Save and exit

Hi ,
I have a problem. When I click on "X" (top-right corner) to exit program, I 'd like to ask confirmation.
I have implented windowListener and in windowclosing I have put confirmation instructions. If user click on "Cancel" the program do not must exit .To do this I have used "return", but it does not works (program always exit ).
How can I resolve?
thanks

You have to set the defaultCloseOperation of your jframe to DO_NOTHING_ON_CLOSE and in case the user raelly wants to close you have to do it manually.

  • What happened to the Bookmark all Tabs/Save and Exit/Open previous session feature in 4.0? If this has been taken out then 4.0 is of no use to me. I'll have to go back to 3.6

    In 3.6 when ever I closed the browser with multi tabs open it would give me the option to Save and Exit. Then when I reopened the browser it would give me the option to open the previous session. I could also bookmark all open tabs. All of these features appear to no longer be present in 4.0. If this is the case I will be forced to uninstall and reinstall 3.6.

    Bookmark All Tabs - you can get it when you right-click on a tab, or use keyboard shortcut Control+Shift+D.
    Firefox now always stores the old session, and you can access it by going to the History menu and selecting "Restore Previous Session"
    If you want Firefox to display the message to save the session, it can be turned back on by changing some preferences.
    # Type '''about:config''' into the location bar and press enter
    # Accept the warning message that appears, you will be taken to a list of preferences
    # Locate the preference '''browser.tabs.warnOnClose''', if its value is set to '''false''', double-click on it to change its value to '''true'''
    # Repeat this for these 3 preferences '''browser.warnOnQuit''', '''browser.warnOnRestart''' and '''browser.showQuitWarning'''
    If you always open the last set of tabs, an alternative approach is this:
    # Click the orange Firefox button, then select options to open the options window
    # Go to the General panel
    # Change the setting "When Firefox starts" to "Show my windows and tabs from last time"

  • My iPod now loses my Klondike scores/settings after I "save and exit".  How can I fix this?

    After my last iTunes sync, my iPod loses my Klondike scores/settings after I "save and exit".  How can I fix this?

    I'd try a hard reset, you have nothing to lose.  If that doesn't help and you can shut off the iPod (i.e. the white screen becomes black) you can try to recover it: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1808
    If that still does not fix the problem and it was Apple that replaced the iPod, return it to them, you have a 90 Day Warranty.  If you replaced the screen yourself,  I have no idea if you did something wrong in the repair or if the replacement screen was defective.  That is the main risk of a self repair.  I doubt whether Apple will do an out-of-warranty repair on an iPod that has been opened, but you can try.

  • Built-in SSH Terminal question on how to save and exit

    Howdy, Heres my question and problem.
    I haven't been able to figure out how to save and exit the editor for the SSH terminal that the mac has. I've read that to save you press control -O hit return and to exit hit control -X but that doesn't seem to be working.
    I'm trying to install imagemagick onto my web server and I get stuck at that point of saving and then exiting.
    can anyone tell me how to save and exit the editor?
    I hold down control press -O i let go of the buttons then i press control -X and it stays at the same editor like nothing happened. I try quitting the terminal and reloading it all but that just causes me to restart and nothing saved. and I actually hit the "-" key should i do that or no?
    heres the instructions I'm following for the imagemagick install.
    (For this next part, if you don't have "pico", you can use "vi" instead)
    $ cd libtiff-lzw-compression-kit
    $ pico Makefile
    change
    TIFFSRCDIR = /tmp/libtiff
    to
    TIFFSRCDIR = ../tiff-v3.5.5
    Then save and exit the Editor $ make install
    $ cd ..
    $ cd tiff-v3.5.5
    $ ./configure
    thanks for any help

    ctrl+x (thats both keys at the same time) will invoke the exit of the program. at wich point if youve made changes to the file it will ask you if you want to save the data or not. If yes you need to type yes or y and hit enter... if no then no or n. Then it will ask you what you want the file name to be with the default being whatever the file was that you opend to buffer to work on so in most cases you hit enter again.
    hitting ctrl+o (thats both at the same time again) should write the file out and close the application without prompting i think (i dunno for sure... i always use ctrl+x myself).
    At least thats on the OS X version of pico... your server is probably linux so it may differ although i wouldnt expect it to. my pico bindings have always been the same from Debian to CentOS to Darwin.
    Also i msut ask... why cant you pass the TIFFSRCDIR as an option to ./configure like normal instead of manually editing the make file?

    My most favorite benefit of Firefox is that I can "save and exit" I recently downloaded the newest version , 4.0. Since then when I goto "file>exit> click to execute, I am not given the option of "save and exit" How do I get this feature back?

  • 4 won't save and exit..lose all opentabs..no help services or feedback options work. doing this on an un-upgraded computer!! right now 4 sucks!!

    Everything looks different and many old features appear to be gone. All open tabs close automatically on exit without save option and there is no ability to go back to an open page within the same tab without backing through each page(no pull down bar). 4 is not friendly or efficient at all compared to 3.16.6. When you exit it closes all tabs that are open with no option to save and I can not get any of the help or feedback functions in the help menu to open.

    If you want Firefox to warn you when you exit,one change in Firefox 4 is to by default stop Firefox displaying the warning message, but it can be turned back on by changing some preferences.
    An alternative is to set Firefox to automatically open your last set of tabs when you start Firefox.
    # Open the Options window and go to the General panel
    # Change the setting "When Firefox starts" to "Show my windows and tabs from last time"
    As for the drop-down list on the back/forward arrows, you can get the drop down list by either right-clicking on the back/forward buttons, or holding down the left button until the list appears.

  • Palm Desktop saves and exit very slow; losing data above letter "t"; duplicate records created

    Since I installed Palm Desktop by ACCESS (v. 6.2.2) on both an XP and a Vista Home Premium PC (one is a notebook, other a desktop), two critical issues have arisen:
    1) when I make any change in the records and save (File - Save all OR Control S), it takes about 45 seconds to complete the save. This is also how long it takes to exit the Palm Desktop. With previous versions of Palm Desktop, these functions took a couple of seconds. This problem exists with only a few records in the data base, as well as thousands of records. It has nothing to do with the McAffee program - tested that.
    2)  in the Contacts data base, every now and then, all data above the letter "t" disappears. I can recreate the missing data either from a backup of the data base or by doing a hotsync.
    3) every now and then, I discover that all records have been duplicated - this happens on both the PDA and the Palm Desktop. In this case, I need to use the latest backup files, load them into the Desktop, then do a hotsync with the Desktop overriding the Handheld.
    Any suggestions on what could be causing these problems? Palm's staff has been clueless.

  • Save and Exit button

    Hi
    I want to make a button that commits changes made on the page the button is on and then navigates away to another page.
    I have tried to set an action on the button matching an action on a page flow. In Internet Explorer it seems to work. The change is commited and I get navigated back to the page I want to get navigated to but I get a warning every time saying: "To display the webpage again, Internet Explorer needs to resend the information you´ve previously submitted.
    If you were making a purchase, you should click Cancel to avoid dublicate transaction. Otherwise, click Retry to display the webpage again."
    In firefox the part of the page containing the Commit button doesn´t get shown.
    I am not a java guru so I hoped I could do this without a backing bean. Is it possible to do this without a backing bean?
    If someone could tell me how to do this or give me a link to some example I would be grateful.

    Hi,
    not sure what is going on there but it seems that the page is served from the browser cache than refreshed from the server. Since you don't mention the release of JDeveloper I assume 10.1.3. If you set "redirect" on the navigation flow, does it happen the same ? In the visual editor, select the navigation case and edit its properties to set the redirect

    'can't save and close

    Newer version don' have that option.
    Instead you can make use of "Show my windows and tabs from Last time".
    Its like save and exit only.
    Goto TOOLS -> OPTIONS -> GENERAL -> STARTUP -> WHEN FIREFOX STARTS -> CHOOSE "Show my windows and tabs from Last time".

  • How can I Hide(not Disable) the Save As and Exit options in the File menu of Excel Documents in SharePoint 2013?

    Hi,
    I want to hide(not disable) the "Save As" and "Exit" options in the File Menu of Excel Documents in SharePoint 2013.When I make changes in the excelribbon.css file of xlviewer.aspx,all the options under File menu are getting hidden but
    I want to hide only these two options while retaining the others.
    Kindly suggest me a method to achieve this.
    Looking forward to your reply at the earliest.
    Thanks in advance.
    Regards,
    Sanjana

    Hi Sanjana,
    To hide the “Save As” and “Exit” options in xlviewer.aspx page in SharePoint, I recommend to use the code below(however it is not recommended):
    <style>
    div.cui-menusection li.cui-menusection-items:nth-child(2)
    display:none !important;
    div#m_excelWebRenderer_ewaCtl_menuJewelSaveAs{
    display:none !important;
    div#m_excelWebRenderer_ewaCtl_msJewelSecondary{
    display:none !important;
    </style>
    As “:nth-child()” selector is supported in IE 9 and later versions, please use IE 9 or later versions’ IE browser.

    Best regards.

  • After switching to version 4 I can no longer save and quit upon exit. How do I get this feture to work in version 4?

    I have a Dell laptop running Windows XP version 5.1 service pack 3. I downloaded Firefox version 4 and I no longer get an option to save and quit upon exit. How do I restore this feature?

    One change in Firefox 4 is to by default stop Firefox displaying the warning message, but it can be turned back on by changing some preferences.
    # Type '''about:config''' into the location bar and press enter

    I had 41 tabs open in about six groups over the last year and a half and I just close them and exited Firefox. Is there any way to get them back?
    Also, is there any way to save a group or an open session and then restore it later?

    History menu, if it was destroyed in the last session
    then use "Restore Previous session:" and then restore all windows also from the history menu.
    If done in this session try the restore all windows under the history menu.

  • Firefox asks (twice) to save and close tabs, on new open windows without tabs, when i close them.

    About one month ago, i started to receive a message box from firefox, asking if i wanted to save and close tabs, on newly open windows (and pop-ups) without any tabs open on them.
    And everytime i close the windows without tabs, firefox asks it twice...
    I did not made any changes, so i don't know why it started doing this.

    Start Firefox in [[Safe Mode]] to check if one of the add-ons is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Tools > Add-ons > Themes).
    * Don't make any changes on the Safe mode start window.
    See:
    * [[Troubleshooting extensions and themes]]
    * [[Troubleshooting plugins]]
    If it does work in Safe-mode then disable all extensions and then try to find which is causing it by enabling one at a time until the problem reappears.
    * Use "Disable all add-ons" on the [[Safe mode]] start window to disable all extensions.
    * Close and restart Firefox after each change via "File > Exit" (Mac: "Firefox > Quit"; Linux: "File > Quit")

  • How to save and then close document Using Acrobat 9 (URGENT)

    I have been looking for a soultion for long time now but
    couldn't find any.
    I'm using a dynamic PDF form desgined using LC Desginer and created a button that should save the current opened form in the same location (no need to define the location because what I want to use is the command File -> Save) and then close the application (I'm using Acrobat 9 Pro Extended).
    I tried many scripts and gone throw JavaScript™ for Acrobat® API Reference but no luck.
    Once I click on the button I get the following error: NotAllowedError: Security settings prevent access to this property or method.
    Will you please help in this issue as it took long time and my project manager is pushing to get resolved ASAP.
    Guys, I'm new to this kind of tecnology so please be patient with me.
    Thanks in advance for your valuable help.
    The code I used in click event of the button is as follow:
    try{
         var myDoc = app.newDoc();
         myDoc.saveAs();
         myDoc.closeDoc(true);
    catch (e)
         xfa.host.messageBox(""+e);
    I used this earlier and got the same error:
    try{
          var myDoc = event.target;
         myDoc.saveAs();
    catch (e)
         xfa.host.messageBox(""+e);

    Hi Niall,
    function(){return A.apply(null,[this].concat($A(arguments)))}
    function(){return A.apply(null,[this].concat($A(arguments)))}
    The app.execMenuItem works here. Is your form designed to be opened in Acrobat/Reader or are you opening the form in html?
    The form will be opened by Acrobat/Reader. The statement worked but what I need is to save the PDF in the current location without popping up the Save As dialog box. In other words I would like to perform Ctrl+Saction and then exit the application not only close the form because the Content Management Solution we are using will require the application to be closed so it can CheckIn the document.
    I tried to use app.execMenuItem("Save");  but it seems it is not working because once I try to close the application or the form using app.execMenuItem("Close"); the do you want to save changes to "FORM" before closing? dialog box pops-up.
    For closing the application I tried app.execMenuItem("Exit"); and I got this error: InvalidArgsError: Invalid arguments.
    function(){return A.apply(null,[this].concat($A(arguments)))}
    function(){return A.apply(null,[this].concat($A(arguments)))}Also you may want to consider how you are reader enabling the form. If you are using Acrobat to extend the form, then certain features like database connections will not work.
    The customer has Adobe LC Reader Extension so I will use it to extend the PDF but right now I do use Acrobat so I don't need to extend the PDF everytime I need to test it.
    Can I get all the arguments that execMenuItem uses?
    I really appreciate your help Niall.
    PS: I couldn't reply earlier yesterday because my work is on the server and I was at home (my time is +3 GMT it was night when I got your reply)
