Satellite L750 is not working

Hi,
I recently bought Toshiba laptop L750.
When started it up, I had mistakenly closed windows 7 64bit.
during the recovery loading process, i decided to click on cancel button.
After 10mins or so, it didnt do anything (seemed froze),
and then press the power button to force shut down.
When I turned it on again,
the screen showed a window saying like "loading Toshiba recovery software, please wait".
its been displaying that for over 5hrs.
I tried reboot it again with holding on the 0 button,
but when it turned on, screen went blank,
and it creates a loud BEEP noises from the laptop.
After that, I shut it down and never turn on again.
Im just worried my action on cancelling the recovery n force shut down,
might be cause the problem.
If theres a way to fix it, please help.
Thank you

You have made big mistake and I dont understand why you have interrupted OS installation. Now the access to recovery image is screwed up and Im afraid you will not be able to fix this.
One more thing: after reading your posting Im thinking you didnt even read users manuals document. Have you?
Recovery image installation can be started with F8 and not zero button at start up. You can try to start it again but I doubt it will work.

  • Satellite L750 keyboard not working properly

I bought my laptop in January 2012. About a month ago the Tab key stopped working as did several of the letter keys. Every time I use the CTRL key it affects the zoom so I have to reset.
I have plugged in an external keyboard but even it is having problems. When I use the Shift key when typing in some internet sites I am closed out of the site. Right now I am typing this in Notepad and I am going to copy it into the website forum because every time I try to use the shift key to type a capital letter I am booted out of the site. Very frustrating.
Does anybody else suffer from these problems? And, I would have thought that the keyboard should last longer than 13 months. Would my laptop still be under warranty for this problem?

    Hi
If you have the same problems using the external USB keyboard then I have to say that probably this issue isnt related to faulty keyboard.
Did you check if this happens after the system has been recovered?
I would recommend testing the notebook with factory settings.
If the problem would still persist, ask the Toshiba authorized service point for hardware check. In worst case it might be an motherboard problem

  • The function key in my Satellite C660 is not working

The function key in my Toshiba Satellite C660 is not working except for volume.
That problem appeared after i changed something in the startup programs and uninstalling as i remember tvap and no button support appears in my start up programs :(

That unbelievable I did something wrong..
First of all you have to install VAP. Then reboot the notebook.
Download and install Flash Cards Utility and reboot the notebook again.
Now go to Start -> All Programs -> Toshiba -> Utilities -> Flash Cards and restart this software.
Now the FN buttons should work.
But before you would start the whole installation, you should uninstall the VAP and Flash Cards and should clean the registry using CCleaner as suggested by some users hare in the forum!

  • Satellite L750 will not power on

    Hello.
I have recently acquired a Satellite L750 laptop which has an issue where it will not power on but annoyingly it teases me by working perfectly on rare occasions to it seems to me as though there is some hope for it. When I press the power button the power LED will turn on for a second or 2 then go off again, the fan does not spin up at all and neither does the hard drive.
I first got it working by holding the escape key while pressing the power button, I was able to access the BIOS menu but I left it overnight after that. In the morning it failed to turn on again, this time it stayed powered on (i.e. fan, HDD and lights were on) but it didn't seem to POST correctly as there was no hard drive activity or anything on screen. This was fixed by relocating the only RAM module from one slot to the other, after this it was working perfectly again and I was able to use it for about 4 hours with no signs of any problems what so ever until I shut it off.
24 hours later the laptop is back to it's original problem where only the power LED will turn on for a second then the whole thing shuts off again. I have tried the escape key thing as before, relocating the ram several times, removing the CMOS battery for a few minutes but nothing works. I have removed each component one by one and tried powering on but the problem remains. I have swapped the RAM module with a known working one. The power supply appears fine even when under a 10 ohm load. There does not appear to be any visually damaged components on the motherboard.
If anyone has any idea what so ever then I'd love to hear it, be as technical as you want.

    Hi
All you have done is right but Im afraid your possibilities to detect the main problem are very limited and on some point it should be checked by technicians.
As far as I know technicians have several procedures how to handle with such issues and exact instructions how to go forward with troubleshooting.
    Several procedures are important:
    1/ Message check (error message)
2/ Diagnostic Test Program Execution check (errors detection)
    3/ Connector and Replacement check
On this virtual way it is not easy to say what is wrong there but system board is probably the troublemaker.
What are your options? Search for other mainboard and replacement maybe?

  • Satellite L300 - Wireless not working at all

    Hi everyone,
Im new here and my name is Jodie. My husband and I bought new laptops a couple of weeks ago, the Satellite L300.
On my husbands one the wireless just stopped working, the switch is on but no light is on. I've tried FN and F8 is says the wireless is not working. I then checked in the device manager under netwrok adapters to see if it said the same as mine and the Wireless Adapter has vanished? It's the Atheros AR5007EG Wireless Netwrok Adapter.
Can anyone help? Can't bellieve this has happened and they are only 2 weeks old :(
    Thanks Guys
    Jodie

    >Can't bellieve this has happened and they are only 2 weeks old
I understand what you mean but if you check this forum and all questions here your problem is not so complicated. You cannot even imagine which problems people have with notebooks. Sometimes I ask myself what people do with notebooks. :)
Back to your problem: Jodie if there is no way to get WLAN to work I recommend you to use most radical but most effective way to test WLAN functionality install OS again using HDD recovery image. After doing this you will have factory state and all hardware components should be installed properly.
Enable WLAN using WLAN switch, be sure WLAN is enabled with FN+F8 and scan the area.
    It must work.

  • Satellite L750 will not open path

    I have a new Satellite L750.
I am trying to do a course on my computer which I have purchased the disc for.
The course has paths to click on that are to link up with the files downloaded from the disc supplied to a folder in WINDOWS (C:) Program Files(x86).
The problem I am getting is that the path fails and a warning window comes up saying the path file can not be found, On looking at the file information on the warning window, it appears that the file has been doubled to include an extra WINDOWS (C:) Program Files(x86) so it reads: C:\Program Files(x86)\C:\Program Files(x86)\...........................
So obviously it will not find the file.
Why is it doing this, and how can I cure it.
It would make doing the course so much easier.
I have contacted the course provider and they are not sure why this is happening.
Also what is the difference between Program Files and Program Files(x86) folders.
    Anybody got a clue.

    > Why is it doing this, and how can I cure it.
Do you really think that this is a problem with a computer or Windows system software?
    I doubt.
Firstly I would trying to copy the content of the disk to the new created folder.
Then go to this folder and check if there is a file like autostart or index which needs to be started firstly.
    > Also what is the difference between Program Files and Program Files(x86) folders.
    The difference is simply:
I assume you are using Windows 64bit so Program Files refers to the 64bit programs and Program Files(x86) folder refers to 32bit applications.

  • Satellite M35 - Brightness Not working with WXP SP2

After formatting and installing XP SP2, Brighness function keys do not work. Can anyone please point me to what type of drivers I need to download to get the Brightness working? I tried to install Power Saver from Toshiba site BUT I get error messages. Nto sure if this driver is for Service Pack 2 of XP.
Any assistance you can give in getting the M35 Satellite Brightness working with XP Service Pack 2 would be appreciate.
    Thank you in advance.

    Hello
Try please to install Toshiba Hotkey Utility for Display Devices for Windows XP. I dont know if just this utility is responsible for that but fact is that you should install all Toshiba specific stuff and combination of those tools result with full functionality.
If you dont have Tools & Utilities CD please check Toshiba US download page and there you will find everything you need.

  • TV tuner on my Satellite A660 would not work

    Hi,
I purchased a Toshiba Satellite A660-07S a couple of months ago and then reinstalled the Windows 7 32 bit system in order to have a few more partitions. But I did not delete the hidden partition from the system just in case I have to restore to factory settings.
Now I have moved to an remote area and need some TV but only to find out that the tuner was not working. It is detected properly under sound and gaming devices in device manager. Yet when I use windows media center to scan channels. The WMC just said the software had encountered a serious error and please retry.
Then I tried to use Blaze DTV which is also a very popular DTV software. It successfully recognised the Tuner but will not scan either.
I did a bit of research and used the TV tuner setup trouble-shooter from Windows 7. The warning message is that "the Tuner is not properly configured to be used in Windows Media Center". And the details show that the tuner is connected but not enabled for WMC.
But how can I enable the tuner for WMC then?
Really hope someone can help as I am freaking out now in a remote town in NT.
    Thanks!

Sounds like Windows or WMC may be corrupted. I would try a System Restore to revert the system back to a previous date.
Also ensure the channel width in WMC is set to 7mhz, not 8mhz.
    Also update the BIOS.
If that's no help, then back up your important data and run Recovery to reimage the HDD back to its factory state.
To run Recovery, turn on the notebook and hold the 0 (Zero) key down.
You should create Recovery Discs first, there should be an icon on the Desktop, or use the Toshiba Recovery Disc Creator from the Start Menu.
Now if it still doesn't work after a fresh Windows install, then there could be a hardware problem. In which case, you would need to send the notebook to a Toshiba Service Center.

  • Satellite L670 touchpad not working

Hi! I have a Satellite L670 (no other numbers/letters after that). I recently took it apart to clean the fan that was not working. I got that fixed, but now the touchpad will not work. It recognizes a USB mouse. I have tried the FN+F9 feature and it didnt help. I get a message saying "Synaptis Pointing Device Driver is not syncing". I have uninstalled, reinstalled and still no such luck. Any suggestions or did taking apart to clean possibly damage something?

To others with the same problem.
I did the fan clean and put it back together only to find the trackpad was not working.  I opened it up again (this time only from the keyboard end, and lo and behold, there was a small connector that I had overlooked and not connected back - probably because when I removed the back, it had come out of its own accord, and I hadn't clocked that it needed to be reconnected.
You can access the trackpad connector vie the keyboard side of the laptop once you remove the keyboard.  It's quite small, but is accessible through a cut out part of the plastic underside.
Once reconnected you will probably need to reboot computer, especially if you only put it into hibernation to start with.  You may need to reinstall drivers, but I didn't have to.

  • Satellite L655 - Sound not working on fresh install of Windows 7 Pro x64

    Howdy all,
I purchased an L655-S5111 from Newegg that was on sale, put an SSD into it, and then installed a legitimate copy of Windows 7 Professional 64-bit I received from my current employer (I'm an IT guy). I've updated to the latest BIOS revision (1.70), and I've got all Windows updates installed, all drivers installed, including the correct Conexant HD Audio and ATI HDMI Audio drivers. Unfortunately, sound does not work. Sound worked briefly when I first installed Windows 7, then I muted it until I could get it set up with headphones. When I unmuted it, it had ceased to work.
This laptop is less than 3 weeks old at this point, and I get no audio over headphones or speakers, although Windows clearly shows no issues with the drivers, they're the latest version, on a fresh install, and I can see the audio in the mixer playing. The microphone built-in to the laptop does pick up sound as well. I believe that this is most likely not an issue of physical interconnection, but more likely a software level issue, I'm just having trouble identifying where it is at.
I also have no related error messages anywhere in the event logs.

I have two problems with installing the recovery image:
    1) I didn't get a copy of the recovery media with the system
    2) The recovery media would install Windows 7 Home Premium 64bit which is what came with the laptop.
Since I have legitimately licensed copies of Windows 7 Pro/Enterprise 64-bit, I would much rather install that. Since I used the drivers and software from the Toshiba website for this particular model, it should be working. There should be no functional difference between the recovery media and a fresh Windows install from the Microsoft-provided Windows media and Toshiba provided drivers from their website.
As you can see in the sysinfo (I'm assuming Keany the respondent is the admin that approved my post and edited it, thus had access to the data which was removed) I have all the Toshiba software and drivers installed, identically to if this was the recovery image, I just have it on a different edition of Windows 7.
I'm open to any other suggestions, but unfortunately it is not possible to do the above.

  • Satellite L750 will not register external devices

About a few days ago my wireless mouse, a Logitech M325, stopped working. I replaced the batteries and performed tests with official software and determined that the USB port was not being read. Soon after I noticed that my iPod would not sync or charge and would not open in Windows Explorer (I use Windows 7).
Additionally none of my SD Cards will be read on my computer.
Please help, this is very frustrating and I'd like it to be fixed ASAP!

You could try to reinstall the USB hubs and controllers which are available in device manager.
Disconnect all external USB devices firstly. Then go to control panel -> device manager.
Here scroll down and find the USB hubs and controllers.
Delete each USB device and reboot the system.
After new reboot, it will take some time until windows system has recognized and installed the USB ports again.
Then you should connect an USB mouse and should test the port functionality.
Even if your wireless mouse would not work again, I strongly recommend to test the USB ports in connection with different USB devices like USB flash memory stick or different USB mouse
Just because one USB device does not work, this does not mean that your USB ports are faulty.

  • DVD-Rom drive in Satellite C655-S5128 not working properly in Windows 8

I recently upgraded my system from Windows 7 to Windows 8. However, the DVD-Rom drive after the upgrade no longer works properly -- it now treats the pre-recorded disk as if it was completely blank. I tried reinstalling the Toshiba Disc Creator, but that did not work.
    Any solution?

You apparently did not use the Toshiba Upgrade Assistant in upgrading to Windows 8.  See HERE for DVD and Disk Creator problems occurring during the upgrade and solutions.
