Save excel book

I have a program that takes 3 different measurements 200 different times, and sends them into a book in excel.  Therefore, I would like to have it automatically save the Excel book containing the measurements after all 200 have been taken.  I am using labview 7.0 (express).  Can somebody help me? My VI is attached for reference.

I think the one on the excel board is 7.0 but I could be wrong. That VI is simple to make though.
Right click the reference coming out of the open workbook.vi
Select create method.
Select save or save as (your pick)
place the node wherever you need to put it on the block diagram and make sure you wire the workbook reference to it just like you did the open sheet. (use the same reference with a wire branch)
This should get you going.

    OK, I need to be able to have a linked TOC, and also have destinations created in FM10 that will not be lost when I 1. Save the book as a PDF; then 2. I need the PDF to be as small as possible, but without losing my destinations. Anyone know how to do that??
    I had been saving as a PDF and then reducing the size of the PDF by printing it as a PDF with a degree of image compression. I write manuals with a LOT of screen captures and line art that needs to be clear. So it is a balancing act between image clarity and PDF size. The PDFs on the web need to be smaller - sure you can undertsand.
    Anyway, when I print the PDF again, I lose both my destinations and bookmarks.
    Anyone know of any way to avoid that?

    Control the images by creating a custom PDF Job Options and then selecting it in the PDF Job Options drop-down of the PDF setup dialog box (File > Save as PDF...)
    Create the custom PDF Job Options file with Distiller. If you do not have Distiller, open the Printing Preferences of the Adobe PDF printer. Start with the Smallest File Size Job Options settings and Edit.

  • Open and Save Excel Files

    Hi All,
    I need code of How to open and save excel file in local system in Oracle forms.
    With Regards,
    Chandra Shekhar

    Hello Chandra,
    Webutil can be used to achieve this functionality.
    STEPS TO FOLLOW
    ================
    1. Install and configure Webutil following instructions in the webutil manual
    and the readme file.
    2. Create a form with a block Eg. DEPT
    3. Create a button, and in that button put the following code -
    DECLARE
    application Client_OLE2.Obj_Type;
    workbooks Client_OLE2.Obj_Type;
    workbook Client_OLE2.Obj_Type;
    worksheets Client_OLE2.Obj_Type;
    worksheet Client_OLE2.Obj_Type;
    args Client_OLE2.List_Type;
    cell ole2.Obj_Type;
    j INTEGER;
    k INTEGER;
    BEGIN
    application := Client_OLE2.create_obj('Excel.Application');
    workbooks := Client_OLE2.Get_Obj_Property(application, 'Workbooks');
    workbook := Client_OLE2.Invoke_Obj(workbooks, 'Add');
    worksheets := Client_OLE2.Get_Obj_Property(workbook, 'Worksheets');
    worksheet := Client_OLE2.Invoke_Obj(worksheets, 'Add');
    go_block('dept');
    first_record;
    j:=1;
    k:=1;
    while :system.last_record = 'FALSE'
    loop
    for k in 1..3 /* DEPT has 3 columns */
    loop
    If not name_in(:system.cursor_item) is NULL Then
    args:=Client_OLE2.create_arglist;
    Client_OLE2.add_arg(args, j);
    Client_OLE2.add_arg(args, k);
    cell:=Client_OLE2.get_obj_property(worksheet, 'Cells', args);
    Client_OLE2.destroy_arglist(args);
    Client_OLE2.set_property(cell, 'Value', name_in(:system.cursor_item));
    Client_OLE2.release_obj(cell);
    End If;
    next_item;
    end loop;
    j:=j+1;
    next_record;
    end loop;
    /* For the last record */
    for k in 1..3
    loop
    If not name_in(:system.cursor_item) is NULL Then
    args:=Client_OLE2.create_arglist;
    Client_OLE2.add_arg(args, j);
    Client_OLE2.add_arg(args, k);
    cell:=Client_OLE2.get_obj_property(worksheet, 'Cells', args);
    Client_OLE2.destroy_arglist(args);
    Client_OLE2.set_property(cell, 'Value', name_in(:system.cursor_item));
    Client_OLE2.release_obj(cell);
    End If;
    next_item;
    end loop;
    Client_OLE2.Release_Obj(worksheet);
    Client_OLE2.Release_Obj(worksheets);
    /* Save the Excel file created */
    args := Client_OLE2.Create_Arglist;
    Client_OLE2.Add_Arg(args,'d:\test.xls');
    Client_OLE2.Invoke(workbook, 'SaveAs', args);
    Client_OLE2.Destroy_Arglist(args);
    /* release workbook */
    Client_OLE2.Release_Obj(workbook);
    Client_OLE2.Release_Obj(workbooks);
    /* Release application */
    Client_OLE2.Invoke(application, 'Quit');
    Client_OLE2.Release_Obj(application);
    END;
    4. Save the form and compile it.
    5. Run the form.
    6. Execute the query in the block.
    7. Click on the button.
    8. An excel file will be created in the d:\ directory by the name test.xls.

  • I want to work on a photo book on home, work, or ipad computers. How do I save a book or transfer it to another device?

    I make photo books from collections of pictures using iPhoto and then order them from the Apple store. Sometimes I don't finish them on one of the computers I regularly use (macbook pro, iMac, iPad) and would like to save the partly finished book on a disk or thumb drive so I can transfer it to one of the other devices to continue working on it. It is easy to transfer all of the pictures, but I see no way to save a book, burn it to a CD or DVD, or transfer it over a network. You can delet the book or convert it to pdf or slideshow, but all I want to do is finish working on it before I order the book.

    Either transfer the entire library to the MacBook Pro and work on it there or try the method described in this tutorial to reduce the size of a copy of the library to just the pictures in the book (and those you think you might want to use) and use that on the MPB: #9a - Archiving an iPhoto 7(08)/8(09)/9(11) Book for Editing and/or Ordering at a Later Date

  • Save FrameMaker Book as PDF - Files with different page sizes

    I've created a book with 2 files - the pages in the first file are 8.5 x 11, the pages in the second file are 8.5 x 14.
    How can I save the book as a PDF but keep both page sizes? Right now if I change the page size in the PDF settings dialog, it changes all pages.
    Thanks.

    Something's not right. Try this route then:
    1. Use the Print Book option and have the AdobePDF printer instance selected, turn off the the Print to File, enable the "Generate Acrobat Data" option.
    2. Click the PDF Setup button to ensure that the Page size is set to the largest (as in the previous message),
    3. Then click the Setup... button to configure the printer for the largest size required.
    4. Then click the OK button to get back to the Print Book and finally click Print.
    5. You should be prompted where to place the file (unless you left the default configuration which may place it on your desktop).
    This should have all the pages correctly cropped as in the following sample with Letter, Legal and Tabloid all in one book:

  • How can I save a book in projects on a separate hard drive

    How can I save a book in projects on a separate hard drive?

    You can not save "just a book"
    The book is just entried in the iPhoto database and the only way to move its location is ot move the entire iPhoto library
    You can make a special library just for the book so you have a smaller library to archive - see Old Toad's tutorial #9

  • How to save a book created in Aperture 3 for future uploading for printing?

    How to you save a book created in Apeture 3 to send for printing several months after creating book.  I've create several books, had them printed and get request for reprints.  I don't want to keep the photo files in Aperture for space considerations.

    If you are printing through Apple then you have to send the order using Aperture. You could export the book as a new library and archive that to save space in the original library. Keep im mind that exporting this way will not remove the originals from the Aperture library, you will need to remove those yourself.
    If you are not using Apple to print the book you would need to save whatever it was (pdf file?) that you sent to be printed the first time.

  • What's the best file format to save a book and then have it printed?

    Hi all, I'm putting together a photo album, in colour if it's not too expensive, for my school and using Aperture's book-making function to do so. I see that there are a number of way to save the book, including as a pdf and jpg. What would be the best way to save this 40-50 page book so that I can take it to quality printer and have the book produced? Are there differences in cost depending on the file? Thanks.

    Your printer will want the PDF. If your design includes bleeding photos across two pages be sure to discuss this with the printer and have them look at how Aperture handles those facing pages. There should be no problem but its something to check.

  • How do I save a book in progress in Lightroom 4.2?

    Hi,
    Anyone out there using Lightroom's new book feature? I can't find where to save a book that I am in progress with in Lightroom 4.2. All help appreciated. Why doesn't LR have a "Save as" feature like 99% of all other programs on the planet? !"{}#@!!!

    Thanks for the reply - if only it was that easy. The "create saved book" option in preview is there when I first go to the Book module but it is no longer there once I am working on the book and want to subsequently save it. Where did it go and how do I get it back? Please help as this is most frustrating. Thank you.

  • Can't save excel files

    Getting an error when trying to save files in excel: "Someone lese is working in 'Network path' right now please try again later.
    All PC's are Windows 7 and Office 2013. I can confirm that the file is not open by anyone else.
    This is becoming very frustrating and I can see other threads on this issue with no resolution.

    If you just can't save Excel file located in shared drive normally, it should not a Office product issue, maybe there are some other applications in the server causes these issue. Check permission and try to disable the preview and detailed
    view to test this issue.

  • Can/How do you save excel files to the cloud?

    How, if at all, can you save excel files to icloud?

    I think you need to upgrade your MacOS.  Mine is running MacOS X 10.8.4.
    I am running Numbers '09 v2.3.
    Need to sign on to iCloud under Mac Preference Settings.
    When I start Numbers, I can view files stored on iCloud, or locally on the Mac harddisk.
    Hope it helps.

    any idea why ?
    in addition, is there a possibility to save the book - with the layout etc  - on a cd. dvd or usb. i tried on a cd and got only the pictures not with the layout per page. Suggestions ?

    To archive a book:
    Duplicate the Library that contains the book

  • Open Excel book and select sheet

    I need to be able to open an Excel book, select a sheet, and write to a cell. Using the NI examples I've been able to open the excel book but I can't get it to select a sheet within the book. What is the proper way to do this?

    If you are starting with the example Write Table to XL, just change the Workbooks->Add to Workbooks->Open.  Then change the Sheets->Add to Sheets->Item.  The variant that is returned needs to be converted to a Worksheet type just like in the example.  The Index input is a variant and can accept either an integer sheet index or a string sheet name.
    If you are expecting the specified sheet to be displayed by the ActiveX Item method, you won't see it.  The reference allows direct read/write of sheet contents without it being visible.  If you need to see it, use the Worksheet->Activate method.
