Save completed form as PDF

Is it possible to save a completed form as a PDF? Our school is considering using FormsCentral to allow faculty to complete online student Surveys (essentially evaluations of a student's progress). We need to attach the completed survey to the student record in our Student Management System (as a PDF or similar file).
Thansk for your input... Ken

Yes, but it's in a "detail view" format, not the actual form layout. Check out this FAQ on how to do it: http://forums.adobe.com/docs/DOC-1383

I know of no way to do this with Reader or XML.

  • I created a form for our band parents to fill out.  How are they able to save the forms as pdfs?

I created a form for our band parents to fill out.  How are they able to save the forms as pdfs and be able to go back and view them?  I see the Save Submission-Enabled PDF on the Distribution page but there is no option when they go in to the first page of the form to save.
Thank you very much for your help.

If you are distributing a PDF using the save submission enabled pdf option, then respondents can save it using the Adobe Reader. They save it just like any other file - File menu -> save (or save icon on toolbar).

  • Submit completed form as pdf excluding previous pdf pages.

I have created a pdf binder which consists of 5 pages and a form which was created in Acrobat (not Livecycle).  I created a submit button which submits the completed form (page 5) as a pdf back to me. The problem I am experiencing is that the entire PDF document is emailed back. How can I isolate the form from the previous pdf pages. I am using Acrobat Pro vrs 9 on a windows XP machine.  Or am I going about this incorrectly from the start.

Change the submission to be just the data, not the form. Select FDF, XFDF, or XML. For your application, I would use FDF. If this form is for others to e-mail back to you, then be aware that e-mail submission is subject to problems that you can not prevent (all associated with the client machine configuration). Thus submission to a web script is ALWAYS preferred. Also, you may want to save the from as backward compatible to be sure folks with older versions of Acrobat or Reader do not have problems with it. Backward compatibility can be obtained with Document>Reduce File Size or with the PDF Optimizer. If you used some new features, they will be lost (but of course those are the features that would have caused problems).
Once you have the FDF file, you can simply import it into the form (in some cases, just clicking on the FDF will open it in the form if you did not move the form on your system. You can then export the data to other formats (see the manual for more info, or just play around with it).

  • Unable to save completed form

I am a recipient of a questionnaire on FormsCentral with many pages of input. At a certain point, the program will not let me save my input. I get the following error
    Unable to Save Form
An error occurred while tryhing to save your form.
    Then an OK button
    Someone please help

    Hi;
The more information we can get the better we can investigate, can you share with me:
    The form URL
Screen shots of the error message the user sees (this would be very helpful)
Email address the user used for the Save form link
    Email to [email protected]
    Thanks,

  • How to save completed form?

    Hi,
I need to be able to upload a formular to my company's webpage, for people to download. Once completed, how do they locally save the file an ordinary pdf format?
We do not want to use the Websoulution, as many of our costumers needs to save the formular locally, maybe send it between several people supplying information, before finally sending it to us.
    Thank you

Only specially enabled forms can be saved with data in Reader. If you have Acrobat Standard or Pro you can save data in forms. Forms can only be enabled for saving with Reader using Acrobat or LiveCycle Reader Extensions.

  • Why does the form link show up in 2 pages, but when I save the form as PDF it comes up as 3 pages?

A few weeks ago, I asked the above question on why the form link shows up in 2 pages, but when the form is saved as PDF it comes up as 3 pages.
The answer I received was that I can simply select the page break and hit "delete" button or click on the trash can icon at the top right corner.
I tried to do this but, there is NO OPTION to select the page break and hit delete….
I want to combine the page on my PDF because the header takes up one entire page.
How can I do this? Can someone please help or walk me through this live?

    Wenlam,
There is NO OPTION to select the page break and hit delete….
    Please see.
I want to combine these page because the header takes up one entire page.
    How can I do this?

  • How do I submit my form as PDF in email?

I just completed a PDF form with a Submit by email button, I was able to set the email id but when i press Submit by Email button, it attaches an XML. How do I make LiveCycle Designer save the form as pdf and attach it to the set email id? Help please

Open your form in Acrobat Professional.  Using the Advanced pull down menu choose, "Extend Features in Adobe Reader".  You'll get a warning message which includes the following note - "Once reader enabled, certain functions, such as editing document content or inserting and deleting pages will be restricted." Read so you are sure this is what you want then choose Save Now.  Reader rights are now enabled.
To answer your question on usage rights, I went right to the acrobate users group and copied their indepth explanation
"To summarize the EULA as it relates to enabling PDFs, you are granted permission for enabling a PDF for a maximum of 500 uses. This means that if you post a PDF enabled form on your Web site and 500 people fill out the form, you're within the licensing agreement. If you enable a form where more than 500 people fill out and submit the form back to you, you're not complying with the licensing in the EULA. There are many uses for staying within the 500 limit. You might want to enable files used as a purchase order form, a travel expense form, a vacation leave form, etc. The form can be used by several Adobe Reader users many times, but needs to stay within the 500 use limitation.
For a huge number of appliications this new enabling feature is designed for people who don't have industrial strength needs for forms distribution that require purchase of LRES. A charity golf tournament, a small conference, a PTA event, etc. are all likely candidates for using the new enabling features in Acrobat Professional."

  • Saving a completed form

I've created a PDF form, but when my customer completes the form, he is unable to save it. There is a message that he cannot save the form with data in it; he can only print it.
    He's running Reader 8.
Can you tell me if there's a setting that I need to select to allow my users to save completed forms? Otherwise, I have a big problem.
    Thanks!
    Cindy

Your application is one that may fit within the license restrictions. However, you will need to upgrade from AA7 to get the feature to allow you to do this operation. That may not be within your budget. When I say data file, you simply import it into the FORM in Acrobat. You see exactly what was on the user screen when the completed it. There is no database required. For your budget, this may be your only choice.
As far as e-mail for rental applications, you need to take care. E-mail is not a secure form for submission of sensitive data. There is an outside chance you could get yourself in a legal bind if any sensitive data is included in the application. This is an aspect you would have to discuss with a lawyer, but then you run into the budget issue again.
I am not trying to fight your use, but indicate what can and cannot be done, as well as point out some potential problems. The e-mail of an application comes to the forefront as a potential privacy issue and you should be aware of that. I can not make judgements here, but am just raising a flag.

  • A way for end users to email completed forms?

I would like my end users to be able to complete the form and then send the whole, completed pdf form (not just the data) to another person. I believe my users will probably be using the latest version of Adobe Reader. Now, I realize that saving information typed into a pdf form is technically not supposed to happen, and I imagine one would have to save the completed form in order to email it, but I believe a few months back that I followed a thread on this forum that discussed just how to circumvent this issue and allow an end user to email a completed form in pdf format. Naturally, I cannot find the thread now that I need it.
Anyone out there know if and how I can make this whole emailing business happen?
    Thanks!

First don't use the default e-mail submit button from object library, that will send just the xml data. Instead you can use the default button and set its control type to Submit. After this put in the Submit to URL field some thing like this: mailto:[email protected]
When you finish the form you need also extend the form by doing what our coleague said above.
Now when you click the submit button it will send the entire form through e-mail.
    I hope this helps.

  • Export/Convert Browser Based Infopath 2010 forms to PDF/Excel/Word

    Hi,
Is there an OOB, way of converting browser based Infopath 2010 forms to PDF/Word/Excel.
In case there isnt, can anyone please point me to a coded or a programmatic way of implementing the same.
    Soptik Dutta

    Hi Soptik,
As far as I know, we can only save an InfoPath form as PDF/Excel using InfoPath Windows form application(rather than Broswer-based InfoPath).
    In this case, we can
Open the library that save the forms
Selec the form that is wanted to be PDF/Excel(Just select it, don't open it)
Click the "inverse trangle", and then click "Edit in Microsoft InfoPath"
In InfoPath, click "File" > "Save & Send" to save the form as PDF/Excel
In this following thread, there are some code snippets, which will help you to export an form to PDF using custom code:

Please feel free to ask, if you have any more questions.

  • How to Save Completed PDF Form (Embedded in HTML)

We have a PDF Form which is displayed embedded in our HTML page (via a browser plugin).
The user can submit the Form from within the HTML page (the embedded frame with the PDF contains the whole form and the Submit button).
The toolbar on the Reader plugin shows the Save button, but when we click it, we get an error saying the document cannot be saved, only printed. Here is our issue:
    1) We need to allow the user to save the form locally,
    2) including their *completed data*
Is there any way to do this from within the plugin? Thanks

Only specially enabled forms can be saved with data in Reader. If you have Acrobat Standard or Pro you can save data in forms. Forms can only be enabled for saving with Reader using Acrobat or LiveCycle Reader Extensions.
