ideas?

Hi John,
Before connecting SQL server with SAP MII, try connecting SQL server independently.
It helps to narrow down the problem.
If the independent connection works fine, try connecting with SAP MII with proper JDBC drivers
Go through the SAP Note 1109274 & forum MII 12.1 - connection to MS SQL2005 database
for more information on JDBC drivers.

Hi Novice,
SAP R/3 supports an internal auditing system, called the Security Audit Log. Each SAP application server maintains a daily audit file. You can specify the name and location of the Security Audit Log using the rsau/local/file profile parameter.
To activate the internal audit system, set the audit log parameters as described in the following table :
Audit Log parameter settings Audit Log Parameter Set value to...
rsau/enable 1
rsau/local/file path to audit log file
rsau/max_diskspace/local maximum space to allocate for the audit files
rsau/selection_slots 3
rec/client ALL
Note:
The rsau/local/file parameter contains the entire path name to the audit logs, as well as the file name. The file name must include + symbols to contain a variable datepart. Do not include a file extension in the file name. See the following examples for clarification.
This example shows a valid path and filename:
/usr/sap/machine1/log/audit_++++++++
This example shows an invalid path and filename; the filename does not include a datepart:
/usr/sap/machine1/log/audit

After you set the audit log profile parameters, start transaction SM19 to specify which events to log in the Audit Security Log.

SAP message Log

Does SAP maintain log of all the messages displayed on screen using MESSAGE statement?
We are investigating a problem and want to see the messages displayed by SAP during the time when problem occured.

We have custom development for picking and confirmation. Last week we found that in some deliveries there is difference in delivered quantity and packed quantity.
Custom development is calling sap-standard FMs. Problem occurs randomly, roughly 10 deliveries in a week has this problem.
We are still trying to investigate the reason that is causing the problem.
Custom program does display the message to user if FM raise any message. We asked user of they are getting any message while picking, and if they are ignoring it.
They just confirmed that they are getting message 'Packing Not Possible Since there is no Quantity to be Packed' and they did ignored this.

Custom error message in SAP application log

Is there a way to add a custom error message to the SAP application log without passing the message variables MSGV1, MSGV2, MSGV3, MSGV4 and the Message class and number.
We want to pass a custom message from the BAPIRET2-MESSAGE without giving it a Message class and number. The reason for this is that we are using class based exceptions instead of the traditional message class with errors. When we catch the class based exception, we take the error text of the exception and put in in the BAPIRET2-message and set the BAPIRET2-TYPE as 'E'. Now we want to add this to the SAP application log.
The call to 'BAL_LOG_MSG_ADD' takes a structure BAL_S_MSG which is just like BAPIRET2. However this function builds the entry to the application log use the message variables MSGV1, MSGV2, MSGV3, MSGV4. There is no provision to pass in the BAPIRET2 message.

This FM is represented by the structure BAL_S_EXC. This can have various versions as described below:
Data of BAL_S_EXC Structure / Use
EXCEPTION / Exception class from which an exception text
 is added to the log. This field must be filled.
MSGTY / Message type (MSGTY) of a T100 message.
 This field must also be filled for exceptions.
PROBCLASS,
DETLEVEL,
ALSORT, TIME_STMP / Message or exception attributes, such as
 problem class (PROBCLASS, for
 example, "very important"), level of detail
 (DETLEVEL, from 1 to 9), sort criterion
 (ALSORT, unrestricted) and timestamp
 (TIME_STMP). These fields can be displayed
 in the log (except TIME_STMP).
MSG_COUNT / This attribute is not used for exceptions.

SAP System Log on issue using Crystal Reports:

Hi All,
I have installed Crystal reports, Business Explorer and Business Objects XI Integration. But when I tried to create a new report using SAP Table, Cluster or Functional, I couldn't able to select SAP System since it shows SAP System Log on selection was blank.
Note: I have undergone the following trials:
         1) All the trials are done after connecting to the Internal Vpn.
         2) Re-installed the Crystal reports, Business Explorer and Business Objects XI. But result was the same.
         3) Compared all the setting parameters with another System which works fine.
         4) Only difference seems to be that I am using Win Vista and other one is Win XP OS.
         5) Tried in the net for Win Vista specific patches or software to run the crystal report but couldn't helped.
Did any one come across similar experience or is there any idea why it could be? Thank you in advance.

Thank you very much for your reply. I was wondering from where we could download XI R2 ( 11.5 ) SP 2. I have tried downloading Software Forces .rpt Inspector 3 Professional suite (for CR XI R2) . But this doesn't seems to be the right one. Also I have cheked in sdn Crysal Report 2008 download (https://websmp230.sap-ag.de/sap(bD1lbiZjPTAwMQ==)/bc/bsp/spn/bobj_download/main.htm ). But no luck. Par file deployment from nwds - sap-plugin.log error

i'm trying to deploy par file
all my setting are right, but i get error that i see in sap-plugin.log file

I require this package in order to run my program based on webdynpro and Bw. specialing its looking for com.sap.tc.logging.location . The detailed exception is laready posted by me. from where can i download and install this package.
In the eclipse plugins the package is only present with docs , but does'nt have classes in them.

I am getting below error message in BO Test environment when I refresh WebI document.

It was working when we migrated the objects initially. Subsequently when we try to refresh WebI document we are getting the above error message. It still works in BO Dev environment and the no of records are the same in Dev and Test.
I am able run the underlying BEx query in SAP BW Test environment and it does return data.
I checked ST22 and SM21 log, but no details there.
Is it related to Authorization on the Universe or Bex Query?
We are in the middle of UAT and not able to move forward. I would greatly appreciate your input.

I ran the zip file and added the required entries to registry.
And then I tried to reproduce the error, but the files are not generated instead I noticeed below error message on the server:

well I can confirm that Location.class is DEFINATELY part of that jar file. Im using it constantly.
There must be some problem with the way you are importing it. Ensure its added to the right project as an external jar.
then it should be a simple case of
import com.sap.tc.logging.Location;
and away you go ....

I have a concern on SAP & Oracle logs. I want to know what are all the logs mentioned below can be deleted and what are all the logs should be kept for the recovery of DB, if the system got crashed. Also how many days logs should be kept for the future purpose. In our landscape, we are running online backup job daily from the T-code DB13.
