  • Will ATI Radeon 7000 PCI work in my G5 dual 2 GHz?

I currently have a ATI Radeon 7000 MAC32M PCI video card working just fine in my G4.
I know I should be careful about what I plug into my G5's pci slots because I don't believe they are compatible with ALL pci cards that work just fine in G4's
Does anybody know if this card is compatible with my G5's pci slots????
My G5 has a dual-monitor AGP vidoe card and I am trying to go for a 3 monitor setup!
    thank you!

so I finally found the manual for the Radeon 7000
it says "Power: +5V 5± %, @ 1.3A typical"........and under Bus it says "PCI: 32-bit PCI local bus compliant with PCI version 2.1 specification 33 or 66MHZ compatible"
now in the Power Mac G5 Technical Specifications i found online at apple it says
    "PCI expansion
    One of the following configurations:
Three open full-length 64-bit, 33MHz PCI slots, or
    One open full-length 64-bit, 133MHz PCI-X slot and two open full-length 64-bit 100MHz PCI-X slots"
I have the FIRST of the Dual 2.0 GHz G5's.....the later Dual processor G5's might have had different specs than mine, but this Technical Specs file online doesn't specify between different generations of the dual 2 GHz G5's
but does this info help anyone assist me?
I do have 2 completely random cheapo firewire PCI cards in my G5 that I threw in there without much thought and they work fine....but I have no idea what their speeds/voltages are
I saw somewhere that G5's might ONLY be able to take 3.3 volt cards....so does that mean using the Radeon 7000 is a BAD idea for me since it says 5 Volts above??
or were the original Dual 2 GHz G5's okay with 5 volt pci cards?
    HELP!!

  • Radeon 9200 not working with 450 mhz B&W

Put the card in, boots up with the chime, tried different memory, still doesn't work. The card is the green version, not the red. I got this off of ebay and it said that it worked with these computers. Do I somehow have to download the drivers while booting up? please help

yes it booted to the screen that tells what is booting before the OS actually boots, and i tried both slots on the mac. and it's still not working. I'll list the specs: maybe something wrong there: 450MHz G3, 640mb ram, 60gb HD, osx 10.4.11, and the stock video card.

  • N73 ME not working in Network Mode GSM and Dual Mo...

    Dear All,
    I have N73 ME.
    Firmware: V 4.0812.4.2.1
I am using Vodafone Line and I am living in egypt.
I have a problem with the network of the device. The device is working fine only with the Network Mode UMTS, but not working with GSM and Dual Mode, which makes it doesnot have network signal  in many areas, while I have another Nokia 5200 phone whick works fine in these areas.
Is it a Software or Hardware problem?
and what is the solution for it?
Thanks in advance for your help.

  • [Solved]dual screen (radeon 9200) not working properly under composite

I am running a radeon 9200 on my desktop with monitors plugged into both the DVI and VGA outputs. I'm using the xf86-radeon-ati driver with no Xorg.conf.
I have been using openbox for a few years now, and for as long as I remember, all I needed was:
    xrandr --output DVI-0 --auto --left-of VGA-0
and everything works fine. Seems like xcompmgr and cairo-compmgr also work properly.
I was experimenting with XFCE4, which works fine until I try to also use compiz as the window manager. The right side on the left monitor become jibberish, and the second monitor also becomes just as messed up, and I cannot properly drag any windows.
The same thing happened when I installed KDE4.
    I should note two things:
    1) If I clone the two monitors, everything works fine.
    2) If I change from OpenGL to XRender (under desktop effects in KDE settings), everything works fine, just quite slowly.
Am I right in guessing that compiz works based off of OpenGL? Is there some way to get OpenGL working properly with my setup, or is this not an option?

Gusar wrote:Depends on the resolution. It's quite possible the card's limit when it comes to opengl is 2048x2048. If the combined resolution of your displays is larger than that, you simply can't use an opengl compositor.
Does this have anything to do with texture size? If I try to enable composite from terminal, I see some error messages regarding texture size, and after some googling it appears as if it is possible that the max texture size is 2048.

  • G62 mobility radeon 5470 not working

Hi, i have been using HP G62-b45SE notebook with ATI mobility Radeon 5470 and an intel integrated video processor.Few months ago problems started to appear when notebook switched to Radeon when plugged in ac.Couple of times i got blue scrren but i didnot read the dump.I upgraded the bios from the hp site for my notebook and reinstalled the ATI driver. Now when I boot my notebook it shows black screen and nothing else everything else comes on keyboard works and I can hear the login music also. This problem is constan now.Several times I did manage to boot with ATI radeon active since its hybrid
switches from one gpu to other. Now the problem is constant. When I uninstalled the ATI driver in windows 7 safe mode it booted successfully.I even reinstalled my win7 but no success either.I suspect its a hardware problem that requires mother board to be changed. But Iam not sure.
Any help in this regard will be appreciated.

    Hi:
According to the support and driver page for your model, this is the only graphics driver that should work.
    http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareDownloadIndex?softwareitem=ob-93513-1&cc=us&dlc=en&lc=en&...
This driver installs the drivers for both the Intel and AMD graphics devices.
You cannot install any other driver (such as a separate Intel or separate AMD driver).
if the above driver doesn't work, unfortunately, I wouldn't know why.

  • Motu Ultralite not working in PowerMac G5 any OS

I have a Motu Ultralite that is recognized in Audio Desk and Reason but does not produce any sound. When used as an output for iTunes it produces sound for about 1:45 then turnes to noise. I have tried most OS's from 10.4.1 to 10.4.10 with pretty much the same resuolts. I am using the latest Motu drivers. The unit works on other Macs but not mine. I have a PCI graphics card not the AGP one that comes with the MAC. I am using 4.5 gigs of RAM. The firewire ports on the computer seem to be ok when moving data to and from an external drive. Motu support could was no help at all. I am posting here because I hope to reach readers who use audio interface cards. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Power Mac G5   Mac OS X (10.4.10)   4 G RAM, PCI Video Card

Hey, this is a tricky one. May I suggest trying the following:
    1. Disconnect all other Firewire devices
    - to remove the possibility of something causing a conflict
    2. Try a different Firewire cable
    - may be subtly damaged
    3. If possible try another Firewire audio interface
    - will prove that your Mac and it's Firewire ports are ok
    - it's possible that when you're using a hard drive that if there are read/write errors OS X is doing error correction so you're not seeing any noticeable difference in performance, whereas with audio, it's a continuous stream and errors that are occurring you're hearing as noise
    4. If possible try a different Ultralite
    - will prove that your current ultralite is faulty
Basically, try to isolate whether the issue is with the Ultralite or your Mac.

  • AMD Radeon 6470M not working with Windows 10

I have upgraded to Windows 10 on my HP Pavilion DV7-6002, however I am experincing problems with my built in Radeon HD6470M  Switchable graphics card. When installing the latest HP AMD Catalyst Control Centre with drivers it is detecting the card as a 7400M and 4200M, but showing code 43 in device manager and the control centre is saying there are no drivers installed. Also its giving a opengl error if I try to run a game.
Any ideas on this one? Many Thanks

Hello , Welcome to the HP Support Forums! It is a great place to find the help you need, both from other users, HP experts and other support personnel. I read your post about the Windows 10 update, and wanted to assist you!
You can try running the HP Support Assistant, to see if you can find the necessary drivers to resolve the issue.  If you are still having trouble, then I recommend using the Go back to an earlier build option, in your System Settings:HP Notebook PCs - Upgrading to Windows 10
Once you are back to your original Operating System, check to see if you are experiencing the same issue. If not, then you may consider holding off on the Windows 10 update for a few weeks, until drivers can be updated. Please let me know if this information was helpful by clicking the thumbs up below.
    Have a great day!

  • Radeon hd7570 not working as well as it should

I run windows 7 64bit, and I've been having some trouble with this card.  I know it should be able to run games like star wars the old republic at high settings with no problem, but it's only able to do mediocre at medium settings.  I've updated the driver, gone into the settings and made the card performance, but nothing changes.

    Hi,
The AMD 7570 is not enough video card for running at the higher settings.  Try a few lower screen resolutions (which you probably will not like) as a test and see how the card performs.
You probably need something like the AMD 6850 or higher.
There is an outside chance that your unknown PC has other issues.

  • PowerMac G3 B&W and Radeon 7000 PCI Low Performance :(

Hello guys. Lats week I bought Radeon 7000 PCI Mac Edition for my B&W. In my B&W I've got G4 XLR8 400@500MHz, 320MB RAM in Micron modules, Radeon 7000 PCI ME, USB 2.0 card on NEC chipset, ATTO SCSI PSC card witch system disk connected to it. When I put this Radeon to B&W I was not impressed at all. I installed all drivers for OS9 and 10.3.9 I also installed 10.4.8 for some tests. First I try visualizations in OS9 in iTunes 2.0.4 and I've got only 19fps in Panther with iTunes 7.0.2 effect are similar about 14-23fps. The best things happened in Tiger frame drops in DVD Player was noticed by me and iTunes visualizations are also very slow. On my old Beige G3 266MHz and older Ati Radeon PCI ME I've got about 40fps in iTunes 2 in OS9. I don't understand this situation my old machine with I sold almost two years ago was faster then my B&W G4 with Radeon 7000 ME witch I'm using now. I also tested this card in my PowerMac G4 AGP and in OS9 results was the same.
Do you have some idea how to resolve this or maybe I've made a mistake somewhere or maybe this is normal thing for this card ?
One more thing I installed the the ATI Radeon 7000 card after I had installed the system on B&W and G4 AGP.
    B&W G4 Mac OS X (10.3.9)

"On my old Beige G3 266MHz and older Ati Radeon PCI ME I've got about 40fps in iTunes 2 in OS9."
If your Beige had an original Radeon Mac Edition, that is a more powerful card than the Radeon 7000.

  • Radeon 9200 PCI Mac Edition not working properly

I recently purchased a Radeon 9200 PCI mac edition for my G3 B&W on ebay but it doesn't seem to like my B&W. It displays fine but refuses to load the driver and makes OS 9.2.2 freeze upon booting. I already have the latest drivers for it (january 2005 update). I haven't seen any similar issue around the net. Here is my B&W specs:
It has a G4 400mhz from the Yikes! running at 450MHz with voltage tweak help and 3 additinal fans attached to the heatsink (which is also original from the Yikes!).
    1GB RAM
    80GB + 40GB HDs
    2x Voodoo2 8mb cards running in SLI.
    ADB Keyboard + Mouse
removing the Voodoo2 did not fix this. I currently use a Radeon 7000 64MB PC flashed to Mac which works out of the box and share the same drivers. I don't have OS X installed. Please help, I don't know what to do anymore.
    LFTHFY,
    Filipe

    Try this driver update (again):
    ATI OS9 RADEON Update.zip
If you have an older mac w/G4 CPU upgrade (beige G3 or older for instance), for years there's been reports of conflicts (boot hangs, etc.) with ATI OS 9.x extensions (graphics accelerator extension IIRC) and cache enablers. Renaming extensions (space or tilde first letter) to change load order may help. For OS 9.x users, install the 9200 OS 9 drivers before installing the card. Also there's been several problem reports from older macs w/PCI IDE cards or SCSI PCI cards and the 9200 PCI card,

  • 30', not work with radeon 9800

Today I got the 30' and plugged it to my PC (old radeon 9800 pro as video card), dvi connection. But after displaying the windows XP logo, the whole screen starts to flash in different colors - right, nothing was displayed but all those colors. Checked all the cables, connection, not work; and stwiched back to my old sony 19', it's fine.. Any suggestions? Thanks!

    Hi-
    Welcome to Discussions!
The 9800 does not have a dual link DVI as required to support the 30" ACD. Though the 30" can probably be used at a maximum resolution of 1920x1200 on a 9800, you will need to set the resolution through your display controls. The 9800, though, will not support the 30" at optimum resolution. You will need a different graphics card with a dual link DVI.
If you don't have the WinACD driver, you may want that.

  • HDX 9010nr, Radeon 2600 will not work with WIndows 7

Apparently, HP is not going to support the HDX 9010nr for Windows 7.  That's the bad news, the good news is that it "mostly" works.
The only big issue is that the display driver stops every few minutes and then restarts.  So you sit there for thirty seconds while the machine recovers.  But, it doesn’t support a second screen; and worse, every 10th time the video driver crashes; it locks up the whole machine.
ATI has a version of the Radeon 2600 software that worked with the Release Candidate (RC) of Windows 7, but it will not work with the shipped version of Windows 7.  ATI recommends that you get a version from your hardware vendor.  Which brings me back to the first sentence.  HP isn't supporting the 9010nr.
The question is do any of the "supported" HP laptops have the ATI Radeon 2600?  If so, might that work on the HDX 9010nr?
    This question was solved.

Install the newest Windows 8 (64-bit) driver for your notebook only from the HP web support download section.
uninstall the drivers for both adapters and the Catalyst Control Center by running the softpaq and choosing uninstall all. Once you have done that run the installer again and (select install all)  install the Catalyst Control Center and the drivers.
The switchable graphics capability makes your notebook require the drivers from HP to achieve the switchable graphics capability.
