Satellite L - Water damage and laptop won't power up

Hi,
I'm not sure if this is the right forum for this, but was just wondering if somebody could give me some advice. My brother spilt some water on my laptop 3 days ago (argh!). It immediately switched off and wouldn't start up again. I dabbed it up as best I could, removed the battery and positioned it in a V-shape to try and help it dry out. It's still failing to boot. When I plug the adaptor in, the screen remains blank but there's a very faint whirring sound and the LEDs blink:
The power LED blinks green very clearly
The battery LED blinks green faintly
The hard drive LED blinks green VERY faintly
I'm really hoping the laptop's not dead and that I'll at least be able to recover my hard drive, but it's looking unlikely. I'd really appreciate any advice that anyone can give me with regard to what might be wrong or how I can fix it.
Thanks for taking the time to read this.

Hello
Which notebook you have exactly?
I think in this case you should contact an ASP and ask a technician for help. They can check the notebook and replace all necessary parts.
If you want to recover the data on the HDD you can use an external HDD case for this. Remove the HDD from the notebook, put it in the case and connect it to an other notebook or PC. If the HDD is not faulty you can backup your data.
