SAPGUI - cantch error messages.
Hi,
We would like to whether there's a way to catch SAP messages (mainly error) instead of looking in the SAPGUI.
We developed a product ([sap error message solution|http://steeryou.com/solutions/das]) that helps user to solve SAP error and we found that there are cases that the error message can be somtimes in statusbar and in other cases in a popups.
Is there a way to connect SAPGUI and get the error messages shown to user instead look for it in SAPGUI ?
Thanks a lot,
Assaf

Going to need a Lot more info to be of any assistance. As Sig said what OS is running in Fusion. What version of Fusion. What version of QB. Did it ever run. Do you have the network setup in the Fusion OS. Have you installed VMware Tools.

SAPGUI for JAVA error message "wrong logon langage!
Hello,
We are testing SAPGUI 7.10 on Linux
but we have some problem when we want to connect to operation server and it works with other servers like development server.
The error message is
"Wrong longon language!
This language is not allowed for this PC!
You will be logged off!"
All servers are in same kernel package 4.6D
Version SAPGUI for Java is 7.10 rev 1 & rev 3
OS SUSE 2.6.16.46-0.14
String connection: /H/servername/S/3200
Please help me!I try with an other PC but i have the same problem.
In SM21, I didn't see error log of my logon test.
I have the same language installed in all servers, i saw in SMLT but i think there is a conflict between language in the PC and the server.
That is strange, it's worked with all server wich are not in cluster.
also , i tried to connect to servers wich are in cluster with this connection string : conn:/M/servername/S/3600/Gservergroup but i have the same problem.
I tried to connect to AS directly but i have the problem again.
I don't understand what its means SM21 t-code.

How To Handle Error Message In TCD Recording?
Hi All,
I tried recording a transaction (my own transaction) by not enterring value in an obligatory field. the error message came. but when i executed the script, it showed an error. but actualy, the error message was expected right? how to handle this situation? i tried with tcd and sapgui recording. both gave almot the same result.
i am including the script which i have written.
MESSAGE ( MSG_1 ).
*TCD ( ZCUST , ZCUST_1 , ECC ).
SAPGUI ( SAP_1 , ECC ).
ENDMESSAGE ( E_MSG_1 ).
v_mno = &tfill.
v_msg = E_MSG_1[v_mno]-msgtext.
v_mtp = E_MSG_1[v_mno]-msgtyp.
If Msg Type is E *** **** It Has To Be E ****
IF ( v_mtp = 'E' and v_msg = 'Account no AC02 does not exist EXIT = X').

ELSE.

logtext(1,'Failed').
ENDIF.

My script (very simple):

S 06 017 Standard PO created under the number 8201075606
ENDMESSAGE E_MSG_2 (&TFILL = 0)
As you can see, 3 messages are found but the &TFILL variable is still 0.
I guess (but cannot test yet) I would manage to record those messages using SAPGUI command.
Is there anything wrong with my script?
My SAP_BASIS component is in version 620. I'm not using the ultimate version of eCATT (no WEBDYNPRO command, etc.). Could it be an explanation?
Thank you in advance,

Collect Error Message from SAP program to BSP Page
Hi Experts,
I am displaying an error message in the form of pop-up Message in a Screen based on a condition using BADI on R/3 screen , but when i am calling the screen from Portal (BSP PAge) I am unable to see the Error Message which is being displayed as a pop-up in r/3..
How to catch the error and display in BSP Page.....
I have searched the forum but didnt find any suitable replies....
Plz help
Regards,
SrikarHi Srikar,
It depends.
Generally though you display a message in SAPGUI it does not display automatically in BSP.
Some times you have to manually write some code to populate and display a message in BSP.
First you need to find the BSP page and write some code to display error messages in the same..

Error message from originating program when clicking on weblink to open FF4
FF4 is now my default browser on my WinXP netbook. (Instead of FF3.6.)
If FF is not open and I click on a weblink in Outlook or other programs, FF4 opens the webpage but I also get an error message in the originating program saying the system cannot find the file. If FF4 is already open I do not get the error message. FF3.6 did not generate this error message even though it took significantly longer to open than FF4.Hi Srikar,

Error message when opening a shared workbook with Excel 2007
Hello,
We would like to share a workbook outside BW (by saving into a serveur).Since we use Excel 2007, we can't anymore open this workbook.
We have a message error (see bellow).
For your information, it was ok with Excel 2003.
When whe save the workbook in local disk and then copy from local disk
to a serveur, it's ok.
We use SAPGUI 7.10 support package 8, patch 1 Revision 1443 & BI 7.0.
Best regards
Nicolas Triqnuandhey Nicolas,
first of all, your error message is in French... not too many people out there will be able to understand. Eventhough I do understand French, it doesn't make much sense to me... BUT... in Excel2007 all macro's are by default disabled. When you enable them (you should get a "Security Warning" right under "the Ribbon"), your BI stuff should work again.
Just gave it a try, and it runs smoothly over here.
Cheers,

Error Message when saving the workflow in SWDD.
I have raised this question before in the forum, but I still don't have answer.
When I try to save the modified workflow or activate it, I have the error message like:
Message Type X,
The current application triggered a termination with a short dump.
Analyse des erreurs
Short text of error message:
Control Framework : erreur when a control release !
Technical information about the message:
Message classe...... "CNDP"
Number.............. 006
Variable 1.......... " "
Variable 2.......... " "
Variable 3.......... " "
Variable 4.......... " "
Does anyone have some clue on that??This is from the long text for this message:
Control Framework : Error processing control
Diagnosis
An error occurred when the system tried to process the commands from the Automation Queue on the presentation server.
There are several possible reasons for this:
- The installation of the SAP GUI on the presentation server is faulty or obsolete.
- There is an error in the application program
- There is an error in the SAPGUI or an integrated control
Procedure
1. Make sure that you have imported the appropriate Support Package, the current kernel, and GUI patch for the release of your system
2. Check whether the error occurs locally on one or a few PCs, or generally on all PCs. Note whether the error only occurs for some users, for example because of a specific Customizing setting.
If it only occurs locally, this suggests an installation problem with the PC. Check the installation; if necessary, reinstall the software. In the dump, search for the SY-MSGLI field, since it may point to the cause of the error.
3. Activate the Automation Trace (in accordance with SAP Note 158985).
4.Start the transaction and continue until the screen immediately before the dump.
5. From the System -> Utilities menu, choose Autom. Queue, Synchronous Processing.
The status bar of the GUI displays the text:
"Automation synchron flush mode on"
6. If you now proceed with the application, the short dump will display the ABAP call that caused the error; the Automation Trace will contain the error on the presentation server.
7. If necessary, load the short dump and trace files on to sapservX, so that SAP can analyze them.
There are plenty of options stated in this message which could cause the problem, I suggest you start with those.
Kind regards, Rob Dielemans -

USR40 - password in exception list error message
Hello,
At our company, we planned to maintain USR40 table with easily guessed passwords. We ended up preparing a quite a big list. There are as many as 4000 users and we are afraid that this may create a big impact. I say impact because the error message that pops up when user changes his password to one of the exceptional ones is as following:
"Password is in exception table"
Can we change the above error message to a customized one? We want to make it some what more detailed so that users are not frustrated.
Thanks for your help!
Regards. It depends on how you set the login/* parameters - as this will influence not only the structure of the password but also the likelihood of a certain pattern.
A classical example is if the password validity period is set to 30 days, then including the months (January, February, etc) is a good idea. More likely you have 90 days, so including the seasons will be a significantly better idea. But one special character somewhere in the password combined with a lock counter set to 5 (my recommendation) is much easier for the users to remember (as a rule, not the password...) and you to communicate to them.
Personally, when I get this USR40 message, then I do think a bit about the password quality and have a little list of known "silly passwords" like 'ASDF', 'SUMMER', 'TEST', etc which I maintain, but that's it. It should really be self-explanatory to the user that their password is rubbish. Otherwise, don't include it in the USR40 and concentrate on the special characters and possibly even 1 number to "break" the word or phrase.
> It may not be possible for us to inform the 4000+ users...so somehow we wanted them to be notified in a user-friendly way...
SM02 system message is one option. A session_manager transaction start at next logon is another. There is also an exit in the SAPGui logon program you could use.
Cool is also an email from the CEO to all employees, after you hack his / her password in a (legal!) audit
Cheers,

Startrfc: Error message after calling a FM/report
Hello Experts,
I am working on a solution to call a RFC function module from outside of SAP via startrfc. This FM opens a report displaying standard report output.
The call via startrfc works as expected. The sapgui opens. As long as the report is open the startrfc command console hangs. When I close the SAPGUI window with the report, logoff popup is displayed. But in the console I got an error message:
RFC Call/Exception: SYSTEM_FAILURE
Group Error group 104
Key RFC_ERROR_SYSTEM_FAILURE
Message connection closed without message <CM_NO_DATA_RECEIVED>
Does anybody kow what causes this behavior? And further on: can I change the behavior that the startrfc call blocks the console? Why does it not return immediatly?
Any hints are welcome?
Regards,
AndreasYes, we are using RAS. Our setup is BOE XI 3.1 on Linux. We are using the RAS/CrystalReportViewer java API to execute/view the reports from a JBoss server also running on Linux.
We did find a CRConfig on the BOE server and it did contain a <SocketTimeout>60000</SocketTimeout> entity. We modified it to 600000 and restarted the BOE service. Unfortunately, we still the same problem ("Failed to retrieve data from the database; Error in File {B608A22A-1E54-11E0-ABFC-000E0CB8A71E}.rpt: Failed to retrieve data from the database").
We thought that when using the CrystalReportViewer java API, rendering is done "locally" (that is, on our web server). In that case, shouldn't we have a CRConfig.xml on our web server? We're seeing conflicting information about this on the forum. If we do need CRConfig.xml on our web server, then should we copy it from the one on the BOE, and where should we put it? -
Hi,
We are running 04s NetWeaver on Unix box. Wehn our development team tries to log in to WAD it only accepts uppercase password. If the user enters his/her password in lower case, it will give an error message "BW Server seems to be a 2.x or 3.x or 4.x system (Check Globaldata.ServerVersion)".
Has anyone come accross this error message and how it was corrected.
Thanks
Vivek RajHi,
I think you are using old GUI with 2004s server. You should use 3.x WAD came with new GUI install.
Gui should be on 640, you should install the new bex add-in.
You can download the gui from
service.sap.com -> under SAP support portal chose software download -> enter oss id -> sap support packages (via menu) -> entry by application group in left pane -> sap frontend components in main window -> > SAP GUI for windows -> sapgui for windows 640
You have to execute twice, once to sweep the old setup and second to reinstall.
During the installation, you have following installation components: SAPGUI, R/3 add-on, General add-on, development tools, legacy components, BW add-on, BI add-in, CRM add-on, KW add-on, SCM add-on, SEM add-on.
Apart from other components, you definately need the BI add-in, this contains 2004S.
Please assign points if this helped you.

Searching by aggregate type field leads to error message in Workbench
I defined a persistent pojo entity that contains an attribute as an aggregate type mapping.
Now I tried to query entities with an instance of that aggregate type as parameter to the query (TL expression query in the workbench).
First argument (query key) is the attribute of the entity (aggregate type), operator is EQUAL and second argument is the parameter which is of same aggregate type.
I thought this would be the natural way to query but the workbench shows an error message:
0251 - The expression (line 1.) on query readByOwner is invalid. When querying on a reference mapping, only unary operators (Is Null, Not Null) are supported.
Is this really an error? Where is the problem?
I found a similiar post from 2003 on this forum, saying that it is a bug, though I'm unsure if it is the same problem. I use the most recent version of Toplink and Workbench, so it's hard to believe that such a basic problem was not fixed for 5 years... was it?

Hi Experts!
We have an issue when displaying originals(in DIRs) in PLM WUI, Portal.
The issue can be summarized like this:
JPG-Images or PDF files are stored on a shared folder. (Not in SAP System)
We then create an original in a DIR(document info record). We do NOT check in the original but only use file as a link.
(In our solution we will not check in the originals but the versioning will be controlled in the linked folder).
Example:
We create an original with the following link
sharedfolder\images\image01.jpg
Anyone can afterwards log on the system and click display original and the jpf or pdf is shown.
This procedure works perfectly fine when we are in SAPGUI.
But in the Portal the system acts different from case to case.
Case 1
When a colleague of mine has added an original in SAPGUI and I
then press display in Portal I get a security list error message, Wrong downloading server
(We have defined the white list, TCode wdr_acf_wlist, and downloaded it.
In this case we have tried
sharedfolder\images\ as downloading server for example)
Case 2
When I have added an original in SAPGUI and then press display in the Portal the image is shown
->Why do I NOT get the error message in this case?
Any ideas why the system works this way and how I can solve it?
Thanks in advance!
MikaelHi Mikael,
I was led to this thread via search on SDN for "white list". We need to set up an external facing portal and need to set up reverse proxy plus white list. We have an OSS message running with prio very high but don't seem to get a helpful answer. Can you give info on how to configure the revese proxy (we aim at citrix gateway as reverse proxy) with white list? or can you describe your architecture with focus on white list? very kind regards, Matthias Kasig -
