Save action redirects to Process Request

Hi
I have a page with multiple tabs on it, and a "Save" button on the page. When I creae a new record and click Save, it's going back to Process Request and considering that as a new record and trying to create a new record. I am not sure why it's redirecting to process request.. Any ideas ?
Thanks!!
Ravi

When I creae a new record and click Save, it's going back to Process Request and considering that as a new record and trying to create a new record.
What's wrong with that? Save action has to save the record somewhere? What is your expectation on the click of Save button?

  • How to clear grey loading screen and animated gif (Dynamic Action with "Show Processing" on submit)

    APEX V4.2.3
    DB 11.2
    I have a classic report on page 1.  I have a region button called "Export" (defined by a submit dynamic action with "show processing=Yes") that submits the page and then via a branch directs me to page 2 which has a slightly different version of the report on page 1 (i.e. no breaks) which I want to capture as a CSV export.  Therefore I've set the report template on page 2 to " Export:CSV".
    Now when I click on the page 1 export button the grey screen and loading gif appears indicating that the report is executing and then as expected, page 2 doesn't appear but instead the standard open/save window's dialog box appears asking to open or save the generated CSV file.  All good..but the grey loading screen remains.  How do I clear this loading screen and get back to the context of page 1 ?
    thanks in advance
    PaulP

    Hi PPlatt,
    We would love to help but you left out one crucial part of the puzzle: namely how does your CSV report get exported. With the way it is setup (a redirect to another page), I'm going to assume you do that because you have some PL/SQL on that page that prints the CSV.
    Now there are two questions that are crucial here:
    - How do we stop the icon from bugging us on the screen
    - How do we communicate with the browser that it should no longer display the loading icon
    The first question is rather easy, two simply lines of codes can do that:
    $('#apex_wait_popup').hide();
    $('#apex_wait_overlay').hide();
    But when do we use this code? Quite simple when the document is downloaded. When is it downloaded? At the end of the PL/SQL code that prints the document to the browser.
    What you could do is at the end of that code give an application item a certain value. For example :AI_PRINTED := 'Y';
    Then all you need to do is let the browser ask for the value. You could do this by using JavaScript to continuously fire AJAX to the server using a JS timing event:
    http://www.w3schools.com/js/js_timing.asp
    Better would be a Server send event, but since you left out another crucial piece of information: your browser, I will not go deeper into this.
    Start this timing event when someone asks for the document, and end it as soon as the process returns that :AI_PRINTED equals 'Y'.
    Despite the lack of information, I hope I have given, or at least inspired you to get to the solution.
    Regards,
    Joni

  • Is it possible in a before-page-submit dynamic action to cancel processing?

    I have a page where when the user submits, I check certain conditions and prompt the user with a confirmation ("are you really sure you want to submit this...?") and if they press OK (javascript true) continue to submit as normal, else (javascript false) the page should stop submitting.
    I know I can do this by putting Javascript code on whatever buttons I need to such that they're prompted from whatever appropriate button but I then thought it might be more elegant to just put it in one place in a before-page-submit DA.
    So I figured that in my DA for a before-page-submit I'd try explicitly returning true or false thinking that I returned true it would continue to submit but if false it would stop submitting. Unfortunately no dice.
    Example:
    Dynamic Action
    Before Page Submit
    Condition (Javascript Expression): (this.data=="SAVE")||(this.data=="MULTI_ROW_DELETE")
    var response=checkPbcDml();
    alert(response); //for debugging and I do properly get true or false back
    if(!response)
      return(false);
    else
      return(true);So I'd like return(false) to stop the submission process (was only guessing that it'd work, and it doesn't). Is there any other javascript command that I could execute to cancel the submission processing?
    Yes I know that I really can do this on my buttons and it'll work...
    javascript:if(checkPbcDml())apex.confirm(htmldb_delete_message,'DELETE');
    javascript:if(checkPbcDml())apex.submit('SAVE');...but was just hoping to do something in the DA as a matter of elegance to put code in one place rather than two places.

    Personally, I'd just try to utilise the confirm action - probably achieved by incorporating the checkPbcDml() function into the dynamic action condition, at the sime time you are checking the request value.Aha! That's it.
    The "Confirm" DA action's OK/Cancel response is evaluated by the "Before Page Submit" and cancels the processing.
    What I did was:
    1. Looked at my old function's conditions:
    function checkPbcDml()
      if (($v('P265_FREEZE_FLAG')=='Y') && ($v('P265_PUR_MFG')=='M'))
        return(true);
      else
        return(confirm("Part Bid Categories information will only be saved from this page for frozen &F182_MAKE_TEXT. parts.\nDo you want to continue with this action anyway?"));
    }2. Appended them to the existing DA conditions that were evaluating the save or multi-row-delete request:
    ((this.data=="SAVE")||(this.data=="MULTI_ROW_DELETE")) && (!(($v('P265_FREEZE_FLAG')=='Y') && ($v('P265_PUR_MFG')=='M')))3. And created a Confirm action with that message text and removed my checkPbcDml() function.

  • How to automatically confirm check pay run (payment process request) in R12

    Payment Method = check
    The payment process profile (ppp) settings are as follows:
    Processing Type=Printed
    Payment Completion Point = When the Payment Instruction is Formatted
    Default Payment Document= blank/null
    Payment File=Send to File
    My question is this. Is it possible or how do you configure oracle payments (PAYMENT PROCESS PROFILE [PPP] and/or PAYMENT PROCESS REQUEST [PPR])for check payments created as a file output like you have in 'EFT' instead of printing the checks and CONFIRM the PPR/payments AUTOMATICALLY after the checks/payments have been formatted.
    The reason we are doing this is because we want an external agency to print the checks for my organisation.
    What is happening at the moment is that the PPR runs and the payments file is created successfully. At this point, the PPR is in 'FORMATTED - READY FOR RECORDING' status. The PPR then remain in this status until it is manually confirmed by clicking the 'Take Action' icon in the 'payment instruction' tab and then clicking on 'CONFIRM'.
    If the PPR is left in the above status, then the next submitted check pay run errors because the payment document(s) are still locked by the pay run that is in the 'Formatted - Ready for Recording' state.
    If it is not possible to configure Oracle payments to auto confirm the check pay run of this type, is an API available that can be called to confirm check payments - once they are in the formatted status.
    I've looked at the following notes in 'My Oracle Support', but they are not much use.
    Note 1097547.1 is related to bug 8781032 which talks about "Automatic Initiate when Payment Process Request is Complete".
    and then Note 1215392.1 relates to enhancement request.

  • Problem configuring SSO: "Oracle SSO Warning - Unable to process request"

    I'm having difficulty getting a sample application to work with SSO, and I was hoping someone could point me in to the right direction.
    We've got 2 separate systems, call them ASserver and SSOserver. ASserver is running Oracle 9i AS, SSOserver is the infrastructure server (e.g. OID and SSO).
    The application runs just fine on ASserver without SSO.
    I made the change to mod_osso.conf so that the URL for the application is now protected, and added a partner application entry to the application (more on that in a moment).
    When I go to the URL for the partner application, the browser is properly redirected to the SSO server and I am prompted to log in. After logging in, I get an error page with the error "Oracle SSO Warning - Unable to process request" (the URL is something like http://<ASserver>/osso_login_success?urlc=... etc).
    Several questions:
    - can my servlet just be a plain servlet, or does it need to do the various things described in the "SSO Application Developer's Guide"?
    - when configuring the partner application on the SSO server, are success url and logout url supposed to be the osso_login_success and osso_logout_success URLs? Should they be on the ASserver or the SSOserver?
    Any other recommendations?
    Thanks,
    dwh

    Okay, solved. I am pretty sure I was suffering from the condition described in metalink Note:227221.1, "Oracle SSO Warning Logging On to Midtier Using Mozilla Based Browser" (http://metalink.oracle.com/metalink/plsql/ml2_documents.showNOT?p_id=227221.1)
    although it was happening in IE as well.
    Essentially, I modified the entry for the partner application to change the port numbers from 7778 to 7777, and now it works.
    I think I also had several entries for the app server in the SSO server, and I don't know which one it was using. I got rid of all of them except the one named <oraclehome>.<restofdomain>, e.g. oas.foobar.com, where "oas" is the name of my app server's Oracle home.

  • JDBC receiver adapter - Error processing request in sax parser

    Hello,
    I want to INSERT idoc data via JDBC adapter into a MS SQL database. After digging through SAP Help, numerous blogs and forum discussions on SDN and even posting an OSS message I still get the same error:
    'Error: TransformException error in xml processor class: Error processing request in sax parser: No 'action' attribute found in XML document (attribute "action" missing or wrong XML structure)'
    When testing my mapping in the Integration Repository the resulting XML message is:
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
    <ns0:Employee xmlns:ns0="http://prodrive.nl/xi/HRMasterdata/HRMD_A_2_d_bcommerp">
       <STATEMENT>
          <T_PD_Employees action="INSERT">
             <access>
                <KeyTag>00088888</KeyTag>
                <PerNo>00088888</PerNo>
             </access>
          </T_PD_Employees>
       </STATEMENT>
    </ns0:Employee>
    The connection to the database is fine, Sender adapter with a SELECT * works perfect.
    Can anyone help me solve this problem? I'm lost.
    Best regards,
    Roelof Jan Bouwknegt

    Hi Bhavesh,
    I have tried out the change you suggested. Without success. Message I get back is
    - 2006-12-28 10:34:08 CET: Error: TransformException error in xml processor class: Error processing request in sax parser: No 'action' attribute found in XML document (attribute "action" missing or wrong XML structure)
    structure in testtool:
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
    <ns0:Employee xmlns:ns0="http://prodrive.nl/xi/HRMasterdata/HRMD_A_2_d_bcommerp">

             </ACCESS>
          </T_PD_Employees>
       </STATEMENT>
    </ns0:Employee>
    Somehow the SAX  parser doesn't like the result of my mapping. Maybe there is something wrong with the structure cardinality. Let me describe what I have built:
    XSD:
    WA_T_PD_Employees - Complex Type
    > STATEMENT - Element - Occurence = 1
    >> T_PD_Employees - Element - Occurence = 1
    >>> STATEMENT - Attribute - Occurence = optional
    >>> access - Element - Occurence = 1..Unbounded
    Best regards Roelof Jan and thanks for your quick response

  • Error processing request - APEX 4.2.0.00.27

    Hi,
    In application that I'm working on, there is possibility to create a new system user.
    After the user is created, user manages to log-in and system asks for new password.
    After you change the password for the first time, you are redirected to page that just says „Changed password“ and there is only one button „Return“.
    I presume that this is some APEX internal/system page.
    When you click on that button, it shows error:
         Error processing request.
         ORA-01403: no data found
    This happens only when trying log-in for the first time!
    Can someone  help with this error?
    Is that some APEX internal error/bug?
    many thanks
    regards,
    Danijel

    Hi Tward,
    I'm doing some JQuery ToolTip stuff for an Interactive Report... It always works for the first page, but if I search on something.. After pressing the "GO" button the tooltips no longer workWhen you press 'Go' button, the report region refreshes via AJAX. So any 'bind's you made on page load are gone. So you should use 'live' instead of 'bind'
    See http://api.jquery.com/live/
    If you view the Source (and it says "Original Source" in the titlebar of Internet Explorer), the Source appears to be the same as the original Interactive Report.
    Does that make sense... What is being displayed on the screen is not what is in the "View Source" window...IE is not for Developers. 'Inspect the report' using Firebug in Firefox. You can see exactly what is happening.

    Hari

    Hi Nicola,
    This error occurs when the receiver side structure is incorrect.
    Your structure seems to be correct.
    Please use lower case for action, access and table.
    Please check whether the field names are exactly the same as in the actual Database table sadmt1.SPE106TST.
    Check if the table has permissions to write.
    You can try an alternate structure without using table tag.

    Hi All,
    I am using ALSB 2.6.
    In the project, i have requirement to do transformation of incoming request with CData Tag and getting a response from the remote service.
    I have configured the Proxy Service and Business Service with a message route in which transformation is happening using replace action and adding a XSLT there.
    While sending the request from ALSB Test Console , its doing the transformation correctly as follows:

    Can any one guide me what to do regarding this, where i am going wrong.
    Please try to reply as soon as possible. Its an urgent issue.

    That error you're getting is a typical error message from Windows web services. It simply means there was something unspecified that was wrong with your message. You'll need to find a way to extract the actual message being sent in both the "good" and "bad" cases and look at the differences. You can do that in ALSB with a "Log" action.

  • Save "Actions"

    Is there a way in FCE to save "actions" similar to what can be done in Photoshop?
    Example- You come up with process you like on applying "Ken Burns effect" to pictures. Is there a way to save this and apply as you come to other pictures you would like to apply the same effect instead of going through all the steps to accomplish each time?
    Thanks

    Yes-
    Select the clip you have on the timeline that has the filters and effects applied that you like and want to use on other clips.
    Type Command - C to copy the clip.
    Now select the clip or clips (shift-clicking to select multiple clips) that you want to apply the same filters and effects to and type Option - V.
    A dialog box will open that allows you to choose what attributes of the clip you have copied to apply to the selected clip or clips. Make your choice and click OK, and they will all be applied.
    Note that if the clips you have selected to paste the attributes to are of different length, you may want to uncheck "Scale Attribute Times", or the motions will be lengthened or shortened to fit the length of the clip you are pasting in to.
    Hope this helps.

  • Save or Export Batch Processing

    I have created several different batch processing in Acrobat 9 for Windows to reduce the size of PDF files as well as OCR the files.
    I do the same thing with Acrobat 10 and I can easily export the processes (it's called Actions) and reimport them into another computer with Acrobat 10 installed.
    My question is, how do I save/export those batch processing steps in Acrobat 9 so I can re-import them when I needed?

    Thanks for the super fast reply. I found them under (it's WinXP OS):
    C:\Documents and Settings\%username%\Application Data\Adobe\Acrobat\9.0\Sequences
