Use Display Driver Uninstaller : http://www.wagnardmobile.com/DDU/
in Safe Mode to remove current VGA drivers,
then reboot notebook to normal mode
then download and install MSI VGA drivers from:
    http://download.msi.com/nb_drivers/vga/vga_ati_r9m290x_%2013.151.0.0_0x578d27ac_w8100.zip
    reboot, retest
Thanks Svet !! its solved the problem. Thanks

  • Wireless keeps dropping out

The wireless was working fine, i had it working with network-manager i then was doing some work that i wanted to do via ethernet so switched the wireless off using the switch and now it keeps dropping out, i have had to remove network-manager as it wouldnt let me connect to wired for some reason, and have tried to get wireless re-working with wifi-menu, i have delected the config and created one using the examples and using netcfg and still having no luck. I looks as if the device is going into "power saving" and wont come out, outputs below:

  • Satellite Z830 - Wireless adapter drop out/conflict with USB

My Satellite Z830 has a wierd problem. The wireless connectivity works well until I plug a usb flashdrive into the usb 3 port on the side. The wireless then drops out after a period and from then on it cant find any wireless connections available. It effectively kills the wireless adapter, or at least makes it less reliable.
You have to reboot to get the connection back. I've tried with a few different usb storage devices with the same outcome. Both the wireless connection and the usb drive work fine, but not at the same time. This happens regardless of whether using the battery or when plugged in. I checked the power settings to ensure there wasnt some problem there. Everything is just on factory install/settings generally, so I cant imagine it is anything I've changed.
I'm at work, but I'll see if I have the same problem with the usb sockets at the back, and/or with powered usb hard disk, when i get home. This is really annoying, as you cant use the net and leave a usb disk in without risking a drop out. I havent checked messing around with USB root hub settings or IRC issues as this seems unlikely. Any thoughts or is the a "give it back to Toshiba" issue - I'd rather not have the down time. It took me quite a while to work out this was the problem.
The wireless connection itself is very strong where the ultrabook is being used, so isnt a signal strength issue.

I used inSSIDer Office 5 day trial (http://www.metageek.net/support/downloads/)
too identify the same problem with my Z830.
    _The results are really astonishing:_
the signal strength measured in dBm increases by > 100 times when the corded mouse is unplugged from the from the side USB port.
(plugging it into any of the USB ports in the back has no impact on the signal strength.)
In my case it jumped from -68 dBm to -41 dBm,: the -27 dBm difference means a 22.4 times improvement in signal strength (from about 100 pW to 2,240 pW).
See wikipedia for signal strength calculations: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/DBm
I tested to plug in an external hard disk into the side USB and it had the same -27 dBm effect on the signal strength.
In other words the wifi signal strength jumps from poor to excellent when the side USB is not used.
Toshiba must look into this significant hardware design fault and in the interim, as the very least, must advise their customers against using the side USB port when on a wireless network.

  • Why does my iMac wireless keep dropping out?

My iMac wi-fi keeps dropping out intermittently.  Sometimes, I can trace it to the router, but sometimes, everything else stays connected to the router, and only my iMac drops out.  I can check 'speed test' app in my iPhone4s through the router and it is still working and connected, but the iMac has dropped off.  It usually will connect back up, but sometimes takes 2 tries to get the job done.  It is starting to get annoying in frequency.
The iMac is about 1 year old now.  This has been happening recently.  I suspect trouble in my airport extreme card, but don't know how to check it out.
    Any ideas?
    Thanks!
    Jim

never mind.  I went to apple care support and after deleting some plists, resetting the computer a few times and a few other tricks, it is working well again.
But to answer your questions: airport monitor of computer.  I have a Cisco router.  The iPhone was using internet and the speed test app showed normal connections and speed.
    Thanks for your interest,
    Jim

  • Verizon Wireless keeps dropping the ball.

Back in March 2012 I was tired of the billing issues T-Mobile had with Suncom UnPlan users and decided to start shopping for another account.
My employer had a discount at all of the major Wireless Providers.
I called Sprint then AT&T saving Verizon for last.  Both Sprint and AT&T had decent rates but when I called Verizon the sales agent made a compelling quote.
He offered me the 2000 Minute Family plan with Unlimited Talk and Text for $120 for 5 lines.  He then offered me a smartphone for free with 4GB data for $30 more per month plus I would get a 20% discount.  This rate was within my budget and about the same as the rate I had with T-Mobile.  He gave me an estimate of the monthly cost and it was around the $150 rate.  I agreed to the deal and we conferenced with the 3rd party for the contract.
I received my phones fairly quickly.  I also quickly noticed the Verizon Coverage was not as good as T-Mobile especially in my house.  Verizon shipped a free network extender to cover that gap.  After about 1.5 months of service I received my first bill and it was huge. They had charged me activation charges for the lines that was not discussed by the salesman plus they had added $50 of monthly line charges and partial pro rated line charges that I was not quoted.
I called Verizon ready to disconnect. I ended up talking to Executive Support who corrected the billing but to my concern they did it by adding a "promotion" that would expire and I would have to call to have re-added once it expired. At least the bill was correct and I paid the same rate for a year as a loyal paying customer. Once the year had passed the "promotion" dropped and I had to go through a huge hassle to have it re-added again but they did, I was also encouraged to drop to the 1400 minute plan since I wasn't using very many minutes.
In October 2013, I contacted Verizon exec support to see if I could take advantage of some phones Best Buy was selling and to make sure my rate would not increase.  The agent helped me do early upgrades and said everything should be fine. But, after the year was up they added the $50 monthly charges again.  I called back to have the bill corrected and they said they would contact a department to see if they can put the "promotion" back on my account.  I did not receive a call back. 1.5 months passed and I was getting the dirty Verizon calls where they didn't leave a message and answered one of them.  It was billing wanting me to make a payment.  I had been paying monthly, and the same rate monthly but they were wanting more but they had not contacted me back.  I was hung up on 2 times in the IVR system then finally spoke to an agent.  She promised to have a supervisor on the line and after about 45 minutes of trying she promised they would call me back which they did not.  I then contacted VerizonWireless on Twitter having a very public expression of my ordeal and also getting quotes from Sprint and AT&T responding to those very Tweets. AT&T wants my service for $155/mo for 5 lines, 2 smartphones, 10GB shared Data, unlimited talk and text which is very comparable to what I have been paying Verizon without the $50 line charges.   I finally was able to get an Executive support person on the phone and she was rude, un-understanding, and ended up rudely hanging up on me.  I called back to support and wanted to complain against her and her refusal to escalate along with the hangup.  I was promised again a callback.  At one point I had told the Executive support exactly what I want out of this situation.... either:
    1) Correct the billing, Remove the $50 monthly charges as my verbal agreement in the initial sales call was defined.
    or
    2) Remove all charges, no disconnect charges, we can wash our hands of each other and I will begin anew with AT&T.
Before hanging up on me she offered a $200 one time credit but no permanent billing fix. She welcomed the disconnection of my service and offered no termination charges for one of my 2 lines still in contract.  I informed her I did not consider being within any contract once they breeched it by adding charges that were not agreed to in the original sales call/contract.
After contacting Customer Service again the agent I spoke with was appalled by the way I was treated and assured me they would escalate to the level beyond the agent who hung up on me and promised a callback.  She also noted that the account shows they had offered a $200 credit every 4 months which exactly offsets those monthly charges and I told her that was EXACTLY the kind of thing that could resolve this for us and I was good with that.  She said she would apply the credit and it should show up within 3 business days.  I continued to check and almost 2 weeks passed. No credit has been added.
I called back again tonight 6/27 and asked the agent when the credit would be applied... She told me the credit was pending a supervisor approval and couldn't guarantee me that it will ever be applied.  I explained how many hours I worked on this and the time I have invested along with the mental anguish.  She wanted to consult with someone after she had me tell her the whole story again and was away from the phone for some times.  Once she came back she pushed the point everyone at Verizon wants to make telling me the promotion expired.  I had to keep explaining the promotion was only placed on my account to correct the billing issue caused by the rate the sales agent had sold the service to me.  I told her I didn't care what they wanted to call the price correction as long as my bill was back down to the affordable rate. She wasted 1 hour of my time tonight. Again I have the promise of a callback.  I thought 2 weeks again this issue was totally resolved but it appears it is happening again.
Now I must mention the other issues I have had with Verizon.  And the other hours of calls related to the LG phones sent to me originally and how I had to send d back 8 piece of junk phones with issues such as charging issues, non responding keys, screen not responding, microphone failure, etc. And the torture it took to get Verizon to send replacement Samsung phones for these units. Verizon wrongly made me purchase all of the back plates and batteries instead of providing those.
Another issue was he hassle I had with BestBuy where they couldn't sell me the phones due to Verizon having my Droid Charge showing up as an Unknown Device in the system. This disrupted the BestBuy system and cost me hours of support on the phone/ at the store/ backing up lines. Etc. Best Buy was at the point where they were just going to give us the phones because of all of the trouble.  All of the trouble stemmed from how Verizon changed the phone to an Unknown device in punishment for having an unlocked device.
Another issue was with coverage at my Son's college.  They had almost zero coverage and Verizon support put in a ticket to investigate.  They found it was due to coverage.  The agent that put in the ticket said they would provide him a range extender at no cost if they found it to be an issue with coverage.  When I called back to have the range extender shipped they balked. The person on the phone pretty much called me a liar and I had to go through executive support again to have the range extender sent to resolve his problems.
All said, Verizon has an investment in me, they have provided 2 range extenders. The have corrected errors that resulted in activation fees. They corrected pricing errors by adding a counter acting "promotion".  They still are more expensive than AT&T even without those line charges.  Why can't I just have the original deal honored. Why does my time and investment selecting a service, listening to a sales pitch, accepting a deal, not count for anything?  Why must I spend hours on the phone to get things corrected?  Why was I sold a non-standard plan?  Why do I have to shop again for service?  Why not just honor the original deal?  Why is Verizon more expensive than AT&T?  Why does Sprint/AT&T/ and T-mobile have better coverage locally than Verizon?
Please send this information to the CEO.

I'm not sure you fully read/understood my wordy post. A sales agent made an offer (verbal contract) which I used to select Verizon's service. There was no "pro ration" talk. I know most people probably physically travel to a dealer and make their wireless purchase, this was not the case for me. I did not sign a contract. I listened to the telephone salesman's sales pitch, entering into the contract on his word. I did not use any other method to "validate" his offer as I trusted him as an agent of Verizon Wireless and took his word much like you would accept the word of a car dealer if he told you the price of a car also included free oil changes and a free tank of gas monthly.  If you went to the dealer and they started charging for oil changes and gas after the sale was made based on the salesman's offer, it would be a breech of the verbal contract and it is very likely that a lawsuit would award the plaintiff a victory (If there was any way to prove the wording of the verbal contract). Lucky for me, Verizon  Wireless records their sales calls and a third party is engaged to verbally witness the contract "signing".  Though my wordy story is confusing due to the convolution Verizon has spun into this web, the issue here is entirely based on the initial offer I accepted from the sales agent. I would not have selected Verizon's service if the offer had been $50 more per month like they are now trying to charge me.
I understood your post just fine.  What I am pointing out is the fact that the customer agreement specifically states no other "contract," verbal or written, overrides the customer agreement.
"This agreement and the documents it incorporates form the entire agreement between us.  You can't rely on any other documents, or on what's said by any Sales or Customer Service Representatives, and you have no other rights regarding Service or this agreement. This agreement isn't for the benefit of any third party except our parent companies, affiliates, subsidiaries, agents, and predecessors and successors in interest.  Except where we've agreed otherwise elsewhere in this agreement, this agreement and any disputes covered by it are governed by federal law and the laws of the state encompassing the area code of your wireless phone number when you accepted this agreement, without regard to the conflicts of laws and rules of that state."
So, no, there was no other binding contract you or Verizon entered into.  Their customer agreement is quite clear about that.  No analogy or comparison to any other type of service or contract applies here.  You consented to the customer agreement which includes the above statement.   I am not saying I agree with it or like it, but that is the contract you agreed to.
The recorded call and third party witness won't help you.  It doesn't matter what the agent said, or what anyone witnessed other than the Verizon Wireless Customer Agreement.  Having said that, the contract for service doesn't include pricing, only that you will maintain service for the duration of the agreement.  The plan, pricing, and features are not part of it.  Neither is a guarantee of an employee discount.  If you have a discount that applies when you sign up for service and then change employers during that time, you will lose the original discount as it is not part of the contract.  Additionally, the customer agreement states that no class action lawsuits are allowed.

  • Wrvs4400n keep dropping wireless connection

    hi there,
has anyone got problem with  wrvs4400n keep dropping the wireless connection? i tried to find out anywhere but not much hints are given how to solve the issue.
i have 1.1.03 firmware installed, and currently running on
    b/g/n mixed on channel 9
    wpa2 personal mixed security
the rest of the settings on default
i had the router running for about 3 months and most of the time i have to either restart the server to get the wireless working again. normally the wireless works ok until few days when suddenly I just can't access the internet using the wireless.
once i replug my computer using cable, the wireless router suddenly can give me IP address and the wireless return back to normal.
    i have tried to use
    different channels
changing to G/N, and B/G mode
    change key renewal frequency
    reduce RTS Threashold
accessing the wireless router from 3 different wireless network card
none of them really works, normally after few days, 1 week top, i suddenly lost wireless connection again. the SSID still there, i can authenticate, somehow the wireless just won't give me IP address
checking the website, it seems like i'm on the latest firmware from linksys and they don't seem updating the firmware anymore, is this product not supported anymore?
anyone knows of the same problem ? or has already solved the issue?

    Hey Stewey,
I have a similar problem with my iMac G5. My roommate, who has an HP, bought a Linksys WRT54G when we moved in to our place and it gives me trouble with Airport sometimes. We use G only and WPA Personal. I updated the firmware in February and I swear it got a bit better, but it still goes out sometimes. If I move it just a few inches in any direction, generally it will start working again. Resetting it also helps sometimes. I don't know if its the fact that it doesn't say it's compatible with any Mac on the box, but it's annoying as all ****. My roomie rarely has problems with it (our rooms are the same distance away from the router), but my friend brought his PB over to do some work and he had trouble in my room as well. Is it Linksys, or is it Airport? I have no idea. Our router is out in the living room, next to the TV and Xbox 360, so it might be interference. If possible, try moving the router to higher ground and away from other electronics.
I tried looking up your router online to see if I could find anything else out. Didn't find too much info, but it says that you get free 24 hour tech support. You don't see that too often. If you can't figure it out, give them a call.
    Good luck!

  • WRT320N & IBM T42 laptop keeps dropping wireless connection at key times

I have an IBM T42 laptop whihc keeps dropping the wireless connection at what seems to be the same time windows each day.
I have my cable modem connected to my WRT320N.
My wireless it set up as follows :
    Manual configuration
Wireless Band = 2.4Ghz (Think it needs to be this for the T42 wireless).
    Network Mode = Mixed
    Channel Width = 20Mhz only
    Channel = 2
It seems to be that at approx 8pm each night when using the latop downstairs, the wireless connection will drop and then fail to reconnect for a period of time. I reboot the laptop and it will then begin to work again. The wireless connection does seem to keep trying to connect but it cannot maintain the connection to the router.
    Any ideas?

Well I've pretty much given up trying to get this router to work so have spoken to the supplier I bought it off who said it's now discontinued by Linksys - all support is through them now. Took it up with them went through all the steps I've done to try and troubleshoot it (helps to be an IBM engineer as I logically follow procedures through).
I've RMA''d the router and hope it's replacement works better. I've just unbricked my old WRT54GS to make do whilst I wait for a replacement - back down to 100mb traffic - I'll miss my gigabit switch for a while!

  • L875D-S7332 keeps dropping wireless connection

    HELP!!!
I have 4 Toshiba laptops that will not stay connected to the internet. They keep dropping the wireless. My latest one L875D-S7332 has Windows 8 which is the the biggest PITA yet.
All of them drop the internet though. I have reset the Yubi router, updated all of the drivers, have unchecked the shut the device down checkbox. Nothing works.
I am seeing this is almost a recall issue for Toshiba. I even called Toshiba and they had no help. They were going to escalate to Level 2 but I never received a response.
Anyone have any other thing I can try.
It is in device mgr and it says it is working fine.
    Thanks
    Jack

It is the power saver setting. I realize the original poster may have already given up or moved on but for the benefit of others you want to make sure your power setting is on high performance. The easiest way to do this is to click the battery icon at the bottom right of your screen. Go into the settings or advanced settings and simply change to high performance. Yes, it will cause your battery to have less life but you won't be tempted to throw your laptop out the window for dropping your wifi continuously.

  • Why does my Macbook Pro keep dropping its wireless connection?

    Hi everyone,
Last year I purchased a 2013 Macbook Pro 13". Everything had been working well up until yesterday afternoon. My wi-fi connection keeps dropping roughly every 5 minutes for no apparent reason, with an exclamation mark flashing over the signal strength icon. It runs on Mavericks with all software updates etc. up to date. I live in a student house with 7 other people, so the network could be overburdened, though it's been fine until now. I've reset Safari, deleted info regarding the wireless network and reinstalled it, and deleted all the keychain info, but it hasn't really helped.
I would be grateful for any responses, thanks!

    Hello aidenhh,
Thank you for the details of the issue you are experiencing with Wi-Fi on your MacBook.  I would be concerned about this too.
I recommend following the steps in the section labeled, "Symptom: The network connection drops unexpectedly" in the following article to resolve an issue like the one you described:

  • I've read others' posts on this issue and still need an answer that works. Safari keeps dropping wireless; no issues on a Dell laptop with XP in same room. Cleared cache, etc. - any other ideas?

I've read others' posts on this issue and still don't have an answer that works!  Safari keeps dropping wireless connection every 5 - 10 minutes (it's gotten progressively worse over the last month). My husband, sitting 10 ft across from me, has no issues on a Dell laptop with XP so doesn't appear to be the router or ISP. Safari v5.0.6 Mac OS 10.5.8. Cleared cache, tried kill commands in Terminal, restarts, etc. Only restarting seems to keep it at bay for a period, but then it will start again. Any other ideas?

You posted a question about a problem connecting a Mac to a wireless router. You have an old Dell laptop that works well with that router.
I pointed you to a brief discussion with another poster who had a problem connecting a Mac to a wireless router. He had an old Dell laptop that worked well with that router. I suggested he upgrade the router firmware. He upgraded it, and the problem was solved. Another poster in that thread did the same thing, and his problem was also solved. Within the last day or two, I made the same suggestion to a third poster in another thread, and his problem was solved too.
Conclusion: Upgrading the router firmware helps sometimes.
If I understand your response, you think that checking for a firmware update isn't even worth a try. Am I missing something?

  • Airport keeps dropping the wireless connection to my network 2 or 3 times a day.

    Hi,
Since apple's recent firmware update for my macbook pro, airport keeps dropping the wireless connection to my network 2 or 3 times a day. It then searches for a network but can't find it, but if I select my network manually it connects immediately ???
Any fixes for this ..... in layman's language please!
    Thanks,
    Steve

It is not the router. There are a number of factors that are involved. If the router is a G/N router you may have to switch to G-Only (or disable N). You may also have a 5 GHz wireless phone or other routers in the neighborhood interfereing with the signal.
    Try this:
    1. Open network preferences. Take note of what IP address is assigned. Then, click Advanced.
    2. Click on TCP/IP and select Using DHCP with manual address and type the IP address below that.
    3. Click OK.
    4. Set your Router to Wireless-G only (or disable N) and change the channel to 11 or some higher number.
This should keep it from dropping the wireless connection. It is a bug in the OS. Apple has not fixed it in 3 years.
You wireless connection will be a tad slower, but you really won't notice.
    Hope that helps.

What operating system?  There is an update for "Windows 7 Critical Update to enhance reliability of network connection", the version for 64 bit Windows 7 is here. If you have a different operating system check HP's download page for your appropriate operating system and look for updates.

  • Wireless devices keep dropping, Wired works 24/7

    Hi,
We have had bt infinity in our home for a few months now, and only in the past few weeks we have been having constant problems with wireless devices. We have one computer wired, one wireless and a few other devices such as tablets phones etc. The connection on all the wireless devices keeps dropping with no response, while the wired one is still working perfectly. The problem is becoming more frequent than ever, I spoke to tech support at BT who told me to log onto my router and change the channel to 11 but since then, zero improvements.
When i troubleshooted the internet connection problem on the wireless pc, i got the message
" internet connection doesnt have a valid ip configuration"
Can anyone help? or is my hub giving up the ghost?
    Thanks!
